Seriously I play a couple hours 4 or 5 times a week. I don’t. Stress over anything in game. Why!? Because I’m playing to destress from life. I personally could care less if people AFK. So what if it ruins an event. It’s a fictional event in a fictional game. People can choose whether or not to be offended, most people choose to be. I would advise people to choose not to. There’s more important things in life then an ultra Rare fictional mask.
I’ve played 3 times today and crashed twice just before the event completed so I got no rewards. I really wish they’d address the crashing issues on PS5
Your making the event worse 😔 literally stuck at 3 events and couldn't finish because everyone was afk. This isn't gonna help people stay in the community most people won't even play they go through that like i did.
If you’re on the server before the event starts and you see a bunch of people at Helvetia, just bounce to a different server. People are always going to be AFK, so it’s up to you to make your event run successful. You control the outcome.

No it really isn't. I've had exactly one time in the whole week so far we're most people were afk and in a matter of 2 minutes I was on a server with active players. All this does is allow people like me who have little to no time to actually run the event every hour because of other responsibilities like work or in my case taking care of a quadriplegic family member which is fucking rough.

I play on ps4 w/ good internet hard wired. This method does work as described here. However after a few days of testing I've found that AFKing while dead causes major decline in game stability. I can't go more than 2 maybe 3 events AFKing while dead before it freezes or blue screens every single time. Lost a glowing minotaur mask because I blue screened after getting it. AFK while alive I found was way more reliable on game stability. Went 10 hours with no game errors. You take a risk either way. Take 2 maybe 3 rewards guaranteed dead AFKing before an error or see if you can do it alive and possibly get more if no one nukes the event.

I literally JUST had it ruined, I’m only lvl 120 and I was the only one doing it, with like 15 ppl there. I switched servers to one that failed already cuz no one even started it, switched again to get there just in time for it to be over and get nothing. Ur advice is really helping out the community.
Yep..I just watched the video and thought of a better way to go out. I radiate my player to just a sliver of health then travel to the event area and get setup. Drink 2 Dirty Waters and bam☠️.
Gamma gun is the gamechanger... Shoot it at your feet and it's super easy to go full health to bloodied in seconds. I stopped using my Radiation Barrels and consumables to restore my rads thanks to this trick
Just yesterday I joined the event right after it got nuked and saw a lvl 3 hop to the event and die immediately then left not to return. Mind you I'm a lvl 130...So after the event I hunted them down and gave them a bunch of stuff all my double masks I had and about 100 plans I had that were in my vending machine 😅 hope I made there day! Im here to have fun not try to screw over low level players❤
It still works the same if you go in photo mode with your sticks banded and die from nuke. You didn't have to chop suey yourself I got 7 masks overnight after getting nuked
@@Hydro095 being in photo mode with sticks band will work too, but make sure your character is sitting or playing an instrument so other players can't push you out of the area.
i like the channel videos but making the event in 2-3 people because 90% of the server is afk is not fun at all! sad see you guys helping more people do it.

You're playing this event for fun? this is my first Fasnacht and it is mind numbingly boring. I haven't seen any enemies because they all get killed so quick. 2-3 people actually sounds way better than the 12+ people I've been getting in my servers hahahaha. its literally just walking a circle around Helvetia? if it didn't give rare rewards literally nobody would play.
The problem?!😂The fact that some people have better things to do than repeat this boring shit every hour? people have work, responsibilities etc. I cant see any possible way this 'problem' affects you
This video helped me decide to afk while i sleep tonight. I tried to do that in previous Fasnachts, but always got killed or crashed or whatever, so it wasn't worth the setup time. This seems like it might minimize some of the reasons it rarely worked for me (overnight) before. Also, i understand why people get upset about us afking, but i just don't have the energy to care anymore. Playing it nice and hoping Bethesda would improve drop rates, or at least remove some of the older rewards to help out veteran players, has proven a fool's errand. You two are becoming one of my new favorite channels. Keep up the great vids. 😊

