    • My Eating Disorder
Hello angels. I’ve tried my best to make sure this isn’t a triggering video in any way, please be mindful though & in the comment section too. I'm sorry for the silence... I'm scared to upload this, although i find talking to the camera a lot easier than talking in real life, coz it doesn't feel like anyone can hear me, but anyways, if it can help even one person, then it's worth it.

I've been watching you for years and I can not explain to you how much you've helped me! I went through a stage where I hit rock bottom 2 years ago and was nearly hospitalised (not through an eating disorder but still mental health), I honestly felt helpless and your positivity helped me SO much! I sat every day and watched your videos and you were one of my inspirations to get better. I can't explain to you how proud I am of you for fighting this!! Just through watching your videos, I can tell you're one of the kindest and loveliest people I've ever come across!! Maybe sharing videos through your recovery journey will help you out a little as you can see how many people support you? Keep strong girl! You can do this!! Focus on one day at a time and before you know it, you'll be looking back and seeing how far you've come xxx

Honestly Jodes you have explained this so so well. You have really explained anorexia so amazingly!! I can tell you now, as a recovering anorexic, that everything therapists tells you is true. You may have heard of starvation syndrome, and the theory is literally so true. The more I ate the less anxious about food and body image I was. I became less and less consumed, and I’m feeling great currently. I was just moaning every therapy session saying my therapist was just wanting me to be fat, just telling me to “eat more” just as if it was as easy as that. But it is soo so true I promise. I know it’s not easy in the slightest, it is the hardest thing I’ve ever been through. I send you so so much love and support and courage jodes, I know how hard this journey is, but the recovered outcome will be amazing. Lyl!!! Xx

You’re so worthy of this journey to your “new book” Jodes. This isn’t a chapter for sure this is definitely re-writing your new book (your new zest for life!) and cut ties with history! You’re ready to flourish and nourish; to start a new healthy journey!! You deserve all the things you aspire to want to achieve and do, and I’ve no doubt that you’ll get through this as I know you’re such a strong willed person and you’ve got such a soft nature. Your purpose is to definitely heal yourself and then heal others as you’re such a kind, gentle and fun soul! You’re naturally a warm character and even through tough times you still smile and still try your best to keep going! That’s signs of someone who deserves the very best from life! You’re still showing gratitude and love even in this video, even when you feel broken down and you know what I think Jodes? Don’t go back and pick up the glass from where it’s shattered you but push forward in creating your new masterpiece! Life is yours for the taking and the world always falls in love with a stubborn heart that refuses to give up, soon enough with YOUR determination and drive you will come through the other side and life will throw you so many blessings. Just remember, this journey might have ups and downs but as long as you don’t quit, remember if you fall just try to get back up again, and keep going, as I really believe you’re going to get to where you want to be. I really believe in you and I think you’ll be SO proud of yourself as long as you keep going. You CAN silence the voice behind this dreadful illness and It’s worth fighting for your beautiful life to come, good luck Jodes and take care of yourself! You can do this and YOU will, just remember that. Xxx

Keep fighting Jodes, it is the hardest thing but there is a way out. I personally had a 'turning point' that I remember vividly and often it is the rock bottom of the disease and it's almost like an 'ah-ha' that you cannot carry on like this- a scary reality that, like you say, it's trying to kill you, because it almost does. YOU CAN DO THIS, it's hard, don't let people force you to go faster than you need to, even small progress is progress, but you can do it.

I have been through a multitude of eating disorders and mental illnesses too, look back through your channel, your skin looked so healthy, your hair so glossy, you have a natural glow. And now it really isn't there, you don't look healthy at all, you are better than this! You will never reach ana's idea of perfection so tell her to f*ck off! You will not gain anything through eating disorders, you just become isolated and it strips your self confidence. Once you get past the stage of guilt with eating, you're on the road to recovery! Good luck Jodie, the best advice I can give you with recovery is, you'll get out what you put in. You have to be honest with yourself and others. ❤️❤️

Jode, this video has truly inspired me to the cores. 6 years of my life have been stolen away by mental illness, and like you say enough is enough, I cannot afford to lose any more years to these horrible illnesses. I was so consumed that I started to believe I wasn’t needed or loved and no one would care if I took my life. Thank YOU for this video as it practically saved my life wether you believe it or not. I would like to write more to you but I’ve been so embarrassed to have suffered, but yeah mental illnesses are just labels and they do not define us!!!

