      Good and evil can sometimes be relative to a person. If you are someone who simply thinks something is evil because it's loud then to you it will be evil even though it actually isn't. But if you are also someone who thinks something is evil just because it's loud chances are it's simply because you are probably just old lol.

    I was brought into orthodox Christianity through Christian black and death metal, bands like crimson moonlight, antestor and mortification inspired me to pick up the bible and regain my faith I lost when I was in my early teens.

    I will never forget when my mom heard me listening to The Devil Wears Prada. Like any concerned mom, she wanted to read the lyrics. She came back later and said, wow that is not what I was expecting.

    just had a thought about the "Growl like a demon" example... wouldn't you say Satan is very clever in how he tempts people? think about it. Many of the evil things in society have a good or pleasing appearance. A pretty face leading to impure actions, materialistic things we do not need, but make life more convenient, etc.... the point is temptation and Satan hide as something that seems pleasing (for example the pop music today that is often about sex and drugs)... so you can't really say screaming vocals sound like a demon.. just a thought!

      i think the best way to decide if its satanic or not, is to see how ur feelings respond to it when u listen to stuff that ur unsure about. For example when i first heard Tithemi by Sleeping Giant, i cried cuz i could relly feel christ in this song. I have never felt so clear about a song. And since then i can fully trust my feelings when it comes to music :)

      +Big T Welcome to #METALCROSS! You are absolutely right! People accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, not bands. It's a personal decision. There are Christian artists who play in secular bands and non-Christians that play in Christian bands. So the definition is what the band members decide as a group...what their true message is all about. Here at METAL-CROSS, we only cover bands the proclaim they are a "Christian" band. That doesn't mean that every member is a Christian (although usually that is the case), but that is how the band has decided to represent themselves. Thanks for visiting the channel!

    Evil? Nope. How can it be when the music is basically another form of praising the Lord? Everyone has their own way of worship & connecting with God. Whenever I listen to metal or some other obscure music genre, I'm constantly amazed by God's creation in the things he's given us.Yes, heavy metal is part of God's creation. It all depends on how or who we use it for.

    I am not Christian but Christian metal is the best genre. Black metal talks about suicide etc. but Christian metal provides with a sense of enlightment and motivation.

      Yeah dude I agree, I am Christian and starting my Black/Unblack project right as we speak and the amount of "hmm's" and "oh can that be Christian" are quite amazing, but I practice resilience so my answers are usually "pssh yes of course!" But for sure check out (all Christian) - Vials of Wrath, Like Dust, Azmaveth, Antestor, Anima Mortuum, Daygraves, Crimson Moonlight, Frosthardr, Skalf in Veum. That's my Black/Unblack go to's!

    To those who argue that Christian metal is evil because it sounds like secular metal, then does that mean Christian hymns are evil because they sound like pagan hymns? Give me your best shot, fundamentalists.
    Several Christmas carols use plagiarized pagan melodies and sometimes even some of their lyrics. There is no genre which is free of pagan, satanic or anti-christian artists, but conversely there is also no genre which is entirely pagan, satanic or anti-christian - not even black metal.

      This is true. Many Christian hymns used folkloric music and just used christian based lyrics. "O Holy Night" was literally created by an Atheist and its still sung in Churches all around the world and no one gives a damn. So how can I judge a Christian Metalist if in their heart they believe they're doing the right thing to reach people of the metal crowd? I mean I can't see Christian Metal being a thing in a regular church service due to lack of reverence. Cuz lets be honest none of that is reverent in any way lol But if it can point people of that crowd to Jesus how can I outright condemn it?

    I watched another video about this topic and it brought up a good point. If metal is considered "evil" because of the aggressive riffs, distorted guitars, double bass, and "evil" sounding scales, would jazz and sax music not be considered Satanic because of its "sexy" sound?

    Thank you so much for making this video! I grew up in a Christian home but walked away from God at the beginning of high school and went down a very dark road. I also went to a stereotypical Christian school that taught that anything that involved an electric guitar was sinful music. I got into the secular metal bands when I walked away from God. But after an experience where I couldn't deny God anymore, I came back but I couldn't escape how much I enjoyed the music I had filled my life with. At the same time, I knew that this music does not glorify the God who adores me and calls me son. So I got into Christian metal and experienced a lot of persecution from brothers and sisters who considered it bad. This video is exactly what I try to explain to people.

    Music is music. It's how it's used and the message that is projected that makes it good or evil. If Christian metal brings at least one person to Christ, then the endeavor is worth it.

