It's refreshing to watch an Overland video where the people are just enjoying the ride and not documenting their existential crises.
I go there a lot and what's so amazing about the redwoods is that when one redwood gets sick the other ones try to save it. It's a whole ecosystem down there. They are alive. It's the most beautiful thing I've hiked the Lost Coast camped out there. Been all over on the redwoods and I never ever get tired of it. It's the most beautiful thing on earth
How does one help another ?
Not always foggy. We have a lot of sunny days too 😂 ...enjoyed your video. Mckinleyville Northern California Humboldt county resident. God's amazing creations all around 🙌 to enjoy. The Ocean has been beautiful this week. Bluebird skies. 🙌💙🌲🙌
This was so fun to watch....
Beautiful area. Being older that many subscribers, I have enjoyed those places since the early 70's when our family vacationed there, later when we took our kids there, and later again as we returned as a couple. The giant trees, ferns, and coastlines are amazing. There is even more to see if you do your homework. Enjoy.
What a beautiful country 😊❤😍😍
Thank you Ben!. You Rock and your videos are an inspiration to all finding adventure and peace through nature.
Awesome video!!! Thank you for sharing ! Can't wait to embark on this adventure!
Such a beautiful trip. Love the background and historical information. Years ago I backpacked from Petrolia to Usal Beach along the Lost Coast trail. Spectacular beauty there.
Gold Bluffs is an amazing place. One of my favorite campsites I’ve ever visited! An overall amazing video!
I stumbled across your video this evening. Wonderful and amazing video! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you for this !
Amazing video, would love to do this route someday. 🍻
We are from Boston , Ma.
Charlestown to be exact.
We stayed on the ocean in Trinidad and did the coast
It was absolutely breathless
Those are some of my favorite motorcycle touring roads and camp sites! Very good narration and videography. I learned a few things about my own back yard from your video, and agree with you on your choices to include in your tour. I do have a Jeep Wrangler now, but haven't started touring in it yet.
That’s exactly what inspired the portion of the route from Dyerville Loop, Bell Springs and Sherwood Road, even though we skipped Sherwood due to heavy mud!
I bikepack … been keeping an eye out for routes that aren’t usually marked for bikes. We use mountain bikes and fully support ourselves (sleep systems, cook etc). This route looks doable but I shy away from Highways -(
@@raymarks7430 so lots of folks are cycling and bikepacking up highway 101 through the Redwood Coast during the summer months. You could take mostly dirt roads from Mattole River until you hit highway 1 north of Westport along the mendo coast.
@@OverlandTrailGuides thanks I’ll look at this !
Sorry i missed the last day on the trail. Can’t wait to head back into the redwoods again later this year. Love the video.
Great content. Keep it up!
Awesome film! Looks like a great trip through some beautiful terrain. Sometimes, I think the rain is great because it helps to create solitude. As long as you're dressed for the weather and stay dry, it helps reduce crowds, which can be a big plus in my book.
Beautiful content! Absolutely loved going with you and Shasta.
Definitely beautiful country but I'm prejudiced as I grew up in Humboldt County CA. Definitely recognized a lot of the roads you took. I'll be down there visiting my mom this July.
Great video - fun to watch good videos of what we call home! I would say, you guys must have stuck out like crazy with all the huge trucks and equipment. Forest service doesnt even pack that heavy for trail maintenance 🤣
They are such a special place to shed away from society and be amongst the giants. Sooo much hiking to be done... and if you search hard enough youll find some gems like rare albinos or some of the oldest in the world 🤯
Awesome video. I’ll be doing at least a portion of this in July, coming down from Oregon. I can’t wait and this has definitely helped with some planning! 🤙🏻🤙🏻
Love the dedication and video! Thank you!
Shasta lez gooo beautiful day.
Wow man. What a video. Good job.
Love this video and the info you provided. This route just moved up on my list ...
Thank you, Beautiful video.
Like always good stuff Ben!
We're inspired!
Aaahhh, you didn't start at Jedediah Smith Redwoods. Great hiking.
Awesome video bro makes me want to make the journey up here one day
Amazing. Thank you.
Imo Fern Canyon is a must see if you are in the redwood np.
Meetup location reads "Crescity City, CA", just FYI
Great video!! You from Delco by chance?
Hello, great video.whats the name of the song you used for the intro?Ty
Nicely done, How much time did you spend at Bull Creek Flats? That log bridge is pretty cool. Imaging some folks may be afraid to cross. Thanks for an informative video.
Never as much time as I’d like. I would love to spend an entire day just wandering the trails out there one day. About as close as you can get to the supernatural IMO.
Love this thanks for sharing.
Curious are dogs allowed on the trails? Also what’s your opinion of a 4x4 sprinter taking this adventure?
Please check out the complete route guide. Link is in the video description.
Dogs are not allowed on most trails in Redwood NP and State Parks, but temps are typically comfortable so you can usually leave the pup behind in the vehicle, which is what we did.
@@OverlandTrailGuides much thanks for the reply, my apologies for the question prior to finding/ looking at the website 🍻
I live in mendocino county
do these roads require four wheel drive?
in exactly which month did you film this ?
Hey Ben, What's the crowds like?
Depends on your timing. Humboldt Redwoods, Redwood National and State Parks gets busy over the summer. But most of the dirt backroads are empty.
$100,000 rigs on roads that a Kia can handle. 👏🏻 Beautifully edited though.
By no means do I know what I am talking about. I am always hesitant to winch a tree that is pointing down the mountainside. My reasoning is that if the tree happens to slide downhill uninterrupted, my attached 6k lbs vehicle will follow. Be safe.
I’m pushing 5 tons with my rig ;)
They rolled decent Tan Oak firewood 'down the hill'. If you cut a tree, leave the firewood along the road, a local will cut it up pretty quick.
You can drive atv on the route???
The men to do education expand forest rains secouya recollection seeds revolution green all cost ocean 🌊 pacific with drone down up now
Trees are spectacular but to say they make you feel inconsequential is ignorance, we are special created by God don’t minimize humanity
Arrogance
Y you guys spend all that money on those trucks, just to ride around on gravel roads you could do in your wife’s car?
lol !
This was my wife's car...
@@johncasson8787 cool! All we could afford was second-hand minivans, “ back in the day “
well, great stuff but one thing i need to explain here as it seems to get really trendy....OVERLANDING = CAMPING. yup. camping is overlanding...I do have a tacoma with gear but i do not tell people i'm going overlanding for the week, i simply say I"m going................Camping.....it was always camping. I really want to meet the turd that decided to call it overlanding.
