    Can’t wait for more people to try different 9a boulders! Love hearing/seeing the updates! 😊

    soo Alex thinks its a 9b bc it took less sessions then other 9b+ s, but what if he is just getting stronger and thats why it took less attempts??🤯

      Can't rule it out, although the gains are probably a lot more marginal at the top end.

      @mtbeni:
      I think your comment is pure speculation. Alex can estimate himself and his personal increase or decrease in strongness way better than a guy like you, who has never ever seem him.

    I'm not glad he downgraded, I actually feel a little sorry for Cris

      I guess it's worth reiterating that it's a proposed downgrade. Subsequent ascents will confirm whether or not it is indeed 9b or 9b+.

    Trying to establish a single grade i think is kind of an ego thing. The route should be consider between the range (9b/b+), it’s that simple for me.

      As of now, the consensus is 9b/+. One climber believes it is 9b+, the other 9b

    • @ukclimbingofficial
      @ukclimbingofficial  8 месяцев назад +2

      Maybe that’s the answer for the time being. In time, with further repeats, the grade will become refined and (hopefully) a whole lot clearer.

    As a 6a climber i fell like it should be a 9a, just because i dont like sharma.

    Uhm, am I the only one that thinks that Alex comment about Chris being over 40 and having 2 kids (not sure why that matters in terms of his shape but okay) and still being able to climb 9b (so for sure not 9b+) is a little bit on the toxic side?

    • @ukclimbingofficial
      @ukclimbingofficial  8 месяцев назад +2

      As someone just under 40, also has 2 kids, amd also runs a business I found the comment hit home, because I can tell you with absolute certainty that none of the above make climbing any easier 😅

      I totally get that being a father and having a busy job can indirectly affect performance based on the fact that a day has only 24h. Its just that plenty of top (male) athlethes manage to do just fine and I wonder if anybody assumes that e.g. Adam Ondras performance must suffer now because he became recently a father? Sure, being of a more advanced age (for a climber) is a different story. And it IS very impressive what Sharma is still able to do. I just wish Alex wouldn't have used 9b, but said something more genereal, which wouldn't have implied that 9b is seemingly the limit for Sharma.
