RESPONDING TO ALL COMMENTS: First, thank you to Animal for putting together this great video. They always do a fantastic job providing knowledge to the public and sharing our personal experiences. Next, thank you to all of you who took time to watch our Huge on a Hundred video. To those who chose to see this as a less than up to par, or had a negative comment speculating that I'm using DNP..... I will publicly state that I have NEVER touched, seen, nor taken DNP haha that's rat poison for crying out loud! Nobody should take that!! Besides that.. what Animal and I were trying to illustrate with this video was not the general concept "Huge" on a hundred. We were taking a different approach as to an IFBB Pro bodybuilder who is already done the work to get "Huge"... but be at an all time low calorie intake. What you see is exactly what my food looked like on a daily basis for a short period of time. Now, did I ever increase it within the weeks leading up to the show, sure. How my body responds to food is how we dictate what foods I eat or don't eat. This video showed you (the viewer) what a contest ready IFBB Pro bodybuilder diet "may" look like if on super low calories. It would be easy to copy a similar style of food and show you how to eat massive amounts of calories (whether good or bad for you), but we thought you (the fans) would appreciated this. I know the other athletes want to provide you with the best and most honest information that they can, and as do I! Not many months ago was I in your shoes. I watched these Animal videos like "Big on a Budget" and "Huge on a Hundred" to gather information and motivation knowing that with hard work and dedication, that I could be there too. Look what happened... I'm now able to share with you my life, my experience, my motivation. Take it or leave it. But I hope to leave you with honesty and integrity so that you may appreciate the content that myself and the other athletes are providing for you. If you want me to do another "Huge on a Hundred" or "Big on a Budget" incorporating foods I may eat in the off season (but not pre-contest) then I hope we can make it happen for you! Let's build a positive bodybuilding community and forget the negative.
I don't know why everyone is freaking out. If you add oatmeal to breakfast, and rice to the other meals it's the same as every other bodybuilding diet you see. If you were eating this low carb at the time I assume you were doing a little bit of digging before your show. I enjoyed the video.
Thanks for the vid guys. I really like seeing Derek, he is going to do well in the sport. He had a great year and is def going to be doing some damage very soon!
You know what, I really think this is a GREAT video. Usually the BB brag about how much they can spend in a week. This $100 budget is a very refreshing change! Great work and thanks for sharing Derek.
Quick question... First, context: John Kiefer said a while ago that it is possible to be in ketosis while having some carbs, but that "it was a form of art" (namely, it is not easy). This diet usually works well for me until I reach the desired look (both uncanny an cool to see somebody else doing it verbatim, by the way). I still have one variable that I need to work out though... So here's the question: Would you eat those carbs on NON-TRAINING days too? P.S. Excellent video, work and overall progress Derek.
I appreciate your comment and question Alci. As the show grows closer I may take out the carbs for non training days. What usually happens is that I exclude carbs, but add in a protein/fat meal replacing my post workout meal. So for example, instead of the post workout meal you see in the video, I may have 8-10oz chicken or fish with coconut oil and veggies.
At 60 years old , that what I eat plus , plus head of lettuce's tomato's , I am 163 lbs, 5'7" , no heavy weights , just light dumbbell's , walk 20th steps a day at work, simple !
Iam new to this whole bodybuilding diet and I’ve watched several videos and I can’t figure why nobody uses canned vegetables like green beans. Is there something wrong with it or what’s the deal if somebody could inform me I would appreciate it.
Theres like 0 variation in veggies / carbs. and low in healthy fats. that doesnt even looks like it's gonna hit 2k calories lol. I know it's for contest prep but still seems very low in kcal.
I was asked to show my meal plan.. well there you have it. Yes. I may add in some additional fats, carbs, or veggies.. that just depends how my body responds. This is extremely low cal intake and should not be used for long periods at a time.
You can tell none of these guys have trained natural for any amount of years ...all blown up on gear ..no muscle maturity like you see on guys like back in the 70s 80s
Man, seriously if you already got the gains like this guy and competing at a high level then this is a proper very lean way of shopping. Stop your negative bitching and use your brain towards something good!
This is not "lean" way of shopping this is at the end of his food prep ~1500 calories per day diet. Its not even the diet for the last days of competition prep.
Wait wait wait wait!! Broccoli does have carbs!! So all but your morning egg meal and possibly your protien shake doesn't have carbs! But BRO broccoli HAS carbs too js. Not many but like 5.9 g per cup
i love this series but c mon lets be serious.. First, the name of the series is GET HUGE on a hundred, not starving on a 100. Second, even if you want to show how to diet or starve on a 100, this approach (super low carb, inexistent fat, all protein) will not work for the majority of your audience(naturals). Your body would not be able to sinthetize that much protein, unless you are a pro bodybuilder, doing what ever you can to be competitive(enhancing drugs). Please show more respect for your audience.
Lol, this was a video on how to buy 100 dollars worth of chicken, fish, and egg whites 😂 with literally zero fat, barely any carbs, and one serving of veggies a day, this must be his trying to go from 230 to make 212 in 2 weeks while being miserable protocol
Dude, please research your food. I am only Organic (95% of the time) otherwise you are ingesting in produce and meat it is all insecticides, pesticides, GMO's, Hormones injected in all your meat and poultry, and they also are loaded with antibiotics.... you and spending less but will make it up later in prescription drugs, doctors, and hospitals. Oh sure, it doesn't happen overnight but little by little, your youth will go and you will be left with a full toxic body like you see all around you these days. PLEASE go Organic and you will see and feel the difference....
No, peanut butter is not particularly healthy. Linoleic acid is not good in large quantities. Nor does animal fat do anything particularly different than fats like peanut butter in terms of body composition.
Fats from meats are healthy if taken from meats not farm raised. Additionally all fats (except trans fats) play a role in our body. The only unhealthy fats are hydrogenated fats and trans fats.

