I went to a very small (120 kids total) religious high school with the woman who was murdered, whose name was Lee-Ann Chaffin back then. She was a grade above me but we went on a school trip to Europe together and I got to know her pretty well. She was very shy, sweet, and trusting. Kind and generous, too. When I ran out of money before the trip was over, she lent me some of hers to pay back when we got back to the US (and I did). I never came into contact with her after high school, and I was very sad to hear that she had been murdered. Heartbroken for her kids and family. I hope her evil scumbag husband rots. Rest In Peace, Lee-Ann. Thanks for being my friend. ❤️

I grew up with au pairs, I’m a nanny, most of my friends are au pairs/nannies, about 50% are live in, I have never once heard of anything scandalous happening. Stop marrying perverted men and stop blaming young women just trying to do their job.
You could also say the same about innocent people that sound overly calm when reporting murders. Being in shock can make people act unusual. That doesn’t mean they’re guilty because they didn’t sound like you think they should.
Child support toos pays ,as a bigs wigs in towns there's thinking s he could gets aways with murders is a no brainers ! With a news girls is mom's now's as mom's dreads now's appy afterwards you thinks
Isn’t that the case when 90% of mothers get custody of their kids in a divorce? Isn’t she likely to be biased and have more influence in what the kids believe?
Alex Blaze - If she has a black ♡. Decent people shield their kids, and give the truth (if kids haven't already been privy), once of mature enough age! I did, so Please, don't lump women into the same category! "Some" seems fair to say!
I've known plenty of women who think that being a wife and a mother is so important that it would be shameful to be a spinster. It's disgusting and internalized misogyny. My mother was the same way.
@Brandon O wrong, my mother telling me to marry the first man who showed interest in me regardless of his personality or his treatment of me and having multiple children because that's what she did does not apply to me. I wanted to travel and not have any children. Being subservient like my mother and being a doormat is not something that should be followed or admired. Would you kindly cite your source for saying that "women are less happy than they've ever been? " I doubt that you've surveyed every woman in the world in order to make such a generalization. The women I do know are quite content of having the power over their own lives and can study, travel, work or be a housewife and mother. The point being is that they're more than their ability to reproduce. They're married to wonderful men and are extremely happy with where they're at.
Brandon O - You’re delusional. The reality is that women now have the freedom to live alone *or* with a family. Before, they only had the choice to live with a family, no matter how much they *didn’t want one.* I’d rather live alone with a good job than feel forced into a marriage with the first disgusting old fart who would have me and destroy my health popping out 12 children I don’t want from lack of birth control. That was my great grandmother’s reality, and she can keep it!
She wanted to smack the woman who took her homeless ass in speaks volumes. There isn't a "not really" answer to that question. It is a yes or no answer.
kat exactly ,"not really" is another way of lying. Like if they don't want to totally lie they say a non direct answer like "not really", "maybe"... Knew about this from some how FBIs indicate people lying.
Do you know what? Who watching this automatically considers what the children are going through. The focus is on the adults, although yes, the children would despise their father.
Although they're being raised by his parents so they might get a biased version of events. Also, if he's such a narcissist, it could have been from the way he was parented and those kids are in for a messed up upbringing.
I agree. I can never understand why any officials would place the children in the same home that produced a killer in the first place. This seems to happen quite often and it never sits well with me. It's possible that her parents were unable to raise them-- but I think that her parents/family should be the ones to have the opportunity FIRST!
@Leonard Chornomaz I agree, but I doubt a home that raised a cold blooded cheater and killer is where they would actually receive "the best care" except on paper. And also, imagine the children's fear!
Life is a zero sum game If a woman divorces you she got take your kids and everything else I think we should bring trial by combat back to the legal system

I wouldn't listen to ^this^ person, as a mom and divorcee, I definitely don't regret having a daughter, she's the coolest person I know, but I won't lie, my husband did immediately bail when I got pregnant, just did less and less, distanced himself, and tried to start a new family with 2 other women. It's kind of a miracle this didn't happen, because he was definitely fantasizing about taking our kid and erasing me from the picture, treating me with contempt and blaming me for all of his problems. It's a shitty situation. I say don't rush into marriage OR children if you get serious with somebody, wait until you see them in all situations before you commit to marriage. You don't really know somebody until one or both of you are under stress, get sick, gain weight, go through some shit, etc.. You have to give time for their true colors to show. That being said, I wouldn't write off a family altogether. Not everybody is so weak that they'd give up on their spouse when something new comes along, just saying..
