Music video by Nirvana performing D-7. (C) 2009 Geffen Records - Видеоклипы
Dancing guy is a true member of Nirvana. He has his own water bottle and everything.
***** There's an interview with him?? rofl
Alec Frisch In fact he was more usefull than Pat xD
JoshCB fuck no he wasn't
Alec Frisch Fun Fact: He is also the dude pictured on the In Utero CD.
I was hoping he was just some random guy lol
Easily one of their greatest covers. That soft to manic dynamic is pure art
Nirvana saved my life in my teens and it still keeps me grounded. ♥♥
has a 17 he's the only reason I'm alive lol
I'm still waiting for a 3rd Wave of Punk Rock or Cobain's Resurrection
I'M ON IT, GIVE ME 2 YEARS TO GET A BAND TOGETHER
joe hutch DUDE, LET'S DO IT MAN. I WANT TO BE PART OF IT
Paul Blackwell me too hit me up living in Louisiana. I'm a straight up singer and can't play a guitar that good yet.
joe hutch Hey man, it's been two years. You got that band yet?
theres a great new punk band called guns n roses
Definitely one of my all-time favorite Nirvana performances. I mailed a letter to Krist's studio about 4-5 months ago and today I got a signed photo/postcard addressed to me back in the mail. it said "Dear Keith, ROCK ON! -Krist". The LAST thing I was ever expecting. As a long-time Nirvana fan with a Nevermind album logo tattoo..it just made my fucking year! Thank you so much Krist!!!
Now 1000 people are going to send letters to Krist
Wow!~ nice bro! IN hard agreement that this was their shining moment ... they were on fire...
@@ValisX apparently he doesent always sign/send stuff back so I got very lucky
Omg really sick!!!
what did you say?
Arguably the ABSOLUTE FUCKING BEST COVER OF ALL FUCKING TIME RIP
Nirvana played the best cover songs. Most of them obscure, which made them even better.
+Eric M yes, ur absolutely right
RHCP makes the best covers.
Walamonga 1313 That cannot be true since Higher Ground is extremely annoying and no Nirvana cover is that.
Eric M its true eric, soul better to originals
i agree D-7, Love Buzz, Man Who Sold The World
Kurt = Pure, unfiltered, chaotic maddening talent through the lens of a creative genius....
Dave = Pure, unfiltered, chaotic maddening talent through the lens of one of the humblest, most talented musicians EVER!!!!...
Krist = Pure, unfiltered, harmonious joy and glee that he gets to make a living doing what he loves with his best friends and being a proper bass player and kickin out the JAMS!!!!....
Nirvana's version of D7 is one of the coolest and most crushing displays of raw artistic prowess.
I love how sinister the riff comes across and the distortion with the guitars kicking in is so powerful, on recorded tracks you can also definitely hear Kurt shredding his vocal cords to an impressive degree.
It's pure perfection.
Still prefer Sages version but its a damn good cover, and very in spirit of the original, while being a little harder.
It's nearly exactly the same as Wipers version with Kurt's guitar gear setup, so it's a little more edgy and with his voice. It's a cover, not a rendition or a "version".
Dude danced through like a 2 hour set. Goddamn
+sprdvx amazing eh? and I would have givin it my best shot bro :D
Give me a gram of coke and an e and i would have done that all night at a nirvana gig lol
Cocaine
Tony
Jumping, not dancing
Nirvana, especially Kurt was a big fan of The Wipers. A local band here in Portland that doesn't get the credit it deserves, love em.
helterskelter1178 I wish I’d lived in Portland. I love the Wipers ♥️ ☮️
Caribou1983 Portland full of political zealots now
Napalm Beach, too. Napalm Beach is, to me, one of the most underrated bands ever. Check our Rock and Roll Hell. You'll love it.
i'm a long way from you (ireland) but i rep the wipers hard
Completely agree
Stage 7: Severe Dementia (D-7)
Along with the loss of motor skills, patients will progressively lose the ability to speak during the course of stage 7 dementia. In the final stage, the brain seems to lose its connection with the body. Severe dementia frequently entails the loss of all verbal and speech abilities. Loved ones and caregivers will need to help the individual with walking, eating, and using the bathroom.
By identifying the earliest stages of dementia as they occur, you may be able to seek medical treatment quickly and delay the onset of later stages. Though most cases of dementia are progressive, some may be reversible, and sometimes dementia-like conditions may be caused by treatable underlying deficiencies or illnesses. The more aware you are of these stages, the quicker you will be able to react and seek help, either for yourself or for a loved one.

