i always wonder how these guys able to contrl RC so smoothly. The angle and distance from where you are controlling plane is so disorienting when trying to align the aircraft to the runaway.
That was really cool. A bunch of retired pilots from the nearby base used to get together and fly planes like that at a commercial sod company field near me. I loved watching them with my Papa on Saturdays.
WOW! What a beauty! This aircraft has a special place in my heart. I am 76 years old, and have had a lifelong affair with aviation (26 years in the USAF, private pilot). My very first model airplane back in the 1950's, was an Aurora F6F Hellcat! It is such a pleasure to see this beautiful model fly! Thanks for sharing this moment with others!
Great aircraft, great engine- such a nice, deep, heavy sound! I'm hoping someone out there eventually will install 2 Moki radials in a large scale F7F Tigercat. I've seen nice looking Tigercats with (the horror) electric motors but I couldn't get too excited about those. Thanks for showing us your awesome Hellcat. Grumman Ironworks forever!
Why would anyone give this video a thumbs down? Well videoed, clear, slow pan. The 'pilot' does a great job....Kudos to all and thanks for posting. Cheers from Canada.
So excellent thank you for filming this I know you have many many thousands of hours and dollars in this hobby and I just want to tell you you made my day
Some how, even as I have studied the conflict as 1941 -1945 Pacific conflict WW2, I did not fully understand the "hellcat" potential as air combat to IJN *zero (zeke), until I watched this RC model fly. What a power and effortless solid...design. That Moaki engine....well....makes it come alive....and return to the air war, of the S. Pacific. Well done....and alive to my view. M.
I knew that field looked familiar. Went to a fly in there in around 01-3? Remember quiet flyer magazine was there and a man brought his half finished massive wingspan b17. My dad took me, he passed this last year. .brings back alot of memories.
I find these videos both comical watching the arms crossed pose of the guys in the trailer next to them and intriguing. That was a beautifully handled flight and loved the sound. I gotta wonder how much that puppy weighs. My wife is probably going to leave me when I pursue RC. I'm not confident enough to fly and will instead go with a boat.
My brother served on the USS Bunker Hill CV17 as an aircraft mechanic. He told me that all their aircraft tail numbers were underlined like your RC Hellcat.
FPV is for drones and foamies. I'd never fly a plane that I had any kind of emotional investment in behind a pair of fpv goggles. Even with a spotter, it's almost impossible to save a plane in an emergency situation. By the time you can visual acquire the aircraft and determine it's orientation so that you can input the correct controls, it's usually too late.
Nice looking ,flies a little faster than reality ,these things always lighter (per scale) than Real Aircraft ,less fuel ,less , equipment ,less engine weight ,
Thank God not another mishap video - I hate seeing them crash! Was that the maiden, it was flown like one, ie no aerobatics & gear down? Beautiful scale model, Moki engine sounds terrific, it really covered the airspace quick, and a spot on landing to end the flight, well done. Cheers.
The most deep, throaty sound for an RC plane I've ever heard. Awesome!
It sounds like a real Radial engine. OP, can you tell us what engine is in that thing?
I was just thinking that too! Some of the flybys are hard to tell that its not a real aircraft.
@@charleswaters455 moki engines are radials.
@@craigbrewer433 I'm looking at it now. Wow. It's beautiful and EXPENSIVE!
That's the Unmistakable sound of a Moki ;)
I agree with others: very realistic sound of the engine and incredible pilot skills. Very nice landscape 👍👍👍
Smooth landing! That took some skill. Looks like it actually had flaps down too!

near perfect 3 point landing. and it was nice and slow too, exactly like a carrier landing.
The engine along in that plane runs around $5,000 !!
Impressive set up !
Sounds bad ass ...
This is insanely impressive, from the build to the flight - well done!
Nothing sounds like a radial! I could listen to one all day!
This is amazing. The size is huge and the sound is damn near as real as you can get. I’m always amazed at guys who build and fly these RC plains.
I see the youtube algorithm has brought us all here. I will see all of you in 5 years.

Grumman Ironworks forever!
This Hellcat is so realistic visually and soundwise that it could be used in a Hollywood WWII movie.
I know! Crazy how much it does look and sound like the real thing,
@P Pp WTF are you talking about?
if u look at the 1/6 scale pilot figure, one realizes the Hellcat was one of the largest single engine prop planes in WW2
It's not that damn realistic

Beautiful plane and engine. Nice flying and landing, too.
Good job guys. Beautiful model of an iconic aircraft and expertly flown.
Should get some cameras mounted inside and fly like he was in the cockpit..
I've been thinking/dreaming about something like this, maybe with VR style goggles... immagine having a Zero there to then 1v1 dogfigthing :)
Yea watching a dot in the sky is o well not to impressive
That's exactly what I was thinking!

Excellent pilot! Landing just could not have been better!
That landing was perfect! I had to watch it a couple times good job
kind of even sounds like a real one,
Fully concur!
What a great demonstration
It is a real one. Only tiny
It is actually a full sized Hellcat operated by giants!
@@paulharris553 Great comment. Should replace pinup girl painted on cowl with Godzilla.
Thats amazing it actually sounds like a mini radial engine
That was impressive. What a landing!
First thought that popped in my mind... "My Hampster would love riding in that!" 😆
Thanks for the entertaiment Beautiful hobby !
Man, that's a scary runway... those threes at the end of the runway is really scary when taking off against'em
Imagine how the person in the cockpit feels.
@@RichWeigel OMG hilarious comment 🤣🤣
I never seen a hobby plane the size of this monster. That was awesome !
Wow, he landed it so beautifully.

Hellcat looks great and sounds great!!!! Fun video, Thank you!
Excellent pilot skills. Awesome engine !
Dude that was SWEET!!!! Great landing .
Well done perfect flight.
Very good landing! It looks like you could use a bit more rudder when turning, makes the turn more coordinated.
Perfect,so beautiful, looks like Bearcat second war war (RCL Veterans)🇺🇸🇨🇦🇫🇷🇬🇧
Nothing sounds better than a Moki 300!
That's a beautiful thing to watch!
Beautiful plane!
That is the coolest thing I’ve seen in a long time... now that’s a hobby
That was AWESOME !!! Only thing missing was a tail hook and a guy out at the end of the runway with paddles.
My favorite carrier aircraft!
My dad flew Hellcats of the USS Yorktown against the Japanese in '45.
My uncle test flew the Hellcat and Corsair in WW2. He was an pilot instructor at Pensacola.
It even sounds like an old warbird, very cool!
Beautiful. Throaty sound. Nailed that three pointer. Perfection
He nailed tht 3 point landing.
That was so awesome! I felt like i was flying with it!
amazing how real it looks
I received excitement in my nether region...sounds awesome.
Serious remote skills.
The Moki gives a great sound for what it is.
Great job all around. I enjoyed the air show. Later.
I knew I recognized this area! This is in my hometown MONROE!! REPRESENT! REEEEEE!
awesome job and a sweet plane

What a remarkably beautiful day. The sky took my attention away from the flying.
nicely done my friend!
They all trying to play it off but we all know Stuart is in there piloting.
who?
First rule of flight. Always have trees to clear on take off.
And who wants to fly a drone, when they could fly a thing of beauty like a Hellcat.

awesome you land better than I do in my 182

Beautiful plane. Wow
Amazingly cool! Thing must cost at least a hunnert bucks! LMAO
