I’ve been an Omega fan for years now. I have several vintage pieces and of course also the “real” Speedy. This MoonSwatch is not supposed to be luxury. As far as I can tell, the only people getting bitter with it are the people that buy a watch as a status symbol and not for the passion of collecting time pieces. It’s a genius marketing move. Giving young horology enthusiasts a starting point. This inevitably will put Omega in peoples minds who maybe never even considered this brand for a luxury time piece. Omega flipped Rolex the biggest of birds with this. I love Rolex as well, but their scarcity game is very off putting and frustrating. This one will definitely become part of my collection once it’s available online.
But what about the people buying the Plasticmaster just so they can say 'i wear an omega' ? If they really were into the art of horology, there are way better watches at the price point.
It's a toy plastic speedmaster and a genius marketing move by the Swatch group. Some people are claiming it reduces the speedmaster brand but I don't think that a toy plastic Porsche lessens the 911.
I absolutely agree with you in every single word. In my opinion a smart marketing move that doesn‘t make the Omegas Speedmaster less adorable. But a move that fascinates a broader crowd for the watch game.

Absolute genius! People think they're getting a cheap Omega - instead are getting an expensive Swatch. This is going to be taught as a case study in business schools in the future
I think it was a really smart marketing move on Omega's part; "this will open up a wider margin to reach more potential customers", and!!! yes this will be a huge success and the opportunity to collect the complete set. My choice! The Mercury Mission.
Instead of purchasing all if these crappy wannabee professionals, why not just use ALL that money and purchase a real Omega professional moonwatch? You can get a used one easily for about $4000 or a new one for about $6,400.
Got it spot on! As a Omega speedmaster owner this is great news for the watch industry, the only down side is the flippers hoping to gain profit from this? Who the hell in their right mind would buy these watches over retail! 🤣🤣🤣🤦♂️ ... I dont mind just waiting for it to go online cant be bothered to queue up and buy the Pluto and maybe the Uranus 🤣 In the end these watches are cheap and cheerful, lighthearted wear as a daily beater, Swatch and Omega did the right thing 👍... now wonder if Rolex would collaborate with Timex 😉🤣🤣🤣
Daily beater Swatch? Who wants a coloured wrist everybody single day? Beside that, the crystal scratches just by looking at it and it is nearly impossible to get rid of these scratches by polishing. I tell you that by experience! If you need a daily beater watch buy anything else and save money!
@@mexxxxximum So does that of mine. The good thing: my Speedy‘s Heslite does not resist polishing. It lowers the barrier to entry for watch collecting. The variety of color options allows something for everyone. Great release. Sporting the Hamilton Khaki Field Day Date Auto today.
Great perspective as always. I got the MoonSwatch Mission to Mercury as a fun fabric-strapped Dark Side of the Moon-esque option when I want something a little different than the proper steel Speedmaster on bracelet.

This watch model will probably become a collector item. It is a nice looking legal replica of the Omega Speedmaster series. Being a quartz movement it will be a lot more accurate than any mechanical watch. Most decent quartz watches should keep to about +- 4 to 8 seconds per month when worn. I have thought of getting one of these new Swatch versions of the Moon watch. Most of the time I have been wearing G-Shock watches. With my activities I am afraid to damage a mechanical watch. I have an original Omega Speedmaster Mark II with the 861a movement sapphire version. As for accuracy when worn it keeps about +2 to +4 seconds per day average. Some days it may slow to about -2 seconds over a day. I have some other Omega mechanical and automatic watches, and some other Swiss types. I get them maintained at an authorized Omega service place about every 4 to 5 years. They all keep excellent time according to their specs. I have been sort of thinking to get myself the new version of the anniversary Omega Speedmaster with the coaxial movement. For the price of the one I want I can buy a new car!
I've got my Dan Henry 1970 orange diver (44mm) on the wrist today. I've had it 3 years, and it's still going strong. I hope to pick up a MoonSwatch at some point, though I am not going to go far out of my way to get one. I will likely swing by my local Swatch boutique tomorrow to see if they've gotten additional shipments/see if they have any tips. They're one of the 12 U.S. locations to get MoonSwatches. I also want to pick up a Clearly New Gent for the nostalgia factor, as I had an original Jellyfish as a kid.
Definitely going to get one of these, probably mercury. Will definitely change the strap though. Great price for a daily wearer. Another fantastic video.
Citizens eco-drive aviator on my wrist today. I’m thinking I might have to venture into obtaining one of these. That mission to Neptune is right up my alley!
These are fun watches meant to be worn and enjoyed. Do not pay over retail as once the hype dies down, so will the demand and there will be plenty of stock. So wait just a little while longer and then collect them all.
I think it's much better than smart watches where people can download the image of various fine watch faces and wear them like the real deal. This one may not be the thousands of dollars model but at least it's beautiful, a commemorative piece and Authentic Due to the Collaboration between the two Companies. A win win in my opinion.
I hope they don’t just limit this collaboration to the Moonwatch, this could be just the start of something of bigger future collabs. They could venture to expanding the concept to the Seamaster Omega x Swatch collab too: there are 31 varieties of the Sea theme for them to think about (e.g., Atlantic, Mediterranean, Red, Baltic, Arabian, South China, Celebes, etc). Another one is Railmaster collab series: the likes of Amtrak, British, Eurostar, Trenitalia, Oriental Express, SBB, etc). Better yet, the Constellation collab series would do great with so many possible variants.
They would probably wenture off with planet oceans if they did that, since the amount of oceans is more budget friendly to both companies in terms of development. But making a diver would require the discardment of the plastic (well, bio-ceramic) materials, which would ultimately up the price, making it closer to an Omega than a swatch, which at that point, would make the collab unnecessary since omega could always just release a line of limited edition seamasters itself, without the need of a collab.
@@P47RICKOG Those oceans ideas were great in the Swatch X Blancpain instead! Indeed it was budget friendly in having approach of using oceans theme for the diver watches

