Wow! The food looks good. I am Jamaican, and I do make some of the best food in the world. You should try the cakes and pudding. Man, you have to take a trip to South Florida. Jerk is the most spicy.
I’m always nervous to go somewhere new that I don’t know what to order, but that chicken looks so good. Now I’m headed to find Jamaican in my area haha😅
Let me know what you think…everybody love Jamaican food…it’s really a blend of Western European Spanish African and Chinese food…Spaniards owned the island first then the English took it over and brought in African slaves chinese indentured servants and Indians indentured servants….crazy because my grandfather is a white Scottsman my grandmother is Indian and my mothers father is black and her mother is Chinese 😂😂😂
Wow that looks delicious!🔥 Would love to try Jamaican food soon, maybe I can find some authentic Jamaican food in Texas. Sending you many blessings Jervonte🙏 -Evelyn🦚
@@karkule5919 yes the heck you can. Weh ya talk bout? I can use my eyes alone and spot a good set of Jamaican food from a mile away; and u best believe the look will correlate with the taste. I’ve been doing this a very long time .
@jervontewashere That has nothing to do with Miss Lauren Hill. Jamaicans have been eating patties with cocoa bread before I was born and I am sixty years old. We usually have the cocoa bread with the patty if we are really hungry or for dinner especially on a Friday when we don't want to cook. 😂🇯🇲🇱🇷
You should do another Mexican food video. Idk if the place you go too have gorditas but those are my absolute favorite. You can order chicharron, al pastor and fajita. If they don’t have gorditas you can try them on tacos. Some places also give you a cup of frijoles charros when you order those are hella fire too. Greetings from Mexico 🔥
When you get the jerk chicken. Always get the jerk sauce on the chicken and on the side my boy. You got white meat so you need some sauce or next time ask for dark meat. That thang spicy I hear you sniffing 😭😂😂
It’s about good food being in the hood not Jamaican food specifically. I said the same thing about Chinese food and a classic NY bacon egg and cheese. that was the point.
Not only do we eat oxtail with our hands we suck the bone cleaner. Mac and cheese to Jamaican this more for American thinng. The chicken shouldn't be dry thats an L. Oxtaiil use to be cheap not no more. Good video
I grew up in Jamaica and we made Mac n cheese all my life. The best Mac n cheese I’ve ever had btw with the bread crumbs layer on top. How have you never heard of Mac n cheese???
Jerked chicken should not really fall off the bone unless it is done over a pimento pit. If it is pan-jerked it tends to have a bit of driedness, both are still authentic. Jerked chicken or pork should be spicey, if not then it isn't really authentic and is more so a ripoff. Jerk chicken, as well, is not done in an oven, that is baked chicken with jerk seasoning dressed in barbeque sauce.
U eating the real thing . As real as it gets. Don't know about that dark chicken tho bro. I like my meat dark that just a bit to dark fi mi. Love the oxtail look tho. Hell I just season up some. Listen Jamaican not all eat that Mac and cheese stuff hell I don't even know what that more time with thinking for a bit. Lol
Beef patty goes with coco bread
The food looks good and their is a lot of Jamaicans in the east coast and Florida.
Jamaicans cook some of the best oxtails that is one of their signature dishes

Thanks Evelyn 🙏🏾
Jamaican here and also a great Jamaican cook. yes, this is pretty authentic.
You can't say authentic based on looks, it's all about the taste.

@@dr.t383 You can pick any cuisine you like, the good looks of the food does NOT always mean the food taste good. Jamaican or not.
This looks so fire. I haven't had Jamaican food but ik beef patty goes w coco bread bc of Lauryn Hill.
Ohh that’s what it is! ok gotchu!

never had jamaican goat, but mexican goat is great. if you ever feel like making the drive again, i'm thinking the goat'd be worth trying.

Wow 2 hour drive, wow that’s dedication - here I am sat watching this in the U.K. and I have maybe 20 Caribbean food shops within a 15 minute drive.
As a Londoner with no Jamaican blood in me I can honestly say Jamaican food is the best in the world for me there's nothing I do not like😋😋
I like that you mentioned earthy flavors - umami, maybe.

Thanks for the info I’m mad ignorant when it comes to Jamaican food tbh
Bruh why you say you not Jamaican and be like "still a likkle bit dry" that is authentic Jamaican accent and pronunciation
I heard that too.
Maybe him from Africa or another Caribbean country
Jerk chicken is supposed to be a little dry. If you like it moist then you’ll prefer brown stewed chicken.
Next time try some manish water, ackee and saltfish, curried goat , saltfish or mackerel run down.😅
Manish water and Mackerel run down not sure that deh US yet
My favorite place in Charlotte! And it’s in the hood! 😂😂
Facts lol sometimes you gotta go where you gotta go
bro there is a lot more jamaican influence around u than u would even realize, for instance Hip-Hop is very much a product of jamaican influence
Jamaican food first time 2024 is wild. My Connecticut city has 20 Jamaican spots.. solo trip Jamaica last week. Video up
No, you really don’t equate being in Jamaica with being in the hood…totally different vibes my youth! 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲❤️

Jerk is supposed to be a little dry because it’s done over a grill.
Never even heard of mac and cheese till I came to the states
That’s wild!

Mac and cheese definitely American dish

That’s real Jamaican food coming from someone that always eat it and cook it.
You can suck the bone as well. And yes, u eat the oxtail with your hands
It’s not white bread it’s coco bread coconut bread.
You should try Dominican food.
looks ledgitimate. Cabbage looks soggy though. My mouth is watering for that oxtail dinner.
U COULD JUST FLY OUT KETCH A FLIGHT FR DWN SOUTH INSTEAD OF DRIVING 🚘
ITS WAY FASTER KETCHN A FLIGHT N THE FOOD IS OUT OF SIGHT
That chef over cook the chicken that's why u get that kinda dry!!! Been left on the grill for too long.
Listen the food is good to phat up the girls Dem back lol.
NY? New York where? That you had to drive two hours? Poor baby. SMH
He mentioned NY cause there’s a lot of West Indies people there. He didn’t say he was in NY.
Mac and cheese isn’t a Jamaica thing , it’s rice and peas ……the jerk chicken shouldn’t be dry next time try the jerk pork
We had Mac n cheese in Jamaica throughout my life living in Jamaica. It was more of a casserole.
Authentic jerk chicken is dry .
that Jerk chicken isnt fully authentic, adding what looks like bbq sauce to it.... NO
U can't eat jamaican food and talk. lol, it's too good. No talking, just eating 😅
, £30 sounds a lot for a plate , wouldn’t expect to pay no more then £15, maybe different rice rates in the states
Oxtails is very expensive by the pound so that’s close to average price in some states like Florida
Jamaican Mac n Cheese... No, not that great at it. African American Mac n Cheese... be kicking!!
