Great video as always, Dan! And everytime I see your intro, I cant help but remember your old one (Down by the shore). Good times. :) And also, theres something extremely satifying about hearing "Google Plus!" in a yorkshire accent.
I tried metal detecting as a kid without any success, I place my failure down to the fact I never had a metal detector, just a stick, I used to walk along going *beep* *beep* *beep*, I used to get some weird looks, especially in the Arndale Center. I did find some Gold once but the shop keeper wouldn't let me keep it and disagreed with my insistence that the 'finders keepers' law actually existed for boxes of chocolates off the shelf, and also doubted that the Police would believe my 'liar, liar, pants on fire' defense. It was all lies by the way, it wasn't until I was 16 that I found that boxes of All Gold were not in fact all gold but cunningly shaped chocolate in gold foil, bas- uh the swines! Google+ problems eh? I wonder if they own Tom-tom with their sneaky tricks to get you stuck in fields or rivers rather than your real destination, I think the companies are whole owned by a family of internet Trolls. The doctors laughed at my conspiracy theories but they are all coming true! true I say true! except maybe the one about Wombles burying buckles trying to create more green belt land.
I believe the reason why there are so many buckles is because people needed a way to hitch their animals to ploughs, and carriages. Since the harnesses got a ton of use, the leather probably wore away and the buckles sort of fell off.
Hi DDD, another great video. Thanks for sharing the hunt with Jackie, John, Ged and all of your other detector friends. What a beautiful day to hunt. Congrats on all of the cool finds and it is a real shame that Google+ has screwed up your views and hurt your income so badly. I haven't seen anyone mention it but could that be the reason RUclips agreed to the change? Were they paying out too much money and knew that the change would mess up everything and cut down how much they had to pay people? Just a thought. Great hunt, great video and great finds. Thanks for sharing. GL & HH. MojaveMan
Yep, this google+ has messed up a bunch of people....what a pile of crap it is! I havent commented on your vids for a long time because you get SOoooooooo many but just thought I would put in my 2 cents. Was fun to see you & John & Jackie out & about. It was a beautiful day, you were with friends and you have your health..... what more could one ask for? (I know you will probably say GOLD :) but NO amount of money can buy a good day~! GL&HH
At 18:37 you have the upper part of a poketwatchkey in your hand. You have the brass handle and the steel tube with the square hole size 7 at the bottom wich fits into the winding mechanism of the watch is missing. By the way, i found your lovely chanel yesterday. It is verry entertaining. Bang, bang, bang .... bang, bang, bang, bang, bang. Hahaha! Go on, get it!
Hi dan top video sorry your detectors are playing up you can always lend my Etrac all you have to do is call and collect it be good to see you. Good bit of fun with the gift I sent Jackie. All the best buddy. GL HH
Thank you, for posting another video. Your enthusiasm is always a moral pick me up for the day. Sorry your detectors are broken, and that you got screwed by google plus. found your channel on accident one day when I was looking for videos on tank recovery. been a subscriber ever sense. good luck to you Dan wish you well. thomas
I don't normally comment but I got to say it. You are a absolute hoot I must watch atleast ten of your vids a day maybe more. You make metal detecting cool. I have to say I can't find much here in Texas. I want to find artifacts from the Texas revolution I live about 2 to 3 miles from the battle of Santa anna. And Sam Houston. But your finds make me believe I can and will find treasures. I'm still going to get the at pro since there main factory is so close to me. And you and says chigger make them happening. Keep your spirits up hate seeing you down so keep your chin up. P.s. your the bomb. My kids love you too.
Love your videos... I've watched so many, I'm starting to say, Come on, Get In... My friends look at me funny like... lol You mentioned how many views you got and get now... I'd love that low number on mine.. but all I do is show how to sculpt.. lol nothing exciting like finding history like you do... Keep it up .. GET IN...!!!
Very sorry to hear about all your troubles Dan. I hope things improve, you certainly deserve it! That thing at 9:07 looks like a compass leg with the hole being where the pencil goes and the thread is for tightening to hold it in, possibly? What has Google+ done to RUclips???!!! GL&HH DDD. Deano.
Keep your head up Dan. You've still got your small army of loyal subscribers! We wont let you down! Id send an email to Garrett and/or minelab explaining your situation and that you've got 34000 people subscribed to your channel and thousands of viewers every day watching you use their detectors. Pretty sure there are enough people who bought garrett or minelab metaldetectors because of you including me! Hang in there itll work out I'm sure of it.
Dan, I have an AT Pro and I completely agree with you about the east coast beaches. The machine may be great elsewhere but it really struggles to the point of being useless on those beaches.
1:45 there are 2 odd reflections moving behind you, is that something you added or something you can explain? Couldnt be flares, those you see clearly with a 'tail'. Planes/helicopters would be unlikely, you will hear those on the video and they would show at least some shape. For that matter, they will fly closer together if they were in formation 4:10 That's pretty new, post WW2 for sure, most likely even 70's and newer 5:24 Never ever found any buckle at all, all I seem to find is Alu-cans and iron junk. Best finds so far is a tap from 1500-1600's and a small bronze shield thingy probably 1800's. Dit find parts from old mills, but those are all iron and to darned heavy to lift. No worth to take i'd say, so you should be happy you find so many great finds :( 9:11 That's likely to be from a machine from early 1900's up to end WW2. So not that old, yet I never seen one before. Nice find 10:15 Looks like a tag from a machine of some kind 11:23 The star shaped thing on the right is likely representing the sun, that left one is not complete unfortunately. But it may well be part of the same thing. What it is I do not know Brooch might be, but the one on the left had a different purpose, looks like it has 3 point attachement. So all unclear in that. And yes, Google managed to destroy a lot, I couldn't even login for a few weeks thanks to them. Plus they are working with the US gouvernment in gathering information of us who use the internet.
You inspired me to dig through my woods I found two Susan b Anthony coins, 1 ten dollar Jamaican coin, 1 John Adams golden dollar, 5 dollar french coin, 1 Canadian Pennie, and a 20 dollar Greek coin! Thank you for your inspiration!
Nice video Dan, and what a day, btw am sure u know now that that thingy in begining u said was modern, is a hook to put the carpet in place in the stairs (victorian) all the best mate /Per

