Music video by Nirvana performing Spank Thru. (C) 2009 Geffen Records
This song is so fucking underrated
Love this song there Will only be one Kurt cobain he was amazing miss him so much 🎸🎸🎸🚶❤️💯💯💯
Amazing that he wrote this song in 1985 before Nirvana in his room in Aberdeen as a teen.
Such an ear for a melody at such a young age.
Favourite!! Every version
Love spank trough i can listen to it all The time love you Kurt so much ❤️💯🎸🎸🎸🎸🚶
considering the fact krist wanted to start a band with kurt because of a demo of this song
0:16 "Tables and chairs would look good in my garden."

😂
Jajajajajajajaj
Looks like Dexter Morgan
I don’t hear the illiteracy
I hope the old school Nirvana fans agree with me when I say that this is absolutely the best version of this song.
most definitely
i personally like the pine street theatre performance better ruclips.net/video/Xq47qqVOE1k/видео.html
@@SkullboyMus1c same
close second, but I prefer the Teatro Castello in Rome. Maybe cause that's the version I heard first
I agree with, best performance ever
He had a voice like no other.
@sabbracadabrano
@sabbracadabra What other voices? No match.
@sabbracadabra They are all great rock vocals and I love them! What I meant is that Kirt has his own very unique soulful rock voice (and it applies each of the names you mentioned with different colors). I am not interested in who is better kind of talks here.
@sabbracadabra No. No, it isn't.
@sabbracadabra8367 kurt's voice is raspy in its own sense. can't describe it any other way
I love how this song starts off like some typical Aerosmith dinosaur rock love song with the whole "baby baby" stuff and then Kurt screams and it just totally goes into Nirvana territory without missing a beat or sounding out of place with the first half. Kurt was a genius, especially considering this song is as old as the band itself.
its older than the band
@@Nedmaxxx yeh, he did it when he was still in fecal matter
@Michael Self was* 👍
@Michael Self Not really
Kurt was in that band as the singer and guitarist but the other members were different than the nirvana lineup
It was him and a few other people from the early days of the seattle grunge scene's formation
Kris wasn't in the band and neither was Chad who were the people that first formed Nirvana publicly
I don't know if they had a set list for this show but, I'm sure Krist was excited when Kurt went into this riff. Considering it was the song that convinced him to join Kurt
One of the most perfect Nirvana songs. The slow starting, the brutality of the chorus, and great lyrics. In their top 10, for sure.
@@angel-pi9wk lol

Great lyrics?😂

Cobain could literally do anything he wanted with a guitar and it would fit the song.
It probably doesn't hurt to have a superb rythem section.
It’s because his rhythm section is tight as fuck and never misses a beat.
A natural , shredders dont have shit on Kurt.
Those riffs....nothing ever like it again
NPC #303 bro nobody asked tho...
I think a lot of people miss this but this song being performed live here is a very special thing, because Spank thru was there since the very beginning and sort of caused everything as well. Songs like Teen Spirit, Blew and Lithium were made when the band was already sort of popular in some sort of way on top of being under the name Nirvana. However with Spank Thru, this was one of Kurt’s first ever songs he wrote that was on his fecal Matter album, which led Krist joining the band the begin with, which then led to Nirvanas official formation and so and so forth. My point is from Kurt playing this song to Krist in his room to get him to join his band to playing it live in front of a hundred thousand people just 7 years later must have been an emotional thing for Kurt and Krist. It’s like “wow man.... we actually made it”
Blew is one of their early songs too.
That's a really observant point, well said.
Yah
Nirvana always had the coolest, random, go go dancing people during various performances.
Who are these people….?
Where do they come from?
@@himanshupanwar5918 They are Kurt's friends who had been called by him to be on the stage. The one at this video is Tony.
@@adri_mirnsince i don't have the means to check, I'm just gonna believe you in this 😊
@@ZairulAzri I'm not sure about the sources too, but I've read that the female dancer in Live at the Paramount was Nikki McClure (she's a book illustrator now). I'm not sure if the male dancer in Live at Reading is the same as in Live at the Paramount, but his name is Tony. Search for them on RUclips or Google.
There's a girl at the side of the stage if you search for "breed live" I think it's the first result, look over Kurt's shoulder, behind him, there's this short haired girl absolutely going for it, it's so cool I put it on when I'm sad and it still makes me laugh
0:16 when you realized this is the song that started nirvana when you where a teenager and look out at the crowd watching years later and think back to the last couple years of high school again to realize how far you’ve come
Thats what i was thinking

Same
You're in high school again.
I saw an interview with Paul McCartney, he was asked if he hadnt been in the Beatles, what band would he have liked to be in, straight away he said Nirvana. Nuff said.
Kurt spent hours upon hours playing his guitar and writing songs as a youth, dreaming of one day being in a band and headlining a major music festival to a massive audience. I’m glad his dreams came true. RIP Kurt x
It sure did
live at reading sounds like an album, one of the best gigs ever

Thats dancing Tony. He used to dance on stage during some UK shows when Nirvana were on tour there.

uuugggh, i love this reading era!!! His vocals and guitar was sooo on point!!
He always had a way of phrasing words so that you couldn't understand what he was saying unless you had the lyrics, at least in the earlier songs. Floyd the Barber and this song are great examples.
Still one of my favourite Nirvana tunes
Damn this guy could write.
written by a 17 year old too
The REAL 90`s style omfg for fucking sake this is amazing better than everything. Kurt we need your spirit!.
2020 and I've yet to find a musician and band that I love more and moves me like this. Love Kurt and this band.
Tony the interpretive dancer was definitely underrated when it comes to giving Nirvana their sound.
Kurt Cobain didn't understand why he was so popular. he was shy and insecure, even though he was really talented and creative and good looking. he said he wanted to be famous. he worked hard to get there. when he finally realized just how famous he was, that he was never able to be comfortable with it. then he had his drug problem, depression and painful stomach problems on top of overwhelming fame. a lot of people probably don't understand how someone can reach the level of success and fame that he reached and just throw it all away like that, but then a lot of people don't understand that being famous doesn't mean your life is perfect or that you don't have other serious mental health problems going on. Nirvana were so cool. and Kurt Cobain was a great singer

Exactly. Kurt was a pro at making his guitar do things you wouldn't think it ever could.
You could ramble on and on about how technologically inept Kurt is as a guitarist. It doesn’t change the fact that his playing is one of the greatest things I’ve heard in music. Second only to Kurt’s voice and Kurt’s songwriting.

The bass line in this song is beautiful.

Disgustingly beautiful! Nirvana will always rock!
The song that made Krist decide to team up with Kurt and start a band back in 85. A great piece of rock history, and it all started with masturbation :D
Luca Martinalli What does that even mean😂 he had it in "Downer" and I never understood what it meant.

It was more the full Fecal Matter tape, but it definitely could've been the song that made Krist think that there was potential in the band. I feel like some asshole at Rolling Stone now, lol. Anyways, love your covers man!