Cosmic Brownie oh please, Beyoncé wasn’t fat when Jay Z cheated, Cardi B wasn’t fat and ugly when Offset left her, it has nothing to do with weight or how you look after pregnancy🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
Any man that would kick his wife out of his home, trying to forcefully remove her so his lover can move in and replace her, is an evil person. He was pissed off because she wouldn’t make it easy for him, so he killed her.
I hate that the children are living with his parents. They're probably taking them to see him in prison. And maybe even disparaging their mother in front of them.
It's too bad she had kids with this guy in the first place, and they were forced to deal with a father who killed their mother and the emotional/psychological fallout from that.
I’m sorry???? Did that guy just try to say that this callous, adulterous murderer was not evil???? It’s just SO HARD to juggle his wife and his girlfriend. 🙄
A man would NEVER let another MAN move into his home! 🤦🏻♀️ Cmon ladies please stop being so trusting. Protect your home and relationship from temptation AT ALL COSTS. Edit: For those of you saying “mArRy SoMeOnE yOu TrUsT.” 🙄 Obviously you should marry someone you trust. But it’s still stupid to move another ADULT that isn’t family into your home! You don’t know what their intentions could be. You might trust your partner but a STRANGER cannot be trusted!
That's a great point actually, you're totally right! I don't know a man that would. But a lot of people would call the woman in that situation insecure..
Kat Scratch Fever Yes, everyone should have some level of self-control. But if your on a DIET and your actively trying to eat healthy & your partner brings home a steaming hot, delicious box of pizza 🍕, Would that be helpful to your diet? NO. And then imagine if you had to face that temptation in your home EVERYDAY. You may just have a moment of weakness, just sayin. The Bible says FLEE from temptation! Unless it’s family or children, it is not wise to let another adult live in your home. Your suppose to AVOID situations/environments that can LEAD to temptation. If not, it doesn’t matter how “strong” you are. You are just playing with fire. My point was that women tend to act on emotions and want to help people. Men will have compassion, but intellect comes 1st and he will NOT allow another man to live in his home with his wife. It’s just COMMON SENSE.
The young children lost both mom and dad. So heartbreaking. I hope as he’s rotting in pain he’s thinking of what he did to that women and their children
Unfortunately our English is a liar's language. For example, X asks, "Who stole the cookies?", Y replies, "I guess it's me!". Why should Y guess? The answer should have been "it's me!" I've not noticed many other lying languages, that's why English will be the most common language, all humans are liars!!!

One person had sex with a married man, felt guilty and confessed to the mans wife. The other person had an affair with a barely legal woman, who was having trouble with housing. Gaslit his wife about the affair, until his girlfriend confessed. Considered divorcing his wife, and mother to his two children, but decided to murder her and disguise it as an accidental drowning. Then after successfully killing her, let her body sit in the tub for over an hour before calling the police. If you think these people are the same, you have issues a youtube comment cannot come close to shedding light on.
Raya Petrova Yes. Even with her belongings, and her diary, and her texts, and phone calls, and other people witnessing evidence of an affair, and extensive interrogation without a lawyer present and full cooperation from her, there was no evidence (even circumstantial), to tie her to the murder. The video had to go so far as to say that her journal entry ‘when she moves out’, and ‘when she leaves’ could be reinterpreted to mean she knew the wife was going to be killed, but not even the police came to that conclusion. Furthermore, this man just killed his wife, it’s clear he was not particularly loyal in any sense, and he didn’t even try to make a deal to lessen his sentence.
Tina Phillip..yes, she is cold and creepy. She wanted to take over Lee Ann's life and didn't care if Lee Ann died. She is disgusting and definitely knew what was going to happen. She said she "wanted to smack" Lee Ann on occasion. She's heartless and a murderer.

This case must be old since Tim was sentenced to 13-25 years. My aunt was murdered by her stalker ex-boyfriend and the man she was on a date with was stabbed several times in 1990. Her ex-boyfriend was sentenced to 25 years and was out in 15. He is now walking free. Thankfully my family and I no longer live in the same city. The judicial system failed my Aunt and Lea-Ann. So sad.
