Whilst every style of beer explained may not be all the craft beer channel may not be about, looking in to how you've been drinking beer wrong your entire life, how beer is made, brewing your first homemade beer, talking to beer experts, identifying cheap vs expensive beers, price points, and answering beer questions from brewmasters is all a part of my real ale craft beer journey. - Развлечения
Good video thanks mate. Definitely poured my first one wrong 😂. Enjoy
Haha yeah, first pour is always a bit tricky! Quickly get it nailed though - cheers!
Thanks 👍 Practice makes perfect. Cheers 🍺
Looks petty much perfect that crumble …best I’ve seen yet ….take care bud
Cheers Mark! I'm sure there's a touch more to get out of it with a bit of time, but yeah - solid start! Cheers!
The nitrosurge is definitely the best at home pint of Guinness you will get, and no doubt better than some pubs but I can't help but feel that its not quite right.
I took a 538ml can, an silver Surger Can (with surger base unit) and the Nitrosurge. Did a side-by-side pour and taste test, and reached the conclusion that there isn't much in it, provided all are poured correctly. As I write this I am halfway through a Nitrosurge can and have noticed a right twang off it, alongside the seperation of the head from the beer, something which other folk have noticed too.
I have just filmed another Guinness based video and found the same, but I may have also accidentally found a fix. I need to test it a few more times first but all being well video will be out a week today. Cheers!
Great review. 👌🏻👍🏻 I’ve tried it with the old 520ml cans which I think were more for the pub plate that gave a big head , ready to try the 558ml cans from Tesco and just managed to find and purchase some 568ml 4.2ABV cans which apparently give a little to much liquid, but allows the maximum head that you was looking for .
Gonna play with all three on Friday . Best review I’ve seen . All the best Cheers 🍻
Really appreciate the feedback! Thank you! I've got another video comparing the new "pint" cans along side the NitroSurge coming out tomorrow - no spoilers but alarming differences side-by-side!
Since found out that 568 don’t exist and I’ve found that it’s a better pour when less chilled , and the dome is much better 👍🏻🍻.
Oh . I’ve replied to my own comment from the Spencer arms lol . We are the same people lol which is good as I’ve given you two more subscriptions 😉
@@leespencermusic2453 Haha Cheers Spencer, very much appreciated!
Love my Surger I bought a spare just incase something happened to it, wish I could post pics of the 40 I poured for me and my friends on Sunday..... the Foamy Dome was something to behold 😎
That's what it's all about! Just having some fun with it and getting the best pint you can. If you haven't already check out my most recent Guinness video regarding the two-part pour. You might be in for a surprise!
@TheCrumbyBeard yeah checked it out inly difference from what I was already doing was not switching the surger on for the 2nd pour and also my pints stopped a wee bit before on the first pour but non the less excellent pints, I was a big Larger drinker with a couple of machines the Blade and the Perfect Draft.... I started drinking Guinness 02.01.23 and I haven't had a lager since love it 😎
I live in the Caribbean now and they dont sell Guinness on draft. I just bought the surge and love this method as they sell the pint draft cans but not the nitro surge cans. I will only drink Guinness, love this new trick!
It certainly does have some effect with the regular draught cans - I'd recommend actually a single pour rather than a two part as well - at least to check if it works any better - I've found some two-part pours come off watery, though it varies can-to-can. Cheers!
@@TheCrumbyBeard Awesome! Will try both
I have poured a good number of NS cans, trying different temperatures. The big difference I find from a very good pub pint is that thr NS has very little stick and when you get towards the end of thr the pint the top half of the glass is clear. It's good but of course not perfect
That is very interesting! I'm only a few cans in to my NitroSurge experience but I'll keep an eye out for that as I try a few more. Cheers!
Would be interested in your view doing the same thing with a regular can/pin prick method. Nice video fella
I've done some videos using the pin prick method now - if you search Nitrosurge on my channel anything that's not a regular Nitrosurge Can will be using that method (think there's two from memory; O'Hara's Stout and Blue Monkey's Nitro Guerrilla Stout)
Great review. I've been on the fence about it. My obriens guy told me it wasn't worth IT and I think after watching this video I have to pass on it. I've had success just inverting the widget can straight into the Guinness glass in one pour. Saw a video by the Guinness brewmaster who suggested that as one possibly.
I saw anther You Tube video where the pourer didn't invert the can as extremely as you did, and he really got a proper dome, that you were looking for, and would have loved. I've got to see if it's available in the U.S.!
I've done a lot of experimenting with it since this video and even found not doing a two-part pour to have some really interesting results! Also, the temperature of the cans can make a huge difference to the dome effect as well! Cheers!
Great video! Does the surger make a sound or vibrate or anything?
When it’s actually on (light flashing) the active part of the surger runs in pulses. There’s a very faint hum or buzz when that happens and you visually see a difference in the liquid being poured too.
Great review! I got a nitrosurge and tried it with regular Guinness cans, and it still works perfectly!!
Awesome! Yeah there's no reason that it wouldn't work with a regular can, only difference would be that more of the nitrogen is likely activated in the glass, but, based on my findings in my latest video, that might not be a bad thing! Cheers! ruclips.net/video/5nddnDDLjSY/видео.html
Frank from Bklyn Ny can I get it in NY great review
Cheers Frank! I don’t believe these are available in the USA just yet but I’d be very surprised if they don’t start selling there in the next few months. Cheers 🍻
I posted a video of the best way to pour this drink.. just pour it flat and put it into a jewellery cleaner. The difference is night and day between that and that nitrosurge thing.