Not sure if you're aware , but PS5 and most modern controllers have notoriously bad Joysticks that develop heavy stick drift quite easily. Have a feeling the rubber band technique is going to ruin so many controllers for so many ppl. If you're playing on PC consider using simple macros (Macro Recorder is free and it can produce simple macros that will prevent you from getting kicked by let's say just doing an attack and opening map once every ten minutes or something), while on console I would go with methods that apply less pressure on the joystick (maybe hair bands and loosly holding both joysticks together so minimal pressure is applied)... Cause these controllers cost almost 100 bucks with taxes where I live...
A couple of players I know reported trying this and it failing for them (they timed out and got kicked) but I'll need to confirm what they did for their AFK. I'm still Fasnachtered from the last one getting only one old uncommon mask from 90+ events. Luckily I managed to get the butter churn and the candle today but all the masks were common and the other plans were all old ones I know from16 Fasnachts I've done today. There's only one more plan I really want so I might be done with the event if I manage to score that as I only play on the one character. When you are on a world marked as full, 12+ people at Helvetia and only 2 of you are actively doing the event (3 different worlds) I can understand the desire to nuke the joint.
As for the people who got kicked, they probably didn’t have their controllers banded properly. As long as you’re providing input to the game, it shouldn’t detect you as idle.
@@Gamer_Aviator Hopping can be a problem during the event, during the last time it was on there seemed to be 'collisions' between players trying to get on just for the event - worlds full, exit out, world full etc. No easy solution, nut I was able to keep the bots alive while the level 33 did their best to kill the enemy spawn on one world. At least the bots move more quickly now but sometimes that gets them into danger more quickly if you aren't keeping an eye on them during the supermutant phase.
I just checked my PS and saw a notification that the server was going down for maintenance. That might be what happened to your friends - it’s another uncontrollable way to get kicked. I too have noticed that bouncing can be problematic. I’ve been bounced to worlds that are empty and brand new where no event is happening. That’s frustrating. This event cycle has a lot of differences. The marchers wander off more, and the final boss is one of many cryptids instead of just the mega sloth. Nice that guy gets a break.
@@Gamer_Aviator can confirm pc will kick you after like 3 hours regardless, might be the servers thought. cam e here to see if there was some unknown new afk detection
The the rubber band is for movement I seen that comment. On a PC I'm guessing I'll have to find a way to hold down one direction key. Probably have to temporarily remap a direction key to like the Space bar or something. I'm definitely gonna try this.
I'll be playing another game while the Fasnacht event is on (again). I very quickly became bored with it last time, so I'm just going to ignore it for the next two weeks 😄
Ngl, not grinding this one. The devs on the PTS said they would do something about the drop rates, so its not worth it to torture my PS5 over 6 rare masks.
To anyone whining about seeing 15 people afk i find it interesting you all say 15 and i mean every single one. Almost like you're over exaggerating since ive ran it dozens of times now and the most afk ive seen is 8. Hell I ran the event with 1 level 186 and 2 sub level 50s and still made it to the end with all bots surviving. So you're really just mad that your activley running the event and they arent but they still get rewards. Not it being harder or taking up server slots, since someone being afk at the event and being afk away from the event have the same effect just the person afk not at the event doesnt get rewards. But none of you complain about being afk away from the event.

Ok at first i hated this but noodle is right. Technically you're not hurting anyone or the event. It's more of a feeling, and i think this is the real issue that people don't like seeing someone get something for zero effort when they actually play the game. I think people feel cheated and feel like their time isn't rewarded. That's the major problem nobody is talking about. Thats the problem that needs to be fixed. If you don't contribute you don't get any rewards across the board with anything in this game outside of people dropping/selling/trading stuff. It would fix all this. I'm in the camp of if you don't have time to play, that sucks but it doesn't entitle you to anything. You do the work you get the reward. Make time if you want said thing. But I'm tired of hearing excuses for why people don't have time to do the work but still feel entitled to the rewards. Thats just my opinion on the matter. Either way kool video bro
Bethesda just needs to switch off duplicate drops until you get everything and it would fix most of the problem. Personally I started afking last meat week. Just tired of getting the same damn thing every time. And I’m not gonna partake it the terrible player economy.
I hear you. In my mind, if it's possible to do something in the game, then its a viable strategy. Whether that's AFKing events, glitching through doors, or scrapping pickaxes for legendary modules before they patch the bug...if it's there, do it. If there was a glitch in the real world where you could AFK at your work and get paid while actually sitting at home watching Netflix...would you do it? Hell yeah. Everyone would. Would your coworkers get pissed off? Yes. Would your company collapse if everyone was doing it? Yes, and there the analogy breaks down. The only way AFKing hurts anyone is if there are 23 players AFKing and one person tries to run the event. If you (or anyone) comes across that - just bounce to a different server. It's a good reason to get to the event a few minutes early, because bouncing mid-event can often put you on a new server with no one else. Perhaps the real problem is that these exploits/glitches/mechanics exist at all. I always point to grinding WestTek. Is it fair that one person can level up 1000x in a day while another can't? Maybe it doesn't matter because there's no perceived loss, but at Fasnacht there's no loss either. As long as the marchers survive, everyone has the same chance of getting the same number of masks, regardless of how many people participated. A high enough level player can solo it easily, so 23 AFKers doesn't _really_ matter.
I hope someday Beth will regard this and not reward people who don´t have any input on their mouse/KB during the event. Do your part if you want a reward.
I don't know. That's a good question, and I'll pay attention to it the next time I enter limbo. Since I'm AFKing though, I expect everything to spoil (as it would if I was just standing there for days). It would be a nice added benefit if it _didn't_ spoil while waiting to respawn. We'll put the answer in our next Fasnacht video, which should be out in a couple days.
All these losers in the comments crying. We have lives outside of playing this game and still would like rewards for a goofy ass event. If you want afking to stop petition bethesda to make the event repeatable as many times as you want not every hour. So we all have a chance to get rewards. Or make it repeatable 5 to 10 times a day