Matthew Smith I forgot to mention the great Keith Moon.
STRATCAT101
Absolutely. Lest we forget Ginger Baker.
I think one of the best Nirvana performances of their career.
Todd Ryan first song name?
+zzen Breed
you will not make a mistake if you told that for most of his performances...,but YES this is amazing performance best of the bests....:)
My favorite is Radio Friendly Unit Shifter in the MTV Live and Loud 1993
Being there as a 16yr old was one of the greatest nights of my life....i'm nearly 42 now
This sound is so fucking punk it's ridiculous! Nirvana what can I say? The last band to take serious punk to the masses! This version is absolutely massive...a total punch in the face. Pure rock&roll
i love this comment
"beautiful, like a rock in a cops face"
Dude, this is The Wipers. You need to check them out. This came off their LP "Is This Real". Enjoy.
Nirvana were a punk band through and through, I'm glad somebody agrees.
Best comment
Grohl is just killing it!
He's monstrous. Nirvana was great before him. He helped make them Gods.
He actually goes fucking crazy during this concert, and the camera work (especially in this song) gives some great back and forth shots of him and Kurt
@@idontknow-fb2oe no offense to chad, but you don’t need ears to see that Grohl is obviously better.
@@victorianicolau9431 I think that's what he meant
@@pierric2748 ik, I was agreeing with him.
I. FUCKING. LOVE. NIRVANA.
This is a Wipers song
@R Great. And nirvanas playing it. Just had to show everyone how much of a genius you are lol.
shut up he is coming repent
Still 2024 forever
Love you kurt.Wish you were still here.
bass was insane in this performance, never a point where its drowned out, if anything the bass was drowning out the other instruments in a good way. love to hear it
I don't care if people say he was a drug addict or a tweaker, that teeth grinding to stay in tempo is BADASS.
I didn't know he used to do this technique! I thought it was just a unconscious habit.
@@Kagevushi I think he also used to chew tobbaco so that could be why he moving the mouth like that, but in interested in this technique how does it work ?
@@janvranjes4554 I don't think he used to chew tobacco. If so, I never found an interview or book that said this. However, I guess I was wrong to say that teeth grinding was a technique. I think it's more a habit. I usually stamp my foot with the music beats, while playing guitar, and other people grinds their teeth. Note that Kurt sometimes moves his jaw according to the rhythm, sometimes not. I think if it was a technique, the moves would be more accurate. So, it could be a habit, based in the tempo. Plus, Kurt was ADHD, and people with this diagnosis commonly have the grind teeth habit.
Nirvana is the only reason I know who the Wipers, Vaseline’s, and Scratch Acid are. All awesome bands.
Check out The Jury. It's Kurt & Chris with Mark Lannegan
and the Meat Puppets
@@BeeHatGuyDidn’t they only record like 5 songs, all Leadbelly covers?

you can tell that kurt thoroughly enjoyed playing this number
One of the best covers in rock music history.
I would say it was equal to Nirvana's own cover of The Man Who Sold The World.
Sometimes I get WRAPPED UP listening to D7 a lot...the beginning is so haunting...