@Missy B exactly! All depends, like I would never sleep with my boss if I were a nanny because I would never live with that guilt and a job to me means to be professional and kind, but keep distance
not a wee bit of irony in this one. based on certain books, the cross is a most fitting symbol for infidelity and murder. also for genocide, but they did not go that far in this story.
I've been with my husband 16 years. I don't know what I would feeling in my final moments if it were the person I trust most that responsible. How scared and horrified she must have been, slipping away by her husband's hands because he found someone else.
I don't know how the detectives could look past that. I think a jury would find that diary entry very compelling. What..would her lawyer claim she is psychic? I mean come on...that's some pretty good circumstantial evidence. It makes me wonder what crime she's going to commit next (or probably already has) especially if she meets someone like-minded.
I don't know the details of what went on during his trial, nor am I a lawyer, but 13.5 years is NOTHING for what he did. He took someone's life for crying out loud. To me his sentence seems more like a time-out.
@@ItsameAlex Don't fat shame. Having kids causes many women to gain weight. And many people are capable of loving someone deeply beyond the superficial world you embrace. If you want to be loved for your looks, I have bad news for you - we all get a bit grosser every year after 40.
ItsameAlex Having kids is not easy for everyone. Some people have a hard time recovering, especially back to back. If he had given her some time, she might have been able to eventually. That “nanny” might have gotten fat when she had kids, you never know.
This is absolutely sad. She was a beautiful woman and loving mother and very devoted to her husband. He had it all! Shame on him and shame on the nanny she should have known better too
He did help her find a job. She was a nanny, lol. It's pretty hard to find and keep a job when you're homeless, but it also takes a long time to save up for a house or a car working a job. It probably would've been nicer to offer to let her stay anywhere they had free space in the church, but it's not unusual for churches to have shelters.
Don't ever let strangers into your home. No matter how deperate they seem. Speaking from experience, people who "need a place to live" often times will only bring trouble into your life. There's a reason why they need a place to live either they are troublemakers and no one wants them or their family has never loved them (and they have a bunch of emotional issues).
So true!!! When a teenage or young adult woman has no place to live, chances are she's worn out her welcome where she was living before. May be slimy, treacherous.
So sad, she was devastated when she learned about the divorce..I can’t imagine how she felt while looking up at her husband pinning her down in the water.
I think about that every time I hear a story like this, you spend years of your life with someone and realize that they are the one that's taking your life. And the worst part is that he will get out one day and have plenty of years left to build a whole new life.
Horrible....plus she won't stick around for him thru prison and was the wife really voluntarily drinking Bones with ever clear or did someone mix that to blast her BAC without being so obvious??
I wondered that too. I think all accidental drownings of adults in tubs were actually murders. Several of my ex boyfriends claimed they were either too tall or too big to sit in a bathtub, so they would only take showers.
Right! How do people still fall for this? Even if she's family don't move her in or you'll be sorry🤷 Even if she's ugly, DON'T MOVE ANOTHER WOMAN INTO YOUR HOME!
That’s what an insecure person would say. Or someone that doesn’t really know the true statistics of such crimes. This doesn’t happen as often as people think. There are hundreds of thousands of family with female nanny’s that don’t go through all of this.
The image of a bride and a groom nowadays means almost nothing. People get married for the wrong reasons and cause so much heartache because of it. It is sickening.
Sometimes good parents have a kid who is a bad egg. My grandparents raised 3 upstanding, well adjusted kids who grew up to be successful.(not talking rich, more middle class) all of my aunts turned out ok but my dad wasn't the greatest guy. He had loving parents and every advantage they could give him. He still turned out to be a jerk
@Hexl702 BUT, he comes from a well-to-do family. They will be able to help him. Maybe get him started in some kind of business or just working for a family member that has a business. That's a break most in his position wouldn't get.
Even if I found a complete stranger dead I would have more emotion than this husband did finding his wife and mother to his children. My heartfelt sympathy to her family and her children. Similar thing happened to my girlfriends family. She allowed a nanny to come in and help her after her son was diagnosed w cancer at 5 months. She found out and kicked them both out. They stayed together until babysitter died. Karma I say but I don’t know exactly what happened to her. Happy to say my friend is doing awesome and so is her two kids. Cancer free for several years. Ex now lives w his parents. If it makes me a horrible person I don’t feel the least bit sorry for him. As for this man. I think he thought he could get away with anything like a lot of governmental officials. 131/2 yrs isn’t enough
When the 911 operator ask if his wife is breathing, he says no with less feeling than when people say no when asked if they want a bag at the grocery store.

