I love mine. Extremely light, comfortable and super easy to take on and off. Not to mention it’s probably the most complemented watch I have.
Which one did you pick?
That exactly what ive been saying! Lol. So much hate on these watches that is not deserved.
Got my Jupiter almost a year ago and I almost never take it off , it is still looking great .
Is it waterproof?
@@kfox13 yes , 3 bars
Yes, Swatch does offer replacement MoonSwatch straps in three different sizes although the straps can be difficult to get. Keep up the great work!!
I have the original Omega moon watch that i got as a gift from my grandfather 24 years ago. I just bought the mission to mercury to compliment my Omega to wear as an everyday watch and very happy with it.
Managed to get the Earth, the Moon and the Sun here in Honolulu. Got lucky and got Mercury in Tokyo last November. And the best part was I paid $230 because of the exchange rate in Japan. Like them all, won't wear them but like you I just feel that it's not worth $260. Who knows?
I love my moon swatch in particular because of how many salty haters are in the comments of every RUclips video talking about how they would never buy one.
I could pass on any of the others but the black ceramic case on the Mercury is so awesome. I know for a fact I'm never going to drop $10k on a dark side of the moon so this was really a no-brainer for me.
You could have dropped 250 bucks for a beautiful high quality chronograph watch from Seiko, Accurist (retro racer), Bulova, even Timex...instead of this trashy disposable piece of plastic...
@@LeChristEstRoi You could have kept your opinions to yourself.
It's a great buy! I am also looking for a Mercury since a while.
The MoonSwatch is a Swatch, but it's great looking watch. It's still one of the most desirable watch on the market.
The straps are fine in my opinion, no need to change them on my MoonSwatch (Jupiter, Pluto, and Earth).
Get one of the clones for $20-30. Better movement, and some have metal caseback.
Do not, I repeat, do not buy a Swatch Moonswatch. They are a complete waste of money.
I have seen that it's the most derided, not most desired, and with good reason. Sad that people fell for it, but at least the scarcity gave the watch community time to wake up to the ripoff.
I'm a young software developer, hell yeah! I bought a mission to the moon, one day I will buy the real deal.
Picked one up as I curiously entered a store in the mall that had one. Upon taking it home and trying it on, it feels cheap and for me it’ll just be a novelty piece that sits in a box. I guess you get what you pay for.
My enthusiasm has dimmed since I stood on line for five hours unsuccessfully. Knowing they’re now available, I can’t say I’d like one, although you’ve got me pondering. Nice review. Thank!
What do you mean they are available?
May depend on location but it’s not so simple as “just walk into a store”. Most stores in NY remain sold out. I happened upon one in Grand Central that just got a shipment and lines already were forming.
little late to the convo but stopped by grand central terminal location today - they had every model except Neptune and Mars, they even said they get Mars and Mercury in almost every day
Honest episode. I swore I wouldn’t buy one, Swatch pop up store was at a mall here in Scottsdale and of course I bought one. I feel bad & good 😂 - Aaron
I'd buy if they were priced at what they're worth, but then again I'd rather save that £10 for something else. 😂
Yeah, because 6 figure watches are worth are worth their value
Superb comment!😂
@@n1knak Well at least if you spend 6 figures you won't have some mass produced poor quality cheap plastic cr*p on your wrist champ..😉
@@legionnairegonk4425 on a scale of value to price a MoonSwatch is far superior than these RMs and APs that have plummeted in price.
- No one will rob you for it
- The price is so low (comparatively) that you can use it completely carefree
- It will never require a service
- You will only have to reset the quartz movement monthly for the most accurate reading and don’t need to worry about a power reserve
- A tight control of supply still gives the watch a sense of exclusivity
The fact that people are currently paying up to a grand for the latest release only proves the point that the swatch and omega collaboration still has the industry on its knees. Personally this latest release is pathetic and lacks innovation. Swatch should’ve gone the premium route and upped the price and released a metal and glass model, even if it was just for the day. But guess what - scarcity sells
😂😂😂😂
Hi Chris, I agree with you in that the Mercury is the nicest of the collection. Also, good point that you mentioned that it reminds of the Dark Side of the moon. Originally I wanted the Moon, and bought it, but I stood with the Mercury and use it more often than the Moon. For me it is a fun watch, keeps time well and has a great design. Never had a problem. The strap is not durable, but other than that I like it overall. I would not pay over retail for it, but I enjoy using it.
