A fun story. The drop rates in 2019 were broken. The uncommon and rare masks both had a 1% drop rate. So when they brought the event back in 2020 they adjusted the drop rates so people would have a better chance to get the uncommon masks they desperately wanted. So they made the uncommon rate higher than the common. And Bethesda being Bethesda, they never bothered to change it again.
Yup. Haven't gotten one yet and I've done at least 30...finally got the raven which is the only one I have seen duplicated yet got me. Hopefully glowing blue devil fingers crossed
I'm over 200 attempts in and didn't get anything, had to trade a buddy my 2 shot fatman and show him how to increase the damage to 2600×2 for him to trade me one, he get 3 glowing unicorns in a row yesterday. He's blessed by RNGesus
Fasnacht needs a purveyor like murmph. Trade in crap masks for a random rare mask or event completion tickets sorta like overseer tickets to prevent hoarding and keep people playing. Just based on the size of loot pools, complete like ten events > trade in those tickets for a random rare mask > still a low chances of being exactly what you want but you're getting something for your effort; this current system is garbage. Imma probably walk away from this years without a rare mask, with almost 35 events/HOURS under my belt so far (sorry Bethesda I work and dont wanna burn up my xbox). Considering how so called community driven/celebrated fasnacht is, people end these weeks feeling burned out and left out. I've literally only had regular sbq and regular honey bee masks drop from new stuff. I had to buy reg blue devil, reg scorchbeast and 2 of the new plans from player vendors. All I want from fasnacht is a glowing sbq and glowing honey bee dammit. Also why wouldn't wastelanders check out this crazy robot parade, at least settlers and maybe raiders. How about revamping the actual event thats not been touched since it launched 5 YEARS ago. I like Helvetia all peaceful without the scorched, maybe add npc's to talk to even if its just easy rudimentary quests/dialogue and limited to just Fasnachts weeks.
@@qhynie I completely agree because if your unluck for say (me) I feel as if players who are doing the work and running the event are getting trash while I see people plastering all over fb are like wow got so many glowing while just afking.Which is werid saying I feel as if doing something in the event should impact your loot but at this point im just rambling lol.I feel as if though if they did trade like trade an amount of the normal version of the mask to get the glowing variation would be cool or just straight up as you said trade a certain amount of common or uncommon mask to get a rare mask!
Naturally, Reddit is going insane, with people thinking their new shiny glowing masks, should demand insane trades. I guess I'll just wait a while, after the event, for the dust to settle, and try to trade some of my rare non glowing masks, when peoples inflated egos come back down to Earth, LOL!
I have marched in 30+ Fasnacht Events so far this year and not one Rare Mask has dropped for me yet. The odds have not been in my favor. I will say, one of those events failed because no one had a God-Weapon in the 4-man group that actually walked in the parade (11 AFKers in the area though) and 3 Robots died at the very end (glowing wolves tore them to pieces) . AFKers need to participate in the event for the event to be successful, or no one will ever get rare masks. Ultimately this years Fasnacht has been very frustrating for me. :)
The common masks are tied to how many bots survive. Players are so good at getting the bots to live that most times the odds are in favor of getting the uncommon ones. If some die then it becomes in favor of the common masks.
As darthsilversith667 as said. It's true. If even one bot dies, everyone is automatically disqualified from getting a rare. If that happens, quickly jump to another server and try and join another event that has 5 alive bots before it ends.
@@Buderbukz Been trying to jump in between events to do it twice in a hour. Your timing has to be perfect. Every time I tried, the Event already been done for and everyone gone. Do you have to wait for the awards to show up before you jump or the completion notice?
@@fnusecurity5112 In the scenario I stated, if any bot dies, immediately jump, do not wait for rewards. Leave the server and join another asap. If you are just trying to jump servers to get in more events, "no bots died", then yes wait for rewards before jumping. It isn't easy to find an event that hasn't finished on another server, but it can be done.
Say for example the super mutant stage a bot dies, leave right away and try a new server. There is absolutely no point staying on the server with dead bots as you will not even be in the running for a rare.
Actually you could argue that AFKers aren't interacting much with the area (no weapons fired, etc.), so they probably have less impact on the speed of the server than ones who are actually playing. Yes, the growing mask pool has been making getting any particular mask that much harder. I think Bethesda should have rethought the drop rate before doing this. Thanks for the video.
Also if adding more masks instead of 1 a hour they should do twice an hour or stating time instead of 7mins to talk to mc make it 10 mins so we can do double dips easier
I have played and afk 120 times and only got 1 glowing... they are right about as the pool grows the chances of getting the rares go way down...they should of demoted the older rare masks to uncommon the old uncommon to common... then you will have a better chance of actually getting the new rares!

Great video, I finally got a rare mask today, a death claw one. Was AFK for 99% as had to make food but helped end the sloth and wolves. Might try that again!

