You've gotta remember that Respawn was made up of ex-COD devs when it was first founded and these people were probably the ones that made both Tf games. But those are mostly gone now
Respawn has two development teams. After Titan Fall 2 the studio got split into two. The people who did the multiplayer of TF1 and TF2 got split to go off and do Apex Legends. In developing TF2 which had a campaign when TF1 didn't they had to hire people to create a single player game, those people went on to do Fallen Order and Survivor since Apex Legends wouldn't have a campaign and be pure multiplayer. The writers are still there, just with the other team. But who knows whats up with that team, EA forcing Respawn to push Survivor out the door before it was ready caused all sorts of problems.
The biggest disappointment is that even if they release titanfall 3 somehow it will most likely be a flaming pile of dogshit with zero content and tons of skins, and fans will be absolutely angry
we don't really know that, and titanfall 2 already had not much content and it was very good, the thing is we are now used to content every week, it wasn't like that back then

Now apex, other than the same universe, has no other similarity to the rest of the titanfall franchise or its lore. either it literally has no lore connected to the past or they retcon the old lore to fit new apex characters backstory
Honestly the supposed "open-world" L4D3 wouldn't have really been L4D at that point, it's one of the only games I don't regret being cancelled. L4D2 really is just L4D1 with new mechanics, and honestly adding more onto that would ruin the "complex simplicity" that I really enjoy in those games. The best we could've gotten would've been new characters and campaigns, but adding more campaigns would somewhat devalue the existing ones and new campaigns are already accessible through the workshop (just not exactly on par with valve quality most of the time). We really kind of have L4D3 already, L4D is a finished, whole game.
Bad decisions catch up to people sooner than later- BR is running into death rattles (look at how Fortnut is distancing itself from the genre, PUBG basically died and Warzone attempts to mix in less BR mechanics aka stuff like Lockdown which is just MP with extra steps). My opinion- Respawn as it was is over, and the respawn that is now has missed the mark when they could have refocused on Titanfall. They rewrote the established cannon of what started them so many times now that they basically tied an anchor to themselves and are willingly sinking and fans of "old Respawn" are foolishly hoping they will cut off the weight and swim back up. In addition- they are basically directly under AAA publisher, which clips wings imediately because this chained studio is way too known to allow them to do risky things. Gaming's Hollywood has indie devs picked on roadsides for risk (and even then it's usually one or two games before they dispose of them because they rock the boat too much)
long story short: the frontier wars started because the IMC abandoned the frontier, so the colonies stop paying taxes and the IMC didnt like that at all

@triadwarfare think about dmc versus devil may cry. Same characters, same game universe, and its even made by the same company, yet not only did dmc retcon the majority of the lore, but also completely switched the personalities of the characters. Using ash, and even blisk, you know that the characters aren't how they were in the titanfall games, and yet you only sum it up to the cop out that is "alternate in game universes". I personally like stories involving alternate universes and timelines, but at the same time, it's becoming more clear that this excuse is being used as a way to try to defend the poor writing that respawn is doing

If by alien legends you mean legends which are not from earth, then pretty much every legend is an alien legend.(assuming you are talking about the legends in apex, check the bio tab for each legend, it will show their home planet.)
I’ll never forgive Apex for taking a MASSIVE and truly COLOSSAL universe and minimizing it into effectively an arena. Yes I know there are locations elsewhere that are important but we don’t see them. TF1/2 showed us so many unique locations with lore tied to them.
Assuming how Respawn is now, Titanfall 3 will never live up to Titanfall 2 or even Titanfall. They cannot make a loadout system for apex, their maps are no longer ‘realistic’ or even good, took them a whole year to make a single new tdm map, and still haven’t added another tdm mode in a whole year.
I don't think so, they still know how to do great games, you can see it on the star wars games, is only Apex the game they are fucking up with for some reason, so I¡m sure if they made titanfall 3 with the same love they make the star wars games it will be good, they also have a base they made in the 10 months titanfall 3 was in development
As a Ex-Game Tester of Respawn with my tongue tied due to paperwork. There's a lot I want to correct, but the one thing I can correct is the Golden Ticket aka Apex Ticket. You get the Apex Ticket, you're invited to the Apex "Pack" Faction. You can accept it or leave it. The ticket during in TitanFall 2 is the same ticket Apex Legends. Blisk is the boss. If he thinks your skills are good enough for his needs. You're invited, Plain and simple. I have more to say, but I'm not gonna risk it.

