Gotta say that this Burgman is so underrated... Just bought it and I'm loving it despite its lack in all the hype of TFT displays and Bluetooth connections...it's just a simple, conventional scooter for simple riders who want an affordable vehicle without all the hype...
Scooters are generally derided by most motorbike riders but they are really good. Try doing a journey on a normal bike and then on a maxi scooter, the scooter wins hands down. Comfort, storage, wind and rain protection are all far better than the majority of bikes. Of course they won't impress your fellow bikers, but then who cares? If you can live with the lack of "street cred" (what's that worth?) then they're a great 2 wheel solution to your transport needs. They also don't get as dirty as a normal motorbike because of all the plastic. Great practical 2 wheeled transport.
I've been riding Motorcycles for years every thing from Honda 750 to big old Harley's Until last week...now it's the Suzuki Burgman 400 for me....it has plenty of power for both highway and city riding and the suspension is fantastic for a Scooter I'm very impressed with my Maxi Scooter . Great Job Suzuki 👏
Hello again Mark, this was the video that inspired me to buy the Suzuki Burgman 400, after owning 38 Bikes in my time on two wheels, this is a Cracking Machine ..On RUclips people ride these all over Europe, they are just as good as the 650 for Long distance touring..Both you and Toby are one of the very best for all Biking advice..Toby even does a Video for the Honda Forza 300..AND HE LOVED THAT SCOOTER TO BITS..Lol ..Safe riding to the both of you...
I have been riding motorscooters since 2013 as well as "real" motorbikes. I am amazed that this man rides for the first time on a scooter. They are just fantastic! I am not going back to the "real" motorbikes. I now have also a Burgman 400 and it is just great. Much lighter than his big brother 650 and easier to handle. The only thing is that you have less legroom on the 400 but the suspension is much better. Good review. And you should also try the T Max...
This is perfect to have for city commutes! 70 per gallon these days is a bonus for sure..and 400 is ALL you need! It is perfect for economics and easy to fix, keep going.
I just rode one 70 miles from the dealer to my home. I bought the missus one for her birthday and I think she will love it. I too after riding larger touring bikes was taken back with the ride and handling and wind 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙩𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 it affords. This is not your fathers scooter!!! Hehehehe it’s was a matte blue 2019 with 2500 miles on it. Picked it up for $6,199.00 dollars vs $8,400.00 for a fresh 2020. Save some bucks and used the money for riding gear and gas for trips this year. Scooter is in like new condition and received three year extension on the warranty for very little. They must know these scooters are very reliable. I think great value.
Just got mine new 0 miles 2019 2 weeks ago for 6922 dollars in usa got 1300 off MSRP that not includeing taxes and freight/prep fees total price after all cost is 8841.92
Hi Lads, hope you are both well. I remember meeting you both on the M5 services just before Bristol, on our way back from the bike show in Brum. Anyway, having watched the video twice I sold my CBF1000 and bought a 2021, Suzuki burgman 400 on the 5th of March. Absolutely love it, keeps me on the road at the age of 71.Thanks again for some great videos. Safe riding. John
The Suzuki Bergman 400 is far smoother and has a better seating position than the j300 I owned a burgman 400 and wish I had never sold it far superior than the j300 ,bought my Kawasaki j300 in 2018 brand new on line without testing it after watching reviews on line when the bike was delivered first impression beautiful then went for a ride and found the the seat ,seating position to be very wide comfortable but not enough room for legs very cramped driving position and I am only 5,7 ruined the experience to date I have only put 1700 miles on mine
Passed my test on a lambretta in '68. My favourite bike was a '64 Matchless G80 that was noisy and dirty but handled like a dream. My last 'bike' was a Honda CB400T that a growing family and not enough money persuaded me to get rid of. Now I'm retired and hadn't realised how much I missed riding, so after research decided to buy a Kawasaki j300. My wife, if she ever agrees to ride pillion, would never get her leg over a "real" bike and I got a good deal from 'm&p' here in Swansea. Good article, backing up some of the things I'm finding out for myself. Anxious to get it run in but a 30year gap is making me uncharacteristically nervous when cornering. Regards to any other Cousin Jack's in financial exile.
Ice review sir. I’ve just gone from a Harley to a new one of these. All round more comfortable and effortless to ride. So funny turn up at bike meets and everyone ignores you , it doesn’t matter though as the ride is just as enjoyable. I haven’t driven a manual car for twenty years , it’s the same thing , all your attention is on the ride not concentrating on gear changes. Living in London it’s a 20mph city these are perfect and have ridden twisty 2 hours from London , it’s great on the motorway , a little bumpy on country lanes but glad a made the change. Also after the money pit of the Harley 3 years warranty is a nice relief . Great review 2 wheels are 2 wheels , mainland Europeans love them .