    Honestly in my opinion, as long as we do something to GLORIFY the name of the Lord, our Heavenly Father will approve of it. It's just simple as that. Whether you decide to accept it or not is entirely up to you. Nothing more nothing less.

    Thank you for sharing this metal cross. I've been enlightened because I'm confused if I'd go metal. I really love that kind of music. I know it's not pleasing to the ears of many people but what important is that we Praise Jesus out of our hearts content. And that's the most important, the heart and the intention.

      Let me tell you, I used to listen mostly to secular metal before becoming a follower, and after I accepted Christ I immediately realized that the music I was listening to was evil. (trust me some of that stuff truly was evil) I felt convicted about it and deleted all of it off my phone and laptop... etc. I started listening to just mainstream big Christian radio station music, and all that stuff is fine, but God didn't wanna change who I am, a metal head, He wanted to use who I am for His purpose, for His glory. I discovered the Christian metal scene, found some great music and have felt strengthening of my faith, deeper repentance and good conversations and friendships through it. There is freedom in Christ to use all sorts of things to praise the Lord, to glorify Him and advance His kingdom. I recently went to a For Today show, I was jumping around, moshing, head banging, and absolutely joyful in my heart for the Lord about it, and thought to myself how David danced with all his might for the Lord, and didn't care how foolish he seemed to others, as told in 2 Samuel, chapter 6. There is definitely liberty in Christ, and the difference now from what I was before becoming a follower is that I used to listen to metal because I was full of anger, misery, lust...etc. but now it's more like I'm full of passion for the Lord.
      This all does not happen over night, it's taken me a few years to gain this understanding. I'd advise being in prayer about it, talk with some other believers at your local church about it, let the Spirit of God minister to you in the things you should do, but don't let yourself just settle against your convictions.

      When I first became a Christian I was looking for more secular thrash metal as I wanted challenging lyrics as I was trying to form a secular dark thrash metal band in the vein of Testament and vocally inspired from TOOL.

    There are many people who enjoy heavy metal music that Christian metal bands produce. There is nothing wrong with any music produced by committed Christians who desire to communicate biblical truth. The Christian heavy metal music deals with the dark themes of death, pain, and spiritual warfare from a Christian perspective.
    While there are some who feel that the heavy, rhythmic bass, frenetic percussion, and high decibel levels of metal music have a negative effect on a person’s spiritual self, that is a controversial view without evidence. Unless the lyrics celebrate sin, the music itself is not sinful. This applies to Christian heavy metal music as well as to country, jazz, rap, pop, reggae, bluegrass, etc.
    The problem with Christian heavy metal music is sometimes one of association. In the hands of the unsaved world, heavy metal almost always embraces death and pain and suicide and drugs and anger (metal is very rarely “happy music”). Believers have to be careful not to get sucked into the culture of nihilism and antisocialism that metal usually promotes. While it is true that pain and death are a part of life, the key to overcoming those things is not anger or suicide or revenge. The answer is the gospel of Jesus Christ (Romans 1:16). There is nothing in the Bible that praises or glorifies death in the least, so neither should our music. Lyrics that violate biblical guidelines or celebrate or exalt sinful conduct are not appropriate for Christians.
    With any kind of music, including Christian heavy metal, we must ask, “Is the music glorifying Christ, or does it glorify anger, lust, demonism, or some other sinful thing?” The style of the music is really irrelevant. It’s what the music communicates to our hearts and minds that matters, either through lyrics or even through the notes and instruments themselves. No style of music is actually “wrong”; it’s what the musicians do with the music that makes it either “right” or “wrong.”
    Regardless of the genre of music one listens to, the believer is to exalt Christ. Philippians 4:8 gives us the description of what should be on our minds: “Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think about such things.” If heavy metal produced by Christian musicians falls under this description, then whether or not you listen to it is simply a matter of musical taste.

    man I just stumbled on to your site about 12 hours ago and I love it. when I gave my heart to christ back in 87 I was turned on to Petra, Stryper, and a little heavier Deliverance.(at the time) and what was explained to me was that it was all about the message and the praise of Jesus. where I got a little skeptical was the heavy vocals and driven energy of the riffs and hyper tempo with heavy pounding breakdowns pounding down. I realized something important. in our day and age we need to spread the word of god through any portal available. your testimonials are legit and your page has turned me on to bands I didn't know existed. Thanks a whole bunch.

