Mono cropping and not rotating crops (and growing lost of different ones) are what's the base reason for the depletion of soils. Native Americans often grew what they call the 3 sisters together (corn, squash and beans) which prevented the soil from being depleted. Not saying herbicides and pesticides aren't problem, but I think mono cropping is a huge issue.
In the Ringing Cedars if Russia" series of books, Anastasia talks about the intelligence of plants and not to pull every weed as some weeds give the plant information. Also how we should put the seed in our mouth before planting so the plant will pull from the soil the minerals the person was lacking in their saliva.
Yes, feedback! Listen to your body. Among the 8 children, in the first months of life, I’m the only one who absolutely refused milk. My mother had to make rice milk for me. A few years later, when my sister and brothers enjoyed their warm drink made from condensed milk in the morning , i ran away and hided. As an adult i finally learned that I have lactose intolerance. Now, I do like to eat the condensed milk with French bread. If hot water is added to make it a drink, it’s a ‘no, thank you’ for me. Approaching my 70’s and still in good health with no chronic issue, I continue to respect this physical body and listen well to it.
Fantastic interview! The thought of what I am not only what I eat but I really am what that what I’m eating ate..or something like that. So many points that were clarified for me. I’m a firm believer that the more flavorful and “real” my food...the less I eat. Wouldn’t this same concept apply to scaling animal production. Higher nutrition + more flavor= eating less/needing less.
“One size all same blandness”...can’t stop commenting. Yes, FOOD IS MEDICINE. I have RA and been working on remission with food and the journey is so nourishing. Not only physically but emotional. We’re all interconnected, YES! thank you so so much....best interview ever!
Grass fed meats are now in many mainstream supermarkets. Definitely in Whole foods. Bison is always grass fed. Butcher box is a great subscription pasture-raised meat box that you can get every month or every 6 weeks and you can pick your meats. Most farmers markets have booths with meats from pasture-raised animals. I even have a grass-fed heritage cow farm on cape cod. good luck
Local farms are your best bet. Eat Wild has a good directory. With a local farm you can call and talk to the farmers directly, maybe even visit the farm, if you're interested, to see exactly how the animals are being raised.
In Biblical text Genesis God prefered the smell of burnt meat offerings... rather than vegetables. In fact Cain killed Abel due to envy because God prefered Abels meat offering of lamb as he was a shepherd rather than Caine's vegetables and fruits Moral of the story meat is good.
@@publiusovidius7386 well let's put it this way until the 1870s they didn't know the Hittite Kingdom existed but it was mentioned in the Bible. So its correct archaeologically Your turn!
Yep, I think you're right. Americans 100 years ago ate way more meat than modern Americans and were far, far healthier than Americans today. The "standard American diet" is not a meat-based diet, contrary to popular belief: it is a plant-based diet, primarily a grain-based (and increasingly soy-based) diet.
The soil is lacking nutrients which most everyone are aware of. You use fertilizer with nutrients for this very reason. Dr. Hyman, are you familiar with fertilizer?
That is not regenerative! No to extracted chemical fertilizer made and applied with fossil fuels! Chemical fertilizer kills the soil and then it would need constant artificial inputs. No we need to go back to living soils with biodiverse plant communities and animals that recycle the nutrients of that place...creating a healthy ecology is sustainable, lower cost, using no fossil fuels, and actually helps to sequester carbon from the air.
Soil replenishment starts and ends with restoring the soil microbiome. Dead soil is depleted soil. The fastest, easiest, cheapest, and most reliable way to restore the soil microbiome is with grazing animals in a management-intensive system with no pharmaceuticals, no pesticides, and no herbicides period. Even organic plant agriculture doesn't come close.
Oh yes MEAT IS MEDICINE, yes it is ! Watch Dr Ali and his videos and research! Sounds like your a typical veg head, LOL. I was a former long-term vegetarian and it almost ruined my health! I fixed it by adding meat and animal products back in.

Monsanto has alot to answer for. Depleting the nutrients from our soil and foods

Hmmm this talk had opened my mind up to maybe exploring meat again (after researching some of the points they made).

It all makes common sense the minute that man touches it the whole game changes like the domino effect.

So where can we buy quality meats in the U.S.?

you may want to research our oceans being a CO2 battery and control the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere.

lol. Genesis is full of unscientific mythological garbage. Not a great source for scientific evidence.

Phyto nutrients is woo woo science. Yes for the plants they are important. Plants dont make them to feed you 🤣🤣🤣
There is no proof they do anything positive for us.
Nothing of what mark says about phyto nutrients have ever been proving.
