@@Misteranderson123 tbh its not that bad, but skillwise its hard to find and enjoyable fight, sometimea its too easy, too random, or too sweaty, so i just play with friends, and also play a diff game lol
Brother, you are single-handedly saving my DBFZ career XD I cannot wait to get back into the lab and just train and train and train!! Personally, I'm having issues with Blueku's instant transmission attacks. His EX elbow, his kicks, and his command grab. While I can pick up the starting animations, my mind blanks once he disappears XD I've thanked you on a previous video, but I gotta thank you again! I appreciate you for the time and effort it took to make all your informative videos! It's helping me become less frustrated with the game, and myself, and helping me become a better fighting game hobbyist 0_0 On top of all that, it's helping me have fun with my brother! (Who's extremely better than I am, but I refuse to stay down, man!!)
i would also recommend using goku blue's medium grab so that the huge ass green circle isnt what ur reacting to as well as adding in pressure reset points so you don't just block for 3 years and know when to mash
i wouldn't recommend that unless you're training specifically against Goku blue. Evading a command grab wont teach people how to break throws more consistently.
Just letting the CPU at 100 with Ginyu go ham is enough to open me up in less that 10 seconds. Longest I've gone is a full minute. If you set the assists to fast cooldown it brakes the bots offense in so many gross ways. Makes blocking humans seem predictable. That all being said, I still fold to DR way too often.
Seeing you block the strings was so rewarding and it's something I want to try in practice when I get the chance. I really want to get good at this game but it just feels like what i practice is thrown out the window once I go into a real fight.
@gravityracergt For me, neutral is a huge pain. I can't do anything to hit my opponents no matter what I try. I really do want to give this game a chance but I found myself getting upset more than I wanted to
Oh wait a thought this was a Dragon Ball Legends video lol that's my fault. FighterZ has been very fun to learn and I try to focus on other things in a match while keeping the BnB stuff in memory. It's actually pretty easy!

I suck at fighting games, absolutely no talent, but I haven't been able to take dbfz off my hands because it's so fun! Finally I have a way to practice blocking! I gotta get 1M BP this week XD, Thanks Acolyte!
I’ve been really wanting something like this, I realized that against semi competent players I wouldn’t be able to do anything, but as soon as I slowed down and tried defending more I noticed I did a lot better. So something like this to practice is nice.
Honestly I thought the aim of the game is to know good combos and mix ups. Not to genuinely learn blocking, but with me knowing this I have a feeling i will be winning games a lot more often. So thank you for this huge tip
0:39 I'd say the real purpose of a stagger is more to reset your string. if you think your opponent is mashing you absolutely don't wanna stagger because youre minus. its more useful when your opponent is reacting to the stagger and therefore pressing his button to late. so if you have a read on your opponent staggering you gotta press those buttons.
so staggering is something to be used after you've gotten a read on your opponent. first you want to test the opponent by doing incomplete blockstrings on them and then blocking to see how they respond, do they respect, reflect or mash? If they mash, frametrap; if they reflect, dragon rush; if they respect, do staggers into mixups. right? and obviously as the game on they'll change what they do and you have to adapt to that.
My biggest issue isn't so much blocking but tech, I find it extremely hard to deal with up tech and actually up teching on my own. I hold up square and it just doesn't do anything
New to this game and sometimes playing with friends locally but they beat my ass by just mashing everything and I get hit all the time xD I hope I can improve my defence with this and keep my anxiety at low lvls
@@MisterAcolyte I know you’re not exactly a controller reviewer but I’ve been trying to decide between the fighting commander and hat new version for the ps4 and 5. Think it’s better or is the fighting commander the one?
@@riastradh I'm a ps4 player. I've had this problem as well so I had my cousin watch me play and he said sometimes when I reacting to a quick low or quick overhead I'll point my stick slightly to far towards the middle instead of bottom left/right. Bear in mind it was so slight I didn't even realise if and I've been playing for years lol. Just make sure your blocking low and not crouching 👍
I’m trying to defend myself against certain characters like broly’s EX grab or super baby’s insane projectile pressure but I do not own these characters. Buying them isn’t an option for me so will I have to just try to find someone who plays these characters?
the best option would be to simulate those situations with other characters! Baby is mostly ki blasts, and dealing with command grabs is the same for all characters!
@@MisterAcolyte alright thanks. I guess Ill try to practice with Z broly but like you said in your video. I’m still trying to get used to specific character animations
you don't have to start out complex! You can start with button, button, overhead - button, button, low - button throw until you get comfortable enough to make more advanced recordings!
@@MisterAcolyte yeah, that's the thing, for some reason can't seem to get any character to be able to do a button-button-overhead without there being a massive gap between them I tried to look it up and all I get are instant airdash overhead tutorials- which I already know how to do- Basically, I can't do the basics apparently- but I can make them do a blockstring on me- yeah I'm doing this out of order I feel
I can't believe it took me 3 months of playing this game to learn I can 6m just by pressing it sooner- 6m comes out faster than even just jumping- I don't have to understand it- it just works I guess
do you mean cross up or 6m? in most instances a 6m cant cross you up. The best option to beat cross ups is to buffer a jump (hit up back quickly then return to blocking) this can get you out of throws and cross ups if your opponent thinks you're going to stay put!
that is when you put a pause in between your buttons! for example doing light, light, wait, light light, or light, light, medium, wait, light light! stuff like that!
