The "Kitchen" referring to the nape of the neck by African Americans is a southern term. You made my day because I hadn't heard anyone speak about the Kitchen" in a long time. Thank you for a smile 😁😁😁😁
You’re hair is your crown and girl you are wearing it! You are so beautiful and you hair is healthy and nice. I will be buying from you. Have a blessed day
To get my "kitchens" to grow, I take a small portion of the longer hair above it and incorporate it into the the twist, plait, or whatever I'm doing. I also, tie that up into the twist, plait above that one! This actually encourages it to grow and eventually won't look like "kitchens".
I grew out my nape area by braiding them on their own. First they just looked like knots and now they’re long enough to be included in the bigger braids…took like 6 months
@@lovinaokoronkwo9142 they are just two tiny short braids at the nape of the neck. They can be unbraided and moisturized once a week until they are long enough to blend in with the rest of the hair
I twist my lil kitchens up in 2 strand twists so that it looks a little more put together like small curls but that also helps that part of my hair hold onto some moisture as well
Your products are unbelievable!🤩 I am so so very happy to have found you! The leave in conditioner is 10/10! Such good quality products! Thank youuuu!👑🏆
I would just like to say that I feel the prices for your products are extremely reasonable. I feel like we get what we pay for and as long as you make quality items the price should be what it is. I haven’t seen TOO many people complain about the price cause I’m sure they understand that. But I just wanted to let you know I agree with and wholeheartedly support your products and pricing.
i was relaxed from 11-22 and for most of that time i had a short kitchen and never knew what to do with it. when i went to college i started leaving it alone. not brushing or combing it, just letting it be. then it became thick and had grown to be about 2 inches. so i continued leaving it alone and it is now the same length as the rest of my hair. it needs to be moisturized more often if it is too short to go in a twist or braid, but other than that it's the same maintenance as the rest of the hair.
@@zara_2403 No, sorry. I wasn't very clear. I'm 25 now. I transitioned for 11 months and have been natural for a year and a half. I have worn protective styles while natural and once when i was transitioning.

Hi Eugenia, keep braiding/plaiting your kitchen in with the longer hairs, and also wrap a scarf or hair band around your hair when you take a bath/shower. Taking these these steps will help the hairs at the nape of your neck grow as long as the rest of your beautiful hairs.
I like the way to twist the front prior to cornrowing your hair. It looks great both ways; however, again I love how you twist it. Also, I think your nape should be left out and that you should continue moisturizing as you are and allow it to grow out unless those are baby hairs. I like how you care for them and sometimes we can't help it if our hairs decide to stay out and away from other hairs. You are doing a great job. I just received your leave in conditioner in the mail today and look forward to using tonight. I also tried your deep conditioner last week and love it. KEEP GOING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Subscribed because you call your nape kitchen like I grew up calling it. When I was younger I used to line (shave/trim) my kitchen. My 13 yr old just asked me to line hers recently. Now that I'm older and I've truly embraced my natural hair, I feel like my kitchen is giving what it's supposed to give. When I'm doing a more "kept" style I just wet, moisturize-LCO, and lay it down with a scarf. I use a little Jam sometimes too. More often though, it's a bunch of tight curls back there.
I literally just did this method two days ago, I freaking LOVE your leave-in conditioner. I’ve already went through 2 bottles 😌🤣 I use that and the aloe Vera oil..❤️😍
I am actually doing a challenge of moringa oil on my daughters hair , let me tell you, It’s just a week but l see some growth. I have been applying the oil everyday on her scalp……. It’s shocking😳😳 l will be uploading video on my channel after 3 weeks. That’s why you love Moringa , it’s really the bomb
I put my kitchen into my individual twists. When it falls out I just make sure to keep it moisturized and it has grown out a lot. I use to leave it out and it always was short doing it that way.
The unkept feeling i think come from the whole nappy and bad hair phrase. Sadly alot of us black people have to relearn alot of derogatory terms about of physical composition. I'm happy you speak it in a concern manner. Nonetheless beautiful hair and video. Most High bless you. Hope we can can remember our saviour who came to die for sins, Jesus Christ of Nazareth, seek him while he may be found, and repent of our sins and the Kingdom of God is at hand. For your kitchen area I recommend you do the same exact process that you do to the rest of your hair to your kitchen and it will also grow so three individual twists; spray apply your conditioner or oil and twist it!!! TRUST and BELIEVE it WILL GROW
I'm gonna try your products soon. I went back to relaxing and am so glad i did. My hair is easier to manage and care for so I'm excited to grow it long being relaxed.