@@seccosec yeah I've played a couple of the events and not hit anything as some had one tap guns. Annoying but what's worse is when people spam the fat man and you cant see anything. At least you still get something from the sloth even if did not hit him.
All the old school players hate this event it's slow and boring and takes too long. With the horrible drop rate more and more people are going to go afk. I've been playing since beta and this is the first year I've gone afk. I've done the event around 200 times this season and only got 1 rare mask and the new plans I've probably gotten about 10.
Really enjoyed the breakdown. This event is always interesting lol. Toxicity is always up the roof the first week. After it kinda dies down. At least what ive always noticed. Anyway been very lucky this year… and all my rares attained via: AFK!! However when you afk, I got you with my quad rail explosive, nothing gets passed me. And of course a fire healing weapon.

This is my first time participating in the event, missed out the other year and it sucks trying to get the old rare mask. I end up dropping all the common and uncommon ones cause i dont need a shit load of them😂
Yeah, you know we wish that they would put the old masks up in the Atomic Shop and offer only new ones during the event. That would make A LOT more sense.
I don't really care but I do go out of my way to push them out of the event with a chainsaw or just by moving them when there running around a circle just by standing in there way to move them out of the event lmao
Started playing just a few weeks ago, Honestly would pay in any ingame items or even real money to get a Deathclaw mask, this RNG trash is just not worth it, knowing that odds of getting the only mask I want is 0.33% is depressing...

I been playing since the event started and only got 2 rare mask 1 crazy guy 1 glowing blue devil and i been getting on every hour on the hour and ever since i got the rares its been nothing but garbage
i run 2 ps4s, 2 accounts. i run the event with one while the other plays tuba. sometimes they both play tubas, on dufferent servers. afk etiquette: play musical instrument or hide really good and don't wear a rare mask. people can push you out of the event, or lure enemies in to kill you, or nuke it. seeing a bunch of dorks spinning with your precious masks on bumms people out and makes them want to mess with you.
Ive ran event every hour for 14-16 hrs a day since it began. First 2 days i got all the rare masks from last year and a glowing. Since day 2 i havent got anything but uncommon/common. Like a switch was flipped on me. Bunch of bs. 😂
I know it’s anecdotal but I swear 70% of the players who I see have glowing masks are under level 50. There has to be a correlation with your level and the drop rate. Almost feels as if Bethesda gives newer players a better drop rate.
Finally got my first damn glowing mask after 10 days of afk/ playing event .... i only have got rares while afk but.....i wanted the honey bee glowing one and instead got the regular sb ....meh....oh well i got one to trade off at least
I've run it 84 times (no AFK) and still no rare masks. LOL A friend has run it 1/2 that many times and has 2 of them. Doesn't matter, I'm just enjoying the challenge of the potential.
I heard from my cousin's girlfriend's mother's ex-neighbor's son's former-best-friend's uncle that if you eat a Fasnacht donut just before the effigy is burnt, you get a better chance at the rare masks.
I just realized the new glowing masks are in the same category of rare masks so in that case I have a total of 4 rare masks only one of them were glowing
I afk the WHOLE event. Using a old PS4 and a fan for cooling. I took off the plastic body of the ps4. In the whole week and a half of the event I have gotten. 2 Glowing Blue Devil. 1 Loon. 1 Brahim. 2 crazy guys….
Just got my first glowing mask ( non-queen scorchbeast ). Have run the event probably 20-30 times. Just happy I got the first one under my belt, now everything else is gravy IMHO. Also got a father winter helmet.
Ahhh yes... we hear more and more about that one in the comments. I doubt that there's any weight to it. Who would go through the trouble of programming that? I think it's just that when newbies get good loot, bigger players feel scammed and talk about it a lot. Hence the rumor. -NP
I usually play the game three or four hours a day and I think I've received more berets than anything else. Owl, Jester, Skull and (in the last couple of days) Scorchbeast masks have been dropping for me. I've also made a few caps selling radtoad and wolf meat to the vendors

I think they should move some of the old rare masks from the rare pool to the uncommon pool when they introduce new ones. Based on popularity, move say the Raven, Winter Man, etc. out of the rare pool. I'm not convinced that there isn't a sub-category in the rare pool. This is my first Fasnacht and I've gotten the Raven, Brahmin, Winter Man and Hag from the rare category. No glowing or loon (the ones everyone wants)
Also add the fact that trading sucks in this game so trying to just trade for 1 is shady. Seems the only guaranteed method is to buy it with real cash....
My girlfriend and I played at least 40 events and she’s gotten 4 rare masks with me getting 0. I think it’s just based on luck sadly. You have that 5% chance every game so if I play 20 games the odds of me getting a rare would still be 5% every game.
I've gone though their customer support team about the slowdown and crashing, they insist it is your own personal fault, and it can be fixed by rebuilding my PS5 database in safe mode and fully reinstalling the game. The support staff is delusional!

