Its a fun debate for all of us, but yeah, I might worry about these two two trying to one up each other. I trust Judge not to go down that hole but I just hope Soto doesn't either.

I think Soto has a high baseball IQ though Judge is the better fielder. Soto better eye and better contact hitter. Judge more power. Soto I believe is a better clutch hitter in the postseason is my unchecked impression. But agree that Kaye’s contention is purely for ratings- they are equally great with one having the edge with Father Time and possibly injury susceptibility due to body type.

@@etamommy nope not getting sucked into this. Both are great players and as a Yankee fan I’m just ecstatic to have the two best players in the AL batting back to back and from opposite sides of the plate. I’ll let the MVP award be determined by stats but as it stands right now, they can be co-MVPs since their WARs are basically identical!

Judge is the best hitter in baseball. He strikes out because he has a huge strike zone. Judge's career numbers are either better than Soto's or on par (average). Soto is a career .287 hitter. Judge hits .282. Not much of a difference. Judge's OPS is significantly higher. He also has a higher OPS+. Judge is the better hitter and overall player. When Judge is at his best, he's better than Soto at his best. Look at this season. As great as Soto has been, his numbers are not better than Judge's and this is even with Judge not hitting for the first month. Judge's OPS, WAR, OBP, slugging, WRC, OPS+, etc are all better than Soto's.
In regards to the playoffs, Soto is a .261 hitter. In the playoffs in 2022, he didn't hit. I don't know why you are using one playoffs (2019) to try and argue Soto is a better hitter. Soto has struck out 24.4% of the time in the playoffs in comparison to 17% in the regular season. Soto strikes out in the playoffs too. Both will help each other in the playoffs.

When Judge is healthy he is the best player in the game. He won an MVP over Ohtani who hit and pitched that year. The voting wasn't even close. Judge in 2022 had very arguably the best season since Bonds in 2004. People are excited that Soto is on the team and immediately forget how good Judge is. Even now, Judge's numbers are better than Soto's and Judge didn't even hit the first month. That shows you he's the best player in the game. Soto could surpass him one day but it isn't today.

Lol what a great problem to have...deciding which of the 2 best hitters in all of baseball is better than the other. They're the only 2 players in all MLB with a >1.000 OPS and they bat one after the other in the SAME lineup 😂. My 2 cents is Soto is only 25--the same age Judge was as a rookie. He's had a top 15 all time start to his career and will pass 200 home runs before his 26th birthday (Ken Griffey Jr pace). Prime Soto very well could match prime Judge, and he'll likely have the better overall career. Lastly, Soto has been incredibly durable, playing practically every game in his career (knock on wood this continues). Regardless, it's flat out unfair having these 2 together.

If it wasn't for his hitting the Nationals don't beat the Astros in the WS. Soto has won a batting title, judge hasn't...& they're both home run hitters. Judge isn't a generational talent like Soto. Until judge proves that he can be clutch in the post season (which he hasn't) & win a chip he'll never be better than Soto.

@@TheRexrappersoto beat the exact sames team... In the WS and this was before the scandal was uncovered so you can't say they weren't still doing it. Watch them back something nobody brings up was Tim mcarver even noted that the nationals pitches must be tipping their pitches they even showed video of how they stopped using signs and Strasburg changed his delivery.

Judge is better than Soto. A more complete player.

Judge is A WAY better defender. Sotos defense has been a bit overrated this year. Had a good first one to two weeks but has fallen off and doesn’t play the wall well at all. Makes all the basic plays in RF, however.

Judge is the best baseball player in the league if u exclude Ohtani when he is pitching and batting. Soto couod very well turn out better in the next coming years given his age but rn Judge is the best imo.