How can his family have custody of their kids??? The parent who killed the other parent SHOULD NEVER have their family get custody the kids!!! It should be HER family getting custody !
Vicki Barlowe - The kids should be placed to where ever they will get most love, care and stability. I know American justice usually gives the kids to the victims family, but I think they shouldnt be the consolation prize. And not every grandparents are just up for it themselves, they may have illnesses or other hinderances. It didnt come up why they were with Tims parents.
Vicki Barlowe she might not have had family that were willing and able to take the kids. Imagine if they got placed with an abusive person just because of being related to their mum
The grandparents weren't the ones who committed the crime and shouldn't be punished for it either. We don't know the factors surrounding who gets to become permanent guardians. It only matters that the kids be well taken care of and not be used as pawns in a familial battle.

I doubt that you've surveyed every woman in the world in order to make such a generalization.
I agree,I would never have someone( a human )in my home, animals yes.
So true!!! When a teenage or young adult woman has no place to live, chances are she's worn out her welcome where she was living before. May be slimy, treacherous.
Very cold hearted. Never say never!
I 100 percent agree to this. Its my no. rule in the household to just not let just anybody live with.
If you don’t like your spouse just leave don’t kill them goodness gracious
Yvonne Pratt I always say this I don’t get why people go to these measures, just get a divorce
Agree, just walk away
This is sad af and disgusting on Jamie's behalf not being charged with anything and only second degree murderer? Horrible..
I didn't think of that, fuck, the horror she must have gone through
Horrible....plus she won't stick around for him thru prison and was the wife really voluntarily drinking Bones with ever clear or did someone mix that to blast her BAC without being so obvious??
Agreed. I’m 120 and 5’3 and would have to be held down to drown. Miss Le Anne died so brutally and all alone.😢
Why is it only women drown in tubs?
Women whose husbands are having affairs ...... it must be some sort of amazing genetic coincidence
Lindsey that’s sad 😔
Excellent point!
strange coincidence ...
I wondered that too. I think all accidental drownings of adults in tubs were actually murders. Several of my ex boyfriends claimed they were either too tall or too big to sit in a bathtub, so they would only take showers.
Ladies, don't move an other woman into your life with your kids and man. It's not worth it. Just don't
Right! How do people still fall for this? Even if she's family don't move her in or you'll be sorry🤷 Even if she's ugly, DON'T MOVE ANOTHER WOMAN INTO YOUR HOME!
How about, men stay loyal to your wives. They won’t be able to have an affair with someone’s husband if the husband did right by his family.
If you have to find a 60 year old German nanny 👌👌 She'll whoop his ass too lol.
@@dawnbreak3299 they sure the fuck are. Ive tried befriending women and I always get disappointed with them two faced bitches.
“ But what exactly happened next is still a mystery. Until it wasn’t.”
👁👄👁
You think giving their children to the parents who raised a murderer is a good idea, justice system? Just checking.
No parent give birth to a murderer, it's an individual decision to be a murder....not their parents.
That's what I was thinking.
@@rodahwambia8361 not always true.
You can't blame the parents for his choice to kill someone
Sometimes good parents have a kid who is a bad egg. My grandparents raised 3 upstanding, well adjusted kids who grew up to be successful.(not talking rich, more middle class) all of my aunts turned out ok but my dad wasn't the greatest guy. He had loving parents and every advantage they could give him. He still turned out to be a jerk
50's is still young! Can't believe he only got 13 years.
prominent local POLITICIAN...
@Hexl702 so true
🤔I'm surprised he even gotten that long of a time....😒
@Hexl702 we hope
@Hexl702 BUT, he comes from a well-to-do family. They will be able to help him. Maybe get him started in some kind of business or just working for a family member that has a business. That's a break most in his position wouldn't get.
