Wow, what an amazing transformation. I am not a fan of Kup, but I am very impressed with the engineering. They did present a screen accurate transformer in both modes.
Nah both of them got it on the same day. PvP is just working his ways through the numbers. Also, I’m pretty sure he could have got it way earlier, but his official partnership with Hasbro and Zavvi was starting, so he didn’t want to mess with that
These 86 movie figures are knocking it out of the park. All those Siege line weaponizers make sense now. Hasbro was getting ready to make this feature for Kup, lol. Anyway, this looks like a good, solid figure but I don't understand why Hasbro made him look much more elderly and weaker than in the movie. I guess because time flies... But they didn't do it to the other figures.
They didn't paint or mold it in pink because adding more colors (paint and plastic) raises the price. So with the detailing on the figure they probably hit there "color/plastic variety budget".
Then they'd be all boring and weird looking like the new MP figures, and they wouldn't fit in with the WFC figures (which they're obviously intended to).
@@SirGrimLockSmithVIII There's multiple reasons here. First reason, and I suspect the main reason, is that Beast Wars and The Transformers 1986 movie both have anniversaries due for next year. 30th anniversary for Beast Wars, and 35th anniversary for The Transformers Movie. That's one main reason why Studio Series '86 exists, and why it's seperate from Kingdom. Also concerning the '86 line, it's a good filler line for Studio Series, since there's not many live-action movie designs currently in the pipeline (especially because we're in that strange time between Transformers movies.) Kingdom, although a continuation of the War For Cybertron line, is also doing double duty as the Beast Wars anniversary line. We still get new molds of the old Beast Wars characters, but the addition of gimmicks like the Fossilizers allow it to run parallel with the "main" Transformers line aimed towards the widest target audience. Hasbro is doing the best they can here- splitting what would be a very bloated Generations line into two lines, one being a subline. This allows them to have more releases for each line, and to honor the anniversaries of both series, which fall at the same time. This also explains why the '86 figures are stylistically similar to the War For Cybertron figures- helps keep a level of consistency, and keeps the main line from being too bloated. If these lines weren't split, then we wouldn't get as many figures overall. Edit: Also, having seperate lines allows for Hasbro to make a proportional amount of profits off of these figures. Plus, '86 could potentially bring people only interested in Studio Series over to the WFC toyline, too. It's a good business decision, basically. Give your customers a wide variety of offerings, instead of simply trying to fill a small menu with what you think your customers would enjoy. Helps that they didn't shirk on the quality for either line, too. So the main takeaway is that there are designed to be similar to the WFC, so we essentially get an expanded new Generations line. I hope I wasn't too confusing with that explanation.
Finally a figure of kup that does him justice, i already have the siege figure of springer so now i really need to get the others to make a movie diorama, so i need to get this figure of kup, the 86 movie hotrod, earthrise arcee and siege ultra magnus, i also need to find a figure of blur that works well
@@masontheawesome9898 ok good point cause basically i made the same mistake with optimus before his earthrise version was released and now im just thinking of painting the seige version to be nemisis prime
Hotrod, springer, arcee, blurr, and kup aren’t cyberton vehicles because the movie took place in “the far future year 2005” so there suppose to be futuristic earth vehicles
Consider me converted on this one. I had initially felt no need to get this with the likes of Titans Return Kup or even LG46 Targetmaster Kup existing. Now, it's a must-have. And vehicle mode looks way better than the TR/LG design. Hopefully there's a Targetmaster version retool in the future which includes Recoil and a spot on the back of the vehicle mode for Recoil to peg in.
I know wreck gar is rumored but I Hasbro and takara utilize the weaponizer/modulator gimmick and make them interchangeable with everything still fitting and vehicle mode so you have really funky looking motorcycles and robot modes for the junkions.
In terms of overall representation, I kinda prefer the Generarions Kupp from around '09-'10. He looks like a futuristic vintage truck, his 'laser musket' looks like an actual rifle/musket, and they even gave him a cantankerous snarl, the look of someone who's seen it all and isn't impressed. However, I have to hand it to TOMY and Hasbro on these anniversary movie figures - they look like action figures based closely on the movie, _but they can actually still transform._

Shouldn't their designs be plane and simple and not fully detailed?
Well, they're doing this level of detail for all of these Generations-style figures. So that train left the station a long time ago.
