This looks like a great stash buster. I often struggle to find hats that fit my small head, so making my own is the way to go. I'm definitely looking forward to trying it out! Thanks, Gwen!
Aww thank you Theresa!! 💗 I have no idea there are so many small head folks around until I released this hat pattern! I have a small head and my husband has a big head so I'm glad I could make a pattern to accommodate a bigger size range! Can't wait to see what you sew with it! xxx
Hello Tasneem! You can purchase the pattern from my website here: gwenstellamade.com/shop/p/orion-hat-newsboy-beret-sewing-pattern It’s a digital sewing pattern that you can print at home. No international postage needed! ☺️
Hi sweetie. I love your videos, but I'm curious. I've seen hats like yours that others have made. They are in many stores and have been around for a long time. Many youtubers are claiming this design and other newsboy caps and flat caps are their creation, and we are not to sell them commercially. What makes your design any different than others that I have seen? Just curious, because I make a hat just like yours, along with flat caps and I can sell them because nobody has a claim on this design. Just curious how your design differs. Thank you.
Hi TommyC, thank you for your comment. I agree, this is a basic design that has been around for hundreds of years and I do not claim this design as mine. I am not sure why others may claim this design as theirs. I also have no problem with people using my pattern to make and sell at a small scale (i.e. their home sewing business) with credit to me as the pattern designer. When people approach me about this, usually I just ask that they help my sewing pattern business by leaving me a feedback. I think the differences between this specific hat pattern and others would be: (1) less baggy body - a lot of designs I looked at have a classic baggy head area but I wanted a more streamlined look for my hat (2) different brim shape (3) different sizing - every patternmaker / designer has their own preference so the sizing I picked for my sewing pattern is different from others I can't think of anything else to add at this moment and I hope this answers your question! What other fabrics would you like to see me use with this hat sewing pattern?
Wool? Faux leather? Or something else??? 🤓