In effect and cause, you can see people in cryo-freeze chambers, we can assume they’re the colony prisoners. However in the present after the arc exploded there all the corpses are revealed to be rotten and mangled. They could’ve expanded more on this but at least we got a reference to its planned parts. Edit: This is also a further nod to one of the missions audio logs where General Marder where he directly references that the IMS Odyssey’s colonists are being experimented on and that soon they will find out about the arcs long lasting effects on organic matter and brain function. It never got to that yet it seems however we found out anyways after the arc exploded, and on those same colonists.
Personally, I wanna see blisk return to being the "owner" of the apex games after Silva died in the most recent lore with revenant and gang. Who knows, maybe he eventually will be a playable legend
I think if they just made titanfall 2 multiplayer have new updates like new titans, pilots, and weapons. I think the community would be in heaven for good year. Edit they could also have new playable story episodes released every so often that could build to titanfall 3 if they want to.
I'll be honest. I thing doing that might make the code base too bad to be worth putting any effort into. Remember that we're dealing with a modified Source branch. There's already jank. Although it might make us not wana shrivel up and die.
I just want Titanfall 3 to be Titanfall 2 with more content, and a new campaign. I really hope that if this game ever gets made they don't try to make it super cartoony like Apex and have passives and ults. I just want bland soldiers with one ability and a normal person that isn't overly exaggerated as the story protagonist.
Exactly bro. I hate all these annoying legends with waaayyyyyy too much personality. I liked when every character was just a soldier with a little bit of personality shining through. In an actual war soldiers wont be dropping stupid one liners all the time. The only apex legends personality I like is pathfinder. I miss looking at my titanfall character and not being reminded how diverse and inclusive respawn is for putting every race and gender in the game like with apex.
It'll never be crazy to me how EA/Respawn just threw away one of the best FPS series and one of the best space opera sci-fi settings and even just mecha-design settings in recent history.
Honestly it’s been that long, that disappointing and filled with that much eye opening events regarding Respawn’s mentality that… I don’t want a new TF anymore. TF|2 was and still is my favourite game… but I can’t say I like Respawn enough to trust em to be able to wow me with a new TF anymore… And I get that some like Apex, and I guess kudos if you do… but not all of us like BRs, not all of us like how Respawn decided to abandon their roots for a BR… and all these teasers and attempts to bring TF fans into Apex with these references and Easter eggs… i guess for me it’s just a slap in the face.
The sad thing is most the main developers have left so the story just wouldn’t be the same unless they made another game company but then the template wouldn’t be like titanfall

Grrt I just want to say that I love your videos about Titanfall. I've been a huge Titanfall fan for a long time and its made me sad to see it die. I didn't really play alot of Apex because it just made me miss the wall-running and the titans, although I like the characters of Apex and think its a cool game. It's great to see that you are both a fan of Apex and Titanfall, and I really appreciate the way that you talk about the Titanfall series with such respect. I am really hoping we get a game from Respawn that would tie Apex and Titanfall together more and make both fanbases happy.
@@tothewin5388 Exactly! It’s funny because Call of Duty is able to do this. They provide content for people who like the Battle Royal mode, and they make new campaigns (even if they suck) and they have classic multiplayer. It’s not exactly a hard thing to do but Respawn still seems to struggle.

