We played 2 memorable nights up at Central Saloon in Seattle, Washington last month and because we were already loaded in and mostly soundchecked on night 2, we were able to fit in this tune before everything opened up. A huge thanks to Central Saloon for being such a great venue top to bottom and letting us come in early to play a bit, to Kelly Oden for the always exceptional camera work, and of course the extremely talented Josh, Carson, and Reina for lending their time and learning this fun chordy song. They are fantastic on RUclips but their stage presence and energy make a live appearance well worth a look.

Ah this brings back memories...the first verse, not heard, is about leaving Blackheath village in London, a place where Chris Difford and Glen Tilbrook of Squeeze lived near to and frequented...'The church and the steeple' are one end of Blackheath village while the other end was the 'laundry (now closed) on the hill'.

She's shy that's all....plus she has some dirty troublefunk and swamp blues leanings ,lead guitar and acoustic and vocal. Underneath that beautiful quiet persona is a women who could bring down pick up trucks with a lasso.......but only if pi"* ed off enough. Cool ,like the other musicians( cept the guys learning to sing) Toni's a completeness on her own and an equal compliment to Rienna.
So nice to see and hear them.
At least she's not squatting in an attic banging up smack and helping the world stayed depressed like an old Lenoard Cohen album. Fuñ...happy happy. All of this bunch are poetry in motion, still unflowering......years of good stuff to come yet.

Squeeze were brilliant, not many have done covers of them. Great work. I remember playing the LP this was on cassette in my car, over and over. Also saw the Squeeze keyboard player and singer Paul Carrak, I think, playing this live on tour I'm Austalia in the early 80s

A retail store I used to work at years ago had this song in heavy rotation in their short playlist, which actually made me sick of it for a while. That said, this version is amazing and if this was the version I had to listen to over and over I probably would have been happier at that old job. Nicely done everyone!