    You could say that a tone-deaf person singing a hymn or a child playing "Jesus Loves Me" on the piano for the first time is just "noise" too. It's about perspective.
    I could post the lyrics to several Christian metal songs on my facebook wall, and they would look the same to all the older conservative church ladies I'm friends with as the Christian-radio-acceptable contemporary praise and worship songs. (and I still love you, older, conservative facebook friends)
    The first time I heard "screaming" in a Christian song, I was taken aback a little, but I realized that it added to to emotion the singer was trying to convey. It was a raw, desperate sound, and perfect for the song's message of crying out to God to bring them back from the darkness. It helps to know that in your darkest moments, someone else has felt the way you feel and in that moment, called out to God. More traditional songs might touch on those dark times in our lives, but I think the difference between the genres is the same as "showing" verses "telling".

      I'm with you on the moshing. However, "aggressive" lyrics are not a problem if they are not directed toward anyone in particular. We do not war against flesh and blood, but against rulers, authorities, and the dark spiritual forces in heavenly places. It seems like we have a license to be aggressive against those things. I cannot speak for the band you mentioned, but I fail to see how aggression in-of-itself is a bad thing.

I have found peace, joy, self-control, love and happiness in knowing Jesus Christ is King, as proclaimed in many heavy songs I enjoy. This NEEDED to be shouted to me, after being haunted for years by repetitive worship songs and lyrics, numbing me. Also, not all worship music is glorifying Christ or God..       I never said not being able to control oneself and/or being anger is a sin. Not implying those things at all. Getting angry has the potential to LEAD to sin! Being out of control LEADS to sin. Jesus of Nazareth who was like us in every way yet without knowing any sin (2 Cor 5:21; Heb 4:15), we acknowledge that his anger was PURE and RIGHTEOUS, with no taint of sin.
      James 1:19‒20 : Know this, my beloved brothers; let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God.
      We are to sing with joy in our heart to the Lord (Psalm 95:1) NOT anger. Reread about the 9 fruits of the Spirit, not one of them states anything about "wrath" and "anger" and out of control mosh pit behavior. What do you think Jesus would say if He walked into an Impending Doom concert and heard all the lyrics and saw the dark images on the walls? Actually He reads hearts so He already knows. Brook sings in one of his songs, "the venue is our church....." Do you think Jesus would be thrilled about all the dark imagery presented in "THEIR church"?

Everything earthly tends to lead to sin, so I'm not suprised whatsoever that when looking for sinful things, you will find them. However, is life about finding sinful things or about giving praise to Jesus, finding Him, and tell others? Why try to dim the light in the darkness, when it can brighten the entire room (or concert hall)? Personally, I experience mixed feelings about certain imagery as well, and I wouldn't take part in moshpits, but to say it is sinful and doubting God's power to work in ways beyond human understanding is sinful and judgemental in itself. Maybe I've confused anger for passion, as they seem very much alike. Maybe you did as well. Wishing you the best!

If I'm wrong on my opinion and the is the case, then let's slap a Christian label on beer, hard liqour, porn. Have you guys forgotten that satan rules over music and is not limited to the bands that are open about it and flash imagery around, not limited to metal. Will he not use Christian metal bands as a guise? I'm not sure actin, lookin and soundin like every other metal bands will does the job of leadin the lost metal heads to Christ. Lyrics to not matter, but it's the spirit behind the music that should matter.

