    There are no reports of optics severing and flying off the PDP slide. It was a social media "gun influencer" who spread out that fear, and some Walther PDP owners believed it. I own 3 PDP models with red dot optics and zero issues. But, the fable spread out like a wild fire, and Walther reacted with a new design, leaving already PDP owners questioning, "Why?" Thus creating worries among many.

    • @craigmetallaw
      @craigmetallaw Год назад +4

      Yes, there was a "concern" about what could happen by one reviewer, NOT any proven examples of it happen. I know Walther's biased but you can see they did one 50,000 rounds without an issue with the optic.

    I have the 1st Gen mounting system, I used the bule Loctite and the specs Walther said to use and after 1000 rounds I have no issues. I mounted a Holosun HE507C-GR-X2-ACSS, won't need to remove it because the battery tray is on the side of the optic. Thanks for the info, I will be getting the PDP F-series for summertime EDC and will use your advice for the newer gen model 😀

      According to Walter they have had ZERO failures with this system. Not one! It’s funny how people make stuff up. You said some are reporting it failing. Show me one picture of an actual failure.

    The gen 2 is a marketing response. I've fired 5000 rounds through my gen 1 without any issues. "shear force" is an engineering concept that really doesn't apply to this configuration and forces acting on the plate. You do need the thread locker )blue) and I used a torque screw driver to do it right.

    • @realpracticaltactical
      @realpracticaltactical  Год назад +1

      I use the Wheeler Accurizing driver (aka F.A.T. torque wrench). You can find a link to it on the blog post that I link in the description. Just click on the link in the description and then scroll down until you find the section for this video, and the link to the Wheeler will be there 🤙🏽 Thanks for watching!

    This is my first gun and i got a free vortex viper to put on it. But i realized i cant adjust the sight to zero in the red dot without taking the factory rear sight off. Is there a way to just unscrew the rear sight from top or from the bottom of the slide? Or do i need to jam a punch into the left side of it? I dont even know which size punch i would need

    • @realpracticaltactical
      @realpracticaltactical  Год назад

      The rear sight needs to be pressed or punched out. I pressed mine out from right to left, and installed the new one also from right to left