Thank you for doing this "research". Anyone with basic statistic knowledge wouldve known already about the chances and how the game works, but you're helping more people understand (and it's not gonna do much if you're AFK-ing). It also makes me feel better for not wanting to do AFK while working or sleeping lol goes both ways. All of the tinfoil theories are wrong of course, but the issue that never being mentioned when we focus on AFK is when only a handful of active players are around vs LOTS of AFK, and then the enemy spawn increased, and there's a chance one robot will die, hence ruining the statistic of getting the rare mask. Ive been in that situation and if I didnt have friendly fire, I know for sure at least one robot would die.
Yes, indeed. When it comes to AFKers outnumbering the players, simply bounce to a different server untill you get a better one. The one only with AFKers will fail and they'll move too. -NP

I’ve run this event over 142 times so far. I keep the masks until Fasnacht is over and run a tally. So far I have over 8 rare drops and no duplicates this year. Run this video again afterwards and I will update my tally.
@@Gamer_Aviator I uhhh.. I did. I don’t remember you mentioning everyone logging on at the same time. Just a lot of players being in 1 location. With each player having to load, render, and have sound to effects, explosions, and other players
i agree with you that the additional load of people spawning into the server at event time can cause problems. i've noticed the last few times that i was nuked out or the game crashed, and i tried to rejoin a server within the first 10 minutes of the event starting, that i get put onto a new, empty server where the event never started. i don't know if that's a new development or if i'm just unlucky at trying to get into a server and hit the end of the event. - oskapt
I'm over 100 runs and still not 1 rare mask. I'm close to 125, last time I counted I had 115 masks. This is my 1st year playing so I don't have any leftover masks. 😢 my RNG luck SUCKS!! I a big fan of shiny hunting pokemon and collecting blind box art toys. So I'm no stranger to odds game. But damn it's never been this bad for me. I just want 1 rare mask before the event ends. This event is actually one of the reason I started play the game.
Yeah, that really does suck. We think they shouldn't offer old masks as game rewards at all. Stick'em in the Atomic Shop. Run ONLY new masks for all. Are you on PS5? We'd be happy to give you a rare mask.
So, basically, Bethesda did their math, and they wanted players to be more present on the servers (even with bad performance as a result) and they still succeeded and didn't care for anything else. In my case, i did like 100 or so fas events and 10% of those were strict afk ones, and i only got Bafoon mask from second event from start, nothing rare since..
Yeah... if they wanted more players on servers, I would think they would also offer better server support. The servers can barely handle 24 people playing... -NP
It's NOT a straight up 5% to get a rare. The uncommon drop more due to Bugthesda changing the loot pool a couple years ago. You don't get a rare every 20 or so runs. If it was straight 5% you would have close to 20 rare. The chances of the other masks override the rare most times. Then out of those you have different odds of the different masks in that particular pool. The chances for a rare to drop are actually 0.03whatever %. I don't remember the exact number. They have added too many masks to the loot pool and never changed the odds for a rare so the odds keeps getting much smaller each year. I've been playing for a few years and the only masks I have is 1 loon and 1 glowing blue devil.
Got one glowing mask at a nuked event and nothing since, jesters toothies etc. Not bothering now just ignoring the event and all those wasted nukes. Couple of days to go. Happy Fastnacht
idk. why dont yall just play the game? ive come across super rare masks just playing when i can. masks ive read were mad rare (i.e. forest/urban scout masks, glowing scorchbeast queen, &more) i rly just came up on by playing for 2-4 hours at a time. im sure everyone has better things to do but yk, thats fine??
The whole argument AFK farmers give is they have full time jobs and have to pay bills and do not have time to play so if AFK farmers where kicked from servers then yes the servers would be a lot less laggy being those 12-19 afk farmers would not be online. So yes in a way AFK farmers do lag out servers by being on 24/7 or as long as possible between game/server crashes. But then they get back on.
The lower levels get better loot too. Saw a level 84 with 4 glowing masks and a deathclaw mask. Bunch of other levels 25-90 have atleast 1 rare mask. It’s infuriating that this is my first fasn event at level 247 and can’t land a single rare mask. OH but they add variants to the atomic shop 😂. So so so rigged and needs to be fixed. That 5% chance is a lie
On day 2 I got back to back glowing masks (unicorn, pig) then nothing of note for 6 days. Yesterday I got back to back motorized butter churns. Then the lat 4 runs I got nothing of note again. I have been keeping all the dropped items and plan to calculate the drops of the items I got. Then I will be selling really dirt cheap or giving them away after the event.
The only time you get worse loot because of AFKrs is when there 27 people spinning and all your robots die except 1 cause no one is helping. Edit: ive done fasnacht about 200 tomes and havent got a glowing but my buddy fenix has got 3 glowing unicorns literally in a row, same day and everything. Its the only reason i have one lol.
I have been afk'i g as much as I can and I only got 4 rare masks but all on Friday and 2 were glows that were back to back. Outside of Friday all my other masks have been common and uncommon. The RNG in this game is just a pain in B-hole