The mentality of the devs behind Titanfall 3 is the same about Half Life 3 They want to do something "revolutionary" and not something that will "disappoint the fans" I truly believe that all the canceling is the thing that will fuel the greater disappointment at the end of it all, because even if they had just released a "just good" game people would have liked it but since they more or less hyped the players then drop the ball to re hyped the players to do it all over again, if the game isn't mind breaking people will just lashes out on to the devs
I think Titanfall 3 might happen as unlikely as it sounds. Looking at current gamers' responses to AAA titles many are done with publishers' bullshit, such as serving the same game wrapped in a tinfoil of good graphics (looking at Ubisoft right here). In the past few years, the best games were single-player sometimes including multiplayer or coop experience. The success of Elden Ring opened eyes to many studios that even niche genres like Souls Like can hit mainstream if they are well executed (and pissed off many devs from Ubisoft). Additionally Helldivers 2 overnight success points to gamers wanting high-octane gameplay which TF provided very well but on a smaller scale. I think the "perfect time" for the rise of TF3 is coming quickly and I hope to see Respawn capitalise on this with a well-executed project.
Even tho I really really really want titanfall 3, I don’t want it too, because I know for a fact that if titanfall 3 came out it’ll go down the cash grab route, most likely release half finished and have too many bundles, it would go against everything the og did right
Lil addendum to the "Only times scrapped content made it into merchandise": That could be its own video, because it happens surprisingly often. Merch, especially action figures and such, have to be designed, molded, produced and shipped close to release date, or slightly before, to bank on that initial hype. So the toy makers often use early design documents and artwork to make these. Especially back in the day where games didn't take quite as long to make as they do now and you didn't have the internet to send information like design documents, models and such in the blink of an eye. This means that a lot of toys have features or details that were later scrapped in development or never realized. One example I can think of is that Soul Reaver had 3 toys: Raziel, Kane and Dumah, who is a late boss. In game he is wearing a helmet that hides his true face, but on the action figure you can take it off and see his mutated vampire face, and the art director for the game later revealed that that's his canon face.

Imagine a multiplayer game that is like the mixtape mode but it’s with pilots. (1. They wouldn’t have to add titan mechancis. 2. They could add a new engine and use older models and revamp some. 3. Development can be done faster than the time it took for Apex Legends. 4. It could be incorporated into Apex like Warzone where you can choose either Warzone or campaign (in apex’s case: Apex or Pilot PVP). 5 it could be a paid mode.)
Its probably similat to what Half-life is doing. Every Half-life game was 'ground breaking' or 'innovative' so they don't want to make another game without some new tech comign out. The thing is that they did have new tech for tf3, but they said that it would have been a much better version of tf2 which was okay since tf2 was already a masterpiece.
The sad part is I hate apex. I actually find it shit. I hate BRs in general. Titanfall was all about skill. You kill me, you're betta... vibes. Apex is "you kill me, you got luckier loot" and I hate that. I gave up hope on titanfall 3 but if it ever were to happen, I'd suit up again. I loved the high skill ceiling and crispness that apex just does not have. I'll never play it again.

However in the present after the arc exploded there all the corpses are revealed to be rotten and mangled. They could’ve expanded more on this but at least we got a reference to its planned parts.
Edit: This is also a further nod to one of the missions audio logs where General Marder where he directly references that the IMS Odyssey’s colonists are being experimented on and that soon they will find out about the arcs long lasting effects on organic matter and brain function. It never got to that yet it seems however we found out anyways after the arc exploded, and on those same colonists.

I think if they just made titanfall 2 multiplayer have new updates like new titans, pilots, and weapons. I think the community would be in heaven for good year. Edit they could also have new playable story episodes released every so often that could build to titanfall 3 if they want to.

I just want Titanfall 3 to be Titanfall 2 with more content, and a new campaign. I really hope that if this game ever gets made they don't try to make it super cartoony like Apex and have passives and ults. I just want bland soldiers with one ability and a normal person that isn't overly exaggerated as the story protagonist.
Exactly bro. I hate all these annoying legends with waaayyyyyy too much personality. I liked when every character was just a soldier with a little bit of personality shining through. In an actual war soldiers wont be dropping stupid one liners all the time. The only apex legends personality I like is pathfinder. I miss looking at my titanfall character and not being reminded how diverse and inclusive respawn is for putting every race and gender in the game like with apex.
It'll never be crazy to me how EA/Respawn just threw away one of the best FPS series and one of the best space opera sci-fi settings and even just mecha-design settings in recent history.

Honestly it’s been that long, that disappointing and filled with that much eye opening events regarding Respawn’s mentality that… I don’t want a new TF anymore. TF|2 was and still is my favourite game… but I can’t say I like Respawn enough to trust em to be able to wow me with a new TF anymore…
And I get that some like Apex, and I guess kudos if you do… but not all of us like BRs, not all of us like how Respawn decided to abandon their roots for a BR… and all these teasers and attempts to bring TF fans into Apex with these references and Easter eggs… i guess for me it’s just a slap in the face.