I like stuff like accept and manowar. that's my true kind of metal. that metal sound.     I'm 47 and became a Christian back when I was 14. I stopped listening to bands like Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and began listening to bands like Petra, Jerusalem, Stryper, Deliverance, Bloodgood, Bride among other bands which, by the way, were highly competitive with secular bands and brought in a good size fan following. But I also listened to Amy Grant, Russ Taff and other more Gospel centered bands. So please allow me to give my testimony as a former Christian vocalist and revolutionary artist.
    My name is Jason Fessenden. I am merely borrowing my mom's login for this post. Listening to Christian metal back in the 80s was much different than listening to it today. But the same arguments against Christian metal have not changed. These are the arguments I faced as an artist. So this issue is far from new to me. But let me just back track and give off how I was influenced back to the secular metal scene and why it had more appeal.
    During the early part of the 90s Christian metal was still doing great!! Though I would eventually get into Queensryche which would become the band that inspired me to become a vocalist. I didn't give up listening to Christian metal at all. I just accepted one secular metal band because the music was great and the vocalist was unstoppable. But as an artist you reason that there isn't anything wrong with a secular influence as long as you write lyrics that glorify the Lord and that is a fair argument to make. So we all agree that lyrics do matter.
    When the Seattle grunge scene began something happened in the entire music scene which changed everything. But even worse, it changed Christian music in general. This new sound would dull down Christian music and leave it naked and useless for ministering to anyone. What competition we gave secular bands was now extinguished by the dullness of alternative sound. Petra put out dull music, Amy Grant put out dull music, Bride put out a dull album, and every single band I listened to had become dull in sound. But, there was still Queensryche and I also got into King Diamond (couldn't resist the vocals and music). But there were Christian death metal bands out there so I got into them. This was a bad idea since it wasn't long and I was into Unleashed, Obituary, Morbid Angel and later Emperor etc., etc. But that was not all I accepted or listed to. As a vocalist my new favorite band would be this little Dutch band from Holland called The Gathering. As an artist, who felt strongly and passionately about melody and the quality thereof, Anneke's vox set a new standard which I understood and would, as a male vocalist, include as a major influence to how melody is approach from the more Jazz/classical way which had more hooks than a tackle box!! In fact, I still listen to Vuur, Anneke's new band. She is a revolutionary vocalist and one Christian artists should of paid better attention to! But I would get into Nightwish as well. I loved all bands with this new classical and melodic approach to metal because it brought me back to my much more Christian roots (as in Europe, music and vocal training came from the Church). But as an American I would fail in my career without even getting a start. I had become a master in the art of singing and coming up with melodies that had just as many hooks as Anneke or Tate. I learned quickly to adapt to this European scene.
    The American music industry completely collapsed and is now gone with no ability or music professors capable of training new artists. All talent is in Europe and we have no talent here left in America and no one to train new musicians. Its that bad. We have lost the art of melody and singing isn't even appreciated here in America and only here in America is the art of singing GONE from metal and other popular music. Rap is the most popular music young people listen to and most young people don't even listen to metal.
    So over the years this argument has been in the recesses of my mind, coming and going, but never going away. I have discussed this very issue with many metal fans back when Nightwish has their big forum. Every single member of that forum all agreed that Christian music should sound Christian and if there were any bands that had a sound similar to Nightwish and with their talent level, they would probably listen to it. But every member of that forum laughed at the idea of Christian death metal or black metal because it is laughable subject matter.
    Back to death metal sounding music and any music that sounds hateful, like a Nazi murdering a Jew or something like these hardcore metal bands sound like. These artists may not write bad lyrics, but they accomplish nothing. They don't bring in a large audience and Christian metal music is strangled from the lack of holiness in the sound. I am convinced beyond all reasonable doubt that unless Christians embrace the holiness of the Holy Spirit, they will not change anyone. I have scene so many Christian death metalers eventually get into the occult and atheism through the gateway of Christian death and hate sounding metal. Today I go back and listen mostly to artists like old Russ Taff like the Wall of Glass album and old Amy Grant albums like Age to Age and Straight Ahead. I now see the need of holiness in the music I listen to.
    You wanna change the world? First be changed by the grace of God. For what good does it do for your own soul to growl like demons or yell like Nazis killing Jews? What is so wrong with a heavier sound that captures the true spirit of the church? After all, music and vocal theory were gifts from the church and this rebellion against all things church isn't helping anyone. So I challenge every single Christian artist out there that if you want to change the world then you better find for yourselves an outstanding vocalist, way above average, and a band that will not hold that vocalist back from singing strong melodies with more hooks than a tackle box! So first go out and grab your tackle box for fishing. Open it up and look at the hooks in it. If you music doesn't sound like the inside of your tackle box looks, then you are accomplishing nothing,.
    The best songs ever written and enjoyed by the majority of music lovers, were songs with singers singing great melodies. This is nothing old fashion or over the hill, and if it is then music is no longer an art that can save anyone. For indeed, if there would be a Christian meta band here in America, that was capable of competing with Europe's elite bands, whether the band had a male or female front man, and this band knew how to write music well, you better believe this band would bring in a multitude of music lovers from everywhere!
    So now I am going to post a video from the Finnish band Nightwish, who, by the way, is not a Christian band. But they sound more Christian than all the Christian bands of today's era put together!! Now I'm not posting this to say people must sound just like Nightwish. Learn to be your own artist and capture a vision that will bring Christians together and also bring in new people to Christ. But this screaming, barking, yelling and growling isn't saving anyone. The secular scene is so dominant now that the Christian scene is considered extinct....nonexistent. So check out this video, though somewhat lengthy, because it shows Christian artists where we could have been but fail to capture.