It's the law of scarcity. The event happens once or twice a year, and within it the rare masks have a very small chance of dropping. The more scarce an item, the higher its perceived value. There's status attached to running around with a rare mask that others don't have. It's like driving a Lamborghini, except you don't have any chance of also getting some play out of it. Or as MODUS said in one of our Atomic Shop videos, some people have more money than sense. -oskapt
@@Gamer_Aviator nothing in that game is rare lol, it's not real, its all code that dictates how the shit goes, there is RNG in there as well sure, but i dunno what it is about RNG that makes you all froth so hard to the stuff that comes up less, there's gonna come a time, really soon, where this game is dead and buried and that hundred dollar mask isn't even there for you to wipe your ass with, which is about all you'd do with half those ugly things anyway.. this is mental.
Haha. Neat trick. It doesn't really solve the problem though. Nobody will do the event in a nuke zone. They will just jump to another server. If nobody runs the event, the AFK loot goblins will not receive any rewards.

I usually love all your videos but I have to admit that encouraging more players in being afk at events is a pretty nasty thing. If a player is at the console/pc to respawn and set up a controller then there is absolutely NO reason why you can't participate in the event. Events are in game for players to be rewarded for participation. It helps maintain team work and the community aspect of the game. This kind of stuff completely negates that and helps breed toxicity in the community. Do you think that this event will be enjoyable for all the newer players like this? This is more of a reason to hate this event and stay away from the game instead.
There's plenty of reason to not participate in every run. I'm working on a new video right now for instance, and as soon as my avatar collects some masks I will give them away after I film them for said video. ;) A player afk'ing doesn't take anything away from anyone. In our case, we actually give ALL of our masks away. :)

I’m on Xbox and when I try to do any type of afking I just get kicked even when my controller is plugged in and I have a rubber band on the leg joystick? Any suggestions on how to afk for more than 3 hours?
Just come by and check on it every 2 or so hours and move the controller sticks in different ways so it can’t tell it’s just sitting there the same direction for hours
No. Cursor is only controlled by the left thumb stick, so once it moves all the way over to the right, it won’t move anymore. I may not have actually rubber banded it here, since I show how to do it in the other video. I was just testing if I could survive the nuke blast if already dead.
For some reason I can't AFK. I tried rubber band, but even then, the game goes to title screen if I don't actually press a button every few min. TBS, nothing wrong with AFK. Participants don't loose anything and some of us have full time jobs while event is limited time.
Exactly. The rewards aren't taken from anyone. :D So sorry to hear you're having trouble with those rubber bands. Have you tried playing a musical instrument at the event? That also works. -Noodle
What system are you playing on? On Xbox the controller will auto turn off unless you take out the battery and plug it directly into the console. Make sure the cable has data transfer ability & not just a charging cable. That will prevent your xbox controller from turning off and kicking you out for afk.

