Do you think you would buy one at over $6K?

Not at that price. I wait and check the used market in12 months.😊

as a radiologist it's actually nice to know the anti-magnetic rating. won't be flashing this inside the MRI anytime soon. 😅 probably wearing an omega instead.

I thought no one is allowed in the room while the MRI is on. I wouldn’t wear any watch in there.

Clearly Oris has been competitive with other brands. They have grown significantly with their movements, dial, and functionality. Gotta to put them up there.

I dont get the fact that baseball is most popular in the US and they bring out a watch for a bb star that not many people know. ?

totally understand why Oris came out with this.
Kudos to them to being sensitive to trends in the niches segment, which definitely this piece is targetted at.
People who will buy this are collectors and want to add one of these to their collections for technical interest, and not those who are thinking of buying an "everyday watch" that ticks the usual boxes of wearability and practicality etc.
compared to the deep offerings of the big 2 brands, this is technically and arguably aesthetically less accomplished. For instance, the Omega ultra deep is rated at 2000m deeper, but is still much thinner. Also, the clasp design and quality is noticeably lower. But not forgetting the price segment and the target, i think it is a great offering at the right crowd.
I find this piece quite appealing in what it is trying to achieve.

No disrespect to Oris (glad to see them pushing out in an extreme direction), but the dimensions are a little ridiculous! 49.5mm diameter and 23.4mm thick! The Ultra Deep goes to 6k meters and is only 18m thick and 45.5m in diameter. So, being 2k less in WR; surely Oris could have sized this for better wearability?!

No matter how beautiful they make the watch its purpose is to tell time. Right? How many people on earth will ever will go to the depth of 4000m? None!!! So whats the practicality of this watch??? 😂😂😂

I don’t think they made it for any practical use. They made it to demonstrate technical skills.