      CivicSTS It LOOKS like what some satanic worshipers do, but it doens't really mean they are worshiping satan. There is NO where in the bible that says a certain type of rock music is bad, and no where says rock music is satanic. Take a look at the lyrics to the song "I stand" by "We as human" (There are too versions youtube search "I stand lyrics we as human" then click the one that says "Lyrics" and listen to the lyrics. It's clearly worshiping God and saying "
      Why should I be ashamed to talk about the God that I know is real, or about how sick I think it is when babies are killed, or the fact that evolution is just stupid and wrong, I didn't come from a monkey but believe what you want. I believe that Jesus died and he is risen again, I believe he will burn this world down in the end. I don't care what you think about me or what I say, I mean every word so why should I be ashamed?

      +CivicSTS Hello. I like how you used bible verses to describe your point on this. Just an observation if I may. 1 Thes. 5:22 doesn't have anything to do with a persons outward appearance. Actually, the New King James Version (NKJV) changed to "every form of evil" to better convey the true meaning of the verse (which other translations had already done).
      "Abstain from every form of evil." NKJV
      "reject every kind of evil." NIV.
      "abstain from every form of evil." NASB...and so on.
      Not judging the outward appearance of someone is what God and Jesus have always instructed. To do so, is simply bigotry.
      1 Samuel 16:7b
      "The Lord does not look at the things people look at.
      People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
      I want you to know that I agree with you that just because someone slaps Christian on it doesn't make it so. But you and I are not the ones to determine that. Only God knows our heart and only He knows a true Christian (follower of Christ).

    I agree. I like metal music and have for a long time, and I would rather listen to Christian metal than Satanic metal. The sound of the music is arbitrary, only the lyrics matter. Actually, only how the listener interprets the lyrics matters. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, after all. Now as a member of the Church if Christ, I personally don't want metal in the church service, but I don't think its a condemning issue that is going to really matter, so if you use metal in your church, more power to you.

    I have nothing against any music if it has a good message. At the age of 52, I grew up in the 70s and 80s. Not a Christian at the time, during the 80s, I was really big into secular hair metal. Now that I am a Christian, I do listen to Christian music, but am just as likely to listen to Pillar and Disciple as I am to listen to Matthew West and Jeremy Camp.

    This spoke to me, I'm a rapper but I yell when I rap and rap about some things that are demonic but at heart its more so a warning and relating street life to the after life. I like to think of it as i'm making good music, helping to spread him and get paid for doing what I love, I even named myself Yahweh as my rapper name to spread his name through out the world.

    Thank you for the music you post, it's really nice to see a variety of Christian music styles that are so different in style but united in worship! I was just wondering if you could recommend me any Christian bands with slightly softer vocals, more like MCR or Evanescence because I love their style of music but not always the lyrics behind it (I know they're not exactly metal as such but not far off).

    I been a headbanger for a long time.when i was a teen, I remember that the more evil the band the better. I am 47 now and my view of life has changed. But there is a hardcore group of people that will never set foot in a church, especially young people. These Christian metal bands might be the only tool you have to reach these people. The thing is that they shouldn’t just play to Christian audiences, they need to tour with the evil ones in order to reach those people that don’t attend church. So if you fight with each other the other side wins.

    This video has rekindled my love for Christian Metal music. I've been a huge fan of several Christian Metal genres, lately as I've been listening to the bands (Impending Doom, Sanctifica, Horde and many others) I've been feeling a slight sense of loneliness, like I wasn't meant to be listening to those bands. After having watched this video, I know I should be listening to these bands, they all are amazing and they all show me that God is real, and they strengthen my love for God. This video has helped me, so I just want to say a huge thank you to Metal Cross! This was awesome.

      METAL-CROSS I saw last night that you replied to my comment, which I honestly was not expecting. Seeing that literally made my night, I tears up and had a one on one conversation with God, which was something I really truly and honestly needed. For that I want to say a huge thank you again to Metal-Cross this is now my favourite channel and my favourite video for keeping my faith together and keeping me on track.     Was encouraging a fellow Christian one day about some things and we began a long discussion... what grew into a friendship. In passing I mentioned making music and we shared a few moments in that discussion, and he wanted to know what kind of music I made... I gave him the name Renascent and told him to read the lyrics before listening to the music. He either did or did not, but he still refuses to speak to me again. That's not all the music I make or listen to and enjoy, but I can say I have found myself in a place of worship from both sides of the spectrum, moved to tears from messages on both sides. We have to remember even '"praise and worship" music can become an idol if we exalt it above God in our lives. The Living God above all else, and everything we do is still created but I believe God made music and the ability for it - the evil one can only mimic and pervert, never create on his own.
    *Edit* Regardless - I don't think the "black" and "death" terms should be shared. White metal, sure. Life metal? I don't really stick specific labels on anything I do, primarily because I don't what what it "technically" is, but also because I like what I like, and don't what I don't. I don't care if it's "metal" or "folk." Confess that Christ is Lord in your heart and music, and it's Christian. Just don't try to exalt it above the Most High.