I'm having one completely sold.as a biker of over 40 years and a newly retired older gentleman you realise you leave the absurd requirement of power, looks, and noise behind.practically, comfort, and affordability takeover....and they look like fun...in having one.sold.
I enjoyed this review from a "normal" biker. I've been riding Burgman's for about 15 years and had two 650's that were a dream for cruising/touring - France Belgium, Ireland, Scotland and Wales with never a problem. Actually, I tell a lie. The worst problem I faced was on the P&O Ferry to and from Dieppe. To park your bike you have to drop the front wheel into what looks like an upturned bicycle mudguard fixed to the ferry wall. to get to it, you have to ride (or get off and push) the bike up a little ramp where it drops into this mudguard. As with most modern bikes, you can't see the front wheel, so it's guesswork to get the wheel centred. If you miss, you're off, because your feet can't reach the ground. I had to enlist the help of some fellow bikers who also had the same problem. Beyond that, the Burgman has led the way in step-through bikes, and my feeling is that not BMW or Honda really compare for value. Illness last year forced me to get rid of my last 650 - they are a very heavy bike, and I'm only a slight little fella! In its place I bought the bike you've just reviewed - well, not "that" bike, but a brand new 400. At first it was like jumping onto a moped after being spoilt by the 650, but now that I'm used to it, it is a crackin' little bike, and next week I'll be off touring the North of Ireland. Pack my usual gear under the seat, and a backpack on the pillion seat, and I'll have all I need for a week. My bike is currently giving me (on a straight run) 94mpg - a full tank (13lts) giving 140 miles on average. Following its first service (600 mls) I've had it up to 95mph with room for more! I didn't like it initially, but now I find it's absolutely great - not up to the 650 standard, but still a great little bike. My picture in the corner is me on my first 400 Burger - a very different style and weight from the new one. Now that I'm 75, I don't to a ton, although I do enjoy the occasional need for speed - very carefully though!
amazing stuff matey, sounds like you have done some considerable mile on your machine, and it is awesome. wasnt expecting to enjoy it so much to be honest
Thanks Comborico. I've just got back from my NI trip and am hoping to piece a few vid-clips from new helmet-cam and 35mm camera. Gorgeous weather and some cracking scenery. Have a look for my channel to within the next few days!
Cheers RidercamTV. Yes, the "step-through's" are sadly berated, but they have so much to offer that the standard motorcycle doesn't!As you say, they don't suite everyone, but they are indeed a real comfort and joy to ride, and perform well in all weathers. I'm chuffed with your review, and now I've just completed my NI trip on the Burg 400: review and clips coming up soon on my channel.
Hey RiderCTV, Thank you for the heart! Now then, I've just taken my new 400 from Carmarthen to Belfast and back, and made my very first cam video, uploaded today. No narrative as I'm not yet familiar with the techy stuff, but everything else is there - vid clips, stills, texts, map locations and music (my own). I'd be awfully chuffed if you had a look (only 15 minutes) and made any comment you like. The little bike performed well, and much to my annoyance (!!) I got to like it! It's not a 650, but held to 55-60 with no thought at all, and in the process gave me 99.9mpg! Whahey. I'm beginning to enjoy my 70's. The URL is /-5_M2vtvL0c or "New Burgman 400, Carmarthen - Belfast - return."
Great review on a Great popular Scooter/Motorbike..These things go all over Europe whether single rider or Two up with Luggage..BULLET PROOF ENGINE THATS PROVED ITS LONGEVITY FOR OVER 20 YEARS.... NOW LOOKS MORE SPORTY. ...I LOVE MY 2020 WHITE WITH BLUE WHEELS VERSION...
Nice Review of the Burgman 400. I had one for a couple months and sold it to a friend and bought a Burgman 650. I Really like the 650 with its extra horsepower. I like scooters because I have had both knees replaced and it is easier to step through vs throwing a leg over. I live in the desert of SW USA and near the mountains so riding is good. Another plus for scooters in hot weather, you don’t get heat from the engine between your legs when stopped at a stoplight on hot days. The only thing Suzuki needs to add is a electronic cruise control. Both the 400 and 650 easily cruises all legal speed limits. Safe riding...
