Good video aco! Thanks man. Was watching lotus' stream of some big online tournament today and dropped your name as who I thought had the sickest zamasu when that character became topic haha
I wish there was more technical content for dbzf like frame data’s, showing the techniques the game never shows such as spark vanishing cancels and other techniques. Thanks for your vids
Aco the reason defense gets a bad rap is because of people like gogeta blue for example where even if you reflect you are unsafe after the reflect not just that gogeta is safe on most of the defensive options and some characters offense are just too much sometimes Edit: I like the vid i learned a couple stuff
What you’re talking about is reflect proof strings, most characters have reflect proof strings, that’s why you have to learn when to reflect. Don’t just reflect at random
@@tearitup5864 You are correct but it's true that it's kinda bullshit that they keep making new characters innately better at offense, to the point where the guys I play with now that pick up top tier for the sake of top tier literally don't even know how they are opening you. Not like they gonna beat me with that shit, but it's sad that such is the style of play that ArcSys keeps inviting.
Gogeta is not immune to defensive options. In fact, he's highly susceptible to guard cancels since his buttons have so much recovery and he relies heavily on special moves in blockstrings. It's important not to just write things off as "this character is too good". that's when you truly lose because you're no longer learning or improving.
Im at a point where my offense is good my neutral game sucks and so does my defense i havent played enough to know the complete blockstrings of certain characters but at the stage im at having to fight gogeta is extremely painful the team iplay is trunks zamasu janemba so my guard cancels suck
The main reason why defense gets a bad rep is because how bad the frame delay is sometimes, playing online without net code makes it hit or miss when you’re trying to defend so most people just decide the monke brain button mash technique
The netcode is not ideal for blocking or breaking throws in high delay, but that's not what this video is about. If you go in with the mindset that you can't block, you're holding yourself back as a player. It's important to understand the tools at your disposal and how to use them.
thanks, but I think you missed the point of this video. This isn't a list of every option that beats buttons. If it were I'd have mentioned spark, DPs, and armor moves.
not gonna lie i thought at 3k hours i had gotten a good grip on the game but defense is def a problem for me. i feel like i just be blocking looking for some scape goat and i never really considered defense like this, ty aco
Hey about guard cancel vanish… there’s this tech I see in bracket a lot where a player does a guard cancel vanish… but it only cost one bar and they reappear with a grounded 5H instead of the traditional vanish
personally I turn off quick tag, it makes it easier to call assists at neutral without tagging by mistake. I prefer just holding the button which works better for the option select imo!
Please someone help me. I don't play this often so I'm lacking on system mechanics knowledge but... There are situations when my assists are available, I am blocking attacks but when I try to do guard cancel it puts on X over that character and it won't let me change. Why does this happen? Super annoying.
@@jondan4331if you can get them to block you are winning. Once youve got them blocking you can apply pressure and go for mixups to break their guard. The player who is on offense is favoured.
Been playing this game for over a year and still learning new tech. Thanks Aco!
These tips and tricks videos are really nice!
thanks! glad you enjoyed it!
Amazing video but I’ll be lurking until the baby 2 guide comes out 😫🫡
Same, I NEED it.
I don't need that much the guide but i need some tips on his zoning and neutral so I'm waiting 2 xd
That is super helpful well done aco

hahaha i appreciate that!
Another pog vid thanks for the tips aco
no problem!
This is great! I am going to try and apply these options in my gameplay. Thanks!
no problem! glad to hear it!
Now we need a general mix video explaining float, fast fall, 4L L etc

training mode has in game frame data! you just have to turn it on in the display settings!
Nice, very useful. Thanks
glad to hear it!
Learning something new
Nice info!
What music is this ? It's good for relaxing and chill
thanks! the track is Elegant Summer! it's from melty blood! it's also my go-to track for guides! hahaha

Great video but you forgot the most deadly and hated option Lvl 3 in a blockstring!

Been playing this game for years and had no idea that the guard cancel exists
glad to help!
I feel like it would have been even better to release this before the dashblock video
Hey about guard cancel vanish… there’s this tech I see in bracket a lot where a player does a guard cancel vanish… but it only cost one bar and they reappear with a grounded 5H instead of the traditional vanish
That's only possible when you input Guard Cancel despite having no other assists alive to Guard Cancel into
that's a solo guard cancel. You can only do it when you are down to your final character.
@@MisterAcolyte what button do I press? Is it just another vanish?
@@XyLo2517 it's the same buttons as a regular Guard Cancel (forward+assist) but it will only trigger when you're down to your final character
@@StrawHatNatsu thanks
Can you talk about instant air dash and floating? I already mastered these techniques but I don't know where and why use those
With raw tag, do you have any specific recommendations on changing the settings on how you do it?

You forgot raw level one kaioken with base goku ;)

You cant call assists or tag for a certain period of time after blocking something is the answer
How do u beat someone who only blocks and run away tho?
I keep running into people who won't do anything until I do, very timid
Or someone who is hiding in the corner
Frame trap them until the 300 seconds ends
Still wondering... I keep losing to people who run away

Word
this game is hard as shit
it can be! But honestly if you take things one step at a time, and get used the mechanics, it becomes really manageable!