Can you still nule fasnacht? I dropped a nuke on the new map area So I could spark the event there, but I remembered someone telling me you can't nuke fasnacht now.. so i tested it would not allow me to
@@Gamer_Aviator yea I was just in a fasnacht event that got nuked so I'm thinking the silo was bugged because there were no turrets at all, and the assaultrons would take a few steps and die lol..
I was "killed" by a nuke but I was in the respawn state while the event finished so I sill got the reward when I got back to the PC in time to respawn from being nuked. I assume that I would time out eventually and go back to the home screen. I didn't think about killing myself first. Excellent!!!! lololol
Logged in today to do this event and the zone was nuked. I go there and there is me and three others and thats it. So I go to the usual AFK places and sure enough there they are the social welfare crowd begging for handouts. Normally this is no problem, but with the zone nuked I couldn't use my regual gear so it was more of a chore than usual. I go looking for an answer and I find this video and this explains it all. thanks for teaching out the tricks of begging and ruining for the rest of us. It's like in real life, I go to work to pay for handouts to others. This game was just taking off again after the show but videos like this will make this game slip back in to obscurity again. So thanks again for not thinking. How about some videos that teach people how you should play the game instead? Oh but yeah I forgot, that is to close to real work so, yay welfare....
Have you seen the rest of the videos in our channel? We teach lots of things. AFKing is a fact of life, as is the zone getting nuked. Bounce to a different server or just deal with it. Us making or not making a video isn’t going to change it any more than an ad about how bad fentanyl is will change the homeless dude passed out in front of city hall. No one is asking you for a handout. Bethesda makes it possible for people to do this, so it’s a completely valid game mechanic for people to use.

I just came back from one server where it was just me and one other guy, a low level one, doing Line in the sand. You know why? Because the rest of the server is running against a wall in Helvetia. Stop validating this kind of gaming. I work for a living and the only thing I have is to come home and play a game for an hour or two. But hey I can do more than just switch server, I can switch game, just like I did years ago with this same game for the exact same reason. You must understand that videos like this validate this kind of gaming. And if you don't understand this the you can go ans spam the E button by the poor box with the rest of them.

You do realize the drop rate is ridiculously low and awful for the new rare ones right? and the amount of masks there are it is even lower to get the one you want. You’d have to play like 300+ events to get maybe 2 or 3 really rare ones. I’ve played it about 90 times and all I got was ONE glowing mask, 2 new uncommon ones that’s it… everything else was garbage 15 caps mask. No ones going to constantly do a 15-20 minute event to get a damn beret. Sorry you’ve been having bad luck with the event but crying in a comment section isn’t gonna fix it. AFK farming has been a thing for a wile, this is just a symptom of the horrible drop rates. Also people have responsibilities to do so they can’t play and get the rewards and the event is once a year. This is there only chance in a year to get a rare mask. I’m not trying to be rude towards you so i hope you offer the same courtesy in your reply should you do so. Again sorry you’ve been having a bad time.
Going AFK is against the user agreement and it takes server space from people who actually want to play the game. Not to mention having a bunch of people afk in an event area ramps up the crashes. I consider all of that way more toxic than dropping a nuke on a bunch of over entitled douchebags.

If you’re dead it doesn’t matter. You just need input from the controller. If You come back and it says “Disconnected from server” then it means that they took that server down for maintenance and kicked everyone off. Nothing you can do about that.
I am AFK on three different machines. An Xbox series S, an Xbox S, and an Xbox one. All three are plugged in with three different controller models. I keep getting the pop-up that says please connect to controller. I’ve updated all of the firmware and set all of the machines to not turn off automatically. Anyone have any ideas?
I always miss the fashnat events bc I have work and a 3 year old who does not let me play, that’s why I started to afk the event I just simply don’t have time and I’m tired of missing out :(
Yes, it's a long time to grind for what might just be a beret. Nothing wrong with taking advantage of a game mechanic that lets you collect masks while going about your real life responsibilities.

Sometimes the game locks up entirely on my PS5. Sometimes it crashes. Sometimes a server kicks everyone off for maintenance. For every one of those events, though, I get ~5 masks, so it’s still worth it.
People that nuke events are just crybabies some of us have a broken foot and working 60 hour work weeks can help it you get your feelings hurt for not touching grass

That would also work, yes. There's a bug right now where if I switch to my crafting loadout and then back to my regular loadout, my health drops to 1%. All it takes is a sideways glance from Noodle to kill me then. -oskapt
To be fair, it’s not laziness. Many people have jobs and kids and can’t afford the time to play for a .238% chance of a rare mask. We, for example, spend all day making video content for this channel, so we don’t get to play as much as we would like. AFKing allows us to get rewards that we can use to make new videos for you to enjoy.

