    Finally found a video that actually explained/showed how to keep the model smooth while I sculpt! Now I'm actually enjoying sculpting in blender, never thought I'd be able to. I had hope because I remember using a program about 10 years ago that did the job just fine but stopped using it for whatever reason back then. So I knew it should at least be possible.

    and about smooth shading absolutely agree because it's hard to notice a mistake with it

    dyntopo seems like a great way to get into sculpting if you're new to sculpting in general

    Probably the most broken feature in blender, sometimes it works, most of the time it doesn't. Thanks for the video

      oh, sorry you don't like it. The Dyntopo feature usually works great for me.

      @@RyanKingArt Oh I like it, but I usually spend several hours simply to set the brush to make a single stroke, and most of the time I give up because the result are not what expected.
      I know it is a very good tool but it is as much frustrating 😕

    i'll just add this cause that was the specific thing i was looking for and i just find the answer right now.
    If you want to keep the dyntopo in "relative detail" but only in one direction (only gaining or only loosing detail) you have an option "subdivide" "collapse" or "both" in the dyntopo panel ;).
    (like my problem was that i wanted to gain details but didnt want to ever lose it, cause idk why but my brush seem to go trough the mesh from time to time, and for example, if i'm sculpting the back of the head, it happened that i go back to the face only for seeing the face is completely destroy by low res due to a single brush click trough the head :')

    Hello Isnt it possible to use vdm brushes in Dyntopo? Because when ı try to use them it doesnt generate new geometry and the vdm brush looks stretched and messed whenever ı try to use them while Dyntopo is on.

    I have tried for years to sculpt with blender, but no matter how I try is starts to lag if I want to make something with good detail, ok my computer is not the top but its a lot higher than mid range, I find using Sculptris, that does exactly what Dyntopo does, adds more verts when needed, well ive been able to make super detailed models with no lag then just export them as .obj and import into blender to paint and texture them with no problems.

    Hi Ryan! Thank you so much for this amazing tutorials. I was wondering if you can help me with an issue that I'm having. I've been researching so much, but I can't find information to solve this problem. You mentioned in this video that if you use dyntopo 3 your computer might lag depending on your pc specs. The issue I'm having is that my computer lags and I have to put in on 6 or more when I start a project. My specs are AMD Ryzen 9 7950x3d, GPU Nvidia 4070. 64gb RAM ddr5. I really don't know what I'm doing wrong or why my computer lags so bad even with good specs. Any ideas? TIA!

      I would like to also mention that my computer lags with remesh as well. I can't create a project with more than 150.000 vertices without blender crashing on me

    pls help me need advice im self-education and use a video lesson that was filmed in 2020 and he did use a button detail flood fill that make more faces on object what, so what i have to do if there no button like that?

  • @romarisdesigns4012
    @romarisdesigns4012 Год назад +1

    So sometimes after I smooth my objects after combining them in object mode, I then go into sculpt mode to try sculpting details in the mesh surface with the dynotopo feature still checked on but nothing happens. But the only sculpt tool that seems to work with it checked is the F Grab one...what could be wrong?

    My decimate modifier gave me more face counts under the collapse tab? Why is that. I have around 1.5 mil faces

    Hey! Does the drawing tablet use a computer to connect to or is it its own standalone unit?

    • @RyanKingArt
      @RyanKingArt  Год назад

      Most drawing tablets connect via USB to a computer or laptop, but you can also buy some tablets, that have a computer built into the screen. The tablets that I use, you just connect through USB to the computer.

  • @яиграювбравлстарс-з7и

    oh no :|
    dyntopo doesn't not work for me. it just turns the quad sculpt into the triangles and does nothing more :c
    Maybe it's just my weak laptop
