Thanks! After the Portland, OR. show he was hanging out with the crowd. The guy is totally down to earth, and makes no excuses about his strong christian faith. A true warrior for the Lord. Blessings!
Whenever I hear of Christians hating on this band, I remember the story of David, who was criticized for the way he was praising God. Just because it isn’t radio-friendly praise and worship music doesn’t mean it isn’t glorifying God. Impending Doom’s music speaks to a lot of us in a way that other Christian music simply can’t.
Amen my friend. I always try to put God in everything I can, that includes a big part of my music. Ever since I have discovered War of Ages on your channel, I have fell in love with many other Christian bands and Impending doom is definitely one of em, This is my all time favorite YT Channel, no questions asked. Godbless :)!
I love God!! His son!! facedown records and of course this band. I love that there is a dedicated page of Listening and discovering amazing artists living their life for Christ and leading others while using metal as a tool!!!
yep just ignorant people that don't even listen to it just like oh it sounds satanic no way to prove what they are saying but jump to many conclusions without any kind of evidence
I work with Manny's father. I never even knew about Impending Doom until he told me his son had a band. It struct me further knowing they're a Christian band. You can tell in the way Manny's father speaks that he's incredible proud of his son's success.
I'm not Christian but I respect Brook & David a lot. Their faith is quite strong, but they are good with it. It's cool to see a "br00tal" band that you can bring home to mother, lmao
I've been struggling so much with sin, and I've been raised in church my whole life, I just found Impending Doom and I must say they've restored my desire for God and my desire for less secular lyrical content, these guys are the real deal and I support them 100%!!
You're not alone brother! We all struggle with sin and we need each other for support. Don't go it on your own. That's why the bible talks so much about fellowship, and I don't mean just going to church (that would be worship). I mean hanging with other dudes that love the Lord and metal. Blessing brother...pm me anytime. \m/
I appreciate the kind words man, and yeah It's odd that you mention the fellowship. I'm from Ohio up north (currently reside in Florida) and I left all my friends behind. We were closer than family and my life has been exceedingly harder because of the loneliness I've endured. I never realized how much I rely on my friends until I was here on my own. It makes my relationship with my wife difficult because at times it's hard to explain to her that I feel alone without my friends, we were like a family and giving that up has been more difficult than anything I have ever done. Your comment is relevant because my friend called yesterday letting me know that he will be moving down with me to help get me out of this depression I've been in lately, and just the thought has helped immensely. I appreciate your brotherly conversation and I'll be praying for your channel and your well being.
Thanks for your prayers my friend! My prayers are with you as well. And I know what you mean, us guys need "dude time" every now and then...just getting a friend and hitting a local concert, grabbing a bite to eat or diving into a word study in the bible. Even creating a playlist of new Christian metal can give you a lift. Hang in there my brother! Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. PSALM 23:4
Much respect to these guys. Started a Christian metal band 2 years ago and it’s still in the works and trying to find the members needed but the music is still being completed. I truly hope to play w these guys and talk w them in a deep level. Love their music! Love their message
interesting 🤔... bands are tough work.... u have individuals with different visions, vibes, lifestyles, and u have to create together over a few months or years
Their music is so anointed. One of my good friends told me about this band and how his band opened for them once and said how I should listen to them and I heard Devil's den and it gave me chills the song was just so raw, powerful, and you just feel the holy spirit. You can tell how much they love Jesus through their music
Once you break away you see the world for what it is. I had to witness true darkness for myself to realize what world we are live in. Thank God the allmighty and His Son for salvation and cleansing from sin.
Every time I'm listening to a band, and I'm loving it, you come with an interview with that band. And that's why I love this channel and I pray for you to keep blessing us with good stuff and be blessed as well.