It definitely worked😂. I Did 3 events and got 3 rewards. Unfortunately, no rare items yet. I can at least guarantee that I will receive at least a few when its all said and done. Did this afk method with 2 different accounts when I left for work today and came back to 2 glowing robots & a glowing unicorn. No crashes on Pc and the map doesn’t suck up resources >
I really love you guys ( especially noodle 😛 ) but this is WRONG !!!! Finding ways to cheat the game makes it that more difficult for those of us who love running the events ( even if it is 10 000 times because every time we run into new/other/different players/experiences AND we get to take soooo many pictures/make memories...and this extends to IRL: YT, twitch, discord etc. ). I still love you guys, just not for the rest of this week 😞
Please explain to me how this is cheating anyone. :D Some people arrive 2 seconds before the event ends and collect the rewards. Are you mad at them too? What about people just getting masks from the donation box and leaving? When you get rewards from a repeated event that you may not have time to run, like if you're too busy making video content for your channel ;) you're not taking the rewards away from anyone. It's no different than getting team credit or a reward for an event that you happen to stumble into. My avatar is literally sitting at a fasnacht event right now playing guitar so that I can collect masks to do the mask review for YOU while running on 4 hours of sleep. Masks that I will then drop in a donation box for other players. So, maybe consider that it's not cheating. Cheers. -Noodle
How is this cheating other players? The drop rate on rare masks is so low unless you are just incredibly lucky afking every fasnacht is the only way to increase your odds of getting one. Not everyone has all day every day to play f76 just for rare masks. This is just smart time management.
I have not afked but it is a viable method for those that don't have time to play the game. I have done every one of them today and most of them twice each time. So for 24+ events I have participated in I have not gotten a rare mask. Tbh I would probably try to afk if I wasn't able to server hop for a second one everytime. Which has been somewhat even more demoralizing due to the drop rate
They can call it whatever they want. Its still lazy and embarassing. They talk about new season's system being a scam, but here they are, teaching other people to ruin the event. Fasnacht is now faster with more enemies, if I found myself in a server filled half of AFK people, and it made me fail to get a mask, i will make sure these people's 76 experience will be unpleasant too. And ive been in situation like this over the years and it was the boring slow fasnacht..mf

I play on ps4 w/ good internet hard wired. This method does work as described here. However after a few days of testing I've found that AFKing while dead causes major decline in game stability. I can't go more than 2 maybe 3 events AFKing while dead before it freezes or blue screens every single time. Lost a glowing minotaur mask because I blue screened after getting it. AFK while alive I found was way more reliable on game stability. Went 10 hours with no game errors. You take a risk either way. Take 2 maybe 3 rewards guaranteed dead AFKing before an error or see if you can do it alive and possibly get more if no one nukes the event.

I literally JUST had it ruined, I’m only lvl 120 and I was the only one doing it, with like 15 ppl there. I switched servers to one that failed already cuz no one even started it, switched again to get there just in time for it to be over and get nothing. Ur advice is really helping out the community.

Yep..I just watched the video and thought of a better way to go out. I radiate my player to just a sliver of health then travel to the event area and get setup. Drink 2 Dirty Waters and bam☠️.

Gamma gun is the gamechanger... Shoot it at your feet and it's super easy to go full health to bloodied in seconds. I stopped using my Radiation Barrels and consumables to restore my rads thanks to this trick
Just yesterday I joined the event right after it got nuked and saw a lvl 3 hop to the event and die immediately then left not to return. Mind you I'm a lvl 130...So after the event I hunted them down and gave them a bunch of stuff all my double masks I had and about 100 plans I had that were in my vending machine 😅 hope I made there day! Im here to have fun not try to screw over low level players❤

It still works the same if you go in photo mode with your sticks banded and die from nuke. You didn't have to chop suey yourself I got 7 masks overnight after getting nuked

This video helped me decide to afk while i sleep tonight. I tried to do that in previous Fasnachts, but always got killed or crashed or whatever, so it wasn't worth the setup time. This seems like it might minimize some of the reasons it rarely worked for me (overnight) before.
Also, i understand why people get upset about us afking, but i just don't have the energy to care anymore. Playing it nice and hoping Bethesda would improve drop rates, or at least remove some of the older rewards to help out veteran players, has proven a fool's errand.

