Este trabajo es el segundo volumen de una coleccón dedicada a la figura del arreglista, que muchas veces pasa desapercibida, pero que tanta importancia tiene en formaciones en donde se requiere escribir para varios instrumentos de viento, desde quinteto , sexteto hasta la formación standard de bigband.
El primer volumen estuvo dedicado al gran músico, compositor y arreglista, Alfons Carrascosa. Ahora son los arreglos de Luigi Grasso ( algunos originales y otros basados en arreglos grabados en los años 50) y casi todos los temas son del gran pianista y compositor Tad Dameron .
En este nuevo CD, tenemos la participación de Pasquale Grasso, un guitarrista excepcional con una técnica depurada y un lenguaje y estilo propios, basados en el bebop. La sólida base rítmica se completa con el contrabajista italiano Luca Pisani y nuestro batería habitual, Esteve Pi. En esta ocasión, los vientos son todos componentes de mi proyecto Sant Andreu Jazz Band, todos muy buenos instrumentistas y cada vez mejor solistas : Joan Mar Sauqué y Victor Carrascosa, trompetas, Joan Codina, trombón, Rita Payés, tromboón y voz, Joan Martí, saxo tenor, Marçal Perramon, saxo tenor y clarinete y Max Salgado, trompa

I love to watch Joan's expressions when one of his colleagues or students surprises him during their solos. The sheer delight on his face is worth noting.

Joan Chamorro is pure genious as are the musicians he gathers around him. And what a lovely man he is. Had the priviege of meeting him again last week at Cafe Centrale in Madrid and actually meeting and talking to "Mr Magic Fingers" Ignasi Terraza. It might be worth moving to Barcelona from England to be able to hear and see his various ensembles on a regular basis! I have yet to hear Magic de la Veu! I keep trying!

Super performance - great solos but a pity Rita wasn't given a few bars. If you think you are hearing a piano in the mix you're not; it's Pasquale! He has such a command of his guitar, an amazing technique and incredible facility due to his ability to span so many frets. Fantastic!

Impresionado por Víctor Carrascosa que buen fraseo y técnica ..los hermanos Grasso lo mejor de Italia,Maestro Chamorro viajó a Barcelona en Junio del Próximo año especialmente para conocer la Sant Andreu Jazz Band y tener el privilegio de ver una presentación en vivo (Ojalá se concrete) por mientras los sigo siempre x este medio.. @@billpearce3850 Not a disagreement. This group is superb! I always enjoyed the sound of the bari sax in every group I played in. Hell, I enjoy the sounds of all the saxophones. I actually have a tenor sax. No, I can't play it. I can make noises with it. 😥
