She starts the movie, she narrates the beginning and end, she’s out tour guide through the spider society, she gets back with her father after he was about to arrest her, and she ends the movie by putting together a band. It’s a complete story about Gwen. I love that movie so damn much bro omg

Guardians of the Galaxy is honestly one of if not my favorite movie of all time, and I will defend that statement. I have never felt so many things for as long as I did coming out of a Marvel movie until that film. Spider-Verse was also really, really good.
I think what's making comic book movies die out is possibly the over saturation of the genre and the writing just feeling not as fresh especially in this age of cinematic universes. In fact personally I'd say the one element that made a lot of these movies suffer is that there's this great idea to give the characters a much more personal story but it gets treated like an after thought. In fact the movies you have as your Top 4 personally enjoyed out of the other ones you mentioned here because the cast and crew knew what type of movie they were making which was not just another comic book movie. And I think that's what a lot of upcoming comic book movies and shows need to focus on which focus less on the quantity and more on the quality. Make the stories personal, give your audience a reason to care about seeing these characters again.
I think you meant superhero movies."comic book movies" are more than just superheroes. David Finchers THE KILLER was a comic book movie. The animated science fantasy film nimona was also a comic book movie.

My top list for superhero movie in 2023 1: Flash 2:Spider-Man: Across the Spider verse 3:Veeran 4:Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 5:Blue Beetle 6:Shazam fury of the gods 7:Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania 6:The Marvels 7:Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom 8:Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 9:Merry Little Batman
The studios are so quick to rush comic movies out and they never really tell a story people connect to and are invested in and that's the reason Spider Man works so well they take their time and tell great stories that you can become invested in
if anything i’d like these videos to be longer! i’d love to hear you casually talking about these movies in a ranked video setting outside of reviews, just longer. :)
My favorite is Across the SpiderVerse because it perfects every character in the SpiderVerse and made me have an awesome time at the theaters 10/10 movie
1. The Marvels/Across the Spiderverse. 2. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 3. Blue Beetle / Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. Are My Favorite Comicbook Movies
again another banger, Chris you uploaded 2 insanely good videos in less than 2 hours. My list goes, 8 Ant man 3. 7 Shazam 2, 6 The marvels, 5 the flash , 4 blue beetle 3, guardians 3, 2 TMNT mutant mayhem, 1 Spiderman - Across the spider-verse. Did not watch aqua man 2
I’m glad that there won’t be as many comic book movies releasing next year. While I am a sucker for comic book movies, it’s hard to deny that there are so many now and I can’t help but feel burnt out from it all
My favorite is definitely guardians of the galaxy 3. The effects and music and just the movie itself is hard to rival. James Gunn made gotg 3 a classic in my eyes
9. Aquaman 2 (Haven't seen it so it's here by default lol) 8. Shazam 2; did not like this... at all 7. Ant Man Quantumania; Decently entertaining movie let down by a terrible ending 6. The Marvel's; pretty much everything you said, but I love Kamala's character and I appreciated how the post credits scene actually feels like it's setting up the next movie instead of something that might never get made 5. Blue Beetle; solid movie, nothing special 4. TMNT MM; has all the charm and talent of Spiderverse, I just didn't vibe with the script as much 3. The Flash; this had a really solid script, ton of fun, but I understand why people don't like it 2. Across the Spider-Verse; brilliant movie, just can't rate it higher since it's a Part One 1. GotG Vol 3; I've been cried this much in a movie theatre... this movie ripped my heart out of my chest so many times, but I loved it the most since it finally gave us an ending in an age where seemingly everything is constantly setting up endless sequels and multiverses...
Another great video 3C, but when it comes to comic book films experiencing diminishing returns I think James Gunn said pretty well there isn’t Superhero fatigue people tired of bad and mediocre films which is causing the lack of interest and leading underperforming films due too audiences being unwilling to give it a chance without proper word of mouth
I honestly think that they need to give people more time to work on superhero movies. Since Covid, a lot of the Marvel movies, even if I liked them, felt rushed at some point or another. It’s like they had a checklist or something, which isn’t bad, but it shouldn’t come off like that. Superheroes are my main special interest, and I’ve loved Marvel since I was a five when GotG 1 come out, so I feel like they just need more time. If directors and writers and everybody else working on not just superhero movies but movies in general were given more time, a lot of the movies would be better and wouldn’t feel similar or just the same thing over and over again. Though, I didn’t watch the TMNT movie yet, I feel like GotG 3, Across the Spider-Verse, and Blue Beetle were still pretty awesome compared to the other ones.