Hi I had to come on and respond to your request. First in my family we call the kitchen peppercorns because that is what the hair looks like 👍🏾 we also call them tiny hairs Quireboys because boys have short hair 🤣 my family are from the West Indies. During the lockdown I just plait those little hairs together by themselves and before long they caught up to the point that they could be included in the bigger long section above. I was really shocked 😮 I kept them well moisturised and now I have no kitchen as you call it. Try it it worked for me. Good Luke 😘 🙏🏽
My kitchen hair area is thick as well. My dad doesn’t like the look of it so when I go to visit, he volunteers to shave it off for me. It just grows right back.
@@wavejackson1112 I’m sorry to hear that….my hair is mid back length and I want to get it to waist length. I have 4b low porosity medium density hair. I have shrinkage just like Eugenia so when I stretch my hair to check the length, it’s always interesting…. I’ve revamped my entire routine - my hair is usually in protective hairstyles. Her products have made my hair feel much much lighter; I started using them in the middle of the second month of having knotless braids. As for you thinking your hair is not growing, what are your routines? Your hair is growing but if you feel you aren’t seeing growth, the rate of breakage is greater than your hair growth, making you feel as if your hair isn’t growing. I’d suggest getting her products - they’re quite easy to apply when having a protective style like knotless braids or faux locs. Learning what styles work for you also help. For example, I can no longer do regular box braids or faux locs because no matter how much I wash my hair and clarify my scalp, the products I use rest at the top of my new growth and they sit in my hair, causing me to have patches of product that won’t wash out. I would also watch EfikZara. I’ve currently infusing an oil mixture that she has on her channel along with a grease mixture. Since my hair is low porosity, I find that sealing my hair off with grease extends my moisturizing routine until Sunday, where I rinse and repeat (literally). I’ve also invested in her literature to have access to her recipes and products. Also check out Indigenous Strandz :) Be consistent with your journey, keep notes if you have to (that’s what I do, in Notion; I have a chart, documentation, and an organized product list).
@@Michelle-pn9xt I’m an adult lol. I don’t take it that seriously……that area of my hair always falls out of my protective styles so I just shave it off.
I bought some of your products yesterday, so excited to try them out! Do you apply the conditioner close to or on your scalp? I’m wondering because I’ve been told to apply leave in conditioner an inch away from my scalp unless I wash my hair every week. What are your thoughts on that?
you apply it to your scalp. which products did you buy btw? i’ve also brought some multiple times they’ve so good and smell amazing. they make your hair so soft and feels so moisturized.
You must have the same hair type i do. I started doing this especially after shampooing coz before I was not using leave in conditioner. But now that I do, it has been so much easier to manage and retain length
@@moonliqx2211 I think that is what is called 🤔. One that does not retain much moisture... leave in conditioner while it's wet, then I do my oils. Is just the best! I used to think water was the issue but it's just what I need more of🙂
@@vanniah1 I think that's high porosity! Low porosity is difficult getting moisture in but once it there it retains high porosity is easy to get water in as well as out like a sponge
I just found out today that I needed to use leave in conditioner! I did two strand twists after washing and conditioning, then I would oil my scalp and use the chebe with shea butter. And as soon as I wake up my ends were thin. I’m literally cutting my ends twice a week. I really hope it was because I wasn’t using leave in conditioner. I’m so angry at myself… my gosh… we’re you cutting your ends like that?
Hi regarding the Kitchen area of your head, I had the same issue and how I helped to grow it out was twisting or braiding it by itself not mixing it with the longer hair and it will grow because mine did, so I should work for you also.
My nape is actually just as long as the rest of the hair on the back of my head but the sides of my nape is very curly and shorter. I just leave it alone tbh. I think if you sweat a lot and have your hair down along your neck and stuff, maybe all the sweat and buildup gets caught up in that hair, and maybe that's why it's not growing out. Idk though. Im probably wrong.
One tip I discovered. You have to protect your hair from rubbing against certain harsh fabrics. Particularly collars, sweaters, etc. The collar of my coat used to shave the back of my hair off every winter. .my beautician pointed out what was causing that. She suggested wearing a silk scarf around my neck to protect the hair from rubbing against wool and other fabrics. When ever I go out in the winter. I will pin the back of my hair up. When I get where I am going. I will let the hair down. that resolved the issue of my coat shaving off the back hairs.
The kitchen: My kitchen is ridiculous. It has very straight hairs and very weird hairs that lay straight and then curl into 4c tight coils. I have to give my kitchen extra care. If I sweat its the first part of my hair to absorb the moistures and get soaking wet and the first part to form tight naps. Over the years I just give this section extra love. Extra deep conditioner - extra prep poo extra leave in extra brushing...Finally == I have just come to love her for who she is. And I don't let other people teasing me bother me. Don't shave it. Love it. Press it. Gell it down.