Top 5 NIRVANA songs
It's a wipers cover
I hope Greg Sage got some well deserved royalties from the release of this song, he's a genius and a true punk rock original.
I really hope so.
why would he get royalties first of all there playing a live cover so its not like they went into the studio and re released it
@@gbkbloodline6564 They did do a studio version, it was on the Hormoaning Australia only E.P. Plus sales of a live album means the writer of the songs get credit regardless.
In 1993 I was too old to rock and roll and and to young to die, And besides I thought rock was dead. Fortunately Kurt and his guys were around there. Happy birthday Kurt, long live Nirvana!
Rock is only dead to you if you choose something else to rock out on :-)
That's why Punk isn't dead to me because im still alive and typing :-)
Rock is dead.
Time for a new (mainstream) rock movement! Maybe Polyphia will be it...
For an old video. It has pretty good visual and audio quality; also, this is a great cover song too.
***** Do you have a sample from the original one?
Well, there's no proof of it according to you. If you believe there is one, please present me a link, so I can compare.
I know the technicality; I just want a video comparison. Simple as that.
Alright, sounds good to me; in addition, thank you. Big Pink Floyd fan here.
***** They're solid man! Especially their older music is better too. Love the Spacey/ Psychedelic sound from them.
Nirvana always had the best covers
"Run Rabbit Run" A cover from finnish band Smack was maybe the first recorded/piblushed cover by Nirvana...
Their energy is one of the many reasons I like Nirvana
1:38 he starts on the neck pickup. 1:52, I believe it is an accident since he switches back later, but he slaps it over the the bridge pickup. I am so glad he either didn’t notice or just didn’t switch it back because that tone at 2:03 is just raunchy, I love it.
He opens his eyes immediately. He knew, for sure, and left it. Which again, I’m so glad. Aside from hearing the difference, there’s no way he didn’t feel himself hit the switch. Unless he decided he didn’t sit well in the mix in the neck, he accidentally hit it and decided to leave it. Absolutely Beautiful.
1:38 the look of intense concentration on his face as he rips into the best part of the song. Miss u kurt 💙
His guitar face is teeth grinding and a angry face😂
"D-7" is written on Sigourney Weaver's helmet at the end of Alien.
I don't know what to do with this information.
They've NEVER been equalled....killer performance
0:41 that light hit Kurt's head with impeccable timing. It somehow just enhances the whole mood. Man I wish I was there, too bad I was barely even a sperm :(
Best nirvana live!!🎉
Cobain/nirvana lives through all of us through generations of decades pure legendary icons much love ❤ rock on 🤘
The beauty of Nirvana is that they could cover a song and still perform it so creatively that no one ever questions the integrity of the band. Brilliance can show through cover songs just as much as originals.
Nirvana's version of D-7 has to rate as one of my all-time favourite cover versions. I still remember first hearing it on the John Peel Session when I was about 13! This Reading version of it is class too. Proper raging at the end!
Damn Kurt was on fire that night..what a performance!
pretty legendary
The blast of coke up his arm probably helped
been listening to this band for 28 years, im 38 and it still gives me chills
If a better cover of any song by any band in history exists I'm yet to hear it.
His vocals at 1:12 are so good. He had a real good sense of melody and dissonance.
Yes especially at 1:02 thats the best part

The shot of Kurt furiously strumming (or pounding) his guitar at 1:42 never ceases to amaze me. I just love it for some reason.
This performance is trippy AF 😵
One of my favorite songs that Nirvana covered
i'd argue that Nirvana, REM and the Beatles were the best "cover" bands in rock history.

Unbelievable song! the wipers record it in 1980! it was ahead of its time. nirvana do the cover perfectly.
It's hard to understand that the person that's your inspiration died before you got born... :(
it's hard mate
***** it's even worse to understand that he commit a suicide (altough i think he was killed by courtney) :(
Ahaha shut up, these lame comments are so annoying. Obviously everyone wishes he was still alive but get over it, and to be honest he isn't really the type of person you should look up to with all the drugs and dropping out of school and such.
infinityandbeyond he at least succseded in what he was doing and that's a very big thing...who are you to judge the way he lived his live?
David, I'm not judging the way he lived his life. I don't care if he did drugs or whatever, I'm just saying that's not really something good to look up to.
0:41 Kurt turns into a Super Saiyan, and 1:02 swear to god, I love that cough. I think this is the best version of D-7. Love it.
+JamesBondBLHK100 lol at 1:02 i thought the cameraman was coughing, not kurt
Leah Cedula XD Nah, people would hear it somehow. You did see the movement and facial expression on Kurt, though, right? Lol.
***** yeah, but i seriously thought it was the cameraman XD
+Leah Cedula im pretty convinced the audio is not the external mic.... that would be very bad
3 minutes he goes super saiyan 3
Best of the best musician & lead vocal👆🏻
this is a great song. the way it starts out calm and then gets heavier towards the end of the song. love it
1:36 shit gets real.
The drop is real
Wipers reference ? :)
Kurt's signature toothgrinding also.
I’ve listened to this sooooo many times but never bothered to comment but reading some comments your all right this is soooo punk it’s unreal, I just wish Kurt was here to realize just how good he was

