I think a much bigger factor in the price increase is the higher parts count. It's clear that the budget for this figure is higher; the transformation is more elaborate, completely hiding the robot face and covering the underside more thoroughly; the shoulders let you sit the pauldrons sideways; the back is completely remolded and has articulated parts; the biceps and thighs are now 2-part molds; etc. It's obvious Siege Springer was "as good as we can do with the budget." I do think they should have gone the extra mile and remolded the lower legs too.
I was not liking It but The fact the torso seems to work differently Is making me reconsider. I Have the old one in the comic color and I like It quite a lot except for the fact that It falls appart pretty easily as the entire upper body Is tangled on itself. Here the chest going down and the arms not falling appart does imply It Is More solid
@@leonake4194 I can confirm that the torso and legs on 86 Springer hold together MUCH more solidly than on Siege Springer. Nothing is going to accidentally come undone. That said, it's still a bit of a crap-shoot if the ankles on your copy will hold; my Siege Springer has never had an issue with his ankles while the ones on my 86 Springer are a little loose.
The same thing in my case. I’m so glad I didn’t over paid for the siege figure even though I was tempted. And I didn’t like the wreck and rule either. Although I would’ve bought it if it had the right autobot symbol. That blue symbol turned me off.
I have the original and now I have this one, I can see they made a lot of improvements. The original actually broke because the chest piece was so hard to change from vehicle to robot
I can understand people saying "if you have Siege Springer, this isn't worth it", but my WFC Springer will be sold and replaced by this guy 🤩. I'm a sucker for that unfolding sword rotor
Yes, I'm really happy with his additional armaments. Especially that blade. It's way better than the current one which I really have difficulty keeping on the figure due to the way it just pops off.
I'm a sucker for Springer as he's one of my favorite character so I've pre-ordered this guy but, I'm keeping my Siege Springer as well. I also have Fans Toys, MMC and XTB Springer as my Masterpieces with XTB being my favorite.
Tbh I am so glad this figure is coming out, cause my wreckers springers clear plastic backpack, the tabs on it snapped off and now it’s not as stable, so I hope history doesn’t repeat itself when I get this new one
I just had a theory. Since Hasbro had made Legacy Transmetal 2 Megatron, with the other Predacons, and they just made TigerHawk, and then SilverBolt. Does that mean that they may make Transmetal Megatron in his T Rex form, Transmetal Cheetor, Transmetal 2 Cheetor, Transmetal 2 Dinobot, Transmetal Black Arachnia, QuickStrike, Transmetal Tranantulas, Optimal Optimus if I’m saying it correctly if not someone say it please, then Transmetal Rattrap, and then finally Depth Charge?
Probably on the long list of pieces they want to make, but they need new molds for most of them and they like to milk the old molds for 3 or 4 figures. I am hoping they get a new Octane and Broadside figure made. I was also thinking this Springer would have been awesome with a launcher from the movie and smaller missiles. I have it and love it.
Its got the engineering and accessories to equal 55$ . the backpack has the 2 extra parts that move, the shoulders have 2 extra parts that move, and the fingers.. plus accessories. its worth 55$ in 2024. Do I wish they'd have skipped accessories and just given him to us for like 40-43$ just for him and his new engineering and give the accessories as part of another weapons /accessories pack then yes absolutely but Hasbro and other companies wont play around with prices like that unfortunately.
For one, I appreciate that in your review, you've actually posed Springer's pauldrons to its proper position unlike some reviewers who stated that they would correct their look (cough - ToysrRuss - cough) in their review but didn't. I mean that is one of its new features!!! 😔 Also, thank you for being honest and in detailing the differences and the overall value of this new Springer.
This does concern me a little with future studio series 86 optimus prime and Soundwave. How different will they be to their counterparts to warrant a higher price?
I got the Legacy one (from the Wreck 'n Rule Collection) and don't see enough to justify the increase to leader class pricing - legs really need a rework.