Thanks for the kind words matey. It’s a great scooter and I bet it’s just right for the roads your riding too. Over here it’s great for staying dry when on the road. Ride safe :)
For a point of reference I own a Burgman 650 AN Executive and I also own a Kawasaki Voyager 1700. Both are great machines and I do not suffer from penis panic as mentioned by another commenter. I have the Burgman because I want to do some long distance riding and touring as well as zip around the city. I have the Kawasaki because it is a great bike of the open road riding at 110km/h (the national limit in Australia where I live) with the 6 speed gear box the last gear being an over drive for the highway. Setting the cruise control and there is nothing better. The Burgman will do all of that but is more at home going down to the shops. Fold in mirrors on the run are great for parking and lane splitting. The 650 has a bit more grunt than I would expect from the 400 which is great for the open road and also for taking off from the lights. There is plenty of room for two both on the seat and on the footboards. The 650 has ABS brakes with two discs on the front and a single on the rear. Using both levers brings the machine to a quick stop - being a CVT there is no clutch. There is also a parking brake for when the bike is on the side stand. I say just ride what you like and go where you like and forget about the naysayers.
I'd choose this over any variant of electric bike. This is probably most bikers future. Much like the Vespas/Monkey bikes etc it'll be a future favourite/classic imo
I'm from Brazil, and I own a SYM Maxsym 400i, is pretty similar to the Burgman, but I bought the Maxsym because of he better stability with the 15 inch wheel on the front, standard abs (the Bergman doesn't have it even as optional around here), more power, with 33 hp, and the best of all, all of this costing around the equivalent a 2 thousand pounds less. I rode about 20.000km in 6 months and is all joy. Cheers.
good review , i've had my burgman 6 months now, an still love it. i bought mine for fun , as it can go any distance - in comfort, legs out comfy seat unlike the honda NC750 i had before that was rock hard . an i'm getting 84mpg from mine, on a tour of north wales even managed 91mpg cruising round the mountains.
@@GlenAdamson101 My hubby just bought the 2021 version NC750X DCT and really enjoys the auto transmission. Not as good a ride as the Honda Shadow Aero he has but still a great new bike to ride.
The people that slag 'maxi scooters' off, have either never ridden one or are just small mindedly biased against them. I've had nearly 30 bikes over a lifetime of biking (including 2 Burgman 400's, 2 Burgman 650's) and these scoots are practical, convenient, maintenance free, and FUN!
Always road Gold wings. Took a five year break went back to motorcycling. Just couldn’t justify the money for new Goldwing. So I turned two Honda 2012 silver wing I would match do any bike. Oh my Riding was long distance, had it for 23 months someone broadsided me. But 40,000 miles on it, only cost fuel / tires/ oils / Air filter. Also made one wheel trailer that I pull a lot. Now I’m looking at Bergman 400 like to go Sturgis this year again. But may save money For another boat definitely right after hurricane season
One can buy taller windscreens, rear luggage carrier, ABS, put cruise control on, heated hand grips etc etc. Love the Bergman 400 Alot of people young and old now love these for a good reason and wont necessarily go back to motorcycles. Some enjoy the best of both worlds. Alot of motorcyclists are pleasantly surprised when the actually ride one and let go of their prejudice.
I owned a 2006 Type S 400, and now have a 2005 650. I loved both. My wife is buying this exact bike (on a deal, because it's new-old-stock), and I know she will love it every bit as much. And, yes, you got it right - step thru. I have a gimpy leg, and wear a brace - a regular bike with pegs or even boards doesn't leave much movement ability. These give you extended floorboards that allow for a variety of ways to move your legs. Definitely would recommend. (No, it's not a crotch-rocket, but it zips along just fine, thanks!)
Brilliant review Mark and Toby, fun as well...Todays society in England is a weird one the preception of Scooters is way way wayyyyyyy behind the times of Modern Europe, i can tell you Honestly the Ignorance towards these Brilliant, fun and Practical Machines is beyond belief,,,Guys that laugh at these in the UK go out to Spain and Greece and they cannot wait to hire one out and enjoy, WHY ?? because i was one of those Ignorant Guys and my conversion has led to 4 of these Big Scoots after owning over 30 sport bikes from Bandits to Honda Blackbirds 1200 BMWS and 1500cc Monster Cruisers...NOW i just ride and enjoy Maxis Scooters i have an order for one of these in White a 2020 plate i have a Kawasaki j300 as well....I must say Mark this video you done was an inspiration leading to buying one....Thankyou and WELL DONE !!!!!!
good video as for a top case, I am looking at the V56 liter Monokey case. That is bigger than any top box I have ever had on a bike, they even have a video of installing it, on the Burgman 400.
