Don't let people being nasty keep you down, if you read these comments. It's so easy for keyboard warriors to dunk on someone who's actually brave enough to go out there and get things done. I admire people like you because I did a five minute set in a comedy club once and oh my goodness it's really not easy to get up there and stare into the lights and say your stuff without sounding stiff or nervous or rehearsed. People act like they have a right to criticize rather than providing useful feedback, but they're mostly not brave enough to take a risk like that.
Keep it up. I enjoyed this and listened basically twice. At least 1000 people agree with me. That's a pretty big room.

The thing I love about dry bar comedy most of the comedians are really funny in the dry sense of humor sort of way proven you don't have to be crude crass or a cussing nature to be funny! Normal sense of humor people won't get dry sense of humor comedy! 😂

If you're from LA area, that would explain the attitude problems you have to deal with. I was born and raised in Southern California, people seem nicer up here in Sacramento. Not that we don't have our share, but it _is_ better, and I have a wonderful circle of friends up here.
Not sure why the audience was so flat...this guy was pretty funny.

On the very rare occasion that I travel to another state, when I'm driving, I pay attention to how everybody else is driving and I do what they do. Except for road rage. I don't do road rage. I may think it, but I don't do it.😆 And yes, I'm from California, and I do snarl at California drivers. Some of those people just have the dumb.🤪
if I'm ever in a road accident and the other guy's got Cali license plates (I'm from Texas) it'll be a real short altercation. "you hit my car" "whatever dude"

When a comic gets nervous and then defensive telling or preforming his routine because the crowd doesn't laugh at his opening jokes it can be tough to recover it for them all. I thought he was fine. But a bottled water joke in, well hearing it in 2024, is not going to hit the same as back in the 1990's. But I did like his whale joke and the Dakotas one was fair.
I think this show might be funnier if he told his stories in more of a hippy, suffer-dude mono-tone that we expect with "Cali, Baby", instead of sounding like an afraid-I'll-lose-your-attention, high-energy easterner...

Comedy is subjective. I personally found him funny. 😊 Not everyone is going to like every comedian.
I think his delivery was good but the humor was too regional for the audience.
The guys set was actually genius. People in Utah probably didn’t get Andy Kaufman either.

As a Brit from one of the fifth largest cities ;) then some of the cali stuff is a bit harder to vibe with.
But his delivery was decent. I’m more a fan of Larry David, Jimmy Carr, Frankie Boyle, Ricky gervais, and someone which will test your American comedy (even British taste) is Stewart Lee.
California and New York. The states no wants to move to but still act like they do. They're like the old dad that thinks his jokes are funny to teenagers. No one's laughing WITH you. Just at you.
