Those round footstones at the creek crossing have been there since my first hike on the trail in the 60's. Glad to see the recovery underway from the fire. The area won't return to its pre-fire grandeur in my lifetime. Still can't fathom the mind of the person who set off fireworks near Punch Bowl falls during high fire season just to hear the echo.
Stop holding her up! Your narrative and Tina's bucket-list. This is GOLD. Who created that passage?!!? I'm totally flummoxed. That mileage makes me tired, too.
Very cool hike, we are planning a North West trip again and will have to put it on the absolutely must do list. Thanks for sharing, enjoying your vacation too. Looked like a really good day. The Oregon coast is epic.
Great video, as always. This is out my back door, so I suppose I'm guilty of takeing it all for granted; and probably why I'm so enthralled by your diametrically opposed desert, canyon, slick rock videos.
I've hiked to tunnel falls 5 or 6 times usually on my way to timberline lodge or wahtum lake. It truly is one of the most beautiful six miles of hiking in the United States if you are a fan of waterfalls.
" Tina loves trees, mountains and forests. " Which is why I'm surprised you guys haven't made it to the Sierras in California. Maybe you have, but before your RUclips days. Anyway, awesome video as usual!
My favorite hike in gorge. Boy set fireworks off to celebrate a birthday. Haven’t been up there in a while. Looks pretty bad. Thanks for sharing. Look forward to your coast hikes. You two are the best
Totally get the wanting to experience something different than what you've seen your whole life. I guess that's why the southwest is so captivating for my wife and me (Chicago natives). Enjoyed this video, thanks for sharing.
The joy was palpable and I love seeing that. Its one of the reasons I enjoy your videos so much. I think I'd have reacted exactly this way. Of course, I'm as into mountains, trees and waterfalls as Tina is. One day, Oregon, one day.
Oregon did not disappoint. Between all the waterfalls, beaches and redwoods (OK, that was California), it was so different from our normal desert environments. You won't be disappointed.
I wish you folks had been able to hike this before the fire in I think 2017. Eagle Creek was one of the most heavily damaged areas and was closed for probably 2 or more years. Thanks for taking me there again! The damage is devastating for me to see, but yes it's still beautiful .
The best trIl i ha e ever hiked. Used to be my yearly retreat to re-boot my soul. Haven't done it in about 10 years sad to say. A d as a result, my soul is tired and depleted...😪
Gotta get back out there. If you aren't close by, find something as a substitute you can get to. Of course, that would be tough. I miss it already and don't know what else compares.
Tunnel Falls looks incredible! The reactions say it all - it’s one of those places that photos just can’t capture. Oregon has such stunning trails, and seeing you guys walk through the tunnel was awesome. Really makes me wanna add this to my list! 🌲💦 Thanks for sharing such a genuine experience!
Keep stopping, Tina! 😂❤ Jerry, stopping on the bridge IS cinematic! Who crosses a bridge on a hiking trail without lingering a bit or at least slowing down to glance over the side at the creek below? 💁🏻♀️🥰
I was born in Seattle raised in San Diego been from Canada to Mexico. Think Oregon is a beautiful mix of California and Washington probably can’t be beat and man you capture it well! Wait till you see the coast it’s totally insane!!
So stoked that you and Tina did this one! One of my favorites in all the PNW. Next time, if time allows, go the extra 1/4 mile to Twister Falls for the perfect lunch spot before you head back.
I did this trail a few years ago and it was amazing. However it was way too long for me so thats what made it a 4 stars instead of 5. The punch bowl falls, the tunnel and twister falls were all beautiful plus all the bridges we crossed.
That's a great hike up there. Just past there is 7 1/2 mile camp. A great place to spend the night and enjoy hiking up along the top of the ridge line from the river. The sword ferns are so beautiful. Thx for sharing your adventure~
@@JerryArizona It really is beautiful and it seems you hit it when the trail was virtually empty. From 7 1/2 mile camp its another hop skip and jump up the the trail east is Wahtum Lake that has a campground. Hope you'll get another chance sometime~
Just 500 yards or so further and just around the corner from Tunnel is Twister falls. Definitely worth the extra 10 minutes or so to get a unique look at it.
My son and I hiked back to Tunnel Falls in February of 2016. It was an awesome hike but my feet were very sore because of the rocky trail. I live near the Columbia River Gorge and I've been on many hikes there.
Already back, but we got to spend two weeks up there and in northern California. Absolutely love the PNW. Years ago we got to check out Washington and it is still one of my favorite trips.
Fifteen years since I did the same hike and I could pinpoint (and was sent whirling back in time for a moment) nearly every part of the trail that you videoed, even the one looking up at the hill that loomed over the trail. The trees up there were alive when I was up there but the location was easy to recognize. The trail past the first bridge looked even narrower than I remember it. I remembered the narrowness before the first bridge 'cuz I hiked that part a couple times and the narrowness and the deadly drop are burned into my brain. Nice hike. Nice video. Glad you finally got to see it. I wanted to comment that the trail following the creek ABOVE Multnomah Falls is pretty cool too but looks like you may have already done that. I'll have to check out your video of that area. I want so bad to jump into tour guide mode (I'm not a tour guide) and give you some suggestions about the coast but you know how to research areas and I'm confident you'll find some good locations there to explore and experience.
We did more touristy hikes on this trip. It's hard logistically to look up hidden gems and plan more rugged trips when we're doing so many so far from home. Plus, it was nice to take it easy for a change. But we'll be back.
More and more people move here to Oregon because we have water…and lots of it. You two also? I’ve seem a TON of Texas license plates up here the last several months…in my NEIGHBORHOOD. Damn. Those teens playing with matches back in 2017 really messed up the Columbia River Gorge hiking experience…it uses to be more amazing than it is now
Fire damage was from 2017. Some teenagers were hucking fireworks into the gorge in September. Thanks kids - let's just choose the driest time of the year and the most scenic part of the Columbia River Gorge.
Absolutely stunning!!!
The tide pools on the Oregon coast are phenomenal
Thank you, that was amazing and beautiful. Not sure I will ever get there so I appreciate you making the hike and recording it. Great job!
Ive hiked eagle creek a dozen times and didn't know about the footstones!
Stop holding her up! Your narrative and Tina's bucket-list. This is GOLD. Who created that passage?!!? I'm totally flummoxed. That mileage makes me tired, too.
yesssss