Another great video and I actually recognised one of the things you found The item with the number seven on it. It's definitely broken key for a pocket watch. It's my other passion not broken keys I mean watches and clocks lol.
great finds dan :-) ..the find at 08.54 on the video i think its one half of a compass for drawing round things..pencil or pen would go in the hole then screw up the other half would have a point on it :-) ..GOOGLE+ told me that lol
Deep digger dan, my garret ace 350 does the exact same thing at beaches!!! doesn't matter how many times i do the setting it does not work on wet sand!!!!
I tell you, it's impossible to find anything over here where I live. I dig and search all day, but all I end up with is half a dozen handfuls of Google Pluses
The retailer I purchased my Whites MX Sport from here in the state's will loan me (or any of their customers) one of their own personal detectors if the one currently being used ever have to be sent in for repair. Great customer service from my Whites rep!!

I have the same detector, the plug is standard audio jack, only the audio level is very loud on standard headphones because the speaker amp has no volume control. Search for headphone series resistor or headphone volume control.
Google plus, hard to believe they have any following....:( Hope your detector issues get resolved Dan, it must be hard to have to use broken and or substandard products. Time for the XP Deus? Wireless would be nice :) Keep on smiling you have a large group of dedicated subscribers who really appreciate your videos !

I must really suck, all I kept finding was water, well if you call falling into a pond five times finding water.
ha ha, very humorous Michael. lol
ahaha lmao
I believe the reason why there are so many buckles is because people needed a way to hitch their animals to ploughs, and carriages. Since the harnesses got a ton of use, the leather probably wore away and the buckles sort of fell off.

No. 7 is the top of a pocket watch key, the metal shaft that has the square hole has rusted away. 7 is the size of the winder hole.
The propellant inside the shell at 3:54 is called "Cordite" -Cord-ite-
It was the main propellant used before smokeless powder.
Another Great Video Dan, Thanks!
Yay :) thanks for the extra-life mention dan :)
***** can i have the Metal Detector
that don't work on sand i don't have sand i have always want id a Metal Detect you make me want to go Metal Detecting but i don't have a Metal Detector please you say it is crap please mr Deep Digger Dan
That box with the " gold Shuffle " looked too clean. Someone planted it a few minutes before.
I have the same detector, the plug is standard audio jack, only the audio level is very loud on standard headphones because the speaker amp has no volume control.
Search for headphone series resistor or headphone volume control.

The worms in the bullet casing are called cordite instead of gunpowder.
I think the thing you found at 19 mins is a tapper for moors code.
Good video dan..shame about your etrac.. I hope it comes to life soon..all the best and good luck :)
Thanks Dan!
So what is the best Metal Detector for land, field etc. you can recommend me?
I'm guessing all those buckles are off harnesses from when they farmed with horses.
Loving these videos!
Hello the bullet with the straw in is a blank just goes BANG! BANG! I used to shoot them 303 rifle the straw used to make the grass shake! Hey dan when you feel a little better about frankfurters! Please give the recipe a go, I hated Jaffa cakes! Good pasty though lol .

That little item with a 7 on it looks like it could be a pocket watch key.
I need to get back in to this again :)
I THINK MIKE MAY HAVE A BIT OF A GOOGLE + CRUSH ON YOU , DAN .
those strings in the shell are what's left of the cordite they were loaded with probably a 303 I have some head stamped 33 the year they were made they still go bang every time .

Did you ever manage to get the Google+ issues resolved Dan?
Hi Dan. Only one entry in this competition? It must be Googles fault. Google should go into Porn. They Screwed a bunch of people this past week. SMH. Hey Dan did you really fjnd that I dig you box with the shovel? If not that was good acting
At 9/17 the item is part of a school compass, should have a pencil going through the hole
your very first find looks a bit like a hammer from a old musket gun
