Thanks for the great review, glad to hear you prefer the mini version. I think the wood scales look super, I’m opting for the Damascus blade, hope it looks as good as yours.
Only my personal opinion, but I do like it when designers take the opportunity to refine their designs when making a mini (or XL) version of their knives rather than just creating the same knife in a different size. (eg. same as the Banter & Baby Banter). Steel & blade design should make for an excellent slicer. I understand that 10Cr will allow for a thinner & more stable edge than 8Cr & 9Cr series along with expected better edge retention. Thanks for another great vid.
My 9 year old daughter loves your intro, "greetings Youtubians" 😆. Solid review. I received mine today and it's good. That being said, you nailed it on the action and the close. Great Civivi action but it's definitely gritty on the close. Mine also has some tiny nicks in the blade, along the top and in the choil. You can see the machining marks at the base of the blade. I received a baby banter that had a poorly ground blade edge as well. I had to completely remove the spacer from my lazar and flip it around. I'm a lefty and the screw that held the scale in place, opposite of the clip, would not screw in completely without doing so... Really starting to make me worry/question Civivi's quality control.
Tell your daughter she’s the coolest! 🙌🏼 And yes, I really hope Civivi continues to maintain their excellent quality standards. I’ve heard of more minor issues as well.
Kinda having hard time to choose between Mini Asticus, Imperium, and Mini Critical back then. I like this one and Imperium slender and slim profile but i also kinda avoiding "pointy" tip blade (i guess i'm just getting old). I do agree, this one is good looking knife, even better if they add some jimping and reshape that clip.
@@IndraJulian love hearing that, bro! I do love that knife! Action and aesthetics are 👌🏼🔥! You’ll most likely be seeing it on the channel later this year. 😉
OK! Take a look at SENCUT's 'Snap' with wood handle. It is very similar to this CIVIVI. The Cuibourtia Wood is also known as African Rosewood. In the 'Snap' handles butt end there is a landyard pin similar to this mini knife. FYI
Those clips are so so for the brand as a whole, but I don’t like it when they dress up a knife and put that thing on it. It looks cheap in that context.
Civivi and We Knife keeps releasing incredible knives. Its torturing. Best knife reviewer in youtube IMO
Thank you so much, Andika! That means a lot! 👊🏼 I’ve got another sweet new Civivi review uploading now! 🙌🏼
Surprisingly I don’t have any knives with wood scales yet, really like this set up! I’ve heard this steel in similar to VG10. Great review!

"This is a type of wood!"
Me every morning to my wife.
😂😂😂
I couldn’t figure out why it was better looking till you pointed out the scales

Damascus and jade g10 version is a great combination. Never was into wood scales...
It's actually African rosewood so yes, it's some fancy wood, from what I know there was a typo in the translation so it got called like that.
Great review, but shame on you for not showing us the scales before adding the oil! 😉
Awesome to see a mini version from civivi. Great review Wayne 👍

Those are 3 awesome knives and a super tough decision!! I don’t even know which one I would choose there! 😂
@@WaynesSharpWorld Well i ended up with Mini Critical, thanks to your awesome review though.

Please consider make dimensions info also in metric.
Just bend the clip to flatten it down. I did it to my Riffle because I feel the same way and its much better now.

They’re both made by the same company, just under different brand name offshoots.
I have the Snap and I love it
I have some larger hands and this knife is a little small for me I really enjoy the original Asticus much more but I do like it's little sibling to.
Late to the party but 10Cr15CoMov is just a Chinese analog of VG-10. Performance between this and your average Spyderco in VG-10 is probably a wash.
It really bugs me how Civivi don't offer wood scales on many satin blades. To me that is the classic pairing.
Agreed
Nice looking knife. Thanks Wayne!
How does it compare to Civivi Imperium? Which one you like better?
It doesn’t really compare to the Imperium… it’s smaller? I strongly prefer the Imperium.
Is their jimping on the top of the blade?
Nope
Should be but there isnt
Another knife that should have jimping is the cjrb scoria. I dont know why, its something simple that should be added😂
Better than a fat Asticus? You're killing me smalls! 🤣
😁😂👊🏼
when's the release date??
Available at KnivesPlus right now, if it’s still in stock. Should hit other retailers relatively soon.
Nice Asticus. More of a fan of a bigger, rounder Asticus myself though.
Here here

Agreed. I know they do it to cut cost, but I also think every knife having the same clip is cheap but also tacky.
Attention to detail? Or an opinion? Lmfao
Fuck... watched this again and remembered why i gave it a thumbs down lol bro smh........ you are as wishy washy as they come lol