I want to get this Springer, but something inside me tells that I'm fine with my Thrilling 30 Springer, which is, for all intents and purposes, one of the best Transformers figures ever made. And speaking of Thrilling 30, when are you going to review your Thrilling 30 Sky-Byte in preparation for the upcoming Sky-Byte in the new toyline next year?
Everyone is upset about the price increase, but to me, the real difference will be build quality This design might have been sold at a steal of a price before but in-hand it was a mess. The mold was too ambitious for the price point’s build quality- mine had wacky tolerances that prevented it from holding together, with stress marks showing up as well. Basically it was a time bomb The new parts and paint look good but if it actually were just executed better with tighter fit, that would be the biggest improvement and well worth the price point. Anyone that has the original (or Wreckers version) can attest to how scary the chest connections are Don’t think of it as a Voyager being priced up to a Leadwr Think of it as a Leader that sold as a Voyager by cutting cost on fitment and crappy plastic Oh, and ditching the stupid battle damage is big too
This still has the same engineering & all the same issues when it comes to the leg design (with the exception of the knees detaching) - this figure definitely is an improvement visually but at its core it’s still the same as the voyager priced released
Not being able to get a Siege Springer, I'm left with little choice if I want this "bad boy" in my collection. I'm sure DNA or noneff can develop some mods for the legs and such.
Its cool that the rotors fold into a sword, but i wish they added maybe a pin joint or something lengthwise in one side of the sword so that it could rotate and make the rotors face the correct way
I’m glad they seemed to fix the QC issue with that flap on the arms or whatever it was that kept coming off when transforming him into helicopter mode. I have never owned a triple changer before and I’m going to get him but I have a question. Do you HAVE to go through all three modes to get to the 3rd? Like can u go from robot to helicopter without going through vehicle mode? And that question goes in the reverse with all modes.
Awesome video!!! This SS 86 Springer is a definite buy for me!!! I have WFC Springer, but this Springer is light-years better...I can live with the legs being re-used, but otherwise he looks like he jumped right out of season 3!!!
I can't get a single tab to do anything it's supposed to. This doesn't snap together at all, just sort of stays there for a second and then pop out the moment you look at it.
One thing I will say is I do somewhat appreciate all the accessories because if they tried retooling the old springer and selling him at the new price with no changes or add ons I’d riot
Honestly, I'm looking forward to getting this guy. When Hasbro first announced him, I wasn't surprised that they re-used the Siege Mold Springer and slapped on accessories for a Leader Class price point but look at some of the previous figures that had the same issue I mean Blitzwing, and Sandstorm could have been sold as voyager but hey that is Hasbro and that is what they do now
@@PrimeVsPrime I agree, I mean with the amount of plastic they throw in for extras and charge it for a higher leader class price is a bit much, but and this just me I'm a stickler for scale size and I hated the leader class sized figures before Hasbro changed things up for WFC Trilogy and I like the scale they have now. It is what it is
"I've got better things to do tonight than die." - Springer, 2005 I really like SS86 Springer! He looks awesome & comes with cool accessories (& cool opening hands)! I think he is pretty worth the Leader Class pricetag, but I mean, he _could_ be better in that regard. I really want to get him cuz, again, he looks awesome & I don't have Springer in my collection! And, hes a great character!
