A man was arrested a few yrs ago for this as well. The women was in her mid twenties i believe and he got her pregnant while she was in a coma. Its disgusting.
It happened in Arizona too. Maybe that's the same case 🤮
@@jenivettebigham7060 it could be, i dont remember where he was just that i was so disgusted. Unfortunately i dont think its just one incident.

I like how the doctor addressed her in the beginning even though she knew she was in a vegetative state. This is respect.
I do this as well,I am a nurse. A guy actually woke up once and listened everyday for my voice and he said it's her , it's her. That's the one who treated me like a person.
First thing I noticed too. I work in dementia care and no matter what stage they are in I always address them with their preferences, mr. Mrs. Dr., reverend. I also tell them what I’m doing, and although they probably don’t known what I’m actually saying, they understand I’m making them a part of it, which brings them comfort and makes doing care much less traumatic for both of us.

This happens to so many patients in this situation you wouldn't believe it I watched a documentary about how people in comas and disabled are sexually abused. There need to be stronger laws.
What’s the name of the documentary?
Stronger laws won’t help until they’re properly enforced.
The laws are strong its the policing of them that is weak
What do you mean? It's against the law alright.
I believe it. Disabled people are so vulnerable.
I was in a 9 day coma (because of a violent SA actually)
There was a brief period of time I panicked about being reviolated while I was out.... then I remembered my mom literally only left the hospital room to shower, and when she did one of my aunts would sit with me. So thankful for them 🖤🖤🖤
@birdfig thank you 🖤 it was in 2011 so I've long since healed. PTSD and some permanent lung damage, but I had a 10% chance of living so I'm just glad to still be here. Besides the amazing doctors and nurses, I definitely credit me making it through to my family's support and love.

Seriously. There is a documentary about this. It happens TOO often. A lot of patients who are in comas get sexually harrassed & gRaped and they end up pregnant because they are unable to do anything. It's disgusting.
Is that a movie!? And if it is , what's the name.
Yeah good luck being able to find millions of dollars to pay those people
There should be a strict law for these, and patients like those should be protected... the real story of sleeping beauty was something like this too...
Already a strict law against this sort of thing. It's just not well enforced.
@@NortelGeek Sadly it’s one of those laws that can’t be enforced until it happens. Then you’re left to pick up the pieces .. I couldn’t imagine being assaulted and being stuck in my body unable to explain the feelings of what happened
The original sleeping beauty was actually that she did sleep for 100 years. Some guy found put about what had become a legend and decided the next day to attempt to find her, the roses parted for him to get into the castle but it wasn't because he was the chosen one, he had actually just gone on the final day of the 100 years, she woke up as he entered lol.
Also as the roses around the castle receded, the bodies of people who died trying to get in dropped to the floor.
@@greason lol this is such a fantastic story, but I hope nobody believes sleeping beauty as a real woman, could’ve slept for 100 years.
New laws have actually gotten SO MUCH WORSE!!! There are laws that are disguised as giving mentally handicapped individuals more freedom. But in reality they make it so much harder to protect the individuals from dangerous people and situations!!
To make it worse, when they learned that even though she couldn't move or speak, she was aware of it and could feel it.

I think patients in comas deserve to be under camera surveillance in hospitals for their own safety. A patient in a coma can not report malpractice. And this specific crime is far too common. We live in a society that leaves its weak unprotected.
Not only for their safety but also cause they might respond to something and the doctors don't see or I don't know
💯
Yes, we do live in a society that leaves its weak unprotected and kiss-ass those that have power. So where does this leave us?💔
Totally agree!!
This omg,so plain ,an they still wouldn’t accept this knowledge
The horrible thing is, you hear about people waking up from comas and they're aware of what was going on around them. So the people who have been SA while in a coma knew what was happening to them and couldn't even try to fight back. It's terrifying
It's like sleep paralysis but longer💔
I believe in this episode the woman did end up having locked in syndrome, so she was fully aware of what was happening to her :(
Not all coma patients experience the same things. Some can hear, feel, even smell things but not all of them can. It's like they're stuck in limbo and their body is healing over a very slow period of time.
So, they know who did that to her?
@@V3DUsTea I'm not sure but I think I was the dad of the girl cause how he was acting like really dismissive about it I haven't seen the show or anything though so that's just a guess
I would say there should be a security camera in the room and always on for these comatose patients. And if they find that it was turned off for an amount of time, the hospital should be heavily penalized so as to keep them on their toes regarding their patients safety.
I agree. Also if people say oh can’t have a security camera because of privacy issues. There’s ways you can position a camera where someone’s it’s and bits won’t be shown.
They should have a special room that requires you to register in so any and all visits are accounted for nobody can sneak in without it being catalogued then that removes the privacy Argument
This is a really great idea. This could actually be a feasible attempt towards a solution in real world application.