Nice Video ! Just found, and then just subscribed; you are just great youtuber. Concerning OxS, well.... ok; I am italian (living in Zurich, where many super luxury watches are at each corner).... Italy is not only good pasta and pizza and women :) , but also a particular opinion about "beauty". OxS, a good marketing operation generally speaking... definitely not "beauty", buuuuuut... for sure the possibility to bring the Omega name (which is very much bound to mechanical watches) to the mind, eyes and heart of many people. And this could, in turn, bring some of them to the world of real and high quality watches. Perhaps this was not the intention, but I hope this will be the result. I stay tuned, already love this channel. Take care !

Happen to be wearing my Swatch Irony Happy Joe today. Bought as something to wear when my (insert expensive watch name here) went back to Switzerland for a service back in the 2000's and still going strong with ocasional wear. Late to the party on the MoonSwatch but I fully intend to get one, or more, once they are back in the shops.
I bought mission to the sun and mission to Mercury. I have a goal of getting all 11 but as of now I got my 2 faves. The sun is the only one with a Sunburst dial out of the collection. And the Mercury is in my opinion the “dressy” model out of the whole collection. Fun and serious is what I wanted. Tiffany blue Uranus is my next one and so on.

I've been using my Apple watch from high school til post college. My first watch I am gonna buy is the Omega Swatch Speedmaster. Easy intro to collecting watches as said... i'm excited but I think this collaboration was a great marketing move bc I rarely spend my money but this is defintely hitting the right audience.
I'm wearing my Formex Essence 39 with the black dial and black rubber strap. I bought matching ones with my dad but he got the bigger size and the blue dial. We got it as it going away gift for college so that we can remember each other when we're States apart every time we look at our wrists. PS: I personally love the green dial on the Formex Essence. That's the one I would have bought if I didn't already have a green Omega seamaster aquaterra.
hey there....on my wrist I am wearing an Earnshaw Longitude dual time automatic ES- 8006-06 Just wanted to try something new, I really liked its design, let me know what you think about it?
I have been wearing a used, titanium, mineral glass, 35mm diameter, 200m WR, non-screw-down crown, field watch black dialed, discontinued kanji day-date Alba quartz. 3 second fast since having it for the past 5 months. Do you think the interest of this collab watch has died down? Especially Swatch is not selling it online?
Nice video! I've only stood in line for couple things in life, registering to vote, (the year it changed in the US) and Windows 2000 introduction event. Consumerism at its best, like comedy it's all about the timing, this watch is a great joke! I own a Leica M Swatch limited production from 2000 if memory serves me, the plastic band yellowed and cracked, it's plastic crystal scratched and I don't ever remember mishandling, that was the end of any Swatch purchased for me. I'd like to see review after a year of daily use. Enjoy!