Not sure if you're aware , but PS5 and most modern controllers have notoriously bad Joysticks that develop heavy stick drift quite easily. Have a feeling the rubber band technique is going to ruin so many controllers for so many ppl. If you're playing on PC consider using simple macros (Macro Recorder is free and it can produce simple macros that will prevent you from getting kicked by let's say just doing an attack and opening map once every ten minutes or something), while on console I would go with methods that apply less pressure on the joystick (maybe hair bands and loosly holding both joysticks together so minimal pressure is applied)... Cause these controllers cost almost 100 bucks with taxes where I live...
A couple of players I know reported trying this and it failing for them (they timed out and got kicked) but I'll need to confirm what they did for their AFK. I'm still Fasnachtered from the last one getting only one old uncommon mask from 90+ events.
Luckily I managed to get the butter churn and the candle today but all the masks were common and the other plans were all old ones I know from16 Fasnachts I've done today. There's only one more plan I really want so I might be done with the event if I manage to score that as I only play on the one character.
When you are on a world marked as full, 12+ people at Helvetia and only 2 of you are actively doing the event (3 different worlds) I can understand the desire to nuke the joint.
Yeah I get it too, but the easiest is just to bounce to a diff server. AFK is here to stay, just like any other social meme that people love or hate.
As for the people who got kicked, they probably didn’t have their controllers banded properly. As long as you’re providing input to the game, it shouldn’t detect you as idle.
@@Gamer_Aviator Hopping can be a problem during the event, during the last time it was on there seemed to be 'collisions' between players trying to get on just for the event - worlds full, exit out, world full etc. No easy solution, nut I was able to keep the bots alive while the level 33 did their best to kill the enemy spawn on one world.
At least the bots move more quickly now but sometimes that gets them into danger more quickly if you aren't keeping an eye on them during the supermutant phase.
I just checked my PS and saw a notification that the server was going down for maintenance. That might be what happened to your friends - it’s another uncontrollable way to get kicked.
I too have noticed that bouncing can be problematic. I’ve been bounced to worlds that are empty and brand new where no event is happening. That’s frustrating.
This event cycle has a lot of differences. The marchers wander off more, and the final boss is one of many cryptids instead of just the mega sloth. Nice that guy gets a break.

The the rubber band is for movement I seen that comment. On a PC I'm guessing I'll have to find a way to hold down one direction key. Probably have to temporarily remap a direction key to like the Space bar or something. I'm definitely gonna try this.

Exactly. You are imitating movement.
Plus, if you don't move your controller for a certain amount of time, it'll turn off then eventually your console will turn off or go to rest mode.

To anyone whining about seeing 15 people afk i find it interesting you all say 15 and i mean every single one. Almost like you're over exaggerating since ive ran it dozens of times now and the most afk ive seen is 8. Hell I ran the event with 1 level 186 and 2 sub level 50s and still made it to the end with all bots surviving. So you're really just mad that your activley running the event and they arent but they still get rewards. Not it being harder or taking up server slots, since someone being afk at the event and being afk away from the event have the same effect just the person afk not at the event doesnt get rewards. But none of you complain about being afk away from the event.

Ok at first i hated this but noodle is right. Technically you're not hurting anyone or the event. It's more of a feeling, and i think this is the real issue that people don't like seeing someone get something for zero effort when they actually play the game. I think people feel cheated and feel like their time isn't rewarded. That's the major problem nobody is talking about. Thats the problem that needs to be fixed. If you don't contribute you don't get any rewards across the board with anything in this game outside of people dropping/selling/trading stuff. It would fix all this. I'm in the camp of if you don't have time to play, that sucks but it doesn't entitle you to anything. You do the work you get the reward. Make time if you want said thing. But I'm tired of hearing excuses for why people don't have time to do the work but still feel entitled to the rewards. Thats just my opinion on the matter. Either way kool video bro
Bethesda just needs to switch off duplicate drops until you get everything and it would fix most of the problem. Personally I started afking last meat week. Just tired of getting the same damn thing every time. And I’m not gonna partake it the terrible player economy.
I hear you. In my mind, if it's possible to do something in the game, then its a viable strategy. Whether that's AFKing events, glitching through doors, or scrapping pickaxes for legendary modules before they patch the bug...if it's there, do it. If there was a glitch in the real world where you could AFK at your work and get paid while actually sitting at home watching Netflix...would you do it? Hell yeah. Everyone would. Would your coworkers get pissed off? Yes. Would your company collapse if everyone was doing it? Yes, and there the analogy breaks down. The only way AFKing hurts anyone is if there are 23 players AFKing and one person tries to run the event. If you (or anyone) comes across that - just bounce to a different server. It's a good reason to get to the event a few minutes early, because bouncing mid-event can often put you on a new server with no one else.
Perhaps the real problem is that these exploits/glitches/mechanics exist at all. I always point to grinding WestTek. Is it fair that one person can level up 1000x in a day while another can't? Maybe it doesn't matter because there's no perceived loss, but at Fasnacht there's no loss either. As long as the marchers survive, everyone has the same chance of getting the same number of masks, regardless of how many people participated. A high enough level player can solo it easily, so 23 AFKers doesn't _really_ matter.

