I like how Luigi Grasso always seems so complimentary and supportive of the young musicians he performs with.
Perfection! The pianist is a master as are the two saxophonists! I could not ask for more. Love it!
Absolutely out of this world! What talent doing a real number on Laura. !
This is about my 12th time listening to these talented musicians in the last two days. Can't stop!
So much talent, all directed by Mr. Chamorro. He's probably the main reason all those kids are so very good. May you live a long and wonderful life. Life and music just wouldn't be the same without you!!! Thank you for all of your wonderful music and for sharing!!! God bless you Jefe Chamorro!!!
I know I love this so much when I listen closely two times in a row, and then start reading the comments and pressing likes on all the good comments until my eyes hurt. I also know I will come back to this clip many, many more times...💓
Always enjoy when Joan invites Luigi Grasso to play with the band. He's a very strong alto player. Thanks Joan!
Congratulations! One of the best interpretations of this Jazz Classic "Laura" that I've ever heard.
So rich, so tasteful, so achingly beautiful. Bravo to Team Chamorro!
One of the most beautiful song arrangements on youtube, without a doubt!!! Thank you Mr. Joan Chamorro. The most beautiful arrangement ever, of that song!!!
Beautifully played by all - and Luigi's glissandos are surely impossible! Joan Marti just gets better and better. This performance is so relaxing, therapeutic, even ... I could almost feel my blood pressure coming down! Wonderful!
One of the most gorgeous renditions of my favorite tune. Oh so beautiful!
Luigi is just one of the most talented alto players on the net. The band student is the next Luigi. Who else plays piano like this, No One. Listen to him walk that upright bass, beautifully done!!!
and Luigi's playing with these guys is stratospheric. i always love how the seasoned pros sound with this band, sometimes more than their other work...
Laura is a face in the misty light..... another fantastic rendition of a haunting song I love! Thank you Mr Chamorro!😁
A most beautiful rendition, arrangement I've ever heard! Bravo again to the Maestro. I can't listen to It enough!
Those saxos become alive when played by Luigi and Joan. Why those instruments are engaged into a dialogue and shiver under the spell of both, Joan and Luigi...and we all join in...unavoidably. And when we swear it cannot get better, Ignasi and his piano waltz in to join. MASTERFUL.
That gawky kid, Joan Marti, in the 2011 videos I have been re-watching has developed into a poised and confident young man and an excellent musician under the leadership of the wonderful Mr. Chamorro. He will go far.
Martin Roberts +++
Yes, he really has come far as a player and sounds great. In those older videos you can see how much he truly loves this awesome music.
Agreed.
Bela banda!
Ótima interpretação dos metais!
E o piano maravilhoso muito bem improvisado!
Belo arranjo!
The most beautiful arrangement today!
Excellence. Can't be improved.
Joan Martí, what a talent! Wonderful tone and feeling.
AND BEING SO YOUNG...WHAT A TALENT AND A FUTURE ...HEAVEN ON EARTH IF YOU ASK ME.
Joan and all what he selected (music, artists), is simple great, Ignasi at piano and so in, is the Best music, what the world todas can hear and enjoy, Big huge Joan from Berlin
I’m amazed and somewhat baffled how this performance by the entire ensemble both makes my heart ache and soothes me so... Charlie Parker, you can blow now, if you want to, they’re through. Bravo ! 🙏🏼
A outstanding improvisation of a wonderful standard,
"LAURA".
Got to hear it at least twice. Then the "halo" effect...got to watch the movie...perhaps it is also this good.
Oh Please! Let this music never end.................
Like so much in music, the Laura theme almost never happened. Otto Preminger who was directing the film wanted to use Ellington's Sophisticated Lady. David Raskin who was scoring the film objected; he wanted to contribute his own theme. Enter, Alfred Newman, director of music for Fox pictures. Newman told Preminger to give Raskin the weekend. What a difference a weekend makes!
These super people...they bled while performing ... and we absorbed every drop of their energy
Beautiful, thank you. Joan and his wonderful young talents are the Soul of Barcelona - fittingly so as the great city responds to the recent evil.
I LOVE that the folks at Sant Andreu study a lot of the bebop tradition. Mr. Marti, you are on your way! It takes time to become yourself in this music, and you are off to a wonderful start. Great work, Maestro Chamorro!
No se puede tocar mejor. Es una verdadera delicia escuchar estos musicos !!!
Amazing maestro Chamorro! Laura is one of my best songs for ever! Bravissimi Luigi and Joan. Congratulations you all!
Mario, Catalunya/Brasil/Italia salve!
Breathing fresh life into a standard I've haven't heard in years. So nice.
Hi Joan, your students are absolutely amazing. I'm a life-long jazz fan, and a teacher (though not music). I just have so much admiration for what you're doing with these young musicians. I don't know any details about your teaching approach, but your affection and support for your students is inspiring. Thank you so much!