I’ve been dealing with my own and my family’s end of life. It’s been hard, my mind wasn’t right. I remembered this band and I want some super heavy Christian Metal, because I’ve recently re-accepted that there Is a God and Jesus Christ. These guys have helped me to still want to make heavy music, but in way that’s not disrespectful to God and instead glorifies and gives him thanks for abilities I have for music. Love Impending Doom 🤘🏻
Been following these guys for awhile now. By seeing this interview I have a newfound respect for these guys in this band. Thanks METAL-CROSS for linking up with these guys to get this interview. God bless!
Wow, I never thought my Repentagram drawing would ever be in an Impending Doom video! I made it back when "The Serpent Servant" came out. The CD has the Repentagram on it, and I drew a circle around the CD on paper and put the paper over the star and traced it. I put it on Photobucket and edited it; I guess someone found it and downloaded it.
I think Brook is talking about the bands, As I Lay Dying, TDWP, etc. I really like what Brook has said in this interview he is point on, and so is Impending Doom's lyrics.
@7:45"There is no other hope... Jesus Christ, I will never be ashamed..." Wow, you guys got me there! If I ever had a question of your foundation... all has been answered. I am a new fan. I am off to the record store to buy some Impending Doom music. Thank you guys for not selling out to the world!
I’m a troubled but devout Christian, and Impending Doom is one of my favorite bands (a lot memories from junior year). I’ve been a metal fan for the past 5, almost 6 years, now, and there are no limits to what I listen to. I’m under the impression that life is too short to worry about what I should and should not be listening to. I no longer attend church because I feel that they don’t care about helping others (granted not all of them are like that). Most people who claim to be “good Christians” or whatever are actually the complete opposite; they are hateful and spiteful towards others who have different morals than them. It’s poeple like that why I also embrace spirituality and individualism. I identify as what one might call a Christian Individualist; I believe in God and Christ, but I do not let my beliefs dictate my life. Jesus never once preached hatred or intolerance, and that’s what people need to understand. Jesus is love, compassion and acceptance. Always has been and always will be.
i understand you , i do hope you continue to question and ask God to show you what He truly wants for your life. and who He really is, Man will fail us, and i am so sorry for the hurtful actions and words from what should have been Love that casts out fear, and sharing that there is no condemnation in Christ. but there is conviction and such love thats set us free from any lie, etc. I pray for people like that in your life, that, my friend, when you meet them, will be real, will be truthful with Gods love and support, overall people who will be showing the fruits of the spirit (you may look it up). In the body of Christ (everyone who lives for God and has the Holy spirit) have a different part-of-the-body. you dont have to dress like eachother, etc BUT the fruits of the Spirit will be there. praying your find your "tribe" but besides that, that you may encounter Gods presence right where you are right now in Jesus name. I truly feel Gods love for you right now, God bless you Mr metal man.
i love this stuff man! this is really encouraging to me and i am pretty sure its encouraging to other people as well. keep doing what your doing Impending Doom, from your fan from Alaska :)
Love it! Appreciate you guys reaching the dark corners with Christian Metal!! The light shines in dark places the brightest! Keep Praising brothers!! God Bless!
subscribed, I love surrounding myself with brothers in Christ. Can't believe I didn't know about this channel before. Christian metal just blows everything else out of the water
METAL-CROSS im a Christian and I listen to cattle decapitation, what would be you're point of view be on that. I just want to hear this from a Christian brother. also love you guys, commented and subscribed. I would also like to add that impending doom is my all time favorite band.
metalmoshingmad777 They've changed a lot. I used to listen to all types of metal back in my rebellious days. In fact I would listen to straight up satanic metal. So as long as you don't take the lyrics seriously or do what I did, since I didin't understand a lot of lyrics even after years of listening to growls I would often just focus on whether I liked the riffs and stuff. Also don't listen to satanic metal, it's garbage xD
xBurzurkurx totally, I stay away from deicide, possessed, so on and so on. but heres my thing, if I could find Christian bands like cattle, would not care to listen to them much. since you're obviously a metal veteran (unlike me) could you recommend an altenative to cattle. also... are you a fan of the burzurkur or something.
no that was just a name i came up with awhile back in like 08 when i played world of warcraft for one of my troll characters xD.. and when you say alternative, you mean Christian? just to clarify?
these dudes seem so legit, his commentary around 8:23, is spot on. I love how real their faith comes across, there a lot of "passengers and parasites" but it's refreshing to hear someone who's faith is sincere.