That sounds good to me 🤞
I think it's great anything that gives an entry into aspirations of luxury is fantastic 😀
Seiko 5 snkl23 on my wrist today. Earlier a Bertucci field watch.
Mission to Mercury, then Jupiter, Mars then Pluto in that order. These are not limited editions, so I wait.
Take care !
I love it. It’s my second currently watch and becomes a daily/holiday watch and allows me to service my B&R BR126 and leave for more special occasions.
So currently on my wrist is a Saturn MoonSwatch on a brown NATO strap
Great intro!
I'm glad you like it
finally a good honest-dynamic review on this watch. Well done! the other videos reviews sucks and so stupid! carry on mate!
Cheers!
Every potential subscriber has a breaking point.... mine was in the intro... my god the drama!
Haha love it. Thank you!
Great review! Your voice tone etc are exactly as the guy from Bark n Jack. Fast ...slow pause speak. I'm thinking VO work in film , says the producer .
Really enjoy your channel. This would be my color choice too. Wearing a blue dial Christopher Ward Sealander GMT this evening.
Good choice!
Great vid! I've got the gold Tissot PRX quartz on, I absolutely love it!
Thanks! Great choice. Have you seen the new PRX in Green?
@@ChisholmHunterOfficial I was debating between getting the gold vs green, absolutely love both
iwatch 4. I have a vintage Omega and a vintage Longines (older than my 52 years) and I really want a real speedmaster but I can't afford it (yet). I like the idea and I would either get Mercury or Moon.
nice review, currently wearing my latest all time fave EDW (every day watch) Omega 300 Seamaster Bronze on a nato strap
Great choice!
I just googled this.. it says it’s £10,350 is that right? You were a 10k watch out everyday wow. I couldn’t do that
Genius Marketing Move And Also A Chance For Young Horology Enthusiasts To Get A Little Slice Of The Omega Experience In A Fast Picking Up Smart Watch Scene.
Good video, definitely want to get one.
Your audio is faint then blows up to ear splitting levels. Fix that.
Just got one today Mercury. I got lucky that time, because the moons were sold out first as the Mercury. Wohoo!
Great Presentation and Analysis 🙏🙏🙏
Glad you liked it!
I have an omega
Constellation
DOUBLE EAGLE
CO‑AXIAL CHRONOGRAPH what do you think about this watch
How happy are you with the watch and do you think with a metal strap this could pass for a dress watch worth the money?
I bought mission to the sun and mission to Mercury. I have a goal of getting all 11 but as of now I got my 2 faves. The sun is the only one with a Sunburst dial out of the collection. And the Mercury is in my opinion the “dressy” model out of the whole collection. Fun and serious is what I wanted. Tiffany blue Uranus is my next one and so on.
Does the watch feel rather cheap with the bioceramic plastic? Because i've seen videos talking about the built quality of it is bad. Is your watch still working fine? Does your watch have any scratches?
So is it worth it? Thinking of getting one
Andy. You are absolutely right, and the Pagani will last at least 200 times longer and not stain your wrist!
I walked into the Zurich Airport store yesterday (10 minutes after opening) and walked out within 2 minutes with the Mercury model. Noice.
Hi Kiffa….at what price ?
@@Skymann700 retail. Fr.250
@@miles2282 many thanks !!!
Is there a way to buy them ? I checked the website and they all sold out.
I have the Sun and Mars. I got an Omega nato strap for both. Great fit.
Nice, how did you manage to get one? I understood its not really possible to get these.
I was able to pick mine up whilst in Las Vegas 3 weeks ago
I've been using my Apple watch from high school til post college. My first watch I am gonna buy is the Omega Swatch Speedmaster. Easy intro to collecting watches as said... i'm excited but I think this collaboration was a great marketing move bc I rarely spend my money but this is defintely hitting the right audience.
Why do you want to collect watches may I ask?
So how did you get one? Every time I go into a Swatch shop, they tell me there is no stock available, come back in May or June...
Im wearing rhe rolex 126331 two tone rose gold with a factory mother of pearl diamond dial and i love it
hey there....on my wrist I am wearing an Earnshaw Longitude dual time automatic ES- 8006-06 Just wanted to try something new, I really liked its design, let me know what you think about it?
What are your thoughts on ingersoll watches?
I have been wearing a used, titanium, mineral glass, 35mm diameter, 200m WR, non-screw-down crown, field watch black dialed, discontinued kanji day-date Alba quartz. 3 second fast since having it for the past 5 months.
Do you think the interest of this collab watch has died down? Especially Swatch is not selling it online?
Can you change the strap out? Thinking if you put a fancier higher quality band it may look even closer to an Omega (from a distance)
Enjoy!
I live in Canada and want to know when I can order one or when they will be in stores
On wrist I have the Moonswatch Jupiter edition, nice and subtle
How do i get one ?
Is a 6.5 inch wrist considered small or big ????
Greay review i will definitely be picking oke of these up im thinking the Uranus version it looks like a great summer watch.
I to brought a speedmaster a few days ago (well received a few days ago) after a fair few years collecting I finally added my grail to my collection.
The omega speedmaster professional moon watch. As much as I like the sapphire sandwich because of the open, i had to go with the closed back hesalite versions as I wanted all the details on the back.
You should do a live Q&A on here. I'm sure a lot of watch lovers would watch it .
Are thee watches Waterproof, Does anyone out there know ????
