I just happened to have all the ingredients including the Meati cutlet. Wow. Great recipe. My wife said the sauce was so good she could drink it! LOL. I served it with mashed potatoes and roasted asparagus.
Firm tofu once frozen and defrosted will develop a stringy texture that somewhat mimics meat fiber. A block of tofu sliced in half will give you two cutlets. I may try this recipe with tofu cutlets : ) Thank you Jill.
I fiddled with this a bit because I was missing some ingredients. I made it with tofu but added sliced mushrooms too. And put some diced tomatoes instead of the sun dried. But OH MY WORD this was so good! We ate it over rice. I’m going to try this sauce in various ways, I’m already imagining it as a creamy sauce on pasta or stuffed shells. Thanks, yum yum yum.
I made this tonight & it was very good. Especially the sauce. Next time I will make it with tofu instead of the fake chick’n. I’m vegetarian but not a big fan of fake meat. Thanks for the recipe! I’ll be trying more from your channel.
Thank you so much for this DELICIOUS recipe!! We had it tonight with brown rice. We put some of the sauce over the rice. Wonderful. comfort food and so EASY to make. I will probably soak the cashews next time as my blender isn't the most powerful. YUM !
OMG! I made this last night with tofu and mushrooms in place of Meati and now I have to marry myself! 🤣 This is seriously goooood. I see myself making this sauce frequently to pour over vegetables, potatoes, rice... Thank you for another terrific recipe.
Oooh, I made this tonight. It seems impossible that such simple ingredients make such an incredible sauce. I'm single (darn) and made the full sauce amount and baked 1/2 with one (another brand) cutlet. I know I'll find another use for the leftover. My tomatoes were a bit crispier than I'd like, so I think next time I'll put them under the "chicken" with the garlic and let them get soft and juicy. I think this would be super with mashed potatoes, but since I had some already cooked I baked some cubed, boiled potatoes along side and just so yummy!
it looks delicious ! I love the sauce ! I haven't try the chicken Meati but I tried the beef Meati. It's quite unbelievable ! the texture and the taste. I wish there were some info about where the mushrooms they use come from ! which country etc... Mushrooms can be contaminated especially wild mushrooms.
They grow only the mycelium using spores in huge stainless steel vats similar to beer making vats. They explain everything on their website. It is fascinating meati.com/
I made this recipe this evening with Quorn and fine green beans on the stove top. The sauce was very tasty despite my forgetting the wine vinegar, I also added a little vegan cream near the end to stretch the sauce. I served this with roasted potatoes and Brussel sprouts. It reminded me of a dish I used to make before I became vegan. Thank you.
Meati products are great! I've tried the breaded chicken style, and carne asada. The chicken one was perfect, but I will say the carne asada was far too tender, and practically fell apart. I think they've really got something as far as the chicken replacements go!
I made this and it was really delicious! (I used “chicken” seitan cutlets that I made earlier in the day using Plant Based Bistro’s “Easiest low fat ‘chicken’ seitan recipe.”) Definitely making it again. Thank you.
This was a great recipe. I used Gardien chicken strips as I don't have access to the cutlets. The sauce was truly amazing. Served it with rice and roasted vegetables - this recipe is a keeper! Thanks for sharing
Do you think meati classic steaks would be a good substitute for variety … or do you have a different sauce in mind for that? I love meati and recently got diagnosed with hypothyroidism… soy (aka tofu) is no good for me now
Tried this with breaded meati cutlets. My non vegan son said he liked it, but I thought the texture of the meati was kinda like chewing a piece of paper towel. Baking dish I used was 13 x9, so thought maybe got overcooked. Tried with tofu. It was delicious. Think I could get addicted to this
I love this recipe. The Meatli cutlets at Sprouts were frozen. Should I thaw them out before cooking or is the cooking time based on them being frozen? Thanks for sharing. My whole Christmas meal is based on your recipes. You are a blessing!
Hi there- I hadn't heard of Meati - do they taste like mushrooms at all? I have some asparagus and am going to make this tonight with asparagus! (but I am going to use Tofu)
Hi, I love your show and have been watching your videos for many years and enjoying them (both the recipes and your easy going, calm manner!!!) so firstly thank you so much and keep up the good work ❤ I wanted to ask, please, could you let me know what your workout routine is? As I’m on a bit of an ongoing health journey, and want to incorporate healthy movement in alongside the healthy whole foods 😋🎉🏃♀️
Do you have a substitute you can recommend for the sun-dried tomatoes? I've never enjoyed the texture. The only salty thing I can think of is olives and that doesn't seem right.
Jill are the Meati cutlets oil free? I tried the steak Meati and it was great and had no oil but I remember reading that the cutlets and the asada version had oil I think. Looks delicious

Where did you find the Meati cutlet? What store? Thanks!
Whole Foods had them for me… ask the customer service folks
Trying this tonight with tofu! I’ll comment underneath how it goes 🤍
Please do. I want to try this with tofu as well. 😊
Following, I also want to know
Gonna do exactly that too!
Well?
I have all the ingredients except the “meat”. But I do have tofu. How’d it turn out?

jeff is one lucky guy haha!
We just last night made tacos with Meati's Carne asada. We loved it. Very impressive.
I made the fire cider….. whoosh!!! It’s good!!, very flavourful…. Better than Just ACV & lemon… 🤗

For now, I’m going to try the “Marry Me Tofu” 🤫
This was a nice recipe and so simple to make. We used tofu and served with pasta.
They’re all good but my very favorite is the crispy one. So scrumptious 😋
Yay! Thank you again! Very excited to try this recipe. I’ve been loving Meati products!
Yummmy

Awww, I’m so glad you enjoy the show 😊
Jeff and I walk between 3 & 4 miles every day and do yoga before bed 👍
🌱🕊💚 Wow! Looks amazing! Thanks Jill! Do you think white beans would swap well instead of the cashews?
Hmm, interesting idea. I’m not sure
Is it organic? We are vegan and organic so wondering