Had one of these in 2011 for commuting into London..It was a phase i went through. They dont seem to have made many changes to the bike, still has lots of space and good protection from the weather.
Nice review. Had a Honda 300 Forza for 2 years as a second bike. I love it, smooth, quiet, handles and stops well. Comfortable and does 80+ MPG. Good acceleration and will cruise at 70MPH. Good wind protection with the larger screen fitted and a lot of under seat storage space. Great instrumentation and build quality. No oily chain oh and did I say I like it. Cheers👍
I loved that mans review of the 400cc motor scooter.I bought a 650cc.I had it converted to a Voyager trike last month. Its a 2003 Suzuki Burgman AN650cc trike. I had a Yamaha trike my first bike.I had trouble getting on it.So I sold it.Bought the Burgman.Im enjoying riding.
These have filled the niche of the once-popular middleweight sector occupied by CX500s. Around 61 mpg is realistic in real life, they cruise at 80 and beat absolutely any bike for storage and two-up comfort.
no better bike for winter commute.. and they are superb for the missus on back the seats massive.. and they keep older riders going when normal bikes get a bit much... leave the ego at home and these are a fun machine
You don’t know where there gonna put all the kit? Lift the seat on one, you could fit a small child in there. Then add top box and panniers. More luggage space than a Goldwing.
Although I would not bother with a 400cc scooter - if I want a big scooter, I want a 'big' scooter - the styling on the 2018 400cc version is nicer than the 650cc version, which has not has a body update in a while. If only Suzuki had also updated the body on the 650, which is a bike I may buy soon (currently on a 2013 V-Strom 650 ABS, which is a superb bike). ...Edit... I guess I should always wait to the end to comment. You seem to have some sound issues with this. You could easily swap the screen for an aftermarket one; they are only about 50 quid for a fairly good long one. The bit of the bike at about 18:00 is the CVT transmission unit (rather than an automatic gearbox), which uses two pulleys and and one belt. The width of the pulleys change to keep you in optimum RPM range. A lot of bike riders reviewing scooters on RUclips are unaware of the system - naturally - and often comment that it feels as though acceleration feels like a slipping clutch. Anyway, welcome to the realm of those who enjoy both bikes and scooters. By the way - small scooters are better than they were. My 2015 Honda PCX150 is a great tool for getting across town and enough for any road here in Japan. Thanks for the vids.
Good review I used to have the 650 burgman it was getting too heavy for me cuz my back started hurting so I sold it and bought a 400 Bergman 2022 it's easy to drive and easy to push back now I get 70 mi to a gallon it's the same one that you're showing me keep the good work up this is scooter Steve from RUclips I also have pictures of my scooter on my RUclips channel on my brand new 2022 burgman 400 I love my Bergman I have a stereo system on it with four speakers and a security alarm on it I also took the old windshield off it came with the bike because it was too short and bought a GB windshield anybody buys the Bergman change your windshield cuz the one that comes with it is too short not only that when I put the new windshield on it now I can hear my music coming out of my speakers a lot better wind noise are no buffering it's better with a brand new higher windshield it is wider have a safe drive😅😅🎉
I agree with the comments below. The UK in particular has a strange and childish attitude problem about decent scooters, indicative of the poor self-image and weak ego of many bikers whose fragile sense of masculinity sees every extra cc and every thrusting, sharp line of their 100 hp steeds as a penis extension. Unlike other Europeans, whose less dim-witted and more mature view sees this kind of transport as not just practical, but fun, satisfying and comfortable. Anti scooter-ism and tribalism is endemic in Britain and is reinforced by the motorcycle press and the ad material of bike manufacturers too. I wish they would grow up. Any transport that gives you pleasure is worthy of respect from others. It's a great scooter.
good fair review. I have been riding for over 50 years and had all sorts but this will be my 3 rd maxi scooter. They are so practical. great anytime but better still when you get old and creaky?
I ride a Blackbird and a scooter.. Scooter is always first choice for the 40mile commute.. not many big bikes can keep with me in city traffic and I get 126mpg outta my Forza... Just about to upgrade to the 2019 model.. fab machine..
Guys, that was a great review. I bought a new Honda NC750X last year and I’ve covered nearly 3,000 miles on it; in that time, the bike has averaged 93mpg. If you get the opportunity, try one; I promise you that you’ll love it.
I came from Asia. In Asia metropolitan, scooters are much practicable than bikes. People just have to compromised to reality. If you have chance check Suzuki Burgman AN 250 (very old model already), you will be surprised by it's comfy seat and large storage capacity. Hope you can follow Burgman AN 650, it's another level than this 400 one.