For the amount they bumped up the price I would've definitely liked to have seen some details painted on the accessories, especially the shell, but this does look like a sick figure! Just gotta convince myself to part with leader money for a voyager with some kibble and bits thrown in
In my opinion these false leader classes should be recategorized as something new like Voyager Plus or something if they're really that desperate to get the extra money without increasing the figure's size. It would at least be far less controversial that way
That sounds cool and fitting. It Also would help better shape the hype of the fans. That way we would know what type of figure to expect instead of wondering wether itll be a large figure or an involved voyager
I think the torso got some much needed retooling. The slight upgrades across the board here appear great, and really seem to address a lot of the things that I found a bit frustrating about the first one. However... I think the legs deserved the same attention, and didn't get it. There are plenty of ways to have improved the legs, and they simply didn't do it. The additional/new accessories are fine, but I didn't have any issues with the original accessories, either... and that weak hammer... if it wasn't going to SS Commander class Ultra Magnus, I'm not sure what I'd do with it... and it is very obvious it's just a filler to justify the price-point. So, I AM going to get this version of Springer... I would love to say that I'm going to wait for it to hit clearance shelves or discount retailer locations like Ross or Ollie's, but sadly, that's not a reliable way to acquire the figure. If I KNEW, for a fact, that I'd be able to pick this up at a one of those stores, and all I'd have to do is just wait long enough, I would... but distribution to such places is hit or miss, so I've got this guy on pre-order. I'm sure I'll regret it a year from now or more, but... that's how this hobby works. Thank you for the great review!
I don't really care about the big missile thing since it's so scene specific, but I like all the other accessories. Some paint on the hammer would've been good, though. He could definitely have done with new lower legs but tbf they made new sculpts for more parts of him than I was expecting. The articulated fingers are a nice touch, too. I think he looks worth it, since I like the character.
Being clean of Siege sludge is worth the price point upograde alone - it took me an entire day to get rid of it on Ultra Magnus, and Springer's painted shoulders don't allow stripping it at all without having to then match and replace the base color.
The green wheels seem to be there to blend in robot mode, they should be grey. The torso transformation also seems improved, I remember the siege head storage and arm connection in altmode being frustrating, overall I like the upgrades but he is overpriced. Shame the ultra class got extinct, it was a nice spot between voyagers and leaders.
First off, I can’t see many differences between this and the Siege version outside of different articulation, is there anything else? Second this looks alright to me, not too crazy about this. Hope that many people enjoy having a more movie accurate version of Springer now.
Definitely gonna get it. I don’t have a Spinger. Definitely more accurate and I like the color scheme a lot more than the previous versions. I hope there’s an upgrade kit that addresses balancing issue in the future. That’s really unfortunate.
I already own and love Siege Springer, but I do like the improved posability (which was already quite excellent on the Siege one) and all the goodies he comes with. Not an absolute priority for me as far as collecting TFs goes, but I could totally see myself getting this guy somewhere down the line, especially on discount.
Atfer all the effort I made stripping the battle damage paint and repainting my Siege Springer figure (the yellow paint in particular was a headache) I just can't justifying spending the asking price on this new figure. Siege is close enough.
I'm guess in addition to the accessories it's the added engineering (the opening hands, the chassis, his shoulder pylons folding to the sides now). I LOVE the new headsculpt - but if there was more to 'hide' the wheels in helicopter mode, and maybe make the canopy wider in car mode I'd definitely be in for him. Not a priority for me - now at least. @15:47 I hope that parts a bit easier as it scares me bit on Seige. Hope that the lower leg issues have been too.
Man, the number of folks who are rapidly selling off their TF Siege iteration right now is quite literally mind-numbing! 😅 A blatantly honest perspective on a partly revisited toy with an exaggerated accessory party bag, PvP! 😊🎉
This looks better than the fans toys apache(springer) than i own and is the best springer ever, i was lucky to preorder him, steeljaw and bumblebee from zavvi as this guys is sold out literally everywher, i only need ss86 perceptor, ramhorn and rewind to complete my g1 autobots team, perceptor is the only one i missed out but luckily he is in the upcoming 3 pack so i am def getting that 3 pack, no news on rewind though, thank you pvp for giving us an early glimpse of this guy
Hello! Awesome review! I was wondering if the legs still have the problem of disconnecting with the transformation joint in the knees when trying to articulate it, Does it still have that problem?
Another dramatic capture series product has been leaked, and this time, it's the bridge of the ark! With Kingdom Teletraan 1, 86 Jazz and the absolute goat EARTHRISE OPTIMUS PRIME!