I don't know. That's a good question, and I'll pay attention to it the next time I enter limbo. Since I'm AFKing though, I expect everything to spoil (as it would if I was just standing there for days). It would be a nice added benefit if it _didn't_ spoil while waiting to respawn. All these losers in the comments crying. We have lives outside of playing this game and still would like rewards for a goofy ass event. If you want afking to stop petition bethesda to make the event repeatable as many times as you want not every hour. So we all have a chance to get rewards. Or make it repeatable 5 to 10 times a day

Because those people are really really really smart. And cool.
It's the law of scarcity. The event happens once or twice a year, and within it the rare masks have a very small chance of dropping. The more scarce an item, the higher its perceived value. There's status attached to running around with a rare mask that others don't have. It's like driving a Lamborghini, except you don't have any chance of also getting some play out of it.
Or as MODUS said in one of our Atomic Shop videos, some people have more money than sense. -oskapt

Haha. Neat trick. It doesn't really solve the problem though. Nobody will do the event in a nuke zone. They will just jump to another server. If nobody runs the event, the AFK loot goblins will not receive any rewards.
Until an hour later when the nuke zone expires and us goblins are still there nom nom nomming the loot!

I usually love all your videos but I have to admit that encouraging more players in being afk at events is a pretty nasty thing. If a player is at the console/pc to respawn and set up a controller then there is absolutely NO reason why you can't participate in the event. Events are in game for players to be rewarded for participation. It helps maintain team work and the community aspect of the game. This kind of stuff completely negates that and helps breed toxicity in the community. Do you think that this event will be enjoyable for all the newer players like this? This is more of a reason to hate this event and stay away from the game instead.
There's plenty of reason to not participate in every run. I'm working on a new video right now for instance, and as soon as my avatar collects some masks I will give them away after I film them for said video. ;) A player afk'ing doesn't take anything away from anyone. In our case, we actually give ALL of our masks away. :)

I’m on Xbox and when I try to do any type of afking I just get kicked even when my controller is plugged in and I have a rubber band on the leg joystick? Any suggestions on how to afk for more than 3 hours?
Just come by and check on it every 2 or so hours and move the controller sticks in different ways so it can’t tell it’s just sitting there the same direction for hours

Why doesn't your cursor move after you have placed the rubber band? Are you doing something else as well?
No. Cursor is only controlled by the left thumb stick, so once it moves all the way over to the right, it won’t move anymore. I may not have actually rubber banded it here, since I show how to do it in the other video. I was just testing if I could survive the nuke blast if already dead.
For some reason I can't AFK. I tried rubber band, but even then, the game goes to title screen if I don't actually press a button every few min. TBS, nothing wrong with AFK. Participants don't loose anything and some of us have full time jobs while event is limited time.

What system are you playing on? On Xbox the controller will auto turn off unless you take out the battery and plug it directly into the console. Make sure the cable has data transfer ability & not just a charging cable. That will prevent your xbox controller from turning off and kicking you out for afk.

I was "killed" by a nuke but I was in the respawn state while the event finished so I sill got the reward when I got back to the PC in time to respawn from being nuked. I assume that I would time out eventually and go back to the home screen. I didn't think about killing myself first. Excellent!!!! lololol

Logged in today to do this event and the zone was nuked.
I go there and there is me and three others and thats it.
So I go to the usual AFK places and sure enough there they are the social welfare crowd begging for handouts.
Normally this is no problem, but with the zone nuked I couldn't use my regual gear so it was more of a chore than usual.
I go looking for an answer and I find this video and this explains it all.

Have you seen the rest of the videos in our channel? We teach lots of things. AFKing is a fact of life, as is the zone getting nuked. Bounce to a different server or just deal with it. Us making or not making a video isn’t going to change it any more than an ad about how bad fentanyl is will change the homeless dude passed out in front of city hall. No one is asking you for a handout. Bethesda makes it possible for people to do this, so it’s a completely valid game mechanic for people to use.

You do realize the drop rate is ridiculously low and awful for the new rare ones right? and the amount of masks there are it is even lower to get the one you want. You’d have to play like 300+ events to get maybe 2 or 3 really rare ones. I’ve played it about 90 times and all I got was ONE glowing mask, 2 new uncommon ones that’s it… everything else was garbage 15 caps mask. No ones going to constantly do a 15-20 minute event to get a damn beret. Sorry you’ve been having bad luck with the event but crying in a comment section isn’t gonna fix it. AFK farming has been a thing for a wile, this is just a symptom of the horrible drop rates. Also people have responsibilities to do so they can’t play and get the rewards and the event is once a year. This is there only chance in a year to get a rare mask. I’m not trying to be rude towards you so i hope you offer the same courtesy in your reply should you do so. Again sorry you’ve been having a bad time.