RIP, Leeann. I know I would’ve liked you, I’m so sorry this happened to this beautiful lady. ❤
The poor children is all I can think off,
I hope the children find peace
Same😭💔 we need to pray for them and many like this. For this world
I would NEVER have a young woman as a live in nanny!!! My live in nanny will look like MRS.DOUBTFIRE!!😂😂😂
lmao
Lmao🤣🤣🤣🤣
Or Nanny McPhee
Lol that didn't stop Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Ion know , that would considerably be an experienced cougar 😂
Hello gorgeous greetings from Keanu Reeves where are you from ?❤🥰🥰🥰🥰😊👋👋👋👋
The victim's sister said, " I hope he's a bride in prison. " wow....
She said "take him as a bride " the wording was everything
“Not eligible for freedom until he’s well into his fifties”
Oh, you mean 30 years too early?
@Sandra Turajlich Right😒
@@jinb6242 "Well into his fifties" is not exactly one foot in the grave, you know.
I must have missed that part . Wouldn’t that be like 10 years for him ?
Ok I did rewinds it , yes 13 years is ridiculous
Sandra Turajlich
Agreed
Poor mother, to be treated like that is disgraceful
That young lady is cold hearted!!! Her initial interview alone made red flags shoot up. How sad for their children.
When the 911 operator ask if his wife is breathing, he says no with less feeling than when people say no when asked if they want a bag at the grocery store.
Oh my god - we don’t have the memory span of a goldfish - stop repeating it all every 5 minutes 🙄
😂😂😂😂
Y'all zoomers don't realize this used to be on cable with a bunch of long commercial breaks in between
Yeah exactly dumb ass kids 🤣
exactly. we remeber stuff. So stop repeating, crime shows!
besides, do not play the same scene twice! we can remeber stuff.
Lol... ya certainly not their best...🤷👀
However this is still my favorite true crime channel! 💯
I hope in the future if my husband has an affair , he doesn’t kill me 🤦🏾♀️
lmao. It is sad that we have to think that way but shit happens.
Scary😞
@Onion Face It is not that simple. They do not always reveal themselves early.
Be on the safe side and get out now, it's great being single, honestly.x
Hey Nae let's hope he doesn't cheat at all
GRRR It angers me when the kids get placed with the perpetrator's family instead of the victim's!!
do you know anything about the victim's parents? are they good people? oh, still alive? not alcoholic? broke? insane somehow? very ill? do they want the kids?
I don't know anything about them, so I don't get angry.
@@istvansipos9940 Very valid questions, thank you!
@@istvansipos9940 ummm so the people who raised a murderer is the better option?
@@niya989 it can be. see my previous comment. A lot of unknowns. And now a new one:
was the murderer's upbringing to blame for the murder? To what extent? And how could any1 prove that?
@@istvansipos9940 I mean the video even said they had a lot of money and are well known, so I’m sure they had good lawyers and honesty raising small children is a lot of work, I’m sure lee Ann’s parents still seem the grandchildren. Not having custody doesn’t mean they’re bad
I don't recall ever hearing about the "all American dream" involving a live in nanny!
You do not move another woman into your home PERIOD. Idc if she is 25 or 61.💯
If you do move another woman in. Make sure she is uglier and fatter than you. Men are visual beings.
@GiVer Are you a man? Stop claiming to know how they think
Keep them outside
@GiVer Lol in this society women claim they know men fully but deny that men know their brains at all. Lol women
Okay but can you move another man into your home?
The nanny shouldn't had walked free
AGREED. She must of had one hell of a public defender.
Same in the Chris watts case imo

How can his family have custody of their kids??? The parent who killed the other parent SHOULD NEVER have their family get custody the kids!!! It should be HER family getting custody !
Vicki Barlowe i agree
Vicki Barlowe - The kids should be placed to where ever they will get most love, care and stability. I know American justice usually gives the kids to the victims family, but I think they shouldnt be the consolation prize. And not every grandparents are just up for it themselves, they may have illnesses or other hinderances. It didnt come up why they were with Tims parents.
100% agree I never understood how this was even possible, but it happens a lot. It should be a law passed.
It seems like such a slap in the face of her family to leave her kids with his parents. Every time I see cases like these, coming from small towns, it almost always smell corruption. His farther is the only doc in town, and now everyone licks his but. Wtf?
Children whose parent has murdered the other should never be allowed contact within the murderers family, let alone custody.