My ranking: (9/10) 1. Spiderman: Across the Spiderverse: No comment (8/10) 2. The Flash: Simultaneously the most underated and most overhated film of the year. 3. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3: Great way to end the trilogy. 4. TMNT: Mutant Mayhem: Good way to reboot the franchise. (7/10) 5. Blue Beetle: Generic but fun 6. Shazam!: Fury of the Gods: Same as Blue Beetle (6/10) 7. Scooby-Doo and Krypto Too!: Just another Scooby-Doo film, but now with some DC fan service to boot. 8. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom: Not the best way to end the DCEU, but it was still fun. 9. Legion of Superheroes: Pretty good first half, but kinda lame second half 10. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania: Not awful, but a weak way ro introduce Kang. (5/10) 11. Spiderman Lotus: Ideas were better in concept than in execution. (2/10) 12. Knights of the Zodiac: It's worse than Dragonball Evolution. I mean it
Guardians 3 is a top 3 marvel movie for me. All the emotions I went through while watching the movie were something I haven’t felt since avengers infinity war. Such a well put together film. We’ll miss u drax 😢
I don't know why the MCU is getting so much hate right now. I still love the MCU! And I really enjoyed movies like the marvels, ant man quantumania, etc! Cuz i'm not too picky! I just want to see a really cool superhero movie! I don't worry about how a movie does in the box office, or the little mistakes in a movie that aren't even noticeable. It's such a shame other people worry too much about that stuff. Cuz we had so many great superhero movies this year! But people just don't appreciate them for the dumbest reasons. But I do agree on one thing. The MCU SHOULD finally get rebooted! And same with DC! Shazam 2, aquaman 2, and blue beetle were all incredible! And in terms of animated movies, TMNT MM was great! But THE BEST movie of the year in my opinion has to be spiderverse! It's the best movie of the year! Period!
My list 9: The marvels, I really did not enjoy this film and just found it boring and was not invested 8: Ant man 3, it was entertaining at best but was just a huge setup for kang and he really didn’t feel very menacing for me 7: Shazam fury of the gods, entertaining but just another mid comic book movie, I found the first one a lot better 6: Blue beetle, it was entertaining, decent story but just another superhero movie formula but overall pretty good 5: Aquaman 2, action was great, it was shot very well but the thing that made me really get disappointed was that the whole entire movie was about setting up David and how he is so much stronger but in the final fight he is dead in 5 minutes, just a waste of the movie for me, the action really carried this one 4: The flash, pretty decent story, fun time had many cgi flaws and a weird ending I enjoyed the action and Micheal Kenton’s Batman carried this for me Top 3 is where the movies get good 3: TMNT Mutant Mayhem, really really loved this film, I was invested, it was funny and as a teenager myself it was fun to watch and the story was really good and overall just really fun movie 2: Guardians of the galaxy, man..this was a very funny film but also a very dark film, my expectations were very good for this film but this hit it out of the park, I was so invested and so anxious for it to end because I didn’t want to see some of my favorite characters leave but they did and awesome job 1: of course..Across the Spider verse, this film is so close to being perfect it is truly one of the best films of all time in my opinion and everything about it, the story, the characters, the villain, the action were all just amazing and of course the soundtrack was amazing and really elevated the movie as a whole, I really loved how the multiverse stuff didn’t become confusing and was handled really well and i was so so invested and never wanted it to end. Truly and amazing movie
I think the cinematic universe dynamic, especially now, is hurting comic book movies. Why I think Across the Spiderverse, Guardians 3, and Mutant Mayhem were hits was because they feel like sequels and original movies in their own universe, rather than just being a payoff to a setup movie while being a setup movie itself
I’ve only seen tmnt, flash, Spider-Man, and the guardians this year. And for me my ranking would like this. 1. TMNT it was fun, unique and I had a good time with it 2. Guardians, personally I haven’t been the biggest fan of these films but I did find the final entry to be the most enjoyable. The arcs that the characters go through definitely made the movie stand out 3. Spider-Man it was cool the animation was great just like the first one but personally I found the first’s one story more enjoyable 4. Flash was honestly just ok I was more hyped about seeing Keaton as Batman once again as he’s arguably my favorite LA iteration of the character. Story wise it could have been better I’m sure everyone would have liked it better if it was a flashpoint movie but the biggest sin is the ending had they finished the film with Barry going back and letting things play out but I guess he ended up not having any character development and decided to throw it out the window
Tomorrow I will Go to a trip with all my cousins and I need to sleep early and now its 3 AM in the middle of the night and my lazy A!s is watching you bc of how amazing your vids are
The reason why comic book movies are doing so poorly now is because the scripts are terrible. Hollywood executives think they can just throw any old hero into a movie and people will see it.