I've run the event almost 200 times now and have YET to get a rare mask. Mixture of participation and AFK. I'm really starting to think that each character, when created, has a hidden Luck/RNG stat. I'm level 208 with a base Luck stat of 15 and playing with Unyielding armor set, so Luck is over 30, and I have yet to get a Perfectly Preserved Pie from any location. I haven't been able to craft a legendary stat that I needed onto a piece of armor/weapon since I started playing, and my general loot drops are never useful for any build I run. I've seen people the first few days of the event getting glowing masks as their 1st-5th completion reward, and now most of the people I'm seeing AFK are wearing glowing SBQ masks and such. I think the only way to test the theory of a hidden luck/rng stat is to create a new character and run the event, but since the time is running out, it would be difficult to get a quality sample size to confirm the hypothesis. Just my $0.02
I'll still take AFK'ers over the people who wear chameleon effect armour, crouch down behind the donation box and use a program to mash the "Take All" button for hours on end.
I so got the glowing scorch beast mask which I'm happy about. I've played the games pretty much from the beginning of the game and first 2 years running it never got a rare mask not until last year did I get all the Common masks.
I've done the event about 30 times now. Haven't got a single rare mask. Got so many uncommon ones I've been dropping them for the guys I play with. Still haven't seen that butter churn either
I have 3, i got 2 at 7am, and 1 at 7pm. I think you have a higher chance at getting it, but only if you've been in the same server for a few hours. At least that's how I've done it. That or Bethesda raised the odds.
4 months later "current one in June" and Fasnact is still dismal, even worse than the previous event in Feb featured in this video, from 0.3% in Feb down to 0.2% in June.
Ive done it well over 100 times so far using my character and afking my fiancees character and still no glowing mask or even just a rare mask. Either i have the worlds worst luck or the drop rates are insanely low!
I gotten so far 1 glowing blue devil , 1 glowing honey beast, 1 crazy guy , 10 blue devil, 10 honey beast, 10 s.beast , 10 s beast queen. Just by random joining event.
To add onto this video, people should be looking at this events loot drop chance like a gacha game or like destiny/borderlands. The reason these drop chanced don't change from anything you do is because the drop chance is tied to a systum randomizer. Gacha games a very similar because they host these shop sellers usually called banners that sell a particular character or weapon a a fixed, randomized percentage rate (and by law they have to publish those ratee to players). Many people have tried many methods to increase the drop rates, and swear up and down that their "rituals" do work, but in reality unless the game company changes the randomizer's code it won't change for anyone. Same thing for borderlands or destiny, you can spend months doing raids or bosses but because of their games randomizer code, they might never get the right weapon or roll of a weapon. The who reason they do this is to keep people playing their game. If a gamess too easy or loots too easy to get or can be duped, no one's going to be playing it after a year. If the games too harsh on difficulty or rewards people will strait up quit and never play it again. A randomizer is both a equalizer of luck and a unconscious stop sign to keep players from ruining the game themselves. So long as players have something to Chase, without feeling their being cheated, they are less likely to get upset about results and less likely to try to cheat th systum.
It's funny to see conspiracy theories popping for these things, it's no different from any other event you have a drop rate for each possible reward and that's all. Getting all the rare masks is statistically close to impossible. Unless of course you are extremely lucky, same as lottery. In addition running the event a certain amount of times doesn't guarantee anything either. Your odds are the same each time. Considering this, don't expect also to get the ones you didn't drop in player vendors later either. If you see someone selling a lot of these rare ones they are more than likely not legit.
I've done this every year, easily over 500 times, mostly on afk (because I've done my share of active participation, so leave me alone) I still don't have all the old masks, I've gotten 2 glowing honeybeasts masks this year....and that's it for rares -_-

