It’s like when SS 86 sees a Siege figure with parts-forming they just try to make it better without parts-forming. Eventually we’re gonna lose all figures that have a gun as a blaster due to the blaster actually folding out of the arm 😂

Don't worry, the upcoming Legacy Earth mode Soundwave still has his Siege wrist guns/spaceship landing skids for some reason. I love fold-out bits that vaguely resemble weapons or shields but, if you're going to retool the rest of Siege Soundwave, you could at least change the arms to match the new style...

The way they always give these super tiny Bumblebees the most engineering, there is literally NO excuse for their larger voyagers, leaders etc to not get the same treatment.
Why do you think they're small??? they have to balance size and engineering. of course there's an excuse... its called PARTS BUDGET.
They cast it in plastic other than yellow plastic so that when they do the inevitable blue window repaint you wanted all along, you'll buy that version too.

Bumblebee was based on the Volkswagen Penny racer not the actual car so his car mode mode is pretty accurate.

I realize I’m in the minority but I actually prefer the Netflix mold and would rather have had that repainted with a better yellow. Granted I have neither of them and since this will become so much easier to get this is what I’ll have but maybe the Netflix prices will drop and I can just get both

Give the studio series staff a raise. They live up to the title of "Masterpiece on a tight budget". Also every commander class release seems to be amazing. Still got to find that TF Animated BB.. Distribution for TF Animated seems to suck over here.. I have a feeling they could re-release all the SS86 in premium finish versions with higher quality paint apps. I think collectors would buy those versions as definitive editions of the existing molds. Eg. for the dinbots give them some chrome paint to match the original 1980s toys.
Or... they could experiment and do a Siege-style dirty battle damage line of SS86.

Looks a lot better than that Netflix mold. Pity they didn't get the VW license, the rounded car roof would go perfect with this one's "super deformed" car mode. I expect them to remold and repaint the hell out of this. Cliffjumper, Hubcap, maybe Bumper, hopefully Botcon-inspired Bug Bite...

The leg transformation is very reminiscent of the masterpiece one, and I love it. I just got this fig and he may be one of the best we've gotten

If the rear roof header was a bit more curved it would have made the car mode perfect for me
I am so glad we finally have a more animation accurate bumblebee. For me personally I just never liked any of the other designs we got of him in recent years because they just didn’t look like his animation model to me.
This figure balances it perfectly imo between people who love animation accuracy and others who prefer toy accuracy.
The Robot mode looks almost exactly spot on my only nitpicks would be that the wheels on his feet should tuck underneath and they could have put a spare tire accessory or detail ok his back.
The alt mode is pretty much spot on to the animation. If you didn’t know already, Hasbro could never officially make bumblebee a VW beetle in the show so they made his alt mode a more squat and small shaped car that resembled a VW beetle. My only nitpick would be that in the alt mode the Autobot logo on his chest disappears but that’s it really.
I will definitely be picking this up when I can. I’ll try and pick up the Earthrise/SS86 Cliffjumper when I can because it looks brilliant as it is xx

Wait... ball joint shoulders... at this price point? Any idea why they did not go with the nested double-hinge anterior/posterior and lateral joint connections they used for the hips or on most shoulders of deluxe and larger figures?

Regardless, I still dig the "PS1" look of that "Beetle".
As for the bot, it's way, WAY better looking than the MP2.0.

Whats the stand that you use when posing these figures?
For a moment I thought they had just grabed Masterpiece G1 Bee version 1 and miniaturized, but then you transformed the sides and feet, and damn, I think they actually improved over it!
This is easily gonna be replaced my legacy United bumblebee. Very cool video btw.

I dont see the hate for the figure. the alt mode is unlicensed, yes, but its consistent with itself and doesnt look bad, proportions and sizewise its the best g1 bee we've gotten, no shit partsforming (yk, not the entire third of the altmode separating like with earthrise arcee) ... the head looks great! it doesnt look like the deformed gremlin of the Masterpiece 2.0 or the Core Class.
Change the front of the feet and the head and we have ourselves a Bumper. I wonder if that will be the first variant of this Bumblebee we'll see instead of Cliffjumper.
He looks better than the original photos made him out to be! Really excited for this guy
I like this version of Bee quite a bit, the vehicle mode makes me think of the original G1 toy for sure, I think that was the intent. I like it alot though, he looks pretty cool.

For a mainline/86 Bumblebee this is about near perfect. Would have really liked to see the cell shaded windows, but overall the proportions are very good. Very interesting how the engineering behind it is nearly the same as what Lego did with their larger scale transforming model. Definitely will watch out for the preorder as small as he is, and can't wait to see the inevitable Cliffjumper with hopefully some new exterior retooling, and a much larger weapon.
I love this so much, he looks so good! Now we just need Optimus, a new Cliffjumper, and a clean Prowl to complete the main gang!
*I dig this new Bumblebee!* Even if the altmode was somewhat compromised, in order to make it EASY for them to release this guy as Cliffjumper, Hubcap, Goldbug, etc, with Minimal remolding. *Thumbs Up to this new Bumblebee!*

Pretty much what I'm thinking is the netflix bee is the better to me, the SS86 just doesn't appeal to me in the slightest and feels almost like a step backwards from what the last 5 years has been doing. Kind of how I felt with figures like Ironhide and Ratchet...I liked the other ones, sure they weren't perfect and I needed to do some modding to them, but they still kept within the line really well.
You know, for the way they designed this bee, I think he would work well as a Pretender class. Weird right? But the articulation and style I think would be best fitted that way.
I think they got inspiration for this bumblebee from the 3rd party kubianbao hornet agent bumblebee, there is some small similarities on their transformation not to mention has similar gun as well
i imagine recolors out of him a lot plus what would 86 sunstreaker, hoist, grapple, smokescreen and prowl look like??

Skipped the last few Bee's and stuck with the Legends class Bee up until now. This SS86 Bee could use a slightly smaller head but still the best one to date IMO.
Since I missed out on the Netflix Bumblebee for a good price ill definitely be grabbing this. I think the excellent robot mode more than makes up for the vehicle mode not being completely animation accurate. Though I like the head sculpt better on the Netflix or cybertronian mode Bee.
Even though his head isn’t dead-on to the animation, I think it still looks great. Fits the mold well.
