Like you said it is a great belly knife. I love my Ortis because it has that belly if I ever need to skin a deer and forget my skinning knife my Ortis EDC will work fine, I have that textured scale it does well when wet/blood. The fine clip point works well for detail work . I can still cut boxes no problem. Lightweight, built well , deep pocket carry , could not ask for more.
Yeah i preordered mine on blade Hq I think 🤔 I buy knifes from different sites all the time and forget we’re I bought them I haven’t had a chance to even open the package really busy but I wish I would have got one in black it looks awesome can’t wait to get a chance to check it out the Damascus version is nice as well
@@NeevesKnives The Rip? Idk. Tried to find some info on the recall, but couldn't find anything. You don't see to many "recalled" knives, though. Must have been something bad. ✌️
Another great knife from Civivi. They have been absolutely killing it. There hasn't been many Civivi's I haven't liked. They even did a great job with the budget priced Fracture. Great video again Jared.
Hello there neeves sense I am out of school Wednesday and not going back until next week or so I will hopefully be able to attend the live stream. Can’t wait 😁
My son bought the CF/Damascus version. Beautiful knife, esp for the price. Since I am not allowed to buy the same knife, I bought a Damascus Dogma. It’s so much similar, that I don’t get the little hype around this one compared to the Dogma. Is it just because it’s newer?
@@NeevesKnives agree. Of course the handle looks different and I like the lanyard hole on the Ortis better. But the slightly bigger size of the Dogma blade and as such also the hole makes reverse flicking easier.
I just got the dogma with brass scales, and that one feels a little small to me. I think I'll pass on the ortis. We puts out some great knives under the Civivi brand.
I love clip point blades ever since I bought my Cold Steel Broken Skull and it makes a fantastic little fillet knife because of the blade shape. I use all my knives for everything and when I say everything I mean everything my first quality knife I bought ( Kershaw RJ1 modified tanto, was a fantastic knife and the modified tanto was amazing just enough belly to be useful unlike Cold Steels american tanto lol) I pryed a hub cap off a car with it and broke the tip and had a friend sharpen it the best he could and accidentally cut through a live wire with it and that melted a huge divot in it and the only reason I don't have it anymore is because of the TSA. I loved that knife and would still be carrying it if it weren't for the ladder that happened but yeah (forgive my rambling) I use my knives as tools and yeah I may abuse them and use them as a screwdriver or pry bar but the way I grew up you use and abuse your tools.
Damn right you sound a lot like me with my knives i grew up in construction so a knife was always a valuable tool, and so thats how i treat them and it also makes me love them even more, thats where my joy comes from is the use of the tool
I like that black on black but I think you made some dam good points about this one. I’m not a fan of FRN either but I think your right, they may be cutting some corners now. Can’t complain though for 40 bucks cause the bar has been raised and it was raised by them, some might argue this with me but I’m sure it’s still a good knife from them! I’ve got my eyes set on Hinderer cause I’ve not owned one yet and I need one (need one 😂) that’s what true knife guys tell their selves right!
Yeah Oh i gotta have that 😆 but yeah for civivi you cant raise the bar then start cutting corners after you sucked everyone into reccomending them and saying they are the best bang for the buck, imho there second though Twosun is definitely the best bang for the buck
Just got this knife yesterday and it is a great budget knife. Great action and a nice blade. FRN? Well it's FRN wish it wasn't but I saved a few bucks most likely.
Nice! Yeah i bet the better material versions even feel better, thats why im upset about the frn, it cheapens a knife imo, and this is an awesome knife for sure
I think that this is just a downsized Dogma and they didn't expect it to blow up in popularity as much as it has. So it wasn't done in more prestige materials. I would bet a 57.00 usd micarta version is coming.

No problem sir. I'm happy to help when I can. I'm glad you liked it! Thank you for sharpening it. The edge looks great! ✌️

@@markh385 You'll like it. I have the Praxis in Damascus. Its one of my favorites! Take care!
Yeah its an amazing knife which civivi is pretty much known for at this point, i wonder what happened with that civivi that got recalled?

Thank you for replying to all people's comments. This or an Elementum not D2?
Elementum, imho i like the shape better on the elementum

I think some people like a knife a little smaller and it gives those people an option

You need to try the carbon fiber scales and damascus blade Ortis. 😊
Yeah that sounds amazing
I wish they made a slightly more expensive version with better steel and maybe a different handle (wood possibly)
They do! Damascus with Carbon fiber scales "real carbon" Not that g10 laminate shite! $89 bucks.
How well would this knife slice and cut thru a wild hog?
I love the Ortis. Almost as much as the Banter.
I was really debating on this knife. Looks awesome. I ended up with the QSP Hawk, strictly because I like the drop point better.
I agree about the drop point is better

If not for the FRN panels, that knife would be in my pocket on the daily.
I know what you mean, in todays knife materials being so awesome frn is out of the question for me personally

Yeah same as i feel
Is there a point at the bottom of the handle where you can hook up a lanyard?
@@vikingfury2065 no theres not
Definitely looks like an awesome budget blade. Great review 👍
I love the look of this knife!!! Reminds me of a MEAN Alligator 🐊
I agree, it totally has a gator look
I have the Damascus version of this knife. Excellent value and quality for the money. Probably my favorite knife from about the 50 that I own.

is this still your favorite knife you own? im considering buying the CIVIVI Ortis
@@dbbuster1238 go for it. Don't think you'll be disappointed. Still loving on mine.
Looks like a good knife. Been wondering about this one. I like big knives so I think that is a lot of my hesitation on this.
Yeah the dogma is basically the same thing but larger
Need a cicvii cant decide which one first
All are great
@40hecklerusp yeah we gave one away a while back in one of our gaw, incredible knife
Hard thing about Civivi is choosing one lol.I think I'm going with the praxis.

That would be awesome
That moment when the descriptions longer than the comment section (sorry if that seems mean)
The comment section would be short the video just went up
Know what you mean. Broke as could be. Someone Secret Santa my dead beat ass an Ortis, lol.
Nice looking blade style. Look better with a 5" blade!
The dogma is a bit bigger i really like the picaro with a 4"
Does the handle feel cheap?
No not really it feels a lot like benchmades frn
feels like FRN
Pretty sharp job...
Mine is in the mail !!!!!!!!!! should be here in a week