Lol, I'm impressed your impressed . As a form of transport, what's the problem . I've rode bikes all my life and with a few accidents many years ago (none of which was my fault , may I add ) my knees are not what they were . My lad, will not be happy if I get one of these, but they do a 650cc version , or so I'm told. This may be the answer to my problem of holding up my very heavy BMW . Thanks for the insight guys. A follow up, with the folks, who went on tour with you would be nice, just to hear their opinion of it .
Would love to see you do a review on a Tmax, its been king of the scooters since 2001, in 20 years riding and 20 bikes owned, my old mk3 tmax was my most fun, i currently have a 300 forza which is nice but the tmax actually handles like a supermoto on the twisties, trounced many sportsbikes with 5x more power on the right roads, its no wonder its the scoot of choice for scooter thieves and bank robbers in London its just a fab weapon.
Good review! Thank you. FYI I have a DCT auto Honda and like a car you do get the gear changes. You also have paddles and can control the gears. Very relaxing. I enjoy your vids, keep em coming. Ride safe.
hey thanks this was a great review . I've been driving a Silverwing 600 for about 10 years now and i'm looking to get a new ride . i hadn't really thought of getting a smaller one but the light weight factor would be a plus , the SW600 is fine but its got a soggy suspension and is pretty heavy . i use it for committing , in town riding , and the odd weekend trip around Vancouver Island where i live , so this could be a realistic option for me . still try to get some more reviews on the two new BMWs the c400x and c400gt before i bust a move , but finding a review on them in English and one as solid as your review on the Burgman is impossible . i liked that you showed yourself on the scooter and stated how tail you are for perspective on how big the scooter is .
Hey Gordon, thank you so much for the kind words. it is an epic machine indeed and was good to hear that you enjoyed the video. We are trying to get rides on theBMW versions, watch this space, although it is difficult to get hold of them where we are........ but we are trying :)
I used to have the Honda silverwing and I used to have the burgman 650 but they were too heavy for me as I got older now I am 69 years old now so I bought the 400 burgman it's a lighter bike it only weighs 300 in 35 lbs the burgman 400 not only that I get better gas mileage I get about 65 to 75 mph so now my back does not hurt anymore take care and be safe this is scooter Steve from RUclips I show the 400 on my RUclips channel if you like to see it take care and be safe😅😅🎉
Great video bud - was on the fence about this one as I have had 3, yes 3 (or is it 4?) Burgy 650s and love ‘em but thinking about changing to 400 as it’s lighter!
Borrowed the BMW C650 scooter as a loan bike once during my GSA service - loved it. It would be interesting to compare the Suzuki against the Honda X-ADV. Great vid!
I recently borrowed one of these when my bike was being serviced. I found it quite good; good acceleration & road holding. I found the suspension a little harsh over rough roads though... Very good for commuting though I would think?
i love motorbikes but currently saving for one of these for everyday use and keep my big bike for best.. doesn't bother me riding a scooter between this burgman and the yamaha xmax 300 and the honda forza 300
Thinking about buying one of these. Bought myself a new ktm duke 790 last week for summer fun and on the better days but on your average day to get to work and back comfortably I want one of these in my garage too. Have located one and will be test riding it this Wednesday. My only worry is overtaking at motorway speeds so I'll see how she goes.
I believe alot of People especially here in th U.S. misunderstand Scooters in general, & its purpose in the MC Market. Id say for Starters a MS i a Very Different beast than your average MC . Just because they both have Two Wheels i believe most of us Subconsciously Compare them to each other . Its like Criticizing a Nissan Maxima for not having the Proformance of a Nissan GTR. They aren't the same, they both have different purposes.
I am looking at getting a Burgman 200. Hard to find reviews for these in general especially the 200 which seems to be the ugliest of the ugly ducklings. Everyone that rides them seems to love them though. Would be curious to know if anyone has any experience what the differences between the 200 and 400 is beyond more engine. Is there any beyond very minor things like the 200 having more storage space? If that is the case that makes researching what bike to get a lot easier for me.