Wow!! Just wow. Can’t be afraid of heights or ledges on this one. The passage 👌
Now you have me wanting to do more exploring in Oregon. Great hike! Thanks for taking us along.
Absolutely stunning, thank you for sharing!!!!

you captured that trail beautifully! Tunnel and Twister Falls both are well worth the incredible hike! Hope you enjoyed the coast too!
I've had a few comments about Twister Falls. I should've done more research before we went. I didn't realize it was so close.
I've hiked to tunnel falls 5 or 6 times usually on my way to timberline lodge or wahtum lake. It truly is one of the most beautiful six miles of hiking in the United States if you are a fan of waterfalls.
Beyond Heaven ❤️
Lelah mendaki terbayarkan dengan pemandangan air terjun yg cantik sekali 🎉
Outstanding episode my friend, you created such a wonderful and unique atmosphere here! Love it

Omg this has been on my bucket list for the last 2 years. How gorgeous!
It was amazing. If I could do it over, I'd look into a longer backpacking route on that trail.
Thanks for taking us along! It's soo beautiful ❤
That was amazing, just stunning! Thanks for another great video!
❤ Wonderful - 8:16 is the most epic shot. Thanks for taking us there! 😁
❤❤❤ this! Thank you for always providing great video and having Tina and yourself with some fun content
My favorite hike in gorge. Boy set fireworks off to celebrate a birthday. Haven’t been up there in a while. Looks pretty bad. Thanks for sharing. Look forward to your coast hikes. You two are the best
I haven’t been back there since the fire. Now I realize it’s time to go back! Thanks for sharing your adventure, and for “getting the shot!”
I was here over the summer and it was super cool but somehow your videos make it look even more amazing.
What a beautiful place!
Thank you Jerry. Fantastic videography, well done
Awesome. Glad you guys are getting to explore one of my favorite states. Look into the Eagle Cap wilderness in eastern Oregon. The alps of Oregon.
That link is cool. How'd you do that?
Totally get the wanting to experience something different than what you've seen your whole life. I guess that's why the southwest is so captivating for my wife and me (Chicago natives). Enjoyed this video, thanks for sharing.
Very beautiful, thank you very much, God bless

That was pretty incredible! Anxious to see what you get along the coast. We just got back from Gold Beach! Another nice video!😀👍
Gold Beach in Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park? We got to see that too. Incredible.
I purposely went light on the edit to show exactly how it felt at the time. This was the highlight of a trip full of highlights.
Whoa! That is sooo cool!
Well this isn’t unpleasing to the eyes at all. Beautiful area.
Keep stopping, Tina! 😂❤

And to think this is just the beginning of the rains in Oregon you should see the falls in late March
That's a great hike up there. Just past there is 7 1/2 mile camp. A great place to spend the night and enjoy hiking up along the top of the ridge line from the river. The sword ferns are so beautiful. Thx for sharing your adventure~
I didn't realize you could backpack it or I would've planned better. It looked amazing for an overnight.

Superlative Video!!
Éxcelent video🎉
Eagle Creek Trail is such a fun trail! Did it once a couple of years ago
Wow, what a location!
Tell me, how often did you go through that tunnel? :-)
My son and I hiked back to Tunnel Falls in February of 2016. It was an awesome hike but my feet were very sore because of the rocky trail. I live near the Columbia River Gorge and I've been on many hikes there.
Awesome hike and video, and now you're up in my neck of the woods. Are you spending much more time in the PNW?
Already back, but we got to spend two weeks up there and in northern California. Absolutely love the PNW. Years ago we got to check out Washington and it is still one of my favorite trips.
Come back in summer and we can run the canyon, it's a good one!

Stunning. 👍59
Welcome to the PNW! Eagle Creek trail is definitely the local gorge favorite. But.... you should have seen it before the fire! (I had to say that).
Stunningly beautiful! Not the vistas of desert country, but spectacular nonetheless.
What did you record your footage on? A very good job.
@@RandyHoover-re4fc thanks! This is canon EOSR (35mm f1.8) for macros and stills and a DJI Osmo Pocket 3 for everything else.
Awesome! Welcome to beautiful OR. Where on coast you goin? I’m down South in Ashland area if you get this way
Any plans to visit the Japanese garden in Portland?
More and more people move here to Oregon because we have water…and lots of it. You two also?

I can't even imagine what it was like before.
You won't go wrong going to the Oregon coast... it's the best!
Beautiful but is there good post-hike Mexican food in OR?
👍🏻🫶🏻

I remember when that happened. Heartbreaking.
Zip a dee doo dah!
Hope you made it to twister falls as well?
It is a very dangerous trail and you should be very careful if you take young children. I've hiked this trail several times
That’s a really great tip for those of us that bring little kids along for these adventures!
Not far from there