Does this only work if you have the controller moving on the map screen or does it also work after you are just staring at your character dead?
As long as there is "input" from the controller, the game will stay alive. It doesn't matter if you're on the map screen or looking at your dead self.

Going AFK is against the user agreement and it takes server space from people who actually want to play the game.
Not to mention having a bunch of people afk in an event area ramps up the crashes.
I consider all of that way more toxic than dropping a nuke on a bunch of over entitled douchebags.

Hey, I try to keep the character moving against a wall but the game disconnects me and I don't get the rewards.
If you’re dead it doesn’t matter. You just need input from the controller. If
You come back and it says “Disconnected from server” then it means that they took that server down for maintenance and kicked everyone off. Nothing you can do about that.
I am AFK on three different machines. An Xbox series S, an Xbox S, and an Xbox one. All three are plugged in with three different controller models. I keep getting the pop-up that says please connect to controller. I’ve updated all of the firmware and set all of the machines to not turn off automatically. Anyone have any ideas?

Sometimes the game locks up entirely on my PS5. Sometimes it crashes. Sometimes a server kicks everyone off for maintenance. For every one of those events, though, I get ~5 masks, so it’s still worth it.

People that nuke events are just crybabies some of us have a broken foot and working 60 hour work weeks can help it you get your feelings hurt for not touching grass

That would also work, yes. There's a bug right now where if I switch to my crafting loadout and then back to my regular loadout, my health drops to 1%. All it takes is a sideways glance from Noodle to kill me then. -oskapt

To be fair, it’s not laziness. Many people have jobs and kids and can’t afford the time to play for a .238% chance of a rare mask. We, for example, spend all day making video content for this channel, so we don’t get to play as much as we would like. AFKing allows us to get rewards that we can use to make new videos for you to enjoy.

You look like a dead body. There is no second death. The most anyone can do is steal your junk if you had any on you when you died.

It definitely worked😂. I Did 3 events and got 3 rewards. Unfortunately, no rare items yet. I can at least guarantee that I will receive at least a few when its all said and done. Thank you again to both " haves " of Aviator. You definitely are saving me time and most importantly I can sleep at night knowing that I would burn in a nuclear catastrophe

I really love you guys ( especially noodle 😛 ) but this is WRONG !!!! Finding ways to cheat the game makes it that more difficult for those of us who love running the events ( even if it is 10 000 times because every time we run into new/other/different players/experiences AND we get to take soooo many pictures/make memories...and this extends to IRL: YT, twitch, discord etc. ). I still love you guys, just not for the rest of this week 😞
Please explain to me how this is cheating anyone. :D Some people arrive 2 seconds before the event ends and collect the rewards. Are you mad at them too? What about people just getting masks from the donation box and leaving? When you get rewards from a repeated event that you may not have time to run, like if you're too busy making video content for your channel ;) you're not taking the rewards away from anyone. It's no different than getting team credit or a reward for an event that you happen to stumble into. My avatar is literally sitting at a fasnacht event right now playing guitar so that I can collect masks to do the mask review for YOU while running on 4 hours of sleep. Masks that I will then drop in a donation box for other players. So, maybe consider that it's not cheating. Cheers. -Noodle
How is this cheating other players? The drop rate on rare masks is so low unless you are just incredibly lucky afking every fasnacht is the only way to increase your odds of getting one. Not everyone has all day every day to play f76 just for rare masks. This is just smart time management.
I have not afked but it is a viable method for those that don't have time to play the game. I have done every one of them today and most of them twice each time. So for 24+ events I have participated in I have not gotten a rare mask. Tbh I would probably try to afk if I wasn't able to server hop for a second one everytime. Which has been somewhat even more demoralizing due to the drop rate
They can call it whatever they want. Its still lazy and embarassing. They talk about new season's system being a scam, but here they are, teaching other people to ruin the event.
Fasnacht is now faster with more enemies, if I found myself in a server filled half of AFK people, and it made me fail to get a mask, i will make sure these people's 76 experience will be unpleasant too. And ive been in situation like this over the years and it was the boring slow fasnacht..mf