I hate hearing people bragging about there glowing masks in there first and second event while ive done every event for a week and got 200 uncommon , 50 common and 3 rare masks from previous seasons. I swear rng hates my character. Got a bell, the rack and stein and the effigy....hell got multiples....guess ill be selling those.
Some people should really get a life. It’s just a game item most will only wear until the next new one. And just for showing off… They really got you by the b… Afk’ing is costing you more in power (and co2) than the actual game. It’s gonna be funny to see B drop those items in the shop next year 😂
I’ve run this event close to 200 times or more and I’ve only gotten 2 rare masks there is no way the actual drop rate is 5% because it would be easy to get most if not all the rare masks. I’ve been using multiple accounts to afk fasnacht and switching on the hour to get three masks an hour and I’ve gotten two, I definitely think the 5% drop rate is bs and I think that the drop rate is wildly variable between who plays I’ve heard people say they’ve gotten 0 rate masks running it close to 100 times and I’ve heard people who collected all the masks in week one so while I do not think the drop rate is 5 percent I do think I’ve been unlucky which is really disappointing that Bethesda says that the drop rates are 5 percent but for most players if you run it 20 times this week you won’t get a mask, if you run the event 5 times what you should need to to get a rare masks you’ll only get one or two, I’ve heard a lot more people being unlucky this year than lucky so my assumption is that for any rare mask drop it’s a lot closer to 1% or 2% of the time you get a rare mask I definitely noticed the common masks drop less than the uncommon masks without being told, I’ve probably completed this event more than 200-250 probably getting close to 300 if not past that and just shit drops. Neither of the two masks I got were ones from this year anyways so it sucks, haven’t even gotten the most rare masks, also will say I highly highly highly doubt that each rare mask has the same drop rate because I have seen a very unproportional amount of rare masks, I have seen 2024 masks more than anything, the popular masks a lot as well but then most of the rare masks that aren’t loon or 2024 or the other few popular ones no one is wearing them, I don’t know if it’s because they are getting them and just not wearing them because it’s not what they wanted but only certain masks seem to be dropping this year at higher donates than other rare masks, of course non of this is fully statistical info I didn’t write my chances down but I have definitely noticed that what people say about this event online is bs and the drops are a lot more random than people think some people with really good chances most people with really bad chances and that there’s just no real way to know since Bethesda hasn’t said that they are more rare than 5 percent, I personally think there should probably be some type of fail safe so that if the masks drop a certain amount that if you don’t get any rare masks like after 20 40 or 60 tries you guaranteed get one, I think that’s fair for people who farm this event a lot they are guaranteed at least one rare masks.

I got the four uncommon new masks early on, when it started, since then, nothing but repeat common skull, giant, and witch. Nothing else. And it is frustrating the hell out of me. I drop every common and uncommon mask i get now, and people scoop them up. I wish someone else would ever drop any glowing one..anyone at all. I'm not greedy.
I run my ps5 level 998, and I just got 1 glowing mask, and I do the events. I afk my ps4 level 50, and I got 6 glowing masks and 3 old rare.so if I only had one playstation and high level I would of been upset I guess.

I've literally only had regular sbq and regular honey bee masks drop from new stuff. I had to buy reg blue devil, reg scorchbeast and 2 of the new plans from player vendors. All I want from fasnacht is a glowing sbq and glowing honey bee dammit. Also why wouldn't wastelanders check out this crazy robot parade, at least settlers and maybe raiders. How about revamping the actual event thats not been touched since it launched 5 YEARS ago. I like Helvetia all peaceful without the scorched, maybe add npc's to talk to even if its just easy rudimentary quests/dialogue and limited to just Fasnachts weeks.

I have marched in 30+ Fasnacht Events so far this year and not one Rare Mask has dropped for me yet. The odds have not been in my favor.
I will say, one of those events failed because no one had a God-Weapon in the 4-man group that actually walked in the parade (11 AFKers in the area though) and 3 Robots died at the very end (glowing wolves tore them to pieces) . AFKers need to participate in the event for the event to be successful, or no one will ever get rare masks.
Ultimately this years Fasnacht has been very frustrating for me. :)
The common masks are tied to how many bots survive. Players are so good at getting the bots to live that most times the odds are in favor of getting the uncommon ones. If some die then it becomes in favor of the common masks.
If 1 bot dies, you lose all chances at getting a rare
As darthsilversith667 as said. It's true. If even one bot dies, everyone is automatically disqualified from getting a rare. If that happens, quickly jump to another server and try and join another event that has 5 alive bots before it ends.
@@Buderbukz Been trying to jump in between events to do it twice in a hour. Your timing has to be perfect. Every time I tried, the Event already been done for and everyone gone. Do you have to wait for the awards to show up before you jump or the completion notice?
@@fnusecurity5112 In the scenario I stated, if any bot dies, immediately jump, do not wait for rewards. Leave the server and join another asap. If you are just trying to jump servers to get in more events, "no bots died", then yes wait for rewards before jumping. It isn't easy to find an event that hasn't finished on another server, but it can be done.
Say for example the super mutant stage a bot dies, leave right away and try a new server. There is absolutely no point staying on the server with dead bots as you will not even be in the running for a rare.
I have fully participated in over 40 events and nada, so now I do actually afk it,why bust my ass for nothing.
Plus when you try to do the event people kill everything in less than a second so it's just better not to take part in the event.
Bright light explosions blind my eyes and afk I go.
Also the less controls I push the more stable my connection and less crashes.
Actually you could argue that AFKers aren't interacting much with the area (no weapons fired, etc.), so they probably have less impact on the speed of the server than ones who are actually playing. Yes, the growing mask pool has been making getting any particular mask that much harder. I think Bethesda should have rethought the drop rate before doing this. Thanks for the video.

I have played and afk 120 times and only got 1 glowing... they are right about as the pool grows the chances of getting the rares go way down...they should of demoted the older rare masks to uncommon the old uncommon to common... then you will have a better chance of actually getting the new rares!

