  • On this Episode of streetpower we take a CX racing BBC twin turbo set up off of a 1969 Camaro and put it on a BBC in a 1981 Chevy C10 Truck aptly named the "Dub City Muscle Truck". We also swap the carb for a Fitech Go efi 8 power adder system capable of supporting 1200hp part # 30012. The fuel system is then upgraded with the Hyperfuel #40008 Dual 340lph can set up. It is also equipped with a voodoo cammed bbc,10.5:1 compression, flowmaster 10 series, 3.73 gear, 26 inch wheel,5k high stall converter, dub, big block chevy, c1500, silverado, not small block chevy twin turbo: this is a quick drive in a 1981 chevy c10 box 2wd 496, aluminum flo-tek heads, aed 850 carb

Great job on the video. My favorite part is after the truck is back together and seeing it hit the street.

Love the build I have bbc to did you lower your cpr to run the twins?

No, the compression is about 10.5 to 1. When you run turbo's on a bbc you can run about 10-11 psi of boost as long as you pull timing out early. Total timing with full boost needs to be in the ballpark of 15 -17 degrees on 93 octane. This is ONLY with a carb or fuel injection that injects( throttle body style) at the same level of the carb. This acts like an intercooler and keep detenation away. If you run higher octane you can run more boost. Sbc has different rules. The bbc has a very inefficient combustion chamber. When tuning, start with low boost and lower end on timing and have an AFR meter.

Streetpower cool I wanna run e85 I have the A1000 aeromotive I heard it drops cpr down a bit I’m 11.1 cpr

e85 does not drop the compression of the engine. But, what it does do is act like cheap race gas. Think of it like 108 octane but pump gas, it has 85% achohol which resist detonation. Be careful if you run e85 because the engine needs almost twice as much fuel when you run e85 vs 93 octane regardless of the hp you can make. So the pump may not support as much hp as you think check with aeromotive with e85.