I want to see YOU happy and well but if you set the bar to high you could be setting yourself up to fail. I have always really enjoyed watching your videos, you are just really soothing and calming to watch. Don't want to say too much because I feel like I don't want to trigger anyone but lately I've been feeling quite low mentally and have been struggling quite a lot with the food side of stuff and feeling really anxious about my body and just generally struggling with my relationship with food. Sometimes it's hard for me to accept that I'm struggling because I kind of feel like it makes me weak or less strong than I feel I should be. But I'm determined that I am going to start really trying to focus on getting myself back to a place where I just eat what makes me feel happy. Thank you for bringing me and so many other people strength, inspiration and hope for recovery

It scares me how much I resonate with your description of how anorexia affects you. I am older than you are (30) and have had several hospital admissions too. I feel like I’ve passed my chances of getting better now and just existing like you say.
I don’t want you to end up like me or worse. I have known people from hospital be 50 years old and have spent their whole life in and out of treatment. It is no way to live and you definitely have so much to live for and have so much opportunities waiting for you. Lots of love and keep fighting xxx

I am in the exact same position as you. I too was hospitalised, I am from Manchester and I went to cheadle priory, and it was the worst experience of my life. Dogs are treated better than what the girls were. I had to discharge myself cos I wasn’t getting any help, all they were was a feeding farm and didn’t help with the mental state. I’m still trying everyday to get better and it’s the hardest journey. I’m still trapped. I just want you to know that you’re not on your own. You are so brave! Take each minute as it comes and keep talking to someone. Anyone. Never stop talking. My whole life I’ve watched the good days and the bad with anorexia. Often the bad. With A close family member. Never stop fighting back. You do deserve better, you deserve the world. Xxx

You're so brave jodes. Thank you so much for this video, I suffer from depression and a lot of what you said was relevant to me in terms of the mental state and fighting it and getting better. This gives me hope and is just so refreshing because I really feel you when you say you feel stupid and ashamed about the mental illness. Mental illnesses are terrible.. And the stigma around them is still terrible too, and you're doing a great job shedding more light on it. Love you so much!!

Aww Jode, firstly thank you for being so open about mental illness and anorexia.... you are an amazing young lady! Hope your true friends and family haven’t walked away when you’ve pushed them.... hope they realise that was the illness not you!
Take care we are all here supporting you, you can and will beat anorexia xxxxx

I read a book when I was younger called Just Listen, one character had anorexia and the story was told from her sisters perspective. Reading it had an incredible effect on me and since then I have had an incredible sympathy and empathy for any sufferer, as well as an understanding. You can fight this Jodes, pull out every positive you can, as well as all your friends and family you have such a strong online community behind you, you can do this 🥰

What a wonderfully articulated video. The fact you've waited to post this to address it shows your maturity and ability to recover. I was very close to this point years ago and my family and friends pulled me back. Life is worth living and it's wonderful that you're showing it. I wish you all the best with your recovery xxx

You are beautiful, you are smart, you deserve to have friends, you deserve to eat and fuel your body. You deserve to have a life full of happiness and laughter Jodes. Myself and thousands of others are rooting for you. Take your time, recover and come back 100000000 times stronger that the illness. You got this girl ❤
Also I think you should screenshot and print out all of these comments, from here, Twitter and instagram and put them on your wall. Look at them every day, especially when that unwell voice is loud. Then read the comments, read them aloud until that unwell voice is drowned out ❤