I would honestly say that this is probably the perfect list and exactly what I would put. The one thing I would switch up is Aquaman with the flash. Everything else is perfect.
Probably because most comic book movies sometimes grab out the same tropes over and over again or that or it’s either connected to some cinematic universe and you have to watch hand full of movies and TV shows to understand it

Perfect timing. Been requesting a Spidey Cringetro for a few years now. Harry finds a hobo(Cris) in the Osborn mansion at the end of Spidey 2 instead of the Goblin’s lair. Cris: Is it Pizza Time Yet?
Man, it is weird that there's still one MCU and one DCEU movie that came out this year that I haven't seen. I used to be there opening weekend for EVERY one.
My Kind Of Like To Best Comic Book Movie: 9) Shazam 2 8) The Marvels 7) Blue Beetle 6) The Flash 5) Ant-Man 3 4) Guardians 3 3) Aquaman 2 2) Spider Man 1) Ninja Turtles
I honestly think that spiderverse actually took a smaller step back, 2099s odd suit, doing scarlet so dirty, that odd strain with Gwen and miles, a lot of the characters don’t feel as faithful to the comics, and that goes for many movies this year. I guess I just wasn’t feeling it, great list tho
I loved Blue Beetle I read the comic book before watching the movie I loved both of them, also I agree Across the Spiderverse was definitely the best comic book film of the year!!!
Honestly, I don´t know how to rank the flash movie beacause personally my opinion is that people on the internet hate it and call it trash for the bad effects but I watched it kind of ignoring the effects and I actually liked it. BUT there is also the other half of me that really loves the animated flashpoint movie, who was really exited to hear that the movie would be based on the flashpoint story and would have preffered for the alterante batman to be bruces´ father because honestly I fely micheal keaton wasn´t really necessary and even more with the fact that it was just to have him die in a whole loop at the end of the day, also include the war between the atlantians and the amazons instead of not even having them appear. The supergirl replecement I don´t mind because i found it fun and kind of interesting the idea and reality in wich zod caught up to kal el before reaching earth. So as I said I don´t really know how to rank the flash becasue there is one side of me that really likes the movie but there is also the half that just plain and flatout likes it but wishes they would have gone another direction in some story points
Oversaturation is the leading cause to the death of the comic book movie. And it's not just the movies; it's the shows as well. If they would only release one or two movies a year and one series a year, then we would have some time to get hyped up for them, whereas when we are getting something new every month, we just don't have the hype we would if we had to wait for more.
Honestly, I had more fun with DC than Marvel this year. I did really enjoy GOTG3 but Blue Beetle and Aquaman 2 were one of my favorite theater experiences. The Flash and Shazam 2 were alright, but I would rank Aquaman 2 higher than The Flash lol
My favorite comic book movies for this year were tmnt mutant mayhem and guardians of the galaxy 3. I think not as much people are excited to see comic book movies any more because companies are doing quantity over quality when it comes to these movies
I think the reason these movies aren’t doing so good is cause everyone wants endgame level films now. You can no longer have a generic superhero movie anymore. It has to do something remarkable.
Goth vol 3 to me was so meaningful because my first ever marvel movie was GotG vol 2. AtSV had the theme of my favorite superhero Spider-Man explored through Miles, Gwen, and others while having amazing animation. The reason why comic books movies are dying out is the lack of originality, over used CGI in every scene, and poor character developments!

4:Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3
5:Blue Beetle
6:Shazam fury of the gods
7:Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania
6:The Marvels
7:Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom
8:Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
9:Merry Little Batman
The studios are so quick to rush comic movies out and they never really tell a story people connect to and are invested in and that's the reason Spider Man works so well they take their time and tell great stories that you can become invested in
if anything i’d like these videos to be longer! i’d love to hear you casually talking about these movies in a ranked video setting outside of reviews, just longer. :)
My favorite is Across the SpiderVerse because it perfects every character in the SpiderVerse and made me have an awesome time at the theaters 10/10 movie
For me:
3. TMNTMM
2. Spider-man Across the spider verse
1. GOTG 3
1. The Marvels/Across the Spiderverse.
2. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3
Did not watch aqua man 2
Best RUclipsr right here 🤝
I never comment but I always watch the full videos love hearing ur opinions on movies n shows awesome channel
I’m glad that there won’t be as many comic book movies releasing next year. While I am a sucker for comic book movies, it’s hard to deny that there are so many now and I can’t help but feel burnt out from it all
First to comment. Love you bro love watching your videos. You’re a great RUclipsr and can’t wait to see more.
Na twas me
@@pwolv no dog you wrong
na man i was first@@theoffice072
Thanx Chris!! Keep it coming ❤
Your number one is on point. Can’t wait for the third movie. (Also the soundtrack produced by metro is probably my #1 album of the year)
My favorite is definitely guardians of the galaxy 3. The effects and music and just the movie itself is hard to rival. James Gunn made gotg 3 a classic in my eyes
9. Aquaman 2 (Haven't seen it so it's here by default lol)
8. Shazam 2; did not like this... at all
7. Ant Man Quantumania; Decently entertaining movie let down by a terrible ending
6. The Marvel's; pretty much everything you said, but I love Kamala's character and I appreciated how the post credits scene actually feels like it's setting up the next movie instead of something that might never get made
5. Blue Beetle; solid movie, nothing special
4. TMNT MM; has all the charm and talent of Spiderverse, I just didn't vibe with the script as much
3. The Flash; this had a really solid script, ton of fun, but I understand why people don't like it
2. Across the Spider-Verse; brilliant movie, just can't rate it higher since it's a Part One
1. GotG Vol 3; I've been cried this much in a movie theatre... this movie ripped my heart out of my chest so many times, but I loved it the most since it finally gave us an ending in an age where seemingly everything is constantly setting up endless sequels and multiverses...
Another great video 3C, but when it comes to comic book films experiencing diminishing returns I think James Gunn said pretty well there isn’t Superhero fatigue people tired of bad and mediocre films which is causing the lack of interest and leading underperforming films due too audiences being unwilling to give it a chance without proper word of mouth
another day another W chris banger
Quantumania, Blue Beetle,Guardians 3, The Marvels, Spider-Verse and TMNT were my fav comic book movies this year
I honestly think that they need to give people more time to work on superhero movies.
My ranking:
(9/10)
1. Spiderman: Across the Spiderverse: No comment
(8/10)
2. The Flash: Simultaneously the most underated and most overhated film of the year.
3. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3: Great way to end the trilogy.
4. TMNT: Mutant Mayhem: Good way to reboot the franchise.
(7/10)
5. Blue Beetle: Generic but fun
6. Shazam!: Fury of the Gods: Same as Blue Beetle
(6/10)
7. Scooby-Doo and Krypto Too!: Just another Scooby-Doo film, but now with some DC fan service to boot.
8. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom: Not the best way to end the DCEU, but it was still fun.
9. Legion of Superheroes: Pretty good first half, but kinda lame second half
10. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania: Not awful, but a weak way ro introduce Kang.
(5/10)
11. Spiderman Lotus: Ideas were better in concept than in execution.
(2/10)
12. Knights of the Zodiac: It's worse than Dragonball Evolution. I mean it
I’m never this early! Great video
Top 3 comic book movies this year
#3 TMNT mutan mayhem
#2 Spiderman across the spider verse
#1 guardians of the galaxy vol 3
love your videos btw!
Period!
I think overuse of cgi and just a no serious tone just feels like a joke
What do you guys think was better What If season one, or What if season two?