That last question or statement that he made hit me hard. Sometimes we feel the need to brow beat people into our way of living and relationship with God and by doing that we actually push them away. He said that he feels like we just need to let people know about Jesus's love for everyone, regardless of how they live their lives, then pray, read the Bible and the rest will come after! We don't need to be less of a sinner to know and accept Jesus as our Savior or have him accept and love us! It totally opened my eyes to the term "come as you are". If we can just get people to come to Jesus, he will do the rest. The worst thing we could do is condemn or criticize or browbeat someone for their actions because that will cause them to feel inadequate or too far gone. There is no such thing as too far for God's hand to reach down and lift you back up. I am so glad I watched this interview! 💙🙌🏼 Keep faith alive guys, great job! 🙏🏻
But when it comes to heavy music, I think that no matter what you believe, it helps you "purge" rage from your mind, using Art as form of turning bad feelings into constructive works, or, at least, heavy music helps us to avoid making bad things to other people (even yourself).
Awesome interview God bless you brothers your in my prayers keep the faith and when you guys ever do a show in Puerto Rico we have some real good coffee here B Bless God is good
I've watched some interviews and they never mention God :/ which started to scare me a bit about them being Christian but this one made me sure they are Christian. I just would love to meet them In person. And talk to them about their faith. Maybe get advice to help myself with my faith
Joseph never depend on others to grow in faith we have our helper the holy spirit he is the only one that can conform us to the image of jesus ... sure we help each other as christians but we must depand on God in prayer without that we fail miserably
Best advice I have is to live a life of love and to ALWAYS seek the truth, no matter what. Question everything, many Christian religions spread nothing but fear, and Hatred. If it doesn’t align with your moral compass that God has given each and one of us then don’t be a part of it.
their songs are simply heavy they make it really heavy not by just growling or tuning extremely low, just the lyrics and the theme the ambience they give on the songs makes them brutal
True soul winners, heaven is way cooler than you think, there is a dark glory cloud around the throne as well as a rainbow…there’s a place in heaven for dark foreboding castles and the dark glory of God which is His severity…nothing evil, but a severity of dark glory, which is light as well but fits what these guys are doing…God is light but anything is possible, I see these guys having homes in heaven that fit this exact style!
7:25 relatable lmao. I may be a non-theistic satanist, but credit where it's due - there is a lot of solid christian metal out there. They earned their place among the ranks even if the lyrics don't really resonate with me.
4:00 there's a conspiracy about christian metal bands having super satanic / blatantly freemason / illuminati or whatever. it's interesting this dude says he came up with the repentagram while he was falling asleep listening to "metal music," whatever that has to do with it. these guys rock, keep rockin broheme. John
While I am not a bad fan of this music (yes I do like metal so don't question that lol)... this band has stated many times their stance in regards to their faith. I am just a little bothered by the hand gesture at the very beginning of this interview. Very much a common gesture found in metal but sure not confined to it. It's best stated of its origins by many people. I am not downplaying this band and it's integrity (God bless you all) but just wanted to state this small dilemma. Otherwise the interview is spot and bless you all for taking a stand into again what is a very dark place in our world that needs to have the light and glory of Jesus shining through.
When he said spiritual warfare he ment temptation. I personally want to know what bands like this do when surrounded by secular bands, like the Tim lambesis trial. He succumbed to temptations. I like impending doom, but with bands like this I always feel peculiar about wether they truly believe. Not saying they don't , just that I wonder. My friends.and.I are dabbling in Christian metal,we love Jesus and like metal, but we sometimes wonder is this how God wants me to help further his kingdom.
