Great video. It’s very rare to catch footage of them taking a bath. It’s hard to get pictures at all because they so elusive. I can really appreciate this footage.

We used to have a bird bath and loved watching all the birds come down for a drink. Even large vultures. Nowadays the wildlife needs a little help to survive…..
It was a reflection of the algae covering the bottom. There is a constant very slow drip into the bath. It amounts to around 1 quart per day, keeps the water fresh (and clear) and the movement attracts birds. Water will attract more birds than will bird feeders as there are many birds that don't come to feeders but will come to water for a drink and/or a bath.