      I like metal and Im a Christian. I feel like there is a good mix somewhere in there that most people cant find. Im looking for intense soundtracks without the vocals sounding like justin beiber that has a good message, weather thats anti war, or Christian. So far ive had good luck.

      @@giganticitalianbodybuildin1584 Exactly i think the same 🙌🏻 God took me away from rock music and heavy metal in its vast majority, there are things that I keep listening because I think they do carry God's message correctly and transmit something good, the lyrics are Christocentric etc, but I think heavy is chaotic and violent music, there are some rock banda who know how to do something good but, not everyone. I'm not going to condemn christian heavy metal, but as you say, each music has its place. and the lyrics may be good but if the music sounds violent I don't know ... to reach people who don't believe and like metal well, great, but one must mature and know how to put things in their place.     95% of Christian death metal bands or Christian metal bands in general teach Roman Catholicism without even knowing it if they believe that Saving faith is by definition perseverance if they believe a constitute element of genuine faith is perseverance if they believe that those who do not have genuine faith will eventually fall away because their faith was not saving Faith but a spurious faith and if they believe that their decision is not from salvation but from religious persuasion they once held or if they believe those who have saving faith in the Gospel of Jesus Christ will indeed remain Christians to the end this is work salvation and this is what most people believe in the Christian metal scene

      You're also teaching false doctrine if you do not believe that Jesus taught that to inherit eternal life one must practice good moral conduct. The protesting of "works" by Protestants against Roman Catholics is a facade, and a double-layered deception for the easily deceived. Paul's only mentioning of works is according to the Law of Moses, in which his audience believed they could obtain good judgement from God by keeping. He never contradicts the message of Jesus, which is to keep His commandments. Faith alone is found in just one place in Scripture, but it is negative. The fact we have a doctrinal creed saying salvation is by such, is spurious error propelled by Roman Catholicism and those who protest Roman Catholicism.

      "trusting that He died on the cross for our sins" is a far more Roman Catholic understanding. Many of the doctrines of Protestantism are based on the foundations laid by Roman Catholicism. I find your "protesting" of it quite immature. You don't understand how much your own theology is based on it.
      You twist Paul's writings. His main audience is Jews who would understand salvation as being the obedience to the Law of Moses. He has to wrestle against this misunderstanding, but many, even today, are on the "other side of it", and misunderstand him from the "other direction".
      Jesus should of told the rich young ruler to just "trust in His certain future death" to inherit eternal life, but He didn't, did He? Did Jesus not understand Protestant doctrine? Or further back from that, and close to His own time, Roman Catholic doctrine?
      Jesus always taught obedience to inherit eternal life. Don't be so immature in thinking you can claim I am "cursed according to Paul for teaching that". Dull theology. Not by faith alone, that is anti-RCC heresy, not Apostolic doctrine.

      Tyler Heidenreich And there is nothing that admonishes against "adding to" the Gospel. This is simply mantras, repeated ad nauseum, by modern preachers. There was no idea of "oh, you don't want to add to your salvation, or you're damned" idea in Apostolic times. The Apostles taught no such thing. It has come after, as a result of the Roman Catholic Church becoming the dominant expositor of theology a few centuries after Jesus, and leading almost all of Christianity astray, including Protestants who think they have "gone back", when really they are like stupid children believing they've conquered the beast by stabbing it in the toe.
      Do more searching. Jesus was not against works like many Protestants are.
      Think about your requirement of "no works" though. If we have to "trust in Jesus' death", that is 1. a work, 2. denying it is sin, but you don't have to give up sin to be saved, therefore denying it doesn't damn you either.

    music is music, what ever genre you like....all I know is that the goodie-square-christians are always the first to judge just because they don't find something that fits their standards.. all it is, how Strong your FAITH is, whatever religion you believe...in the end we all pray to the same person.

    It doesn't matter what style of music you listen to what matters is the meaning behind the lyrics. If you singing about drugs, sex, and murder in a song that could be considered satanic. But if you are spreading a good message through lyrics then I'm gonna say rock on!