Lol! What do you know about "kitchen?" Lol! I wasn't expecting that; are your parents from the West Indies because that's what we say in Jamaica.. LOL brought back memories.
I couldn’t wait for a new vid lol . Ima start finger combing my hair to cus we have the same texture & thickness & when I comb my hair omg , lose to much
When using a comb, finger detangle first. Start at your ends, comb those first then keep moving up your strands until you get to the roots,.and be gentle. An other sign if you are loosing a lot of hair during combing, check your ends. Trim any split ends regularly. I trim every two to 3 months and hair growing very nicely.
I have 4a/4b hair. My "kitchens" are 3c curls for some reason. So every time I try to braid them in they always fall out. So I put rubber bands (the ones for little kids) and I braid small box braids. My baby hairs dont fall out that way and the bottom of my hair appears longer because its a smaller section. But don't do it too tight or it will cause traction alopecia.
I put my kitchen and baby hairs into tiny twists then I twist or attach them around the base of the longer braided or twisted section. The kitchen or baby hair twists tend to stay in until the hair grows out, when this happens they tend to be much thicker and longer because they have been getting moisture and protection (reduced friction) from the larger braid
For my "kitchen" which in my culture we call it "grang grang". If i am doing box braids, I include it in but if i don't want to i get gel and put it up. For cornways i do the same thing :) i also straighten it sometimes if i was to straighten
You are just stunning my dear.😍 You remind me of my little grandbaby. But now I'm almost embarrassed to ask, but is there any other way besides your products that can help someone my age who is on a fixed income? I want to try your products so bad but it's just not possible right now.😩😊 I just found your channel and I'm so encouraged. Subscribed!💖
You can make your own! In her past videos she’s shown how she makes her products, but if you can’t find the ingredients you can make your own concoctions with products you have or can afford. The best thing about what she does is that you can just use food products of your choice and use them in place of what she uses and just follow the routine. I used to deep condition with concoctions of aloe and olive or avocado oil or even just condition with it, you can get those for a fair price out of the store. My hair was just as healthy and happy (definitely not that long since I didn’t follow the protective style and finger detangling portion of her routine) with the products I invented for myself. The best thing I ever used was honey, I just mixed it with warm water and vanilla extract -I don’t recommend the vanilla tho- (you can add aloe or whatever you deem fit in the mix)and sprayed it on my hair then twisted it with it.
@@philasopherr I want to thank you for that information. It sounds so healthy. I'm going to try the honey and water and vanilla cuz I have that in my cupboards. Thank you so much.😘

Could you please give tips on how to maintain your protective styles especially twists for weeks especially if you have short hair, my protective styles never last longer than 2 weeks. Thanks

when it falls out the braid i will twist it down or i may just " twirl it around " ( idont know what to call it ) but not loc it , and im also trying to grow it ( the kitchen ) ! and will massage with wild growth oil ! when it gets longer it'll blend easier i have 4c hair too ! love yourss xo
Lovely😍.since my hair reached my waist , I decided not to cornroll any more, it's too much work. I just braid it the whole head and wear it out like that, my kitchen is like baby hairs so I leave it out to do it's thing , lol
I always put mines in with my braids I have 3b/3c hair type mines r a lot thinner but also longer so when my hair is done u can never see or notice that I have it I actually didn’t know that it was called kitchen😂😂 so I learned something new from watching this video keep up the good work ur hair is beautiful❤️
Ive bought the leave n conditioner and the black Castrol oil i haven't really gotten to use it yet because i had a sew in and it was kinda difficult reaching my braids. But im sticking with crochet hairstyles from now on. So i can use the products without such a struggle. Excited to start using them.
Do not shave your kitchen. If my kitchen is too short I do like you do, but I add one extra step. I moisturize and gently run the comb (like you do) then I use soft bristle brush (baby brush even better). That should keep you kitchen neat and help it to retain length
I’ve been taking notes on all your videos and I cannot wait to see the change in my hair! Quick question, during the 4-6 weeks of your protective style you only use the Bhringraj or serum on your hair?
Love, love, love your products and you’re literally my hair guru. My only complaint is that shipping fee. Would it be possible to provide free shipping? I usually buy all 5 items coming up to $70. It would be really nice to save that extra $8 to go towards more product lol
Im from Canada. If I get the 17.50 hair oil, its actually 23.48 CAD….so imagine when I get only 3 products + tax + $22 shipping ($29 cad) my total for 3 items came up to about $96 the other day. theres always someone worse off….lol😅
Is their anyone in UK that have bought any of Eugenias products ? if so did you have to pay extra tax when the item arrived and did it come through DHL ?