Bro on god
Even for one night in hospital is expensive. Why do you think they don't do that?
@@gerrylaksono1222 I'm pretty sure in a standard hospital there are cameras everywhere. But in nursing homes, care facilities, or at home most of these vulnerable people are abused when they aren't being recorded. And even then.
I was about to say that.
That's not possible due to HIPPA unfortunately. Only in extreme cases such as a psych ward aaaaaand that's only in a specific part of the hospital (normally er)
My mom used to be in the medical profession and she told me this is more common than people think. She told me about a girl who was in a coma for Two years. The people saying "no she couldn't" obviously never saw this episode of Chicago Med. She had locked in syndrome.
Not all comas work that way, but you are right, some patients can hear and feel everything around them even in that state.
@Yusra Fatma a patient in coma might be able to hear and feel everything around them (a big percentage), it doesn't even have to be an induced coma
This happened to my cousin while she was in a "care" facility. She didn't get pregnant, thankfully, but she had trauma from SA and, being non-verbal, couldn't communicate what had happened or who had done it. I was a child at the time all of this occurred. I don't think they ever followed it up, though the facility was closed years later for violations. Total horror show. The way people with disabilities are treated is terrifying.

There was a story about one hospital putting all coma patients in the same room, with little security.
Then 10 of the women were pregnant, so they checked the security footage and found out a janitor had been breaking in at night.
The hospital decided to terminate all the pregnancies and not tell the patients.
The janitor got life imprisonment and the hospital was sued for negligence.
That's good but idk how I feel of them for NOT telling the patients about it.
Crazy all the way around
What's the point in having security cameras if they don't even look at the footages ? Like why wait until something happens to look at the footages while he has already done it multiple times?
Thats fcked up that they would terminate the pregnancies without talking to the patients families. What if the patient had religious beliefs against abortion?

I knew a woman when I was younger who lived in our neighborhood whose 17 year olddaughter who was in a vegetative state after an illness destroyed her brain, she was abused by a caregiver in her home while her mother was at work.
The pregnancy wasn’t found till she was quite far along, more than halfway, she didn’t really show or have a big belly… the drs wanted to terminate because babies of coma patients don’t do well, babies actually need the sounds of a mother talking and life outside the body to correctly develop neurologically… baby ended up being born by csection a little early and she didn’t have any problems she was just tiny. This woman got to care for her daughter and her granddaughter and the carer that assaulted her only got 2 years in jail. She moved out of state to be closer to family cause she said she was never going to let a stranger watch her daughter again.
I think about that alot. Especially now that I have a disabled kid of my own… at least my boy can walk and talk. But she was just a kid, and god knows how often he had assaulted her and he only got 2 years in jail for it…

There needs to literally be security cameras in patients rooms that are in these kinds of medical states. PERIOD. I've said this for a very long time.
Rather than inside rooms it would be good to have them above the room door. In order to see who comes in and out and when they were in there.

I've been to many different hospitals and actually quite a lot of them don't have them in these areas. I like how she knew she was pregnant by looking at the ultrasound showing the right lobe of the liver, the right kidney, and ascites around the liver. She's a brilliant doctor.
She said she was going to check the bladder. That's in the vicinity. But yes it would have been odd if all she did was look at the liver 😂😂
😂😂 I was waiting for this comment, the probe was placed around the pelvic region but all we saw was liver, kidney and fluid.... 😂
They should put a camera in every room! Privacy doesn’t matter with stuff like this! If that was my daughter, I would want a camera!
Thermal cameras can be used instead
@@twinkles5114 well…. That’s actually an awesome idea but it still wouldn’t identify people
Though I guess with this you could also make sign in logs for patients.

The fact her parents wanted to keep the baby cause “while it’s bad.. it’s a blessing! We get a piece of her!” Like I can only imagine how many selfish people do that to comatose women in real life.

@@kanagapriya494 Chicago med
It can definitely be seen as selfish but I also think it depends on the person's beliefs if they know ahead of time. I mean if you also think about it, keeping her in a vegetative state is also selfish
I mean, if the parents want to keep the baby I don't see the problem, especially if it is too far along. Find the positives in the worst of humanity I guess? Something to help their daughter, since they probably have felt hopeless for a long while

I can't even imagine how terrifying that must have been for her, being able to hear and feel what was happening to her but unable to move or call for help-
Some people are truly sick, twisted, evil human beings.
This really happened not too long ago too. Luckily the man was caught, he worked on the staff
This is so messed up. Can't believe this happens.
Back in high school I made a bill to prevent this exact thing from happening(or lessen the chances of it) in youth and gov. It passes with flying colors and everyone loved it. Unfortunately it was never brought up again bc they "ran out of time" somehow a bill about being able to ride unicorns was passed more times then mine was brought up I'm not joking. Still bitter
I have epilepsy and when I've had an episode, can still hear everything that's going on. I just can't respond.
When I watched Kill Bill , I thought there is no way you could SA a patient in coma since Hospitals are so busy and people are always coming in and out of different rooms. It's scary how common it is
Through the day yes but at night things quiet down and there's usually less staff and little to no visitors in patient areas
I was in a coma for 43 days and still do not remember anything that was going on. Maybe it’s for the better that I don’t.

this has happened in real life, as others have said. many disabled patients are abused by their caregiver- just tragic
And it's ironic how this is still happening to many disabled people and when even some dr find out they're abused they just clearly silence the matter for the sake of the name of their ideologies and again I'm repeating some but there's someone in this crowd who will take initiative to stop them. Just making law is not sth required now actually we need policies to enforce them nd people who know how to not cover up this crime and actually help the victim!

I was terrified of ever getting surgery when I was younger cuz of stuff like this, but I’ve had to have surgery twice and the people who treated me were great. What helps is looking into the background of the hospital you’re going to or the specialists there, if the hospital or surgeon has good ratings you should be fine. My surgeons had great ratings and that put my mind at ease.