My list
9: The marvels, I really did not enjoy this film and just found it boring and was not invested
8: Ant man 3, it was entertaining at best but was just a huge setup for kang and he really didn’t feel very menacing for me
7: Shazam fury of the gods, entertaining but just another mid comic book movie, I found the first one a lot better
6: Blue beetle, it was entertaining, decent story but just another superhero movie formula but overall pretty good
5: Aquaman 2, action was great, it was shot very well but the thing that made me really get disappointed was that the whole entire movie was about setting up David and how he is so much stronger but in the final fight he is dead in 5 minutes, just a waste of the movie for me, the action really carried this one
4: The flash, pretty decent story, fun time had many cgi flaws and a weird ending I enjoyed the action and Micheal Kenton’s Batman carried this for me
Top 3 is where the movies get good
3: TMNT Mutant Mayhem, really really loved this film, I was invested, it was funny and as a teenager myself it was fun to watch and the story was really good and overall just really fun movie
2: Guardians of the galaxy, man..this was a very funny film but also a very dark film, my expectations were very good for this film but this hit it out of the park, I was so invested and so anxious for it to end because I didn’t want to see some of my favorite characters leave but they did and awesome job
1: of course..Across the Spider verse, this film is so close to being perfect it is truly one of the best films of all time in my opinion and everything about it, the story, the characters, the villain, the action were all just amazing and of course the soundtrack was amazing and really elevated the movie as a whole, I really loved how the multiverse stuff didn’t become confusing and was handled really well and i was so so invested and never wanted it to end. Truly and amazing movie
Love your videos and I agree with you almost completely I hope that 2024 ones are good
YESS FINALLY COMIC BOOK MOVIES!!
Chris PLEASEEE watch when evil lurks, you'll love it
I’ve only seen tmnt, flash, Spider-Man, and the guardians this year. And for me my ranking would like this.
1. TMNT it was fun, unique and I had a good time with it
2. Guardians, personally I haven’t been the biggest fan of these films but I did find the final entry to be the most enjoyable. The arcs that the characters go through definitely made the movie stand out
3. Spider-Man it was cool the animation was great just like the first one but personally I found the first’s one story more enjoyable
I can dig your lineup.
Across, Volume 3, and Mutant Mayhem were the comic book movies I loved this year...
Probably because most comic book movies sometimes grab out the same tropes over and over again or that or it’s either connected to some cinematic universe and you have to watch hand full of movies and TV shows to understand it
0:00 Intro

4:42 Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (Number 6)

10:45 Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Number 1)
12:02 Outro
The video is 8 mins long lol
Perfect timing. Been requesting a Spidey Cringetro for a few years now.
Harry finds a hobo(Cris) in the Osborn mansion at the end of Spidey 2 instead of the Goblin’s lair.
Cris: Is it Pizza Time Yet?
Guardians 3
Spider-Man
Blue Beetle
TMNT were my favorite movies.
Guardians is definitely my number one. I haven’t been that emotional during a comic book movies since Tony Starks, death.
Can’t argue at all with this list. I can’t argue with any of the picks.
My ranking is Shazam 2, Flash Ant Man 3, Marvels, Blue Beetle, Gotg Vol 3, Tmnt MM, Atsv but i get your reasoning 👍
I loved Blue Beetle I read the comic book before watching the movie I loved both of them, also I agree Across the Spiderverse was definitely the best comic book film of the year!!!
Another great comic book film this year is David Fincher’s The Killer. Not really a superhero film but definitely comic booky vibe.
It was based on a comic.
Totally agree with you about Spiderman. Best best movie, I was blown the graphics
For me my top 5 of this year is
5.aquaman 2
4.shazam 2
3.guardians 3
2.spiderman across the spiderverse
1.for me it's the flash
You mean across.beyond isn’t out yett
@@Ugh-r8m you knew what I meant
Dropping quality is killing comic book movies. If they're good (The Batman/ Invincible) they succeed.
I agree with Chris, Across the Spider-Verse is my favorite movie of this year
Oversaturation is the leading cause to the death of the comic book movie. And it's not just the movies; it's the shows as well. If they would only release one or two movies a year and one series a year, then we would have some time to get hyped up for them, whereas when we are getting something new every month, we just don't have the hype we would if we had to wait for more.
Fried af right now realizing I deadass have watched every 3c video for the past 3 years 🤯
Honestly, I had more fun with DC than Marvel this year.
End was the peak that’s why.. now everything gotta be like that.
I think the reason these movies aren’t doing so good is cause everyone wants endgame level films now. You can no longer have a generic superhero movie anymore. It has to do something remarkable.