The QC issues on my legacy springer have me wanting to sell it, and this one looks like a fix for those issues. Are the QC issues fixed, like the weird leg movement thing, the skirt unhinging, and the entire chest part literally falling apart? If the issues are all fixed I would agree with the leader class name.
If it ends up going the way of Coronation Starscream and warms the shelf until clearence, Picking it up would be a good deal. Replace? Some of us never got the walmart exclusive Netflix subline Earthrise Bumblebee! I will wait for the SS version to be repainted into Glyph or Tap-Out or someone obscure anyway. I have Enough Bees.
PVP : he comes with the sword he used to face off against the Junkions my brain : remembers that Weird Al Yankovic is voicing Cosmos in season 2 of TF Earthspark me : guess Cosmos is gonna dare to be stupid eh?
If I ever get my hands on this guy, I'm replacing the sword with the thrilling 30s springer's sword. That weapon's conversion hasn't been topped since, and it's symmetrical.
I never got the older mold of this figure so honestly I'm glad I get to pick him up in the studio series line. Thank you primevsprime for yet another banging review 🫡
Great vid as always. In hasbro's livestream where they announced this figure, they talked about the fold-out arm canon. So I search for a springer review, and I find yours! Yay! I want to see the arm canon! Then I see the "arm canon" is a tiny dinky little piece of light green plastic. An extra $25 usd gets me -- let's see -- a catapult missile with unpainted fins, a purplish blaster even though his blaster isn't purple, a sword/helicopter rotor that cannot take the cool swooosh effect that came with siege battle masters lionizer, a sword, and a tiny dinky light green blaster thingy. I'm not sure I want to spend the $35 usd this might get marked down to at Target.
Ngl I’d prefer this bc I don’t like wfc’s battle damage. But idk about adding that hammer in, since he never used it in the movie. Adding more accessories to pad a toy instead of accuracy sounds like it’s setting up a bad precedent
Otherwise, I love the new head sculpt. I like the cleaner color scheme. The new rotor is a lot better. The knee fixes are very much appreciated. Just definitely feels like a figure that needs to be on sale to justify the price.
you should start doing a stop motion series, with some of your posing skills I think you'd be very talented at it. You also have lots of opportunity with how many figures you have.
I do have the previous springer and love him but my main collection is the SS86 line so I’ll be getting him for that reason lol He does look good and love your review

Top shelf review as usual mate.
Thank you so much mate! Big thanks for your kind words! 🙏🏻🔥
Never got the siege so I’m definitely picking this guy up to compliment the sandstorm! Great review!
Thank you very much! Glad you like it!
Another figure I’m definitely buying, thanks for the review!
Thank you very much! 🤩🔥
Springer has always been one of my top favorites.
The next is Tracks.
Completely agree! The return of Ultra Class would be perfect for some of these triple changers
The best thing about this over Siege is he doesn't have all that stupid Mud all over him
First off, I can’t see many differences between this and the Siege version outside of different articulation, is there anything else? Second this looks alright to me, not too crazy about this. Hope that many people enjoy having a more movie accurate version of Springer now.
In the comparisons I break everything down! 🤩🔥
Definitely gonna get it. I don’t have a Spinger. Definitely more accurate and I like the color scheme a lot more than the previous versions. I hope there’s an upgrade kit that addresses balancing issue in the future. That’s really unfortunate.
Yeah the weak ankles are a killer especially for that price point!
0:09 love this shot🔥🔥🔥
Thanks so much!
I already own and love Siege Springer, but I do like the improved posability (which was already quite excellent on the Siege one) and all the goodies he comes with. Not an absolute priority for me as far as collecting TFs goes, but I could totally see myself getting this guy somewhere down the line, especially on discount.
If you can find it on discount then I would definitely recommend it!
The transformation seems to be better so even if I love my Legacy Springer I might buy that one
Atfer all the effort I made stripping the battle damage paint and repainting my Siege Springer figure (the yellow paint in particular was a headache) I just can't justifying spending the asking price on this new figure. Siege is close enough.