What people are forgetting is watches for men is a fashion accessory. I have a seiko automatic, passed down tudor and longine, and considering getting an actual omega. But for the love of god a legit omega costs an arm and a leg and i dont know if i want to really spend that much on a fashion accessory.
I do agree swatch omega is overpriced a bit but at the same time its one of a kind that assimilate omega, since swatch company owns omega. Yes its not automatic but soemtimes i preder quartz due to the fact i have to keep setting my automatic watches everytime and it gets annoying
Honest opinion from a normal guy who likes a cool watch. I’ve owned my Mercury for about 6 months. It’s comfortable and eye catching. I’ve gotten a lot of compliments on it. Let’s face it, that’s why we wear cool watches, for the compliments. It keeps great time also🤓
we have the same choice 😊 i wonder if the body will endure the replacement of the top glass/plastic to a sapphire one?
Not sure that has been done yet would be great! Thanks for the comment
I paid 100 over msrp and bought a 20 dollar strap and the thing is awesome. Best looking inexpensive watch
If you're new to the game, yes. My Speedies are from the 1960s, the moon years, when as an 8 year old I looked in disbelief at the moon landing, like in a dream. These 1960s Speedies bring the dream back. No 2020s watch can do that.
The mercury and the moon do look the best. I am just thinking if they so a seamaster version that would be so amazing
They obviously look great (and the Mercury was the one I would've purchased, along with the Neptune), but it's lipstick on a pig. The price for those materials is simply outrageous, and what's the point of purchasing a watch you can't wear since the crystal scratches so easily. They're a definite no go for me. Obviously Swatch doesn't care; they're selling out and the profit margins on these must be crazy. It's a shame because it's a fantastic idea and it'd be a seriously cool watch with just some better materials.
It's funny that the fake Ali Express version was better quality. Chinese knockoff makers can't replicate the crap feel of "bioceramic".
If they made a seamaster moonswatch that would be sick. I know a lot of people hate on these but I’m in my early 20s and my friends and I that like watches love these because we can get the omega branding on a watch.
Recently learned about the Bulova lunar pilot. I think it’s a better buy.
Much better buy and not plastic
Unfortunately a bit large even if they reduced the size lately. Not to mention the one that went to the Moon was highly modified. Still a much better watch than the MoonSwatch.
I bought the first Lunar Pilot and then also the 50th Anniversary edition, which is particularly nice, in Grade 5 Titanium. Comes handsomely boxed with a commemorative coin and pays solid respect to the significance of the watch, rather than some cheaply built plastic money grab. Both were great buys, plus actually available online,
I finally got one in switzerland last week as they are hard to find still at my 1 swatch store thats near. Having worn it for over a week now i like it alot keeps perfect time looks cool and you can see people notice it is it worth asking price ehh i dunno but they sell for over asking on ebay
I bought one and the top pusher broke after a week, i really like the design and colors but i want a watch not a toy or collector item.
Yea, it’s a hard no for me. I’d rather buy a $50 Casio everyday beater. 🤷🏼♂️
Got it for below 200 bucks now on ebay, happy with it. People went crazy and paid up to like 600 bucks for these
I love your watch and your review! Your frank and detailed review helped me a lot!!
I walked by the Swatch store in NYNY in Las Vegas this weekend, and they had all eleven in a collector case in the window.
Couldn’t be bothered to go in and look. 😅
Blue case, white handles? Not functioning watches. Display purposes only.
@@Tourist1967 of course they are functional watches, do you really think they would spend EXTRA MONEY on making them not run, they are plastic tat and I bet cost under a dollar to make, the only way they would make them non working watches would be to take the battery out simple
@@ChrisJones-ki2bx Look, saw the same display. Went into the Swatch shop and enquired. The assistant said they had none in stock. I pointed out they had every version in the window. That's when he told me they were only shells. Not uncommon, these days, apparently. Even Rolex does it. Discourages theft too. And how can you be sure watches in a city far away are functioning? And does it cost "extra money" not to put in a movement? Silly man.
i bought seven of them and change all of the straps, looks young and casual
Which strap ?
@@JihelJay omega strap from toaboa 😅
After watching your video, I checked the New York New York Vegas store. I was able to get the Earth and Saturn. My wife bought the Earth for me. I've already given up. Thanks!