Not really, as steve fukuda is still there. He is the game director of both titanfalls and very early back in the earl 2010s cod like modern warfare 1 and 2. I'm sure he could cook up something.

Grrt I just want to say that I love your videos about Titanfall. I've been a huge Titanfall fan for a long time and its made me sad to see it die. I didn't really play alot of Apex because it just made me miss the wall-running and the titans, although I like the characters of Apex and think its a cool game. It's great to see that you are both a fan of Apex and Titanfall, and I really appreciate the way that you talk about the Titanfall series with such respect. I am really hoping we get a game from Respawn that would tie Apex and Titanfall together more and make both fanbases happy.

@@tothewin5388 Exactly! It’s funny because Call of Duty is able to do this. They provide content for people who like the Battle Royal mode, and they make new campaigns (even if they suck) and they have classic multiplayer. It’s not exactly a hard thing to do but Respawn still seems to struggle.

I really dislike how they keep changing and disappearing the lore of Titanfall. Like a pilot would not have been killed by a grunt aka Bangalore and her brother. When a pilot is the best of the best and only another pilot and kill one. And how ash is somehow alive after killing her and the Lstar being a experimental weapon when it’s not at all they should have just put apex in a different dimension which they might have done with the other wraith

The mentality of the devs behind Titanfall 3 is the same about Half Life 3
They want to do something "revolutionary" and not something that will "disappoint the fans"
I truly believe that all the canceling is the thing that will fuel the greater disappointment at the end of it all, because even if they had just released a "just good" game people would have liked it but since they more or less hyped the players then drop the ball to re hyped the players to do it all over again, if the game isn't mind breaking people will just lashes out on to the devs
At this point, just sell the ip to a studio that might actually realize the gold mine they have on their hands.

I think Titanfall 3 might happen as unlikely as it sounds. Looking at current gamers' responses to AAA titles many are done with publishers' bullshit, such as serving the same game wrapped in a tinfoil of good graphics (looking at Ubisoft right here). In the past few years, the best games were single-player sometimes including multiplayer or coop experience. The success of Elden Ring opened eyes to many studios that even niche genres like Souls Like can hit mainstream if they are well executed (and pissed off many devs from Ubisoft). Additionally Helldivers 2 overnight success points to gamers wanting high-octane gameplay which TF provided very well but on a smaller scale. I think the "perfect time" for the rise of TF3 is coming quickly and I hope to see Respawn capitalise on this with a well-executed project.

Lil addendum to the "Only times scrapped content made it into merchandise": That could be its own video, because it happens surprisingly often.
Merch, especially action figures and such, have to be designed, molded, produced and shipped close to release date, or slightly before, to bank on that initial hype. So the toy makers often use early design documents and artwork to make these. Especially back in the day where games didn't take quite as long to make as they do now and you didn't have the internet to send information like design documents, models and such in the blink of an eye. This means that a lot of toys have features or details that were later scrapped in development or never realized.
One example I can think of is that Soul Reaver had 3 toys: Raziel, Kane and Dumah, who is a late boss. In game he is wearing a helmet that hides his true face, but on the action figure you can take it off and see his mutated vampire face, and the art director for the game later revealed that that's his canon face.
The first shotgun from TFO is an early concept for the Mozambique, the next one is a concept for the later aired Mastiff

Imagine a multiplayer game that is like the mixtape mode but it’s with pilots. (1. They wouldn’t have to add titan mechancis. 2. They could add a new engine and use older models and revamp some. 3. Development can be done faster than the time it took for Apex Legends. 4. It could be incorporated into Apex like Warzone where you can choose either Warzone or campaign (in apex’s case: Apex or Pilot PVP). 5 it could be a paid mode.)

The thing is that they did have new tech for tf3, but they said that it would have been a much better version of tf2 which was okay since tf2 was already a masterpiece.
The sad part is I hate apex. I actually find it shit. I hate BRs in general. Titanfall was all about skill. You kill me, you're betta... vibes. Apex is "you kill me, you got luckier loot" and I hate that.
I gave up hope on titanfall 3 but if it ever were to happen, I'd suit up again. I loved the high skill ceiling and crispness that apex just does not have. I'll never play it again.
