I'm with Don. I'm a Giants fan so I guess take it with a grain of salt if you want. But a couple years before, the Giants were no hit by Homer Bailey of the Reds in a similar situation, a totally non competitive loss (I think it was a 4-0 game). When the game got to the 9th inning, I hoped he got it. I wasn't at the game and I'm not married to a Reds fan. But like Don with the Giants, I have no animosity towards the Reds. If it was the Dodgers, I wouldn't be cheering for it. But against a non rival team, is a non competitive 1 hit loss really any worse than a non competitive no hit loss?

But it is not rare to put up a 5 or 6 spot in an inning. Very strange Don wouldn't want to see the Mets have one of their greatest wins in their history, strange he doesn't look at it that way. I would never root against the Yankees, it's unthinkable.
