what is bad in screaming in off-game time ? I even miss screaming sounds, which are not in this match . Do you see how footballers scream after goals ? Players have right to explore their emotions in off-game time. You are selfish .

Abstract Exchange how difficult to score a goal? In 90 minutes how many goals can you make? Compare with the points you can make on TT? You have to make ‘hysteria’ screaming everytime you get a point? LoL.

but they scream in off-game time. it does not bother anythings and anyones. If they politely scream, then it is normal. It is their freedom to explore emotions. The most important is that screamings must be polite, cultured, frienship. Do not notice to their screams. And you should scream too, not only in playing table tennis.

Yea they were totally dolls... They were the dorkiest table tennis players. Competition might have been a factor but it was primarily due to internet access, cultural climate in the 90s, and policies within the national team. What Policies??, People just speculate a lot, Oh! They're communists, Oh!, it's like a military camp, Of course from a team that only targets winning and losing to foreigners is forbidden, They can't afford to make training a joke and they'll fight not to lose to foreigners,They're not Americans or Europeans who finds humor in everything, make a lot of drama and controversy and makes a lot of merriment on winning a tourney, they are actually Relieved when they win cos the pressure is off their shoulders and they probably just want to rest, and they get holidays, they get days off, go to dinner together, go to concerts, take selfies, live their life. You can check their Weibo Accounts if you want to, I think it's primarily due to their inability to speak English early on, But since Rio when the participants were made to learn English, they've been able to communicate with the world and to interact further, foreign players like RSM, TB, DO that played years ago will tell you they're just normal guys like everyone, their dedication to winning and winning without flinching is what's made people find disrespectful labels like "machine" for players that give a lot and a huge part of their lives to achieve success and uphold their country's honor

Any thoughts on why there's that lack of consistency? Pressure? Did they come into the match cold?

  • @abstractexchange5057
    @abstractexchange5057 5 лет назад +1

Fan Zengdong is so fast ! Timo Boll has some troubles with backhand to return balls of Fan. Some his failed backhands in rallies show the incompilience of neccessary low pose. Fan always keep low pose in rallies, so that he can effectively play backhand and switch between backhand and forhand. Besides, I think that the chinese rubber gives Fan Zengdong more controls in fast forehand topspins. The popular speed rubers now help to easy produce fast balls, It saves physical strenght, but it is difficult to control directions of very fast balls. When make very extreme fast balls, some chinese rubbers help easy to control directions of balls (accuracy), but need more physical strenght.
Good match. But really so extreme fast balls, not very comfortable to follow balls to watch. I do not think that rallies are longer than in the past time. It is because that nowaday balls are heavier. It is necessary to reduce the weight of ball so that balls are slowed down by air to reasonable human reacting speed, like a ligh weight paper ball is slowed down in air. Need to apply standard of technology to make rigid and LIGHT WEIGHT balls. Size of ball is not the most important factor of ball speed in air, but weight of ball is the most influence factor of ball speed in air.

People here and there see FZD fight for every ball, show incredible touch, incredible speed, incredible physique, incredible power off both wings, play inhumanly shots you get scared he'll get injured and still say it's all speed and power and they don't like his style
But you like the style of a player that plays backhand flick and rallies all day to win matches
People are so ungrateful, If only people truly loved this game!!!!
Well the power and speed will keep him winning while the styles you like or the spin you want to see will keep people on lower steps of the podium or no podium finish at all

Why not Ma Long? Normaly the world champion is also qualified! Reason: He withdraws form Worldcup 2018. Why? I don't know! So: Lin Guayuan substitutes Ma Long. It is kind of crazy: Normally Lin Guayuan was not qualified to the world cup though he was 2nd position in Asian continental cup! Because Ma Long was qualified als World Champion and Fan Zhendong was qualified as Asian continental cup winner. And only 2 players of one nation are allowed in world cup! Whereas Asian Cup 3rd place (Lee sangsu) was qualified!
In Word Championship Lin Gaoyuan would be qualified. That's for sure!

Like @Yousef said, 2 of the games were 11-5 and 11-6, and FZD was dominant in general. 'Rekt' pretty much sums it up for me.
I'm not sure if it is in reality possible to say that a rally is close ever. Who's to say that if a rally went longer, Timo would have a better chance to win a point? It is just as easy to say that even if the rallies were longer, FZD would have still won the points. The point is that you can never know.
No hate. I just think that the concept of 'close rallies' makes no sense.
      How would you define 'rekt'?

He already got the world cup championship in 2016, so technically he hasn't come closer to it. But by getting this champion, he will get more possibilities to join the 2020 Olympics, because it is insanely competitive inside the Chinese national team, even players like ML XX FZD LGY, none of then can say they will 100% be able to go to Tokyo in 2020. So yes, indeed one step closer.

Amazing match. As fast as FZD is, Timo never seemed that far behind and in some points Timo out gunned him, I for one am amazed at Timo and his ability to up his game year on year, hopefully with more experience against FZD he will gain the the ability to anticipate his next move. It seems to me that the Chinese have had way more years to study Timos game and with each new prodegy beating them will get harder as each player will bring new quirks with them.
I get the feeling Timos experience will be the catalyst for a new generation of Chinese beating players when and if he decides to coach, but we all know guys like Timo are 1 in a million, which for a populous country like China may be 10 in a million, 😁 No offence intended and of course, table tennis in China is a right of passage, passed on from father, mother to child.
Here in the UK, good luck finding a decent table tennis club or venue without a host of infighting issues, every new sports Center is filled with badminton courts.
    Argh, I digress.
    Congratulations FZD..
