I have been a Thursday customer for around 10 years now, I have two pair of their sneaks and several of their boots. And I have not noticed a decrease in quality at all. I think people who have “bad experiences” or negative thoughts of Thursday just have unrealistic expectations.
I have a two pair of captains that are almost 9 years old. One in Brown/Oxblood, one in Brandy. Resoled twice, but the uppers are worn in but look better for it. Since then I've invested in a few more. Own other brands as well, Grant Stone Diesel, AE Higgins Mill among others, these are better quality, but Thursday Boots are still worth it for the price. Thursday's quality has improved over the years in terms of fit, leather, construction, etc. The key is to take care of leather boots and shoes. Conditioning periodically, using shoe trees, and hitting them with a shoe brush a few times a week if not every day will work wonders. Also, avoid wearing them two days in a row. Buying one extra pair to rotate with will add years to you boots. Yes they are a favorite among influencers, but this should not stop someone from trying a pair. Even some heritage boots such as made by Redwing and Wolverine can put in this category and may not be worth the hype. Nicks, Whites, and Viberg may have an upper hand in quality, but don't resonate with many people, especially in terms of price. All of this is in my highly biased opinion as an engineer not a boot brand advocate.
I’d suggest most the boots you mention are worth their price, whether or not they are worth acquiring at the end of the day is up to the individual. Grant Stone and Parkhurst are two that come to my mind as falling in a place where quality, style and price are offered in terms of maximum value. In terms of work boots/ heritage boots, Red Wing are good mass produced boots and they are worth the money. Truman likely offers the best value in a boot that’s a notch above Red Wing, but much less expensive than say a Nick’s or White’s boot. A majority of Truman boots are ready to ship, they do offer build to order from time to time, so best of both worlds. The waitlist for most Nick’s, Wesco and White’s is likely six months to two years. As for Viberg, the boot they offer is more online with what Parkhurst and Grant Stone offer. I wouldn’t say they are twice as good as either, but they really make a fabulous shoe or boot. One thing about Viberg, unlike Nick’s or Wesco is that they offer fairly limited runs, but they curate what’s available for the most part. You find something you like and for the most part, it’s available from the moment you see it until sold out. Viberg does have their shoes available in some select stores, that’s a major benefit. I’ve got two pair of Viberg, the last pair bought on sale. I was able to try out a couple different lasts and sizes, you get them right and they are spectacular.

I've had 5 experiences with Thursday, and only 2 of them I've actually REALLY liked; 1 is mediocre. Their Builder Boot, their Desperado cowboy boot, and their "Logger" boot. The other 2 experiences I did not like AT ALL! Those being: Challenger, and the Brawler boot. I find that the lasts they use cannot properly accommodate higher stacked heels than that of the Captain, President, and their Chelsea boots. That was such great feedback, thank you! Assuming with these 5 experiences you’ve probably first tried Thursday a few years back? If so, do you think their quality has declined or remained the same?
@ No problem at all! It was actually just about a year ago that I started getting into the higher quality than Nike, footwear group lol. The Brawler boot is a shorter heel stack, single row stitchdown, much thinner leather, a fabric pull-tab, and more of a dress style sole.

Still below the boot industry behind , Grant stone , parkhurst , Truman , whites, Nicks ,yes all these cost much more because the boots are worth there price , look at the built quality and the leather , nooo just because they use chromexel doesn't mean it's the same cut , heck viberg uses chromexel leather and your eyes without the feel can see its a higher quality , so Thursdays rules the 200 class only.
@@lantzkulp :-) Well, these days i'm wearing the Mephisto Murray Chelsea boot...i was really surprised by the build quality. @@richyclubsport5155 cobbler do know best! Although I guess at the price point of which Thursdays are being offered at, one can’t expect the highest quality of boot, you know what I mean?
Concur on the unfavorable Cavalier assessment. Have Captains and Cadets that are ~ 5 yrs old and they have been fine. However, the leather on the Cavaliers feels cheep and the new last leaves excess material over the instep. I was underwhelmed and regretted the purchase (directly from Thursday).
Friends don’t let friends buy Thursdays. Save your money for a little bit longer and get anything else and it will be better. I had a pair of the loggers that shit the bed after about 8 hours of wear, 4 to 5 eyelets blew out and this was on their American mad model. They use super cheap, thin leather; belly leather etc. my cobbler told me the only thing that was worth anything was the laces, the laces, just wow. Get some Truman’s, Parkhurst, RW, BS pretty much anyone else, you can thank me later.
Thank sucks man. I think the inconsistency is becoming a problem. Maybe I just got lucky.
I have been eyes Truman’s. Do you have a pair?
I have 2 pairs of Truman’s and RW. RW for around a hundred more is money well spent. Parkhurst are on the way. Life is too short to buy ghetto boots.
Wow wow you did a great job promoting thursdays, they should hire you as a spokesman person.
That being said , I hate the slogan, we cut the middle man out to pass savings to you .
I wish that was true but it's not because there 200.00 dollar boots are what they are and that is the level of there boots .
Thursdays beat any brand at 200 bucks .
I appreciate the kind words…I think? 😂
I don’t like the slogan as well, I feel you on that. I appreciate you sharing your thoughts/feedback!

Thursday Boots.....the McDonald's of the good-year welt.
😂😂😂😂😂
It’s funny to see the mixed reviews. What is your go-to’s?
@@lantzkulp :-) Well, these days i'm wearing the Mephisto Murray Chelsea boot...i was really surprised by the build quality. They're made in France so they're quite expensive as they need to be imported into the US. They have an amazing leather..but what was interesting is that they have something called 'soft-air' which, i think is a layer of latex inside the mid sole and which they have integrated into the good-year welt itself, using their own stitching method to do it. They have a patent on that and they explain it in a brochure which comes with the boots. Kinda gimmicky perhaps, but kinda cool. :-)
@@tentimetex that’s pretty cool! I’ll have to check them out and see what they have going on over there.
The best boots in the world are the ones you love most! 😁
Would never trust a guy wearing this outfit on matters of fashion no offense
Interesting….what is it that makes you say that?
@@lantzkulp Quarter zip and slim-fit kakis is boring and kinda outright ugly. Looked at your channel briefly and it's all slim fit, short jackets, finance bro type stuff
@@pdg887huh, skinny pants from 2 years ago? Short jackets? Not sure what jacket you’re referring to. Doesn’t matter though I appreciate you checking out the content. 🫡