Siege is so good for the price point. It transforms the same too!
have loved all the 86 figures we’ve seen so far this year, i’m hoping they knock it put of the park with commander optimus🙏🏻
I hope so too! Although I am wondering if it will be an ER Optimus Prime retool at this point 🤔
@@PrimeVsPrime really hoping it’s brand new and as good as the 86 magnus!
A blatantly honest perspective on a partly revisited toy with an exaggerated accessory party bag, PvP! 😊🎉
Couldn’t agree more! There’s no way this should be priced as a “leader class”
The fact they couldn’t be bothered to hide his hands, you can keep this toy.
Hello! Thanks mate! No this time around they snap in super securely! Shouldn’t have any issues
Another dramatic capture series product has been leaked, and this time, it's the bridge of the ark! With Kingdom Teletraan 1, 86 Jazz and the absolute goat EARTHRISE OPTIMUS PRIME!
Yes mate it did look fire! Will have a news round going up shortly! 🤩🔥
If I didn’t already have the he seige and W&R version i probably would’ve bought this version
This is the best looking version, but I just don’t think is worthy of that price point unfortunately
"Believe it or not, this is the fun part.”
I don't mind the price, I skipped the Siege and the Wreckers version. Would suck if you're tripled dipping.
Agreed!
My old Springer ankles are actually very tight
Oh nice one! Mine aren’t unfortunately 😔
@@PrimeVsPrime Mine aren't either, but I can get him to stand.
Holy shit it’s springers iconic hammer
Haha ikr?! The most important outta the bunch! 😆🤩
I would’ve thought that it would’ve ended up like Starscream but online it seems sold out almost everywhere
PVP : he comes with the sword he used to face off against the Junkions
my brain : remembers that Weird Al Yankovic is voicing Cosmos in season 2 of TF Earthspark
me : guess Cosmos is gonna dare to be stupid eh?
I hate that that works so well 😂
Excited for ES S2, btw
Yeah this is an easy pickup all around, dope figure and I appreciate all the differences
Glad you like it mate! 🔥🔥🔥
19:27 I personally think the blades of the helicopter is the problem because they look a bit wrong. I think the siege version blades were better.
Maybe they should’ve been asymmetrical
@@PrimeVsPrime I mean that they look like a bow than an actual helicopter blades.
Agreed! They could’ve scrapped half of these accessories & potentially put it into the budget of making a more accurate figure
I thought it'd be fun to have a shot every time PVP says "sucker"...
I'm now in hospital.
Otherwise, I love the new head sculpt. I like the cleaner color scheme. The new rotor is a lot better. The knee fixes are very much appreciated. Just definitely feels like a figure that needs to be on sale to justify the price.
I have been waiting for Springer and here he is!
He is really cool! Just overpriced
Can't wait till I get mine when it gets released. I myself like getting 3 for the triple changers so I can have 1 in each mode.
I love the little canon on his arm!
It’s a cool little feature for sure!🤩
Hello prime your videos are very fun to watch because the fire thingies
Thank you mate! 👊🏻🔥
@@PrimeVsPrime np 👊🏻
This is a question for you, PrimeVsPrime. I have neither. Should i get seige or wait till the 86 figure releases?
It really depends, if you can find siege for a good price then I’d jump on it. If not, then the SS version is good!
you should start doing a stop motion series, with some of your posing skills I think you'd be very talented at it. You also have lots of opportunity with how many figures you have.
I do have the previous springer and love him but my main collection is the SS86 line so I’ll be getting him for that reason lol
He does look good and love your review
Now that's a same original Siege Springer, he looks awesome.
def getting this guy. the in built blaster plus the fact I don't have any other springer is a big selling point for me.
It is a really good looking figure. But it’s pricey considering the Voyager Siege version transforms exactly the same
Except for the (exposed wheels,) I think it's a fairly decent figure all things considered!!!! 🤗❤️👍🏾
