the only reason people have made this mod is for people that arent wealthy enough to buy a vr headset. i have played both versions. vr imo is just not good enough yet
Alyx never holds the pistol with one hand only during the events of HL2 and episodes, maybe they could patch hit so she holds the pistol with both hands.

I would say I like both the presets about the same, but the game definitely needs one of them. Almost seems like newer games benefit more from Reshade than older ones.

@@devonmarr9872 Honestly you have no idea what are you talking about. I guess you never used RTGI shader, or you don't know how to use that properly. You can never get similar results with Depth Map based and non DMB shaders. You can't imitate ambient occlusion or bounce lighting (even if it's screeen-space based) with levels and ambientlight shaders. That's just funny 😄
@screenreel of course you can't! But the visuals presented here are really not that drastic at all and do not show ssrtgi as a huge bonus to the visuals, in this particular game and implementation. As someone who lives and breathes through reshade in every sp game I do know what I'm talking about.

Maybe you like presets with everused AO and BL, when it looks ok for one scene and it looks like dog shait in other scene, well I don't. If you can't see really balanced AO and BL here I can't help you. But again you can never get similar effects with levels, AL and shaders like that, It sounds funny from the guy who is breathing with reshade. I don't wanna talk about my reshade experience😉

The visual gain shown in your vid can be accomplished with levels adjustments to get 90% of the way there for far far less of a performance impact. Your ghost of tsushima videos for instance do show a huge improvement with ssrtgi. Just kot in this title.
@@devonmarr9872 with levels adjustments, man it's funny, seriously. I'm also creating Non-RTGI presets and I know how to get effective results with proper shader combos. But I have to say it again you cant get similar results without SSRTGI for this or other games. What can I say about GoT results. It depends on: game engine, game lighting, etc. that's how it works if you wanna get good balanced results. In some cases you can push harder with SSRTGI,s AO, BL, IBL, etc.

Amazing game in VR and of course VR is more realistic (not "photo" realistic) than anything on a flat screen, RT or not.
Agreed, playing games in 3D will always be more realistic than 2D regardless of graphical fidelity.

Half-Life is a legendary all-time classic. Boosteroid made it easy to jump back into this incredible game. Highly recommended!

Playing games in vr is really magical bro. And the quest 2 just went down to 200 and you can find it even cheaper used. It’s actually really worth it.
Buy a VR set, and resell it once you're done.

Honestly a levels and ambient light reshade adjustment would not impact performance at all and provide similar results.