The spiritual warfare Brook and David meant was more akin to Eph.6:12, attacks from Satan and his demons (including resulting temptation)...the evil influence in the room trying to block God's Word from reaching the audience. The band clearly points to Christ in everything they do...as a witness to secular bands they tour with, to using their Repentagram and merch images to evoke conversations as an open door to witness for Christ. Whether they truly believe in their hearts...that's for God to decide. Whether Christians should be involved in heavy metal (or black metal), check out 1 Cor.9:19-22. Thanks for visiting the channel Brother! Blessings \m/
It's off their latest release DEATH WILL REIGN (2013). The song is RAVENOUS DISEASE...one of my favorites! Thanks for checking out the Metal-Cross channel! Blessings \m/
If i can headbang and pray at the same time, I'd say this band is attention well spent!
I met the lead singer of Impending Doom after their show. It swear he's one of the nicest guys I've ever encountered. Great interview guys!
Thanks! After the Portland, OR. show he was hanging out with the crowd. The guy is totally down to earth, and makes no excuses about his strong christian faith. A true warrior for the Lord.
Blessings!
METAL-CROSS hey metal cross what happened to Impending Doom??? Are they still together?
His sister is my teacher, he visited our campus the other day it was pretty cool
no he's a bitch selfish as shit. I went to school with him.
I LOVE IMPENDING DOOM! It's so stupid people say they're Satanic because of their style...
Yeah, right? All you have to do is listen to them and you know where their hear is at.
Amen my friend. I always try to put God in everything I can, that includes a big part of my music. Once you break away you see the world for what it is. I had to witness true darkness for myself to realize what world we are live in. Thank God the allmighty and His Son for salvation and cleansing from sin.
Nice profile picture, I unironically like it very much
Love your picture!
Every time I'm listening to a band, and I'm loving it, you come with an interview with that band. And that's why I love this channel and I pray for you to keep blessing us with good stuff and be blessed as well.

I like the REPENTagram, it’s very creative and how it symbolizes the 9 fruits of the spirit is just awesome.
love you guys man..
much love from south africa
Right back at you from the US of A!
Blessings \m/
Oh wow, this interview needs to be blasted everywhere. So much truth.
I often wonder if bands like this know anything about the pioneers like Vengeance Rising, Martyr, Crucified, Deliverance, and Bride.

Does anybody know where I could find a church that plays metal music if they exist
subscribed, I love surrounding myself with brothers in Christ. Can't believe I didn't know about this channel before. Christian metal just blows everything else out of the water

Repentagram. Wow. That's too cool, man.
The Holy Spirit is moving in the extreme music world--no doubt in my mind.

Very insightful interview.
This is really inspiring.

Hi I'm from Suriname and I love this band, keep doing what you're doing
Thanks! Praise His name!! \m/
Amazing and powerful interview.
But when it comes to heavy music, I think that no matter what you believe, it helps you "purge" rage from your mind, using Art as form of turning bad feelings into constructive works, or, at least, heavy music helps us to avoid making bad things to other people (even yourself).

God Loves YOU...
jesus is king I love Impending Doom
For some reason, idk what it is about me, but I like the half awake half asleep Phase.
Idk, it might just be me and my thoughts
It's the 9 point from Slipknot, but the middle is raised slightly.
did anyone else notice the burzum logo on the back of the seat
Lmao is that a burzum hoodie? Nice.
thank you for your music that lifts Christ Jesus up
7:25 relatable lmao. I may be a non-theistic satanist, but credit where it's due - there is a lot of solid christian metal out there. They earned their place among the ranks even if the lyrics don't really resonate with me.
*brook reeves in a Wal-Mart*
*half awake half asleep*
*couple seconds later* REPENTAGRAM
*the others*
Brooke, dude, what the heck!?
8:31 I thought he said "you can go live in a butthole" lol I had to replay that than I was like "ohhhh haha"
Sooo... when's their next album?
Soon I hope. They've been working really hard on it and have some awesome riffs down.
Its out now
I really hope Brooke Reeves grows back his hair.