Thanks for the intuative video and I liked the humour. I had to sell my classic FZR600R due to back problems. I quite fancy a scooter for my daily 45mile commute (90 miles per day). Mainly on motorways and queing traffic. Im torn between the Honda Forza 300 and the Burgy 400. Im going to look at them both next week. My big worry on the Burgy was people say its a lot more bulky and heavy. Weight wise its 30 kilos (67 pounds) heavier than my old sports bike so it will be harder to push and move into the garage and maybe not as nimble around stationary traffic. Does anyone have any thoughts/comments on this? Safe riding all.
thanks for the kind words buddy.the Forza would be lighter as you mentioned although in riding and maneuvering, the Burgman didnt seem as heavy as it is and was quite easy to move around... Hope this helps . ride safe :)
Nice review. I own a one, and agree it is a fantastic scooter. Well balanced, comfortable riding position, great economy = all around pleasant. Suzuki wants break-in of the motor to be for the first 500 miles (804 kilometers) at under 4,000 RPM ... which you obviously didn't follow ... but that is unrealistic. Yes, 2 full-faced helmets will fit under the seat. The windscreen protects your body well, but you'll get wind around your head/helmet ... but I like that you don't look through the windscreen, so I wouldn't update to a taller screen.
Tires wear out faster than on bigger wheels as they travel further for the same distance ! Other than that nothing really you can still hoon them around in the corners and it is easier to change direction quick as less gyroscopic effect but a little less stability although the weight is so low down on a scooter you really don't notice plus they are easy to move about in the garage or drive way
they are both fab bikes mate, they will both do you proud, but the honda does have that wow look to it, although that is reflected in the price.... tough decision but ride safe buddy
Given the price of these the fact it doesn't have an electric adjustable screen is a bit poor and traction control, bother are available on the honda forza 350
I just bought the 400,022 model Bergman I am 6 ft 3 I have long legs it is very comfortable you can also put your foot up or down because it's got two positions it is very comfortable this is a good review keep the good work up this is scooter Steve❤❤😅
I've owned 2 scooters a Honda pcx 150 and now a Suzuki Burgman 400. The Suzuki Burgman is by far the best & most Comfortable Bike I've ever been on
Gotta say that this Burgman is so underrated...
Once I modded my Burgman 400 with Malossi aftermarket parts, I was getting close to 120mph.. Street cred went through the roof...lol
I've been riding Motorcycles for years every thing from Honda 750 to big old Harley's
Until last week...now it's the Suzuki Burgman 400 for me....it has plenty of power for both highway and city riding and the suspension is fantastic for a Scooter I'm very impressed with my Maxi Scooter .
I bought a burgman 200 and love it. Could never replace my motorbike but it’s great for going to work and to the shops
And you should also try the T Max...
these scooters are motorbikes and they are fantastic!
My 2020 and newer Versions have LED lights. I absolutely Love my little Suzuki Burgman 400 Scooter...because Scooters are Cool
This is perfect to have for city commutes! 70 per gallon these days is a bonus for sure..and 400 is ALL you need! It is perfect for economics and easy to fix, keep going.
Beautiful country roads although the weather looks dreadful. My Burgman 200 is the most fun of any motorcycle I have owned.
John
Great choice buddy. Ride safe
Just bought a kawasaki j300 i bloody love it....i also own a honda cb1300...but if I'm honest i prefer to ride the scooter
Breath bike but I know what you mean about the scooter. It’s fab
I have the 650 and love it!
4:20 Ride what you like and fits your needs.
Did you ever get a Suzuki Burgman 400 ?
I Love 💘 mine
A joy to hear your story. Thanks for that.
I've also purchased the 2020 Burgman 400
Black with blue wheels 💙
These modern 400 are heavier though, they weight as much as the old 650, and the modern 650 even more than the old !
yes on the cruise control!
I say just ride what you like and go where you like and forget about the naysayers.
totally agree, ride what you like and go where you like! amazing bike indeed!
Great stuff Andrew. Thanks for the kind words. Ride safe
andy scooter Still like the Burgman ?
Just got a burgman, any advice
I have an older Burgman 400 and I like being shiftless. Don’t know if I’ll ever go back to motorcycles.
The Honda nc750x dct version is a good mix if you want an affordable auto motorcycle
@@GlenAdamson101 My hubby just bought the 2021 version NC750X DCT and really enjoys the auto transmission. Not as good a ride as the Honda Shadow Aero he has but still a great new bike to ride.
I would like to have one for two up touring and sport riding as a compliment to my 150 scooter which is for errands and local hopping.
100% agree buddy. They are awesome bikes and severly under rated by most.. just as much fun to ride and will keep up with the best. Ride safe :)
Just got one , I have had loads of bikes, but the scooter is great, plan to go touring on it.
I've had one in Texas since 2005. Not much has changed on it except for the addition of the parking brake. It's easy and perfect for women.
One can buy taller windscreens, rear luggage carrier, ABS, put cruise control on, heated hand grips etc etc. Love the Bergman 400
Alot of people young and old now love these for a good reason and wont necessarily go back to motorcycles.
