    Nice job with the re-thread, Jimmy! Especially in an awkward to get to position.

    Another top job Jimmy. Word seems to be getting about that you are the man. These campervans and motorhomes just don't do sufficient mileage or as you said owner's start them up for 15/20 mins every so often. It seems to me that it would be better to plug in the mains hookup lead & charge the vehicle & leisure batteries that way?

    I like the launch reader. I don't like the fact you can't select your own permanent settings and save them such and MPH and oC. They limit you to straight Imperial and Metric which means you have to go by one or the other.

    When you start these 2014 relays should you see the DPF light test come on with all the other dashboard lights when you click the ignition to position one?

    Could you do a test on a semi-blocked vaporizer with DPF cleaning products that go into the fuel tank? Would be interested to see if its worth using them as prevention to get the vaporizer blocked or if they only work on the DPF

    • @ORileysAutos
      @ORileysAutos  Год назад

      How? By letting it soak in a pot?

    • @bareyz
      @bareyz Год назад

      @ORileysAutos yeah for example, the fluid being dilluted with some fuel to be realistic as possible, or pushing through the vaporizer with a pump, cheers man!

    Jimmy, when you heat the vaporizer's thread do you rapidly cool it with a squirt of cold water? You might have to repeat but that usually cracks a seized thread.

    • @ORileysAutos
      @ORileysAutos  Год назад

      I don't cool it just straight to the spanner

    • @tonydaddario4706
      @tonydaddario4706 Год назад

      Thought it might help, the rapid cooling helps unseize brake calliper bleed nipples when I've used that technique.@@ORileysAutos

    Quick question... why does a forced regen require an oil change? does it overheat the oil?

    • @Ben-in6qh
      @Ben-in6qh Год назад +1

      It puts so much diesel through the engine you get bore wash and the oil level will rise, for the environment you know

    • @phoenixdundee
      @phoenixdundee Год назад

      @@Ben-in6qh It also eats wet belts, main reason for engine failures on wet belt engines is forced regens without oil change.

      The whole DPF thing seems to be yet another instance of vehicles becoming way too complicated. I have an old Hiace which stood for two years out in the open under trees before I bought it.... two new batteries and it started and failed it's MOT on ..... a rear light bulb 🤣 sure. it doesn't have electric windows or aircon and could do with a 6th gear but I'll be keeping it as it just goes on and on - even more than my ex-wife did