How do they work? Are they like a half way house between an autoclave and a dishwasher? I just cycle fresh glasses from the dishwasher. Seems better than have washed so far
Sounds like a cap for the beer that has a nitro tap fitting for pouring beer as if you were in a pub. I take it that there is no nitrogen in the device. If this is true, be interested to see how it works with a different beer with nitro in it. I'm also surprised that its not being sold here in the USA
Yes, you're spot on. So the electronics pulse micro vibrations in to the beer as it's pouring to achieve the surge. And correct, there is no nitrogen in the device itself. In theory there's no reason it shouldn't work with any other nitro beer - I'll get my hands on some to see what happens. Wether two-part pour would be worth it for those I'm not certain. I'm sure it will arrive in the USA eventually, it's been around for a good while now in Ireland already - took some time for it to arrive in the UK.
@@TheCrumbyBeard I think the 2 part pour is not necessary. Your first pour looked good. We worth to experiment. You may also want to try on a beer that is low in carbonation. To see if you get a creamier mouthfeel from the pour.
I certainly will be experimenting with it! The two-part pour I believe is necessary on the Guinness otherwise the head becomes too large - this is why the surge turns off before the second pour - though I'll give it a go with a one-pour at some point to see exactly how it differs!
Worth buying. Better than some pub pints tbh
Completely agree!
Hahah that's for sure mate
For me the first mouthful is really nice then after a minute the head separates from the rest and it becomes a very watery pretty poor pint. Following the instructions exactly and watch plenty of reviews. Anyone else having the same and any solutions?
The biggest issues I’m aware of are temperature and how settled the can is. Try and get them at least 4c cold and not to move the van around too much before pouring. It’s also possible that there’s some discrepancies between cans.
Nah mate, forget the surge device, take the can and do a 2 stage pour 😬🤣
I thought your favoured method was a two part pour after violent shaking the can? 😜
Easily the best pint of Guinness at home, need to go to a remote pub in the sticks of Ireland to get he 'perfect pint'
Absolutely, I’ve had far worse in pubs and far better. The nitrosurge for me so far has at least been pretty decent and consistent! Cheers 🍻
Probably put that down to a gimmick Crumby tbh, though I don’t think I’ve ever bought a can of Guinness so… just gadget curiosity brought me to the vid.
Absolutely fair and entirely understandable. Pure curiosity is the first reaction for most on this thing - however, if you do enjoy Guinness, I think there's a genuine advantage over a regular can for this system once you get your eye in with it. It has also won a number of very genuine tech and innovation awards, so it feels like more than just a cash grab. It took them a while to bring it to other countries for some reason, so feels like it's becoming a refined system.
The gentleman that invented the device has a video on YT. He indicated that you should have the device off for the second pour. In turn this recreates the tap push forward you would get from the pub.
How did I miss when they animated the ACkHSkChUAlLLLLYYyY meme guy?
If you're wondering about the head, the size is largely determined by the temperature of the beer. Warmer will produce a bigger head and cooler a smaller one.
Oh now that is interesting - noted, will try with a slightly warmer can next time. Cheers!
Frank from Bklyn Ny I think you can use it on any can
Hi Frank, it will fit on any can for sure! How good the resulting pour would be from a non-nitrogen can though I am not sure.
You can hack it by putting a pin in any widget can and it will work
Certainly can! (Pardon the pun) I've done a video on this using a O'Hara's Nitro Stout. Cheers!
This seems like the most unnecessary product ever, LOL. Did you ever hear that Stephen Wilson song "Personal Shopper"? This product should've mentioned in that song. lol
Haha! So I tell you what, it does work - or at least psychologically it does - I did a blind tasting to determine and err, well. Yeah. 😂 However, I've since tried using it without doing a two-part pour as you saw in my other video and that is certainly an improvement! Cheers!
Poor pour gets you poor domeage.
Witchcraft
Beery magic indeed!
Put it in the bin draught Guinness good if not better than nitro surge , kings new clothes me thinks 🙈🙈🙈🙈
Could well be! Got a NitroSurge vs Draught can video coming tomorrow to find out for certain. Cheers!
I'm finding it's a toss up. I feel like the surge is giving me a better pint but I might just be imagining it lol
Sorry but you completely ignored the pouring instructions, the three part first pour, you just tipped it up past the horizontal and went for it in one. I was looking for a bit of added value.
Your supposed to go past the horizontal to get a smooth pour without bubbles
I was just quoting the actual instructions, 3 part poor - 1st horizontal, 2. above horizontal, 3 even more above horizontal. My point was really if your going to do a video on pouring the drink - at least follow the Guiness instructions.@@ANON29421
First time trying this, and on 3 cans so far. The head is full of bubbles though for each one.
Hmm, some cans do just seem to be less able to produce a good pint than others. Try getting the cans colder if possible, that often helps with nitro conditioning.
@@TheCrumbyBeard Thanks! I'll try that. Love your channel 👍
@@dontmesswithcrows cheers! Much appreciated! 🍻