Kurt’s version of this Wipers song is freaking awesome!! He was a huge Wipers fan.

Fuck yea, I’d definitely put up there in the ranks with Johnny Cash at San Quentin, Beatles at Shea Stadium, and Queen at Live aid. Ahhh so many legendary concerts tho ;)
If I can go to past I'll go to a Nirvana concert. Long life Nirvana 😎⭐🎸
This is probably on of my favorite nirvana covers , along with the unplugged covers they did.
Did I just find a new Nirvana song after 30 fucking years!> FUCKIN A!!! I never heard this song and its like i just got a Birthday Gift! New Nirvana! FUck all!
No. It's a very old song.
This is a song by The Wipers. Nirvana covered it though - the live radio session version was released as B-side.
It fucking rocks.
I really like the solo where everything gets so sudden silent and you can hear Dave's solid perfect drum beat together with Chris it's absolutely stunning how that sounds
What a rush!! Unbelievable performance on D7.
God damn the second half of this performance was fuckin epic
Dave grohls drumming is on point
I wish I still had this kind of energy.
Jesus that bass riff, unREAL, just drives the whole track!!!! Xxx Kurt
And this is just One of the reasons I love Nirvana!!! Raw purity!!!!
that scream always sends shiver down my spine :')
This song and version is a freaking gift send from heaven
Outstanding! This concert was the very best of any band given in my opinion. This song is emblematic of that. Cheers and love to you all from Shanghai.
Say whatever to say about any band. Nobody will ever reach his unforggetable voice and distorcion chords by amps.
Listening to Nirvana for 22 years,we miss u Kurt!
System of a down was pretty good
You know what's sad is tht they took the whole concert off you tube even when he was asking everyone to be kind to Courtney anyways...but when the band had interludes or what ever but he was talking to to band and they were playing lil songs .. it sucks the younger generations won't get tht. I'm glad they have this up cuz older Gen we about to lose this too watch a year from now ...sad
One of my three wishes would be to go back in time and and see this concert.
Damn I'm glad I found this little gem. This song rocks.
Kurt cobain would get out of his grave and find a cigarette if he knew ads were on his channel. Thank you for having all this material though. Kurt is the person that made me want to play guitar 16 years ago. God rest Kurt. Nirvana are the best band I've ever listened to
to lots of ppl this might be noise pollution to them. But this is real music to me. rock and roll aint noise pollution
That bassline is underrated imo
Sitting here the methadone just kickin' in, pipe packed full of a Latakia blend, hearing new to me Nirvana tunes! How don't I recall these
You're probably lucky to remember your name.
My word, this certainly has a kick to it
This live version is better than the recorded version of the cover, which wasn't as good as the Wipers one, but this live performance kills both of them!!!! Doomy punk like nothing else I ever heard. Still gives me chills.
You shouldn't have said that, should you? Take a look at Wiper's 1984 live record of this song. Both are hreat, it's just the matter of taste which is subjective.
Nah nirvanas is better

You know, this was actually really good music. I know in popular appeal at the time, even though a lot of people loved it, they probably would have called it"bad" music. But, it's actually pretty much better music than really a lot of music that ever was and ever will be, and I know that almost everyone watching this video knows exactly what I'm talking about. This was perfect music.