Nice video, thanks for that! In my opinion the watch reminds me on the original: No automatic, no suitable for everyday use water resistance and too expensive for what you get! Ok, I have to admit that I´m not an Omega fanboy
I get your point, Moonwatch was my grail watch, but after a while I'we found it bit boring and outdated, the Speedmaster racing panda version is its new successor, checks off the automatic movement and wearable dimensions, price wise still better than rolly tho, their price for what you get (let's be honest, you will probably not even get, if we are speaking about Daytona) is incomparably worse and the heritage is just absent, diver in the other hand...
Chris...Swatch will gladly supply you with a display box for other watches they sell .... just ask .... change the strap for a grey / black striped Nato... looks very good on my M2M... and look online for crystal protector for your watch....most of all...enjoy this fun interpretation of the legendary Speedmaster 👍
Id buy one just to crack it open and slip it into a pagani moonwatch case.
I also had to ate my words when I passed the swatch store in my city and I just bought it when I found out it was available 😂
The title of the video is misleading I thought I would be able to buy one on the Swatch website.
Question for you are you going to sell your Zelos meteorite 41mm Black tip you just reviewed? If not it’s ok it doesn’t hurt to ask.
Let me know I’m serous
Which swatch store in New York did you go to for this?
They’re not selling these anywhere near me
Should you? No.
Common Israeli L, BBC’s of this, I am buying it
I went to a store to look at one, never was so disappointed before. The thing is tiny as hell and plastic rubbish. It’s a real children watch
ur opinion is invalid with that shitty pro pic
Omega on my wrist go brrrrrr
I think 100 dollars should be the max for this. I'm happy the strap can at least be replaced. I only wear mine once every few weeks. I have the mission to moon and mercury. I like the Jupiter but I will not sacrifice legality on a watch. The moon and mercury are the only two that have good contrast on hands.
I have the exact same fake from Aliexpress and at the price paid ... this is a very good watch 😀😀
I want the Mission to March... I think they totally right to sell only on store, it makes special, and it contains a crazy second hand market
Mission to march?
Available this month only
@@jonathanberwick4473 😂😂😂
@@e28forever30 my mistake...
Like it... but i got a metal swatch instead... and it was a bit less $$
Still a no for me because they don't interest me, not to mention the 1500 miles to the nearest Swatch store.
I bought one too but needs little weight to it.
That IWC is really something else, i look forward to that video.
There's a new Bulova Lunar Pilot with a 43mm case. This is a quality watch with actual moon-related provenance. With this BLP readily available why on earth would anyone opt for this Swatch-Omega plastic toy?
Swatch indeed is selling the strap but only comes in small or large size. The default medium size is not available for the time being due to its demand to be used for the watch set.
Can't decide if that's an expensive cheap watch or a cheap expensive watch.
etsy has some really nice knock off Omega branded deployment straps and such that are really affordable
Shouldn’t the 60 line up with the 12? Slightly to the left
I was looking into one until I saw the super poor quality of the watch in your video. Thanks, saved me a few hundred bucks.
The watch is ok, but the customers' expectations are unjustified. You still don't buy a speedmaster. The price is a bit high, but you can add it to your collection of strange watches.
For a while now, you could nuy them every mondday mornng in Flagships in Poland. But You should never. You should get a GSHOCK and monetarily thank me for the advice :)
The Chinese Corguet company have done their own version of the Speedmaster for a long time,it has a far better movement a seiko VK series so it works more like a mechanical chrono.the price is way cheaper and with a stainless case it beats Swatch hands down. For a bit less than the Swatcg I bought a pristine Bulova Lunar Pilot which has far more cachet...........................................
This is the color I would've purchased if I had any interest in going halfway across a continent to get it. Looks nice, but the news that it's not even an acrylic crystal puts me off the watch permanently. Everyone has their own parameters, but to me that's just insulting, given the price.
Oh this is funny... Turns there's a Swatch store like 10-odd minutes from me, in our world famous absurdly big shopping mall. I *know* I checked when these first released, with no luck. Maybe they expanded the locations recently. Still probably won't buy one, but maybe I'll at least go look at them...
Im from Romania, this watch sells for 560 euro on an online shop here..:)))) no thx...i love my pagani design speedmaster who looks almost the same with the Omega one..and it has saphire glass and stainless steel case and bracelet + Seiko movement :P
Visited the Swatch store in Time Square. They have all the moonswatches for sale. These things pretty to look at but garbage to wear. Collect and leave on box as collector items.