@@cathyfreeman8608 Oh wow that makes sense! Thanks for enlightening me and sharing that tip. I definitely have to think about that more.
Sometimes the more you oil your hair the more you clog your pores and that can cause hair lost for some people. I only oil mines 2 times a week now.
Thank you for this video. My hair is super dry. I will be ordering your products. I can’t wait to see the outcome!
Girl u make it look so easy 😭😭
because it is
Are you a model? Ma'am you're beautiful 😭
Yes she is 🙂
Thank you for this video perfect timing may God bless you and your hair is lovely I hope you become successful in your career one day.
Where are you from?
you’re gorgeous omg
Agree 💯
Okay my girly, I just purchased the mask, leave in, and hair growth serum ❤️❤️❤️
Love your videos Eugenia! You’ve inspired me to make my own products and I can never go back! Thank you!
Good job Eugenia!
Thank you for the Hair Tips for Hair Growth, you make braiding look so easy looks good.
For my "kitchen" which in my culture we call it "grang grang". If i am doing box braids, I include it in but if i don't want to i get gel and put it up. For cornways i do the same thing :) i also straighten it sometimes if i was to straighten
Heat protection n a light blow out with have your hair stretched and easier to braid so less breakage cause u won't get tangles
Please where will I get all the products please
Hair goals 😍 I love it
Your hair is so beautiful! Thank you for all the informations you give to us!
How long did it take you to grow your hair that long?
A couple of years, check her channel to get your answer 🙂

I want to thank you for that information. It sounds so healthy. I'm going to try the honey and water and vanilla cuz I have that in my cupboards. Thank you so much.😘
Love your videos 😍, please do videos on what you do to your hair while in braids/twists, how you take care of your hair in protective style....... thank you

Your hair looks amazing I am here learning
Could you please give tips on how to maintain your protective styles especially twists for weeks especially if you have short hair, my protective styles never last longer than 2 weeks. Thanks
I'm pretty sure it was due to length, does it last longer now you have gained some length ?
@@lilnativa_That_4C_hair_Chick yes it does but not much longer
any discount on the products i want buy both but can only afford one
This is perfect. I can take care of my hair and try some new protective styles like wigs
Hi! How many years did i take you to reach that lenght ? Thank you
Years, check her channel and binge watch her videos to get your answer 🙂
Also take care of your self eat lots of good and nutritious food so body can grow to it's full potential that including your hair and drink plenty of water, exercise can be good as well for it can decrease and relieve stress which can cause hair loss, stay safe and take care!
AMEN TO THIS 🙏🏾
Good morning Kelcy...love all your products...can you get an auntie, mom or sister of age 55+ where our hormones have slowed down have them use the products for 6 to 8 weeks show us before and after so I can see how it works for the aging population...thanks
Absolutely gorgeous hair!
when it falls out the braid i will twist it down or i may just " twirl it around " ( idont know what to call it ) but not loc it , and im also trying to grow it ( the kitchen ) ! and will massage with wild growth oil ! when it gets longer it'll blend easier i have 4c hair too ! love yourss xo
I care for my kitchen like I do the rest of my hair it always separates itself
♥️ you did excellent🌹I know how to braid which is a plus finding the first two products might be a problem I will try this thanks for sharing
In my country we call "kitchen" "black pepper" ❤
Lovely😍.since my hair reached my waist , I decided not to cornroll any more, it's too much work. I just braid it the whole head and wear it out like that, my kitchen is like baby hairs so I leave it out to do it's thing , lol
Eugina your hair is long but what about your face n skin it's just beautiful!! You look like a live Barbie doll
Hey Eugenia i havent seen you in a while. your hair isjust growing
How long did it take you to get your hair so long and healthy 😊
It took her a couple of years. She has videos explaining her journey, you might want to have a look 🙂
It would be really nice to save that extra $8 to go towards more product lol
i agree i was so upset about that. but most of her products at least once a month and it comes up to like 60$ then the shipping fee is so much
Im from Canada. If I get the 17.50 hair oil, its actually 23.48 CAD….so imagine when I get only 3 products + tax + $22 shipping ($29 cad) my total for 3 items came up to about $96 the other day.
theres always someone worse off….lol😅
Beautiful hair!!
I love the deep conditioner
I love your channel! You will help me so much!!! Thank you for providing your tips! 🥰
Everything about you is lovely.💕
Is their anyone in UK that have bought any of Eugenias products ? if so did you have to pay extra tax when the item arrived and did it come through DHL ?
As you reside in the UK and her in the usa, that's pretty normal: the extra tax and delivery by DHL 🙂