Great video, I finally got a rare mask today, a death claw one. Was AFK for 99% as had to make food but helped end the sloth and wolves. Might try that again!

@@seccosec yeah I've played a couple of the events and not hit anything as some had one tap guns. Annoying but what's worse is when people spam the fat man and you cant see anything. At least you still get something from the sloth even if did not hit him.

All the old school players hate this event it's slow and boring and takes too long. With the horrible drop rate more and more people are going to go afk. I've been playing since beta and this is the first year I've gone afk. I've done the event around 200 times this season and only got 1 rare mask and the new plans I've probably gotten about 10.
Got 1 glowing atm, But, got god roll fixer from rewards xD I think my rng luck has been drained with that

Really enjoyed the breakdown. This event is always interesting lol. Toxicity is always up the roof the first week. After it kinda dies down. At least what ive always noticed. Anyway been very lucky this year… and all my rares attained via: AFK!! However when you afk, I got you with my quad rail explosive, nothing gets passed me. And of course a fire healing weapon.

I been playing since the event started and only got 2 rare mask 1 crazy guy 1 glowing blue devil and i been getting on every hour on the hour and ever since i got the rares its been nothing but garbage
i run 2 ps4s, 2 accounts. i run the event with one while the other plays tuba. sometimes they both play tubas, on dufferent servers. afk etiquette: play musical instrument or hide really good and don't wear a rare mask. people can push you out of the event, or lure enemies in to kill you, or nuke it. seeing a bunch of dorks spinning with your precious masks on bumms people out and makes them want to mess with you.

Ive ran event every hour for 14-16 hrs a day since it began. First 2 days i got all the rare masks from last year and a glowing. Since day 2 i havent got anything but uncommon/common. Like a switch was flipped on me. Bunch of bs. 😂

I know it’s anecdotal but I swear 70% of the players who I see have glowing masks are under level 50. There has to be a correlation with your level and the drop rate. Almost feels as if Bethesda gives newer players a better drop rate.

I was also afk for all of the events besides 5 when the event first launched
I just realized the new glowing masks are in the same category of rare masks so in that case I have a total of 4 rare masks only one of them were glowing
I ran the event 83 times and only got the winter man mask but I’m not complaining

I afk the WHOLE event. Using a old PS4 and a fan for cooling. I took off the plastic body of the ps4. In the whole week and a half of the event I have gotten. 2 Glowing Blue Devil. 1 Loon. 1 Brahim. 2 crazy guys….

Just got my first glowing mask ( non-queen scorchbeast ). Have run the event probably 20-30 times. Just happy I got the first one under my belt, now everything else is gravy IMHO. Also got a father winter helmet.

I usually play the game three or four hours a day and I think I've received more berets than anything else. Owl, Jester, Skull and (in the last couple of days) Scorchbeast masks have been dropping for me. I've also made a few caps selling radtoad and wolf meat to the vendors

I think they should move some of the old rare masks from the rare pool to the uncommon pool when they introduce new ones. Based on popularity, move say the Raven, Winter Man, etc. out of the rare pool. I'm not convinced that there isn't a sub-category in the rare pool. This is my first Fasnacht and I've gotten the Raven, Brahmin, Winter Man and Hag from the rare category. No glowing or loon (the ones everyone wants)

My girlfriend and I played at least 40 events and she’s gotten 4 rare masks with me getting 0. I think it’s just based on luck sadly. You have that 5% chance every game so if I play 20 games the odds of me getting a rare would still be 5% every game.
I've gone though their customer support team about the slowdown and crashing, they insist it is your own personal fault, and it can be fixed by rebuilding my PS5 database in safe mode and fully reinstalling the game.

Thank you for doing this "research". Anyone with basic statistic knowledge wouldve known already about the chances and how the game works, but you're helping more people understand (and it's not gonna do much if you're AFK-ing). It also makes me feel better for not wanting to do AFK while working or sleeping lol goes both ways. All of the tinfoil theories are wrong of course, but the issue that never being mentioned when we focus on AFK is when only a handful of active players are around vs LOTS of AFK, and then the enemy spawn increased, and there's a chance one robot will die, hence ruining the statistic of getting the rare mask. Ive been in that situation and if I didnt have friendly fire, I know for sure at least one robot would die.

I’ve run this event over 142 times so far. I keep the masks until Fasnacht is over and run a tally. So far I have over 8 rare drops and no duplicates this year. Run this video again afterwards and I will update my tally.
For Fo76 servers running slow due to AFKers there’s also people who join the game when the game starts. It’s insane how bad loading times become

i agree with you that the additional load of people spawning into the server at event time can cause problems. i've noticed the last few times that i was nuked out or the game crashed, and i tried to rejoin a server within the first 10 minutes of the event starting, that i get put onto a new, empty server where the event never started. i don't know if that's a new development or if i'm just unlucky at trying to get into a server and hit the end of the event. - oskapt

I'm over 100 runs and still not 1 rare mask. I'm close to 125, last time I counted I had 115 masks. This is my 1st year playing so I don't have any leftover masks. 😢 my RNG luck SUCKS!! I a big fan of shiny hunting pokemon and collecting blind box art toys. So I'm no stranger to odds game. But damn it's never been this bad for me. I just want 1 rare mask before the event ends. This event is actually one of the reason I started play the game.