(No, it's not a crotch-rocket, but it zips along just fine, thanks!)
we've had these away with us on tours and they have overtaken other bikes on hill passes and are such great machines :)
Yeah a nice bike indeed, after getting used to it it’s fun as well
Nice review. Cheers👍
Thanks for the kind words matey, yeah it’s a great little machine. And yeah it came across that you liked it ;)
Ride safe buddy
Hello..I am doubting between this one, the forza 300 of 2018 or 2020, or the xmax. My priority is comfort and relaxed cruising. And maneuverability.
This was a very, very good review!!! I absolutely love maxiscooters.
Hey Michael, thanks for the kind words. Its an awesome bike. Enjoy the Burgman and ride safe :)
I had a Burgman 650 and it was a great tourer. And great for around town aswell. That was back in 2006! It could do with a facelift now .
Thanks for the vids.
thanks for the comments matey, especially about the CVT transmission.. :)
No mention made of the pockets in the fairing, one of which has a 12v socket to charge a phone etc.
Same prejudices over here in the 'States.... RiderCam TV: You should try the 650 version. Best, Pete.
good fair review. I have been riding for over 50 years and had all sorts but this will be my 3 rd maxi scooter. They are so practical. great anytime but better still when you get old and creaky?
thanks for the kind words Steve... loved this one :)
What Scooters have you owned and how much did you like each one ?
I ride a Blackbird and a scooter.. Scooter is always first choice for the 40mile commute.. not many big bikes can keep with me in city traffic and I get 126mpg outta my Forza... Just about to upgrade to the 2019 model.. fab machine..
fab machine indeed and a great choice matey. ride safe
Been riding a Burgman for a while myself, feet forward is the way to go.
such a comfy position to ride in and the bike is awesome :)
I wish more people in America would ride Scooters and not try to be a boy racer or tough guy. Because Scooters are Cool
Wow this looks like a dream to ride for commuting around town. Thanks for the review!!
No probs. Thanks for the kind words. It’s ana awesome machine :)
Ride safe buddy
A fair chat, I must say. Good show. Thanks from Texas!
Hey buddy, thanks for the kind words, ride safe on those roads out there :)
Guys, that was a great review.
I bought a new Honda NC750X last year and I’ve covered nearly 3,000 miles on it; in that time, the bike has averaged 93mpg.
If you get the opportunity, try one; I promise you that you’ll love it.
Thanks for the kind words. It was a great bike and the XADV will be coming soon ;)
93mpg!!!!!! Are you actually riding it or pushing it?
Hahah. It’s extremely good on fuel! If we could get that out of a GSA it would be perfect 😂
Darren Elbrow : ha ha 😂 I do wonder sometimes.
Totally agree
I came from Asia. In Asia metropolitan, scooters are much practicable than bikes. People just have to compromised to reality.
If you have chance check Suzuki Burgman AN 250 (very old model already), you will be surprised by it's comfy seat and large storage capacity.
Hope you can follow Burgman AN 650, it's another level than this 400 one.
Safe riding Max :)
Thanks for the kind words matey. Will see what we can do :)
I love that you keep referring to "this bike" without differentiating ; two wheels is two wheels ,great .
100%. Doesn’t matter what bike you have it’s a bike and that’s all good. Bike for everyone and this one was surprisingly fab
Would love to see you do a review on a Tmax, its been king of the scooters since 2001, in 20 years riding and 20 bikes owned, my old mk3 tmax was my most fun, i currently have a 300 forza which is nice but the tmax actually handles like a supermoto on the twisties, trounced many sportsbikes with 5x more power on the right roads, its no wonder its the scoot of choice for scooter thieves and bank robbers in London its just a fab weapon.
will see what we can do :)
Good review! Thank you. FYI I have a DCT auto Honda and like a car you do get the gear changes. You also have paddles and can control the gears. Very relaxing. I enjoy your vids, keep em coming. Ride safe.
Thanks for the kind words and the info about the dct. It was a relaxing ride and surprisingly nimble :)
Now the burgman 650 would be a great review? Good review again
Thanks for the kind words. The 650 would be a good review too. Watch this space ;)
20:05 a very British laugh 😂😂
Fascinating stuff, I fancy a go on a scooter.
Do it Dervman. It’s great fun!
RiderCamTV I’d be tempted by the X-ADV but not at £10k!
It is a premium price but I’d say it’s a premium machine too. Lookout for the review in a couple of weeks. ;)
RiderCamTV 50bhp on a bike that weighs the same as a GS 🤔 Looking forward to the video though.
I know what you mean. And it didn’t disappoint either :)
hey thanks this was a great review .