THESE TWO YOUNG MEN ARE SENSATIONAL PLAYING THEIR SAXOPHONES. BEAUTIFUL MUSIC, NICE AND JAZZY! SYLVIA! FL 5/14//2020
Just for a few listeners whom enjoy good tunes...love it
One of my most beloved tunes, played by you musicians with so much feeling and empathy; congratulations to all and thanks for a wonderful performance. Wolfgang Suehrer, Australia
A perfect, charming, enchanting Jam Session on this marvelous theme. The two saxes are just wonderfull, impossible to say who is better
I love listening to Erroll Garner playing this tune but now I have a new favourite. Especially like now 0200 in the night
Captivating, moving, emotional, tender, engulfed by emotions here, bordering on tears. What a lovely arrangement of a beautiful song, as performed by Luigi Grasso and Joan Marti. Ignasi Terraza, what can I say?....brilliant and lovely, as usual! I don't think I am alone for as I look at Rita's enraptured expressions in the background, she is completely taken by this lovely rendition. The magic is wonderful to experience. Thank you Joan Chamorro, you bring out the best in all of those fortunate to be around you; and we, the listeners, have the heavens within our reach.
Embodied Perfection and a work of Art
Thanks for expressing what most of us feel about this masterpiece
Totally agree! Very beautiful performance.
your comment is so complete. You are a poet yourself and can describe that which is almost indescribable.
Wow, Joan Chamorro. This is absolute bliss. What great Sax playing. Loved it. Thanks for sharing. Dallas
I can't understsnd why snyone would give this sbthumbs down. I'll just say tank you. A great bunch of working musicians putting their hearts into sonething.

What a tender rendition of this timeless classic! Thank you!
Oh my. Is that ever good. An old tune that sounds fresh. 👍🏻👏👍🏻👏👏
Espetacular
Luigi and Joan sax solos make for a mellow and sweet rendition of this tune. Both have great tone. Well written arrangement. Way to go Joan.
Fantastici entrambi
Loved this interpretation of this Gem from the American song book.
Tasteful rendition of LAURA, the hauntingly beautiful movie theme composed by David Raksin. Some nice Bird quotes, Joan!
NARAVILLAS DE MARAVILLAS. NO ME CANSO DE ESCUCHAR.
This song is the reason why my parents named me Laura. It used to be my grandfather’s favorite song. What an honor ❤️
Luigi grazzo brings a lot of Charly Packer in his music. Love it
Thanks Joan Martí and Luigi Grasso for this most outstanding rendition of Laura, brilliant!
Jimmie, the same thing happens to me. "Just one more song". Many thanks for Sr. Chamorro for making all this fine music available on RUclips!!!
Guauuu... So different, unique and wonderful version... Love it!
This makes probably the 20th time listening to this masterpiece. It is enthralling and entrancing and I echo someone else's comment about Rita's reactions in the background. Totally fitting example of many fans' reactions. A true achievement here. Can't get enough.
Merveilleuse interprétation de ce standart
Maravilhoso! Charlie Parker certamente aprovaria.
Damn!Luigi Grasso is just incredibly wonderful!!
Just when it can't possibly get any better......it gets better. Wonderful, thank you all. The gift that just keeps giving.
Great solo by the blind pianist too.
Outstanding piano there in the background.
Great old standard, loved hearing it.
Classic jazzinterpretation of a great melody in it`s best meaning!
Thanks for this insightful rendition of my favorite tune, Laura.
My favorite musical piece as well. I heard for the first time when I was 9 years old and spent 30 years trying to find it. Thank God for internet.
Bella! Interpretación sublime
Exquisite!
This version is so beautiful, with Luigi we may have an idea about how Charlie Parker did sound. And i love the contrast between the two saxos. And well saxophone is so often badly played by noisy grotesque exuberant players, but here everything is perfectly controled and so dreamy as the theme required. The king Eroll Garner played that tune often and I m sure he would have love Joan and Luigi version. As always Ignasi is wonderfull at the piano and the supporing section just carry the two solists to their best.
Beautiful melody superply presented by masterful mussicians
Argentina
Excellent! Thank You
Que hermosura que deleite musical me encantan!
Watching these young folks develop, as someone else said, is a joy. And this piece is outstanding.
just simply superb, what a performance. I'd really like you guys to come down here to Brazil, with the precious girls
Words fail me! Magical music from these wonderful saxophonists. Every time I hear Joan Chamorro and his crew from Spain I am in awe! Such great music. Laura has never sounded so good for and old gal!!
LO MEJOR DE LI MEJOR
LA MEJOR VERSIOB.
❤❤❤❤❤
Outstanding take on a beautiful old and haunting theme. Well done !
Congratulations on Professor Joan, Your students have a master quality, which speak a lot from your teachings. You cannot distinguish between them and the Professionals, with the due respect.....
Made an old man happy on a gloomy morning - this was simply beautiful.
the amazing duel between the soprano and baritone saxophones is superb, both are excelent!
Come on man. Is this your idea of a joke, or is it that you do not know the difference in the sounds of a soprano,
alto, tenor, and baritone?
Sensacional! Notáveis interpretações.
Every time I listen to it I cry. It's haunting!!!
Idem. Filme PB de 1944 . Gene Tierney linda
You know what ? I feel happy..........
Bravo, bravo, bravo. Another wonderful arrangement by The Maestro of Maestros, Joan Chamorro. Un Maestro e musico de primera calidad!
Que trancaso. Nadie an grabado " Laura" como Usted. Gracias Sr. Chamorro!
Beautiful. Music. Love this band.
The alto evokes memories of Charlie Parker. Brilliant arrangement and playing. You have one of the grestest jazz factories Joan. Congrats.
Brilliant , Luigi and Joan really nailed this haunting refrain, and predictably Ignasi added more weight with his piano solo
Totally phenomenal!
I dream away. Love it. Bravo
Beautiful music no words just beautiful.
LO MEJOR DE LO MEJOR.!QUE MARAVILLA!
