This record could not have been broken by a more humble, steroid free hero of the Bronx. That the record set by two Yankees was broken by another Yankee, 61years after Roger Maris (1961) and also in his (like Maris') 161st game. So proud for you, Mr. Judge. From an Atlanta Braves fan. Even Hollywood could not script something better!
I really don't tear up but this brought a tear to my eye having grown up just across the bridge in NJ when Maris and Mantle battled. Not only is all of baseball happy I think Roger is probably looking down with a smile. It could not have been a finer man than Aaron Judge to achieve this and he did it the right way. As a long time Roger Maris fan I knew this day was coming one day. I’m surprised it took this long. 61 years after 1961. WoW. I’m delighted I was able to witness it and I’m delighted Aaron Judge another Yankee was able to set the record.

That idiot Hank Steinbrenner should have realized that back in spring training ! Aaron Judge gambled on having a great season or an injury and you can see what his worth is . Hank Steinbrenner sent his poodles in the front office to talk to the press in a pushy way while Aaron kept quiet with the exception of his bat and now history.
A couple of things about Michael Kay’s calls on the 3 home runs: -There was a controversy about whether or not Kay would be able to make the calls cuz the national networks had picked up a few of the games. All for nought because he winded up making all 3 calls. -He paid homage to Phil Rizzuto’s 61 call for Roger Maris by saying “this could be it!” Some great all time calls

Even though the season ended in disappointment again. His homerun chase made the season a huge success not just for Yankee fans but all of Baseball was clued in. It was great for the game.
He as far as I care, IS the Homerun champ. The only thing you can possibly argue is Maris had only 154 games to hit 61. But Sosa, McGwire and Bonds? Forget about it. The Judge has made his ruling
I love how his teammates celebrate and cheer for him especially Rizzo that's so awesome for him and the Yankees organization if they was in the Bronx that stadium would be shaking, Congratulations Judge..💪💪💪
Amen, 100% agreed, there are 3 me ahead of where Judge finished with more home runs in a season, Baroid, Sosa, McGwire, & oddly, all of them were juiced! Thank God, the 3 other men who are on the 60 Homerun list, are all clean, & all Yankees!! Aaron Judge deserves all he got this year!

On opening day 2022, I bought double header tickets to see the Yankees in Arlington on the last week of the season. Left field seats, beside the bullpen. I went to school with Lucas Luetge, so I try to go catch him whenever they come to Texas. Ive been to World Series games in Houston, Arlington, and St. Louis. I've NEVER heard a stadium as loud as Arlington was the moment #62 cleared the fence. It was even louder than Minute Maid when the Astros won the title in 21. Special, magical, unforgetable...all fit the description of witnessing history.
Can you imagine that feeling as his parents? They probably grew up watching Maris and Mantle, or hearing tales about them as kids… only to have their future kid go on to be the next person to beat the record and hold MLB history.