Hey mate, thanks for the kind words. It’s a fab bike indeed. :)
Ride safe
Borrowed the BMW C650 scooter as a loan bike once during my GSA service - loved it. It would be interesting to compare the Suzuki against the Honda X-ADV. Great vid!
I recently borrowed one of these when my bike was being serviced. I found it quite good; good acceleration & road holding. I found the suspension a little harsh over rough roads though... Very good for commuting though I would think?
definately a good commuter but also a good allrounder perhaps. Suspension was a little harsh, but a great bike all the same :)
Ride Safe
@@RiderCamTV Have you riddeen the BMW C400X/GT?
i love motorbikes but currently saving for one of these for everyday use and keep my big bike for best.. doesn't bother me riding a scooter between this burgman and the yamaha xmax 300 and the honda forza 300
Get the Suzuki Burgman 400. MATE
which did you go for?
I like your safety vest where did you buy it can you put a link ? Thanks Michal
They are Helite Turtle Back. They are available for sale by franchise worldwide but are made in France.
The cockney villain's weapon of choice!
It’s a surprising little machine indeed
Very interesting, thanks Mark😃
Thanks Andrew. Glad you enjoyed it
Good that 👍🏻 I’d be interested to see what you think of the 650cc version?
If we get chance we will do that one too ;)
Getting mine soon
Great stuff. Ride safe :)
Thinking about buying one of these. Bought myself a new ktm duke 790 last week for summer fun and on the better days but on your average day to get to work and back comfortably I want one of these in my garage too. Have located one and will be test riding it this Wednesday. My only worry is overtaking at motorway speeds so I'll see how she goes.
excellent choice and at motorway speeds, you will have no issues. This bike has got the power and more... incredible machine indeed
maxi scootes is good for people who seek comfort while riding
Hello, thanks for the great videos. How would you compare the Honda 300 scooter to the burgman 400? Which one has more power etc? Thanks!
You would have to take them out and see for yourself. Either way they are awesome!
Would like to see a Hells Angels meeting with them all on scooters..
HI, good video, at what rev range should the CVT start to kick in? tnx
Hi, what is the difference between Skywave Burgman 650 and LX 650
Specifications I think. Ride safe
I liked your reflective vest, where could I find one, Sir?
The reflective mesh vests we wear are made by a company called urban glow and the safety vests are made by helite and called airvests.
I would suggest a test ride. Having now ridden one I can say they are not for me. Capable machine but does not suit me
great review, just put a deposit for one lets see how i get on
I am looking at getting a Burgman 200.
Thanks for not acting like every other insecure man out there who's test riding one of these acting like they're too macho.
Thanks buddy. It’s a fab bike and was a real surprise too :)
Really enjoyed riding this one
It's not a shaft it's belt drive.
Great stuff matey, thanks for the info. A great bike indeed :)
What's the disadvantages of having small wheels?
Tires wear out faster than on bigger wheels as they travel further for the same distance ! Other than that nothing really you can still hoon them around in the corners and it is easier to change direction quick as less gyroscopic effect but a little less stability although the weight is so low down on a scooter you really don't notice plus they are easy to move about in the garage or drive way
Great video.
Ok, got the scooter, seems like a fun machine, but what are you riding there Toby?
All will be revealed next week. Stay tuned ;)
really nice video , thx alot
no probs, glad you enjoyed it... ride safe :)
Having a difficult time deciding between something like this or a honda ctx dct. Any thoughts?
they are both fab bikes mate, they will both do you proud, but the honda does have that wow look to it, although that is reflected in the price.... tough decision but ride safe buddy
DCT is a automatic motorcycle with manual choice transmissions but does not have foot shift lever
don't think you will get the nod from other riders???
That’s the only downside 🙄
Their loss perhaps...
Whats it like for filtering?
Excellent
Since Honda doesn't make anything like this currently (they need to bring back the Silverwing), I am giving this some serious consideration.
Given the price of these the fact it doesn't have an electric adjustable screen is a bit poor and traction control, bother are available on the honda forza 350
is this thing big enough for a 6'4'' guy?
I just bought the 400,022 model Bergman I am 6 ft 3 I have long legs it is very comfortable you can also put your foot up or down because it's got two positions it is very comfortable this is a good review keep the good work up this is scooter Steve❤❤😅
Is it better than a smax 400?
Try the AN650
Some riders chose to ride scooters because of disabilities that keep them from riding motorcycles.
and i bet they have fun too.. amazing machines
And some of us don't give a shit what other people think.
@@jeeves6490 Thats what it boils down to.