So, basically, Bethesda did their math, and they wanted players to be more present on the servers (even with bad performance as a result) and they still succeeded and didn't care for anything else.
In my case, i did like 100 or so fas events and 10% of those were strict afk ones, and i only got Bafoon mask from second event from start, nothing rare since..
Yeah... if they wanted more players on servers, I would think they would also offer better server support. The servers can barely handle 24 people playing... -NP

It's NOT a straight up 5% to get a rare. The uncommon drop more due to Bugthesda changing the loot pool a couple years ago. You don't get a rare every 20 or so runs. If it was straight 5% you would have close to 20 rare. The chances of the other masks override the rare most times. Then out of those you have different odds of the different masks in that particular pool. The chances for a rare to drop are actually 0.03whatever %. I don't remember the exact number. They have added too many masks to the loot pool and never changed the odds for a rare so the odds keeps getting much smaller each year. I've been playing for a few years and the only masks I have is 1 loon and 1 glowing blue devil.
Got one glowing mask at a nuked event and nothing since, jesters toothies etc. Not bothering now just ignoring the event and all those wasted nukes. Couple of days to go. Happy Fastnacht
idk. why dont yall just play the game? ive come across super rare masks just playing when i can. masks ive read were mad rare (i.e. forest/urban scout masks, glowing scorchbeast queen, &more) i rly just came up on by playing for 2-4 hours at a time. im sure everyone has better things to do but yk, thats fine??
The whole argument AFK farmers give is they have full time jobs and have to pay bills and do not have time to play so if AFK farmers where kicked from servers then yes the servers would be a lot less laggy being those 12-19 afk farmers would not be online. So yes in a way AFK farmers do lag out servers by being on 24/7 or as long as possible between game/server crashes. But then they get back on.
The lower levels get better loot too. Saw a level 84 with 4 glowing masks and a deathclaw mask. Bunch of other levels 25-90 have atleast 1 rare mask. It’s infuriating that this is my first fasn event at level 247 and can’t land a single rare mask. OH but they add variants to the atomic shop 😂. So so so rigged and needs to be fixed. That 5% chance is a lie

On day 2 I got back to back glowing masks (unicorn, pig) then nothing of note for 6 days. Yesterday I got back to back motorized butter churns. Then the lat 4 runs I got nothing of note again. I have been keeping all the dropped items and plan to calculate the drops of the items I got. Then I will be selling really dirt cheap or giving them away after the event.
The only time you get worse loot because of AFKrs is when there 27 people spinning and all your robots die except 1 cause no one is helping.
Edit: ive done fasnacht about 200 tomes and havent got a glowing but my buddy fenix has got 3 glowing unicorns literally in a row, same day and everything. Its the only reason i have one lol.

I have been afk'i g as much as I can and I only got 4 rare masks but all on Friday and 2 were glows that were back to back. Outside of Friday all my other masks have been common and uncommon. The RNG in this game is just a pain in B-hole

I've run the event almost 200 times now and have YET to get a rare mask. Mixture of participation and AFK. I'm really starting to think that each character, when created, has a hidden Luck/RNG stat. I'm level 208 with a base Luck stat of 15 and playing with Unyielding armor set, so Luck is over 30, and I have yet to get a Perfectly Preserved Pie from any location. I haven't been able to craft a legendary stat that I needed onto a piece of armor/weapon since I started playing, and my general loot drops are never useful for any build I run.
I've seen people the first few days of the event getting glowing masks as their 1st-5th completion reward, and now most of the people I'm seeing AFK are wearing glowing SBQ masks and such. I think the only way to test the theory of a hidden luck/rng stat is to create a new character and run the event, but since the time is running out, it would be difficult to get a quality sample size to confirm the hypothesis.

I'll still take AFK'ers over the people who wear chameleon effect armour, crouch down behind the donation box and use a program to mash the "Take All" button for hours on end.
I so got the glowing scorch beast mask which I'm happy about. I've played the games pretty much from the beginning of the game and first 2 years running it never got a rare mask not until last year did I get all the Common masks.
I've done the event about 30 times now. Haven't got a single rare mask. Got so many uncommon ones I've been dropping them for the guys I play with. Still haven't seen that butter churn either

I have 3, i got 2 at 7am, and 1 at 7pm. I think you have a higher chance at getting it, but only if you've been in the same server for a few hours. At least that's how I've done it. That or Bethesda raised the odds.