I wish they inundate/flood The market with these things and then that should take care of the scalpers on eBay
Still a NO for me.
Swatch killed if for me after doing the bait & switch in regards to being able to buy them on their website. I'm not traveling 500+ miles to buy a piece of plastic.
And no you can’t just buy one; unless you are at the few stores in us. Why put that in title? Clickbait. When they go online then you can buy one if you wanted to. Still have all the flippers, read gougers on the Bay. Own a real speedy, thought about getting one just to have in collection, but not going to if I can’t online. Not driving 800 miles hoping they have one to buy.
Hi Chris, you're talking about a sticker for the Tachmeter, a shity strap and it's not a durable everyday watch.... That says enough. I keep my money for a much better watch...
In short, I say no. Keep them in the store. I wanted one first time around, but know I realised it’s just hype.
Hey, if they sold 1 million they obviously knew what they were doing, but not for me, I'm afraid.
Yea... I'm sure they will sell a lot more...
Lol I just ordered a Pagani Alaska Project for $86 instead of a Moonswatch.
I'd go rep if I really wanted one.
My parents told me if I have nothing nice to say then say nothing 😂
I have absolutely nothing to say about this then.
Never will i ever buy one. The quality does not equal the price. Would buy instead cw dune!
The whole watch won’t last if you never used it I still doubt it would work in 30 years even if it did would probably be brittle
I'm going to sound like a hater here, but I have to say that the dial printing is horrid on this example. I would expect a lot better at the price they are asking for these things.
Do you think these will increase in value???
Good videos btw 😊😊
When Seagull and Sugess make better mechanical and automatic watches and Chronos for around the same price and the quality is beyond compare. I’d rather buy the Bulova Lunar pilot . Point is NO don’t purchase a Moonswatch
Every time someone says MoonSwatch, I feel a little nauseous. What a piece of junk.
Even the Pagani design look like a Rolex, but I wouldn’t wear one, not even it was free.
I see a snoopy coming
I won't buy one...even with buzzwords like "bioceramic". People are easily taken in by a good story. How long will these cases take to breakdown in a landfill?
I would give it 100 bucks, max....
No hate on Swatch-I’ll leave the MoonSwatch for the Muggles.
Bought a Pagani homage instead
There are much better ways to spend my watch budget. I'm not at all interested in owing one of these. I just don't understand the hype.
Does it not look good though?
Yes it doesnt
@@nathanaelsmith3553 i think if 007 Daniel Craig is wearing them to award shows I’ll take his word over a RUclips comment
@@MrGetItDone7 unless Swatch paid him to? I don't think there is a square cm of his body that isn't prime influencer real estate. Daniel Craig could afford to wear a real Omega, so not sure why he would choose to wear the naff Swach-a-like. But hey, maybe he does genuinely like it. Good for him. I'm not judging. It just looks crappy and cheap to me. Because it kind of is. People complain that it is overpriced and not durable. But why would Daniel Craig care? He's loaded. If he wears it more than once I'd be surprised. But I can kind of dig it in a trashy post modern ironic pop-art sort of way. But I wouldn't buy one because of the poor build quality. It is an iconic design though and few people can afford the real deal. I expect people just wear it as an occasional watch. Swatch is kind of a fashion brand.
A bit sad that common sense is so easily tossed aside, especially for a watch guy who knows they are junk watches, shoved into the market under deceptive tactics. Then again, that's what Swatch is counting on, and they are sure reaping the profits. Pretty disgusting, really, for the Swatch Group. A disappointment, for sure.
For 20£ yes.
Still not available online, so they still lied.
Two? Chris...
They see you coming all the way from the moon, if you buy one of these pieces of landfill.
The Chinese watches are cheaper and better specs than usual.
Makes the original look like plastic.
It's crazy but true.
Better quality from China.
Bioharzard blue is one that stands out.
Really not worth even 50 bucks, I don't see what's the big deal here, except the Speedy look.
Mission to Bankruptcy
Unless you're buying it as a gift for a 12-year old, no. And even if you are, no.
Its the sort of watch Buzz Lightyear would wear.
Of course they had every version in stock, they are junk.
Have to shake my head at the fact you recognize they are a terrible watch and yet you still bought 2 more...
Buy the better Ali x alternative and slap it in an Ali x stainless speedmaster case
To me, these watches cheapened the Omega brand and made me disgusted with Swatch.
Short answer. No.
Long answer. Noooo
