- THE OWNER / BUILDER OF THE BEARCAT (MICK NEIL) ASKED OUR RESIDENT TEST PILOT DEANO FOR A HAND TO SET UP HIS LATEST BABY !
THE 33cc SEAGULL MODELS F8F-2 US NAVAL FIGHTER POWERED BY A 53cc 5 CYLINDER SAITO RADIAL !
DEANO TEST FLEW HER AND IT WENT WELL, NEEDED PLENTY OF TRIMMING ON THE FIRST FLIGHT (NOT WORTH FILMING AS I WAS TRIMMING THE MODEL SO FILMED TAKE OFF & LANDING ONLY)
AS YOU CAN SEE SHE WAS DIALLED IN ON THE SECOND FLIGHT AND THE STALL TEST WAS VERY SUCCSESFULL WITH A LAZY WING DROP,
MICK HAD SOME HANDS ON DURING THE THIRD FLIGHT AND WAS SUPPRISSED HOW SENSITIVE SHE WAS BUT LOVED THE WAY SHE FLEW (WILL TAKE HIM A WHILE TO GET USED TO HER)
THE BRAND NEW (NOT FULLY RUN IN) SAITO 535 PERFORMED FLAWLESSLY AND WAS FLOWN ON 3/4 POWER OR MORE TO KEEP THE SPEED UP - LOOKING FORWARD TO THE NEXT SESSION PEEPS !

How could you not fall in love with that plane
My compliments to Deano for performing a great test flight - complete with stall test. You just don't see that enough. Beautiful plane. A Saito FG60 triple looks like a great candidate for that plane as well.
Glad you enjoyed it mitch, in fact the saito in the model is borderline on the power and had to be flown on full throttle most of the time so was in fact under powered im afraid,
Mick has a winner there. What a beautiful Bearcat! Deano has brilliant skills, and set her up nicely, and of course the cinematographer is second to none. Mick now has a very cool video of the maiden with him at the controls.

Another great video. If it was me, I would never fly that model again, all I would do is start it and listen to it idle in the pits until it ran out of fuel....what a glorious song it sings.....

Beautiful airplane, sweet sound of that 5 cyl radial is awesome. Deano is certainly the best pilot I have seen. Mick did a great flying and the build is incredible. Keep em coming, Cary

Great job filming that one Pete and a hell'uva job flying by that young man Deano. Nice to see he takes care of us oldtimers like that. I must say however, both the filming and the flying just have to take a back seat to that radials song when she's singing. Take care and stay safe...............Gary

If you have a new plane to be flown in, Deano Coxon is the best RC test pilot you can get. This boy flies from a very young age and I don't know anyone as talented as he is.

@@tbobborap1 on a website shop, it doesn't say what motor comes with it, nor anything else, just the body size mainly. Did instructions come, and other bits.

Such a cool little flyin field....need a bunch of top dressing of sand on the field to smooth it out...be perfect after that though....gorgeous Bearcat also...and as always, superb filming from the man himself....bravo mates

SAITO is going to produce the last batch of FA-325R5 engines this summer. Then on it will become a collectionist engine!
How nice to hear to the voice of that tradial... Curious to know why the tail was not lifting during take-offs?? Is ist a bit tail heavy???

Is the field as small as it appears? I noticed what looked to be a diagonal landing. If so, flying difficultly or flying skill could be unappreciated. Good job landing.

I am building the same plane, without fuel and with batteries it weighs 7.24 kg. and I have to add 1.34 in the nose .... sure that it weighs around 7kg?

Great vid. Does he have the 325 running on glow fuel or converted to cdi?
running on glow and not very powerfull for this model, would have more power if converted to petrol cory,
@@tbobborap1 sounds just like the real thing though! Do they not lose about 20% power when converted to gas??

Congrats to Mike and Deano on the build and test flight. The Bearcat not only looks the part, but, love the sound from the 5cyl Radial.

May I suggest that use of a Neck Strap to take the weight of the Tx will help you fly much more easily with relaxed fingers, hands and arms. Nice video, very nice model, thankyou from me who flies at pdarcs.com.au