4 months later "current one in June" and Fasnact is still dismal, even worse than the previous event in Feb featured in this video, from 0.3% in Feb down to 0.2% in June.
Ive done it well over 100 times so far using my character and afking my fiancees character and still no glowing mask or even just a rare mask. Either i have the worlds worst luck or the drop rates are insanely low!
I gotten so far 1 glowing blue devil , 1 glowing honey beast, 1 crazy guy , 10 blue devil, 10 honey beast, 10 s.beast , 10 s beast queen. Just by random joining event.
To add onto this video, people should be looking at this events loot drop chance like a gacha game or like destiny/borderlands. The reason these drop chanced don't change from anything you do is because the drop chance is tied to a systum randomizer. Gacha games a very similar because they host these shop sellers usually called banners that sell a particular character or weapon a a fixed, randomized percentage rate (and by law they have to publish those ratee to players). Many people have tried many methods to increase the drop rates, and swear up and down that their "rituals" do work, but in reality unless the game company changes the randomizer's code it won't change for anyone. Same thing for borderlands or destiny, you can spend months doing raids or bosses but because of their games randomizer code, they might never get the right weapon or roll of a weapon.
The who reason they do this is to keep people playing their game. If a gamess too easy or loots too easy to get or can be duped, no one's going to be playing it after a year. If the games too harsh on difficulty or rewards people will strait up quit and never play it again. A randomizer is both a equalizer of luck and a unconscious stop sign to keep players from ruining the game themselves. So long as players have something to Chase, without feeling their being cheated, they are less likely to get upset about results and less likely to try to cheat th systum.
It's funny to see conspiracy theories popping for these things, it's no different from any other event you have a drop rate for each possible reward and that's all. Getting all the rare masks is statistically close to impossible. Unless of course you are extremely lucky, same as lottery. In addition running the event a certain amount of times doesn't guarantee anything either. Your odds are the same each time. Considering this, don't expect also to get the ones you didn't drop in player vendors later either. If you see someone selling a lot of these rare ones they are more than likely not legit.
I've done this every year, easily over 500 times, mostly on afk (because I've done my share of active participation, so leave me alone) I still don't have all the old masks, I've gotten 2 glowing honeybeasts masks this year....and that's it for rares -_-

I’ve been using multiple accounts to afk fasnacht and switching on the hour to get three masks an hour and I’ve gotten two, I definitely think the 5% drop rate is bs and I think that the drop rate is wildly variable between who plays I’ve heard people say they’ve gotten 0 rate masks running it close to 100 times and I’ve heard people who collected all the masks in week one so while I do not think the drop rate is 5 percent I do think I’ve been unlucky which is really disappointing that Bethesda says that the drop rates are 5 percent but for most players if you run it 20 times this week you won’t get a mask, if you run the event 5 times what you should need to to get a rare masks you’ll only get one or two, I’ve heard a lot more people being unlucky this year than lucky so my assumption is that for any rare mask drop it’s a lot closer to 1% or 2% of the time you get a rare mask I definitely noticed the common masks drop less than the uncommon masks without being told, I’ve probably completed this event more than 200-250 probably getting close to 300 if not past that and just shit drops. Neither of the two masks I got were ones from this year anyways so it sucks, haven’t even gotten the most rare masks, also will say I highly highly highly doubt that each rare mask has the same drop rate because I have seen a very unproportional amount of rare masks, I have seen 2024 masks more than anything, the popular masks a lot as well but then most of the rare masks that aren’t loon or 2024 or the other few popular ones no one is wearing them, I don’t know if it’s because they are getting them and just not wearing them because it’s not what they wanted but only certain masks seem to be dropping this year at higher donates than other rare masks, of course non of this is fully statistical info I didn’t write my chances down but I have definitely noticed that what people say about this event online is bs and the drops are a lot more random than people think some people with really good chances most people with really bad chances and that there’s just no real way to know since Bethesda hasn’t said that they are more rare than 5 percent, I personally think there should probably be some type of fail safe so that if the masks drop a certain amount that if you don’t get any rare masks like after 20 40 or 60 tries you guaranteed get one, I think that’s fair for people who farm this event a lot they are guaranteed at least one rare masks.
You were talking about Bethesda doesn't move unless money is involved..the lower level would fit categorically to promote the game itself...just another theory.
I got the four uncommon new masks early on, when it started, since then, nothing but repeat common skull, giant, and witch. Nothing else. And it is frustrating the hell out of me. I drop every common and uncommon mask i get now, and people scoop them up. I wish someone else would ever drop any glowing one..anyone at all. I'm not greedy.
I run my ps5 level 998, and I just got 1 glowing mask, and I do the events. I afk my ps4 level 50, and I got 6 glowing masks and 3 old rare.so if I only had one playstation and high level I would of been upset I guess.
I'm a new player to fallout 76.I got a fasnacht glowing scrorchbeast queen mask and didn't know it was rare sold it for 10 caps in my vendo lol😅