Appreciate you Joshua
Hey cuz send me some supps
Derek, f**k the "haters"... they will always hate and leave negative comments. Continue what you are doing and best wishes with everything you do.

I enjoyed the video.
This was interesting and great to see. Man that's a ton of protein. Appreciate the insight into your diet and routine leading up to a show.
Sooner or later I must make a pilgrimage to Marazzo's!
Thanks for the vid guys. I really like seeing Derek, he is going to do well in the sport. He had a great year and is def going to be doing some damage very soon!
Thanks Dusty!
LOL it looks like under 1000kcal starvation diet for 100lb bikini girl..
More of these please, find them interesting and useful. All types , big on a budget, huge on a hundred and no limit. All good Thanks
Hungry on a Hundred....
so accurate
This is probably up to $300 now!
You know what, I really think this is a GREAT video. Usually the BB brag about how much they can spend in a week. This $100 budget is a very refreshing change! Great work and thanks for sharing Derek.
As Evan Centopani would say, " Liquid egg whites are garbage, poor digestibility." 100% agreed!!
Haven’t received my veteran day t shirts. Bought them the day they came out

Mr O now

He can cook rice without a rice cooker, now thats impressive! Not even being facetious
Imagine eating this day in and day out, people who have been there know what's up.
Quad_Day_Everyday it's misery plain and simple
Finally... haha thank you! Only those who been there know.. everyone else speculates.
You can tell homie was on prep at 1:24 that back was already sweaty lol. Great vid!
My mother taught me how to properly drain ground beef so that in fact saves me some money compared to buying extra lean ground beef.
he likes saying boom when he puts his food in the oversized trolley !!!!!!lol
what's name of music from beginning ?
Respect to Derek, I don't have half his mass and I'd be starving by lunchtime on Day 1
Appreciate the positive support. FYI.. this shouldn't be done for long periods at a time. This was just before contest.
Iam new to this whole bodybuilding diet and I’ve watched several videos and I can’t figure why nobody uses canned vegetables like green beans. Is there something wrong with it or what’s the deal if somebody could inform me I would appreciate it.
Too much sodium in canned vegetables.
Research chemicals in the cans lining. Produce section usually has super cheap fresh ones, just freeze em.
you guys never plan for water loss in your protein. Its up to 30%! Needs to be included in the budget!
Will Perry Evan Centopani does
Derek did account for This?
Thanks more vid to watch

Aziz Shavershian yeh that’s what I was thinking ????
You as short as me?
You can tell none of these guys have trained natural for any amount of years ...all blown up on gear ..no muscle maturity like you see on guys like back in the 70s 80s
He's borderline ketogenic with those carbohydrate levels
is this diet for bikini contest or wtf ?
Man, seriously if you already got the gains like this guy and competing at a high level then this is a proper very lean way of shopping. Stop your negative bitching and use your brain towards something good!
This is not "lean" way of shopping this is at the end of his food prep ~1500 calories per day diet. Its not even the diet for the last days of competition prep.
why not eat beef close to the show?? is it bloading ? or perhaps takes your body longer to digest ???
Higher in fats. At this point I'm at my all time low cal intake. Clearly feeding of almost strictly protein.
BIG animal fan but video is a joke clearly on dnp and how can he do a get huge video when his on contest prep? On a key diet?
Wait wait wait wait!! Broccoli does have carbs!! So all but your morning egg meal and possibly your protien shake doesn't have carbs! But BRO broccoli HAS carbs too js. Not many but like 5.9 g per cup
Fiber cuts like 2-3Gs of that buddy
So it’s more like 2-3 g of carbs
Which he will burn with a brisk walk at that size
Wash the Meat beføre you Fry IT man!
Is this gonna get me huuuuuge?
Tilapia nooooooooo
Whats wrong with his breathing?? Is it worth??
100 bucks on chicken & rice?
This guy was not prepared for this which makes this meal prep not true to the purpose of the video.
Lot of diet experts in the comments here..

This dude's sweating like hell, he's on DNP u guess
Nosferatu Zodd under Dnp the face become bloated and full of water retention, but after 3 day the retention goes off and you look dry
it's pure bro science, when on 500mg of DNP - water retention is reduced, don't ask how i know :P

U need bigger calfs G
Look at him now. About to win Mr. Olympia 4 yrs later. Hopefully you did as much progress on your mental health in that amt of time
Why do you always cut off the fat? Fat is good for you.
Jakub Bednarczyk, there's healthy fats like In peanut butter, then there's fat that won't help with getting lean like that fat
No, peanut butter is not particularly healthy. Linoleic acid is not good in large quantities. Nor does animal fat do anything particularly different than fats like peanut butter in terms of body composition.
Drakussian, ok avocado fat if you wanna be specific
What is "healthier" about avocado fat as opposed to something like lard and what do you think is different about body composition effects?
Fats from meats are healthy if taken from meats not farm raised. Additionally all fats (except trans fats) play a role in our body. The only unhealthy fats are hydrogenated fats and trans fats.
